In a nutshell how does TFOne Nightlight react to the truth about Sentinel?
In a nutshell...
It's Existential Crisis Time!
She has a similar reaction to D-16 believe it or not.
Is disgusted that she worked with a mech that claimed to do good and care for others while doing such acts.
Agrees with D until he mentions murder.
As much as the idea sounds appealing, she knows that's a line someone can cross and never go back.
She'll need to watch the miner in case something happens...

Kings
I feel it’s about time for me to create a proper introduction for this project, as a lot of the artwork I make for it, feels very out of context.
Most of the sketches and illustrations you(‘ll) see, are both artwork for my portfolio, but also material for a pitch package.
Tumblr media
Kings is a Sci-Fi neo-noir project, whose characters are representative of face cards in a standard playing court card deck. It is a story that utilizes Iranic cultures and politics from West and Central Asia.
Its storyline and “vibe” in a nutshell, can be described as third-person Dishonored, with the aesthetics of a James Bond film (specifically Casino Royale), and a Kill Bill revenge plot.
The setting takes place in the Proxima Centauri system, in a fictional planet called Paraydun.
Characters include:
'Jack' (Kasra) Sardar. A knight and right-hand advisor for the King with an existential crisis. She feels that her purpose in life is unfulfilling, and a big component of her background is kept as a secret hidden from her by her father, Jahangir Shah.
Jahangir Sardar Shah. The King. “The Ageless King” as one may describe. He had been running Paraydun, for greater than ten-thousands of years. He is charismatic and silver-tongued, but also a precarious leader. He assigned ‘Jack’ on a mission to hunt down the Div, a fiend to the monarchy. Really likes a good game of poker.
Tahereh Gharib. The Queen. A newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of Salomat Labs, originally founded by Jahangir Shah. Tahereh is also a diplomat for the judiciary court of Paraydun.
The Div, The Joker: An ex-medical assistant robot—now controlled by a hacker that infiltrates political headquarters and operations. From embassies in space stations, to highly secured agencies in remote areas of Paraydun.
Side character--Matlouba Rajabova (Ace): A Tajik-Afghani immigrant, originally from Kulab, Tajikistan. She is a robotics engineer that specializes in cybernetics.

The Beasts in a nutshell is them getting existential crisis in their own special ways(because of having so much power and immortality and all that), and then the Witches giving them the longest fucking time out for killing the the other creatures they were supposed to take care of.
Anyway, read my analysis.

Jolie’s thoughts on Silver Blaze (Sherlock & Co. podcast) Parts 1 & 2
… because I can already tell that this will get too long if I wait for parts 3 & 4 to drop…
I know Joel has said in several places that this case is his favourite ACD story, so expectations are high… and not being disappointed so far!
I already loved this one at 3 minutes in, with the opening montage of part 1 being totally over the top, mega blockbuster crime of the century style, and then the next thing we get is Sherlock practising the clippity-clop thing and looking for a new home for 327 ants.
Sherlock being a train geek (of course he is) and going on about the ghost trains just after John went on about the creepy Dartmoor legends got me, too. In my book, Silver Blaze has never had a gothic horror vibe to it, but it may well have now! Let’s see how that aspect will develop.
Other details I loved:
John‘s mum: "He‘s a very sensitive boy and you need to respect that." - "He’s not a boy, he’s a man… who plays with ants."
John and Mariana pushing Sherlock into the case by threatening him with a party, and John being a gleefully cackling little bugger about it when it works.
"Just trying to understand how your brain works." - "Yeah, you and me both, mate."
Sherlock giving us a whole paragraph straight out of ACD (the "plethora" bit) - I love how well it always works in contrast with how everyone else in this universe talks.
The dodgy SD card, which - I hereby predict - will turn out to be more than a comedy element as the case progresses.
Sherlock deducing the entry code for the cottage, we love to see that kind of stuff, don’t we.
"We’ve got a horse to find. Giddy up."- Love it when Sherlock speaks ordinary colloquial modern English like a foreign language.
