Pancakes Household: Chapter 9, Part 4

Bob: Costume time! Okay friends and fans, it’s time for our Halloween special, who wants to make a pumpkin pie with me?
From beside Bob the droid chirps to indicate that people are tuning in.
Bob: As you can see I have chosen to be a rebel pilot today. I’ll be keeping this on for the bake and my bake sale but something tells me the boss would not approve of me turning up to work in it. Okay let’s run through all our ingredients
The drone chirps while Bob begins preparations. Eliza’s suggestion to get the drone may have stemmed from a place of wanting the flashiest one but Bob appreciated having a set of eyes he could look at when he talked.

Bob: Ugh, kneading, not my favourite part after I’ve already done a workout but hey, that’s on me
He continues to narrate his baking, even getting the drone to read out a question or two that viewers have sent in about the recipe. In the end he pulls one excellent pumpkin pie out of the oven, a perfect Halloween treat.

Bob: Come one, come all to Bob’s Bars! We don’t just have our classic beloved lemon bars today, we have cake and cookies for the sweetness you want on Halloween. If you’re having all that sugar, may as well get full eating it!
The first few customers seem unimpressed with Bob’s selling today but when some new sims walk up to purchase suddenly decide maybe the baking isn’t so bad.

Fergus: Hey Onyx could you- woah! What are you
Onyx: A knight obviously. I see you’re going with the classic skeleton
Fergus: No point fixing what isn’t broke. But could you please help me with my bike? Dad’s busy with the sale and I don’t want to interrupt mother when she’s practicing her speech
Onyx: Sure, I can try. Hop on and I’ll try explain, remember I only just learnt how to ride before my birthday
Fergus: Oh yeah, that’s right
So Fergus wobbles his way around the yard with Onyx doing their best to provide guidance.

Bob: Alright folks, my shift will be starting soon. Who’s going to be customer of the day and buy the last lemon bar?
Harvey: Hello. Do you have bake sales often
Bob: Why yes I do sir
Harvey: How convenient! And do you get positive reviews
Bob: Indeed I do
Harvey: Well then person I’ve never met I would like to buy the last lemon bar
After Bob makes the sale Harvey tells everyone around him how good it is while Bob packs up. It’s good to have friends.

Eliza greets the first trick or treater and offers them some candy. The kid leaves happy and Ginger comes out of the house very confused.
Ginger: *whines* What’s going on
Eliza: Ginger sweetie it’s just me, it’s just mother. Here let me give you a brush
Ginger: *barks* you may not look like mother but you definitely smell the same
Then it’s dinner time for the Pancakes left at home.
Fergus: Dad left us roast! Awesome
Eliza: Onyx will you be able to eat in that helmet

Fergus: *laughs*
The trio chat and eat while Ginger looks on. Sure she has biscuits in her bowl but that looks like real meat on the table. Why won’t they feed her that?

Onyx takes care of the dishes and Fergus decides it’s time for Ginger to learn another trick, playing dead. Mustering his drama skills he does his best to show her what to do, but she remains skeptical of the exercise. Fergus keeps trying though and eventually Ginger catches on, rolling to the floor.
Fergus: You did it! Well done Ginger, we’re stars

*doorbell rings*
Eliza: Onyx could you get that one
Onyx: Sure mother
They open the door to the deck candy all prepared and are greeted by a teen girl dressed as a maid.
Zhafira: Trick or treat
Onyx: Uhh… what
Zhafira: *laughs* I mean for me
Onyx: Oh, right. Have some candy?
Zhafira: Why thank you
Onyx has just decided they should ask what high school the stranger attends when she turns and skips off down the drive.

Onyx: Your loss. Hey, have you seen a girl at school?
Carson: There are many girls at school

