There's just something about the captain that makes me think about all of the different lgbtqia+ people throughout history that never got their happy endings. All the people who couldn't live openly, or freely be themselves (today too of course). And it makes me really sad:(

I think it's because of just how "normal" he seems, he's literally just some boring old guy (affectionate). We see him do regular things (as regular as you can get when you're a ghost), he just seems so real. He wasn't exceptionate, he didn't really have a very grand life or love story. He seems like someone that probably could've existed, which is amazing character wise and also just really sad that so many people here in the real world haven't or won't ever get their happy ending in their lifetime.

I can't remember if it's canon or not but I know it's at least a popular headcanon that Marshall is at least a little bit taller than Benedikt

So can you imagine how smug he would be — knowing canonically that Benedikt hit his growth spurt first and was presumably taller than Marshall for a decent stretch of time after that — that he eventually became the taller one of the two of them. He would genuinely never let that go I think

Man my self insert has had some changes at first it was gonna be Jedi training in their later adult years > vito the Jedi idea and instead have them as a force sensitive who really does not give two shits about Jedi and stuff and instead is a gambler > to vitoing that idea to be a bounty hunter who acts like they're tough shit but sometimes is caught giving themselves pep talks before hunting g for a bounty. Also did I mention they're EXTREMELY fucking clumsy? Like....drops their blaster in the sand and some grains get into it and now suddenly its not firing so they have to resort to hand to hand. I'm the luckiest worst bounty hunter in the galaxy simply because when it goes wrong I still manage to complete what I was set out to do! Well nine times out if ten at least 😂

We haven't seen what the daylight spell did to help the situation yet (except for drawing the attention of everyone, giving kuro the chance to get up again so tsubaki failed to put the counts blood in his mouth) but everything points towards the manga entering into the next stage of the final arc (sakuya killed his mikuni clone and misono freed himself from lily's chess game) so I assume that it will at least buy the characters some time to do other things again.

Anyway, I hope we'll see mikuni and lily starting to feel like the decision to put kuro on mahiru's path (ordinary high schooler from a sorcerer family with no magic abilities or combat experience not much to expect from to quote lily) might have been a mistake.

Mikuni is always hard to read so I'm suspicious of his decision to explain anything about his spell at all, but maybe he's getting cocky thinking there is no way they will be able to kill all his clones before the end of the ritual.

And this is probably where it will bite mikuni in the ass that he only relies on himself while mahiru aquired a huge amount of allies (potentially even more if tsubaki's subclass become his allies. And hey sakuya and lilac would probably help mahiru already). Killing 13 mikuni's with all the factions not communicating with each other and not working together? Okay, that barrier spell might have lasted until the ritual is done.

But with all the people on mahiru's side? He has almost all the servamps and their subclass, every eve except one, the entirety of C3, gear and some of tsubaki's subclass on his side. Even freaking touma is trying to stop the ritual.

The numbers are not in mikuni's favour. Even with him multiplying that much. Hugh already switched sides, jeje is still captured and lost his jinn, tsubaki is kind of stuck in his battle with kuro and lily I suspect might start to have doubts after he lost to misono.

Mahiru and kuro getting rid of the distance limit is another thing they probably didn't anticipate. It was an important part of so many plans before. Shuhei used it to try to pressure mahiru into working with C3, tsubaki used it to trick misono into thinking licht and lawless were kept apart and it put nicco under pressure when he had to take sigurd hostage. With it gone it's way harder to force the servamps and eves to do things they don't want to do.

sorry but I'm laughing way too much about a mental image I sketched out before bed: Bertolt has decided he's going to cast Georg in a play about social reform, which ends with everyone onstage getting devoured (it is symbolic of capitalism, or whatever Bertolt wants it to be). It is a logical role for a devouring hell fiend like Georg, but the little guy is having a devil of a time trying to remember his lines. He is illiterate, for one thing, so the others have to verbally coach him. Except he can't remember that, either. Even the concept of a live performance itself seems to elude him. It only gets worse as time goes on, and he starts complaining of being hungry and his co-stars are looking mighty tasty right about now...

I don't know why but imagining the little guy in rehearsals fumbling his way through ridiculous lines that he can't remember and breaking character every five minutes ("I don't understand, when do I get to eat her, Bertolt?" 🥺) while Bertolt fumes and rages and and tears out his hair in frustration, is extremely funny to me. Like, imagine a play where Lorre and Brecht, accomplished colleagues of the stage in real life, were actually incompetent buffoons who could do nothing right, and you will get some idea of why I keep giggling.