"You are a child, a giant crime-solving child!" - Sherlock Holmes in a nutshell.
"I’ve done the washing up - he said, pausing for a thank you - " - "Thank you."
Oh and scrolling on our phone to the point of existential crisis till we pass out is so how we all fall asleep these days, isn’t it. Jonk Watson, the true Everyman for the 21st century.
And then we get feeeeels, too!
Starting with "Talk to me, John." - 🥹🥹🥹 The incredible intimacy of that little moment. Also, another 'John', seemingly out of nowhere - is this Sherlock being incredibly finely attuned to the moments where John's war trauma may re-emerge, such as in this scene where they’re viewing a very badly injured body, ready to step in with whatever emotional support may be needed? If so, our boy has come a long way already since the first sweet but clumsy "Would you like to hold hands and talk about your emotions?" when they were viewing the body in Thor Bridge and I’M HERE FOR IT.
And what was that shower scene??? Things getting very much *less weird* for Sherlock while he stares at his dear companion in the shower (who presumably doesn’t shower fully or even half dressed) and imagines what life would be without him? If this show was heading in an unequivocal Johnlock direction, I‘d say this was an awakening. As it is, I don’t believe for a second that Sherlock was high. He just wanted reassurance that John would stay in the picture forever, whatever exactly you like to imagine the picture to be. 😭
More lovely details:
"Cinderella will go to the ball" - "You stop being so bloody clever, and I will stop with the compliments." And literally two minutes later it’s "I'm not asking you to be comfortable, I’m asking you to help me solve the case!" and John being Sherlocks literal beast of burden so Sherlock can look over a wall that even little John Watson climbs without any assistance only a minute later.
Sherlock Holmes telling John Watson to get on his knees as if this isn’t the moment the Sherlock Holmes fandom has been waiting for for over 140 years.
Sherlock being gentle and friendly with the horse!
And to wrap up, a few thoughts on the case aspect:
[Warning: Contains spoilers for the original ACD story and may therefore contain spoilers for this version, too!]
*
*
*
*
*
The limping sheep in part 1 had me going 👀 already, and now the cataract knife has made its appearance, I really don’t expect a lot of surprises when we get to the denouement, and I'm assuming that the fact that there is an imprint of the letter S from the walking stick on the head of the murder victim just means that there was a violent confrontation quite some time before June actually died. Why else would Sherlock agree with Inspector Gregory that the imprint is there, but also with John that those extensive and massive injuries could not have been caused by a single blow with a stick? Nope, not sensing any dramatic plot twists compared to the original version this time. Let’s see if I was right!

[BLAKE MONTGOMERY. 32. CIS MALE. HE/HIM] is here! They’ve lived in Asbury Park for [32 YEARS] and are originally from [ASBURY PARK, NEW JERSEY]. They are a [FRONT DESK CLERK AT ROSE MOTEL] and in their downtime love [TAX/IDENTITY FRAUD] and [DEEP RESEARCH]. They look a lot like [DAVID CORENSWET] and live in/on [OAKDALE]. The song that makes people think of them the most is [DEVIL’S ADVOCATE BY THE NEIGHBOURHOOD].
☆ playlist. ☆ pinterest. ☆ muse. ☆ connections.