Be kind to your mind
– As someone who used to torture my mind with hurtful and doubtful words about myself, I realized that it cost nothing to be kind to my own mind. Instead of critisizing myself, I started to speak dearly of myself, complimenting myself whenever I cross a mirror, congratulating myself for surviving a day and lastly, forgiving myself for committing small mistakes. It's never bad to be kind to your mind, always remind yourself that you are worthy!!
Ask for help‼️
– Growing up, I never got the courage to ask for help with the people around me. i grew up independently, I did things my own such as learning how to ride a bike, doing my own make up, making decisions for myself but then some people came into my life and made me realize that asking for help is not bad at all. It's actually a ease in heart to ask for help, it's like breathing out of your bubble. So if you are reading this, never ever hesitate to ask for help 😉
Take much needed breaks
– As a student, life got pretty tiring for me to live on. Deadlines, school activities, practices after schools and endless school works followed my soul even at home, I would often pull an all nighter just to finish all my pending and review for quizzes or exams but then was I even breathing? Am i still okay? No. I'm tired of everything but I was so scared to rest back then because I thought that resting will make me lazy and break all my routines but then one fine night, I decided to take a break. I decided that it was time for me to breathe. To feel the comfort and enjoy the slow pace of life. It comforted me so much that I started taking breaks every once a while. It changed my perspective, taking a break isn't so bad at all.
How to manage your stress? 💡
Take a rest then go! 💤 – Taking a nap or resting for a bit is valid. As a person who needs constant nap everyday after school, its essential to take little rest to relax my mind a bit. You shouldn't worry too much, just like me each one of us has difficulties to worry, but I don't let it distract me. When you feel like you can't function properly try to recharge a bit and heal your mind. As a person who can't think properly due to lack of sleep, I tend to sleep rather consume caffeine to stay alerted. I believe that sleeping or resting is the best way to regain energy. I get that life is too tiring so taking a little stop is essential.
Stay Calm and Collective 🧘 – Don't always think on what you will do next or what will happen next, your forehead might wrinkle. As a student who always worries about school works, I tend to panic about the amount of task but, I try to lessen doing my work, if I have too much in my mind. I don't always pay attention on how many I still need to do, instead I pay attention on one and focus on it. I calm myself by listening to relaxing music and meditating. Connecting with nature is one of my best coping mechanism to relieve stress and calm myself, its very recommendable.
Eat and Exercise 🥛⛹️
Whenever you're feeling stressed, try to eat something. Food can lessen my stress because it helps to improve my overall mood and regain energy. Managing what I eat is also important so that I can maintain my health. Since I have fast metabolism, I tend to eat more and more so that I can cope up with my stress and problems. Exercise is also the best option to relieve stress. Exercise helps me to reduce my stress hormones, so I often go for a jog or a walk everyday to burn not only my stress but also my calories.