━━ ⟢ the basics  full name → blake theodore montgomery birthday → 03/24/1992 big three  → aries sun, sagittarius moon, leo rising 🔥🔥🔥 height  → 6'4" mbti  → entj sexual orientation  → he's not picky 😔 hometown → asbury park, new jersey
━━ ⟢ personality tidbits - in a nutshell, he's chaos - his emotions overrun his whole life, and it shows - also kinda has a mentality of if he wants to be something he can be without a degree because in the wider sense it's all bullshit and did the dinosaurs have college degrees in business  - that being said, he never sticks with anything long enough to see it through or be dedicated to it, he thinks there's too many options - unfortunately he does fall in love with strangers without knowing them knowing them, and once he does he gets very disappointed and is like “wow how did i miss such a big red flag” meanwhile he's over here looking like a 🚩himself - once a girl he was dating told him he always called people immature or that they were acting like a baby, but really it was him all along who was the immature baby, and that impact it had on him he spent everyday after that proving to himself that wasn't true - he's all about the hustle of getting money, no matter the means  - deep down he's always wondering what his real life purpose is, or if he even has one. he's always combatting himself internally  - he will randomly drop his own lore on people without them asking or saying - he struggles with existential crisis on a daily basis, but mostly about god because he's going back and forth on what the fuck is going on in the universe  - he lacks a filter, or says what everyone's thinking and thinks he's righteous for that  - he may ruin his relationships with everyone, but the one sacred thing in his life is his pets!!!! he loves dogs and cats, and he would die for them or kill for them, no questions asked - he dropped out because he thought he was smarter than his professor - he does what he can to get by because obviously working for a motel front desk doesn't pay all of the bills - whether that's aiding people in tax fraud, or any kind of fraud, intimidation tactics the list runs endlessly - most of the fraud he commits is from the people who check into the motel and it's more or less the skeevy people he can tell aren't the best individuals  - he thinks he wants to be in love, but when he gets into a relationship he's like oh no what the fuck have i done  - thrives when he's living in his own individuality and independence  - screws over a lot of people who were nothing but good to him, friends, relationships, family - deep down he struggles with thinking he's a loser, and he does think about everyone he's ever done wrong, even if he never talks to them about it, or apologizes for what he's done, let alone admit he's done anything wrong - but also he never takes anything super seriously he's like okay calm down we're literally on a floating rock and he disguises his pain with jokes
━━ ⟢ go deeper tw: fire, death, drugs - one of his first core memories is having his feelings invalidated and laughed at by his entire family, from that point on he started to hide his raw emotions.  - he was born into a family of mostly sisters  - i would say he's the black sheep of his family, and the family disappointment wrapped up in one - his family is well off, but they disowned blake when he dropped out of college and he scrapes by because he refuses to go and beg for their help  - his mom and dad are well known psychotherapists and authors, but unfortunately they based most of their writing off of blake  - his parents treated him more like a case study than their child  - they would do things to trigger his reaction, get rid of his pets without so much a warning  - the one time he thought he was having a genuine moment with his dad, he hadn't realized his dad bugged the room to record it and analyze it for data  - after his family cut him off of money, he recklessly broke into their house, robbed them of everything, and set the house on fire, including their cars, etc.  - he hadn't known his sister was inside the house, he purposefully waited outside until he thought everyone was out of the house  - his parents tried to save her as soon as they got back home from dinner, it resulted in his parents being trapped in a room after a beam fell and blocked the door resulting in third degree burns on various parts of their body.  - blake didn't go see them in the hospital, he ran, he laid low for awhile and waited for it all to pass. he paid someone for an alibi, he destroyed any evidence tying it back to him - the following day when his parents and siblings were trying to get ahold of him, he ignored it. he took the money he stole from them and spent it on drugs in a club to try and forget all about it.  - what he didn't know is they were trying to tell him his sister had died from the fire - he didn't go to her funeral, instead he spiraled into what he already knew everyone else thought of him anyway.
━━ ⟢ connections like i said on sunny's!!! i want all the connections, old classmates, exes, crushes, people he's scammed, people he's worked for to do illegal things for, friends, foes, enemies, people he's robbed, neighbors, people who've checked into the motel, cousins, co workers, situationships, etc etc etc i need it all !!!

I forgor
I had a dream about MD (not again, this was my first clear MD dream that I can remember.)
This never really had any good plot but I loved the dream though (it was pretty silly too)
So I honestly have no idea what the place we were in was, but it was kinda like a shopping mall like place, but no escalators, just 1 floor of stores with nothing in them because the brain was too lazy to explain what the stores were selling. The detail of the building was that the giant main part of the “mall” had a realllyyyyy high ceiling with this cool swirly chandelier, and the marble was that brownish color, and the brown marble made up the walls, and then white marble made up the floor. (It was a really pretty building tbh)
Okay onto the dream part
In a nutshell: I hung out with Cyn the entire time and we had fun
I honestly have no idea how to explain this dream. I don’t even know how it started. I just encountered Cyn and she was being all nice to me and stuff, so we would climb on a desk, or a counter, I’m the giant “lobby” (the super tall ceiling with brown marble and stuff) and wait for the swirly chandelier to slowly rotate itself in our direction, to where the lowest part of it would reach us and we could climb on it.
Cyn did try to talk to me tho, but for some reason the brain couldn’t form words or sentences with her voice so it was kinda like she was talking and you could understand her, but you couldn’t at the same time.
So this scene of us climbing the chandelier and sliding off of it would repeat many times, until an ex-friend of mine just appeared and started annoying the literal frick out of us? (Dunno, this was a really random dream) and then he ran away giggling and all that stupid stuff; then the only thing that my dream managed to make Cyn say was “cry.” So I replied “Oh don’t cry, wanna climb the chandelier with me?” She agreed and we climbed, and that scene of us climbing and sliding down the chandelier repeated a few times a g a i n.
Bonus out of context scene that was in my dream: Glamrock Freddy was there and he was staring at the floor having an existential crisis the entire time.
But In this dream, Cyn never had or used Solver; she still had the T. rex arms and her walk, posture, etc, but just wasn’t solver infected. This does make me think, is Cyn really a victim of solver? Probably. Because the first scene in episode 5 is that maid drone marked for disassembly, and on their visor, it shows solver taking them over as a host, reassuring them that they can fix them. And the armband that says “marked for disassembly” has the name in the serial number: CYN.
So I do wonder what she was really like before she was marked for disassembly.
This isn’t really a theory, but now this really out of context dream has me thinking about what Cyn’s real personality is like before, or maybe her real personality is revealed once AS is defeated, if she is a true victim of it, or if Cyn isn’t killed in the process of defeating AS.

From the translator's introduction:
What sparked the interview was Germany’s suppression of views that are critical of Israel’s conduct of the ongoing war in Gaza. Artists, journalists, and scholars who did not follow the official line were silenced, threatened, attacked, and even fired. This shocked Xiang Biao, who greatly values intellectual independence and the role of universities and research institutions in protecting that independence. He subsequently began to pay close attention to the student demonstrations protesting Israel’s prosecution of the war, and especially to the aggressively offensive posture of the German government and German universities, although he came to see them as merely an extreme example of a worldwide posture. In the interview with Wu Qi, Xiang attempts to tease out the logic of the demonstrations and the universities’ reactions to the demonstration.
His argument, in a nutshell, is that the backlash against the demonstrations is a product of a larger failure of the postwar liberal global order. However one views the current war, the Palestinian problem has been festering for decades, and the global liberal order has, broadly speaking, sought to solve the problem by supporting Israel as the sole genuine democracy in the region. The point of the student demonstrations is to shine a light on the manifest injustice this “solution” has produced. Governments and universities have shut down the protests so vigorously essentially because their only answer to the Palestinian problem is more of the same and “let’s not talk about it or I’m sending in the police.”
An excerpt from early on in the interview (the whole thing is so good I want to excerpt all of it):
In Eichmann in Jerusalem, Hanna Arendt emphasized that the Holocaust was not just a crime against the Jews, but against all of humanity, and should be understood in this larger existential sense as an example of the “banality of evil” and not reduced to the sins of one race against another. The vast majority of those killed in the Holocaust were Jews, but many Communists, [Roma and Sinti], and homosexuals were killed as well. Members of the Frankfurt School argued that one of the causes of the Holocaust was modernity, in the sense that it applied rationality to the systematic murder of people; indeed, Frankfurt School thinkers were surprised by the extent of antisemitism they discovered while in exile in the United States, where of course no such massacre occurred.
The Holocaust was thus not a necessary consequence of antisemitism. Antisemitism has been a fact of life in Europe since the Middle Ages, a manifestation of racism, but Jews and Christians in Germany have also coexisted for a long time, and the massacre of Jews was not the result of a sudden intensification of the conflict between the two groups, but rather a problem of modernity, including the problems of racial categorizing and the rigidity that that can accompany rationalism, dehumanization, etc.