Jamie told her friends she was sick with the flu and not to worry about her. Unfortunately, two of her friends ignored that part of her message. "She's going to be mad," Will says. "But we'll deal with that." Hannibal nods and uses Jamie's spare key to let the two men into the house. The two head upstairs to Jamie's bedroom. They see she's asleep. "Let her sleep. I'll make soup," Hannibal says.
The two go downstairs. Will helps Hannibal prepare the ingredients to make soup. "Winter is kicking her ass," Will comments. "She usually would get a cold, but she's been sick more often this year." "It doesn't help that someone went to work sick; actually, the reason she got both strep and the flu was because of assholes not staying home when they should." "Yeah, we've had a few people call out sick. Thankfully, not enough to disrupt the investigations." "But I'm sure she's not thrilled with this. I swear she doesn't take a day off unless we make her." "True. Even though Jamie enjoyed the beach vacation that we took in July." They fondly recall their weekend escapade with Jamie, remembering the persuasion involved.
Jamie sat at her desk in her office, reviewing some reports related to the current investigation. Her twin friends, Hannibal Lecter and Will Graham, walked into her office and stood on either side of her. "When did you last go on vacation?" Hannibal asks. Jamie shrugs. "Well, we're taking you on vacation for the weekend," Wil says. "You can't say no either. Everything has been booked." "Just be glad we didn't pack for you. Though we should have. Hannibal took the paper from Jamie's hand, put the papers back in the folder, and put the folder in a drawer. They then escorted her from the office. Will grabbed her trench coat and bag on the way out. "I could have carried you instead," Will jokes. The two men continue to escort their smaller friend to the parking lot.
Jamie drives her bike home, with Hannibal and Will following in Hannibal's car.
The two men follow Jamie into the house to ensure she's packing for their trip. They're relieved that she's not putting up a fight. "The drive should be interesting," Will comments. "I didn't think you'd want to drive there." "It's better than the trip we'd be taking if we took a flight. After the ninety-minute flight, it would still be a six-hour drive to Corolla Beach." "I see." "We'll stop for dinner halfway. We'll get to the rental by ten." Jamie finished packing, and the three got into Hannibal's car. Will sat in the front passenger seat while Jamie sat behind Will.
They expected her silence during the drive. "At least she's not complaining about being dragged on vacation," Will jokes. "We know she'll be happy tomorrow." "That's true." "I just hate how she's not interested in this because of depression," Will sighs. Motivating her proves difficult, despite its necessity." "We must exercise caution and patience when encouraging her. We know she'll like this trip."
After driving for two hours, Hannibal and Will decide to stop for dinner. They're in Richmond, Virginia, halfway to their destination. Will chooses a location that satisfies everyone, then directs Hannibal. "It's not like you're used to, but it seems nice," Will says. Hannibal parks the car on the curb, and the three enter the restaurant.
"You can order wine. I'll drive the rest of the way," Will offers. While it's not the expensive wins Hannibal is used to, he does order wine. Hannibal and Will talk a little and try to get Jamie to converse during dinner. With the bill paid, they returned to their car, driving for two hours before reaching the rental place. As Hannibal predicted, it was ten at night. They collected their bags from the trunk and then proceeded inside. Each of them found a bedroom to sleep in.
Hannibal and Will are in the kitchen by eight. They knew Jamie wouldn't be waking up soon. "Perhaps the smell of coffee and breakfast will wake her up," Hannibal says as he gets the ingredients. "Perhaps," Will says and sips his coffee. "Or I'll wake her up." Will watches Hannibal cook as he drinks his coffee. Jamie enters the kitchen just as Hannibal is finishing breakfast. "Good morning, sleepyhead," Will smiles. "Our personal chef is cooking breakfast." Hannibal smiles as he finishes cooking. Will makes Jamie coffee as she sits at the island counter. "Pancakes and bacon," Hannibal says as he plates the food. The three sit and eat breakfast. "We should go to the beach," Will says. "It's only nine. Let's wait until eleven to go to the beach," Hannibal says. "Alright." Jamie agrees.
After breakfast, the three get dressed. Jamie and Will watch TV while Hannibal reads a book, occasionally smirking at his couch potato friends.
Jamie and Will decide to pack lunch to eat at the beach. Hannibal complains that he could have made something better if he knew. "Fine, you can tomorrow," Jamie says. For now, Will makes sandwiches and packs a bag of chips the three like. Hannibal and Will put shoes on while Jamie puts on water shoes. After applying sunblock, they grab the foldable lounge chairs and umbrella before walking to the beach.
Hannibal and Will set up the lounge chairs and tried to set up the umbrella to provide shade over all three chairs. Unfortunately, this failed, so they put the umbrella between two lounge chairs. "Ok, who's sitting in the sun?" Will jokes. "I will," Jamie says. "I'll be in the sun while in the water, anyway."
Jamie walks towards the ocean. Will follows her while Hannah lies on the lounge chair and reads a book. He'll occasionally look at Jamie and Will in the water.
"Do you have any thoughts on how to persuade Hannibal to go into the water?"" Jamie says. "No. I say leave him." "All right." Eventually, they exited the water and rejoined Hannibal. The three decide it's time for lunch.
"See, Jamie? This is nice," Hannibal says. Jamie's smile pleases both men. The three enjoy the rest of their vacation until the dreaded drive home late Sunday afternoon.
"That was a fun weekend," Will says. She needs more outings this year. Even if it'll be rough at first," Hannibal says. "Yes, no doubt she'll refuse at first, but we know she'll have fun."
Jamie lies in bed, struggling with the flu. She knows she has a fever, which causes her to struggle between feeling freezing cold or too warm under the blankets. Jamie is so uncomfortable that she wants to cry but holds back the tears, not wanting to worry Hannibal and Will. She is unaware that Will is watching her. He quietly leaves the room to tell Hannibal. "That's normal and a good thing," Hannibal says. "Unless she's not up to eating." "I'll ask her." "Check her temperature while you're at it."
"How are you feeling?" Will asks Jamie. "Cold." He takes her temperature. "101°, your fever is going down. I'll get you some medicine. Hannibal is making soup." Will gives Jamie medicine and leaves the room.
The two men walk into the room. Hannibal carries a tray with a bowl of soup. "Come on, you need to eat," Will says encouragingly. Once Jamie sits up, he props the pillows behind her. Hannibal puts the tray on her lap. While she's not hungry, Jamie eats the soup. They sit on opposite sides of the bed. Jamie's reassurances failed to ease their persistent worry.