It goes without saying that we need to seriously reflect on both the murder of Jews and antisemitism, but one does not necessarily lead to the other. After the Cold War, however, the two seemed to become increasingly linked together in Germans’ minds, and the Holocaust became solely a crime against the Jews. In this way, the liberal order has come to manifest itself in Germany as a moral rebuke to the German people and a profound sense of guilt regarding the Jewish people, and not a thorough reflection on the rationality of modernity.

So, this is that big post about my Faust/M&M/Fight Club/Hannibal universe I mentioned. I still hesitate on what I should call it (Faustverse? Devil club?)
Brainworms include:
1) My interpretation of Woland
2) Fight Club M&M AU
3) My interpretation of the master
4) Hannibal crossover
Tumblr media
Woland is a character from a novel by Michail Bulgakov called “The master and Margarita”. He is heavily implied to be Goethe’s Mephistopheles and the novel itself is inspired by “Faust”. So these two books are on the same timeline (according to my headcannons).
My interpretation of Woland/Mephistopheles is that he is not a fallen angel, but is instead a part of Primordial Chaos from which God and his order were born. He disconnected from the main body some time ago and now exists in the material world as a force of entropy. He is neither good nor evil, but he is categorized as a demon because of his constant need to ensue chaos. He is not a part of Hell’s hierarchy and has a friendly relationship with God, because I don’t like when these type of characters lose their autonomy.
When he existed in the Primordial Chaos he was subjected to constantly changing powerful emotions and other extreme experiences and got used to them (iPad kid moment). So now, trapped in the more calm and organized environment, he is constantly bored and tries to replicate those experiences to feel something. He can feel all human emotions, but they are so mild for him, that he views them more like an annoying distraction, than actual feelings.
Woland doesn’t consider himself as a whole identity, but he looks and acts like one because he contrasts the environment opposite to his nature. So, technically, he wasn’t born so he isn’t afraid of death (he’ll disappear in a billion years or so)
In his free time he likes to find sad philosophers who are unsatisfied with their lives and manipulate them into something more entertaining. But it is pretty hard to find educated and ambitious people who are not attached to anybody and are willing to leave their previous lives behind (Faust was the last one and he got to heaven, so now he’s sitting there in a constant state of euphoria, lost his ambition and pride, essentially becoming a shell of himself)
Woland thought that having a couple legions of hell to help with his chaotic shenanigans would be good for his professional development, so in the beginning of the XVIth century he makes a deal with Lucifer to be in charge of hell for a couple of centuries and Lucifer agreed because he was drunk.
Elements of Fight Club in my M&M AU:
Margarita is not a part of the main plot. I have plans for her storyline, which would be pretty similar to the original with her becoming a witch, but with different motivations and more character development.
Woland interacts with the master without his servants. I have a 9000 word fanfic written in russian about their first encounter.
Here’s the link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/57835000/chapters/147206677
For those who don’t speak russian here’s a short summary. It is important, because most of my M&M fanart depicting the master is based on the Fight Club AU, rather than on the actual events (boring straight romance with him being a depressed self insert without any depth).
In a nutshell the master is an apathetic historian/archivist whose whole life is based on his work in the Moscow Planetarium, which isn’t enjoyable anymore, but the rest of the world is even more undesirable. He exists in a sort of coma, feeling nothing, reading and writing instinctively with professionalism but without any interest.
Then he meets Woland, gets in an existential crisis, gets fired, attempts to jump off a bridge, gets interrupted by Woland, attacks him in resentment and they fight. Master experiences true anger for the first time. They end up lying on the ground, covered in dust and blood, laughing at each other. Later they agree to meet again and to repeat the fight. Sergei Berdyaev (the master) rejects his name and Woland suggests that he could go by the name Steingut (a kind of clay, the symbol of an ongoing rebirth).
After that Steingut wins a lot of money in a lottery (very very coincidentally totally not demonic help), so he stops worrying about working and just waits for Woland’s return, admiring his bruises and blood stains on his clothes.
But Woland doesn’t appear for weeks. Steingut's body is almost recovered and he is starting to forget the memories connected to those injuries, which deeply terrifies him. He feels incomplete, feels like he is going insane sitting in a room alone with nobody to talk to and nothing to do.
He decides to write down the events that shaped him, but realizes that he is unworthy of mentioning someone of that significance directly. By doing that he would defile the truth and its importance with his subjective judgment. So he switches up the names and writes about the director of Variety theater and his administrator fighting because of a misunderstanding, later organizing “The Fighting citizens club” together.
Only after he finishes writing, he hears a whisper in his ear asking him what he wanted to achieve with this story. “I wanted to survive” the master finishes his rebirth exhausted and sleep deprived. Woland treats him to dinner. As a reward Woland offers the master to make a wish. He wishes for Woland to visit him more often. They make plans to plant a copy of the master’s book on the table of the real administrator of Variety theater to see what would happen.
So, let’s talk about the master (Sergei Berdyaev -> Steingut -> the master):
After the rebirth the master’s main goal is to survive. But his meaning of “surviving” was warped into “constantly moving and changing”, so in that sense being around Woland is the perfect way to survive. But if Woland decides to spend time with someone, they need to be intelligent and entertaining. Because of that the master is always scared of not being enough, so he has to constantly educate himself to come up with interesting ways to ensue chaos. This time Woland stumbled not on a sad philosopher, but on an intelligent animal desperately trying to adapt.
He doesn’t strive for much, but he is willing to go to great lengths to achieve his survival.
The master is terrified of Woland just as much as he dreads Woland’s absence. He is very careful with his words around him, which Woland is annoyed by. To get rid of the master’s cowardice Woland angers him. Then the master becomes petty and forgets that he is speaking with someone so powerful and dangerous, which in turn leads to more meaningful and truthful interactions.
Fun fact: the master is unaware that his main goal is to survive. He thinks he is constantly moving and changing because he is looking for a purpose (because it is a more normal thing to do). There would be a separate fic about him realizing that through extreme chaos exposure. He goes through literal torture willingly just to prove Woland wrong (with Woland still being right in the end).
Woland plans to destroy the master’s desire for purpose, leaving with just a strong desire to live while believing that there is nothing worth living for.
And then get him into heaven. Like, if heaven is all about unchanging bliss, than the master who technically fought the Devil and lived without that much sin could get there and be immune to this pleasant hipnosis. He could be the only one awake and cause all sorts of trouble (even unwillingly).
The master isn’t aware of this scheme and doesn’t even want to go to heaven because of his incompatibility with peace and absence of change.
Hannibal crossover stuff:
Use of technology is not crucial to the plot of Hannibal so 1930s AU is pretty reasonable. It happens after the end of the series, everyone is alive and well, just in hiding. Hannibal would try to kill the master for ruining an opera performance as part of their own show with Woland, but he doesn’t know about Woland’s existence yet.
Another fun fact: Hannibal canonically admires Mephistopheles and despises Faust.
So Hannibal stalks the master and attacks him in his living room, the master fights back with Woland sitting behind the dining table unnoticed. He telepathically warns the master about surprise attacks but doesn’t intervene because he knows that the master likes the adrenaline.
When both opponents are tired and can’t fight anymore he stands up and politely apologizes for the inconvenience they caused in the opera, inviting Hannibal and Will for dinner.
All of them meet each other soon enough. Hannibal can’t stop fangirling over Woland (Meph) and both the master and Will are jealous. The master and Will bond over their attachment to their literal and metaphorical devil and the stress involved in caring so much about him. The master still dislikes Hannibal for trying to kill him over a prank, but Hannibal noticed enough similarities with Will to change his mind. Woland is intrigued with all of them equally, planning to turn their relationship into endless entertainment.
Tumblr media
I hope you enjoyed reading this abomination! I’ll post my Woland/ the master fanart soon. Feel free to leave your opinions and suggestions in the comments!

Existential Crisis Lore #2 Greater anatomy and the power of Placeholding! Greaters are genuinly and utterly immortal and invincible beings but what exactly are they made of? The answer is, nothing much really... No seriously the actual entity itself is called the Nucleus and what you almost always see is their avatar composed of null-matter called Placeholder Matter. This non-descript and non-entity sludge is used to create any form the greater desires albeit usually one tied to their divine theme. The nucleus however can be seen as a sort of existential diamond, greaters are effectivly cosmic conceptual energies which have undergone aeons of development, existential pressure and change and compactulated into tiny indestructable cores, like coal into diamonds... except with the very essenece of creation. However do not fool yourself into thinking these nucleus are a weak point as they are as utterly invincible as the gloopy matter avatars they are contained within! However if the nucleus is knocked around their tooney container the avatar will warp and distort which is why greaters despite being invincible react very comically and toonish to large attacks. The diagram above displays just how simple greater anatomy truly is and has several numbered illustraitions which I will now describe below. 1. The Necleus itself, the true entity, the true greater. I can freely travel within it's avatar or even leave it at will. It can also bend the placeholder matter without limitation. Indestructable and immortal it serves as a creational beacon from which entire multiverses are made... and destroyed. 2. Some examples of Nucleus outside an avatar. They come in a plathora of colours and in a veriaty of diamond shaped forms! 3. Placeholder matter, this is the blank canvas from which a greater forms it's identity. This inert goopy mess is what gives greaters thier signiture cartoon-like qualities, it's almost like their made of ink... 4. A globdule of placeholder matter seperated from the avatar, it is now effectivly nothing, a smear of positivly null matter. However it has been known to eventually become a Nothing Matters. 5. The greater's original universe containing an entire multiverse and it's contents. They have have a glass-like outer shell protecting it from outside influence and is under the protection of the greater themself. 6. A closer look at the inside of a universe shell. They can honestly contain anything, the greater's imagination is the limit so this example simply shows a classic swirly universe. 7. An example of how greaters can take any form they please and can rapidly change batween them. This example shows Spotlight in a more lizard-like configeration. While this is a lot of text the nutshell is: Slime avatar with the true entity being a vunny diamond floating inside. I hope this post helped clarify how greaters work even more for you all. If you'd like to learn more about original universes check out the first lore post linked below! https://www.tumblr.com/skittleswonders/712797082134691840/existential-crisis-lore-1-so-you-may-have?source=share

Is it The End for the Summer Blockbuster?
Where is our Jaws? Our Dark Knight? Our Barbenhiemer? So far the summer of 2024 has been a summer bummer.
Hollywood is facing an existential crisis.
The linked story above, from the L.A. Times, is behind a paywall, so in a nutshell, the industry's hotly anticipated summer blockbuster has yet to materialize. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the widely anticipated savior of summer 2024, while a critical success, has been a financial disaster. With a budget of $168 mil, it has yet to recoup its production costs.
Tumblr media
Good reviews, but disappointing returns render Furiosa a commercial bomb for Hollywood
Same for The Fall Guy, another hotly anticipated blockbuster that fell flat. Insiders thought the action comedy, starring Ryan Gosling, fresh off the heels of 2023's blockbuster Barbie and having a swell moment after the Oscars, would be a hit. Sadly, the numbers are dismal and reviews, mixed.
Tumblr media
The Fall Guy falls flat
Netflix's The Hit Man has made some waves but hardly enough to call it a summer boon. The Richard Linklater affable rom-com is pleasant enough, but lacks the pizazz, financial windfall and je ne sais quois that have come to be the hallmarks of a summer blockbuster.

Nice, but it doesn't hit
What is UP, Hollywood??
Why the dearth of great summer films that used to have audiences swooning, sweating or staying out of the water? Many factors have converged to create the lack of thrilling movies in the heat-searing months, including:
Changing public appetites - People aren't drawn to movie theaters anymore. Why would they be when a Friday night movie date can cost upwards of $100 for tix, popcorn and drink and much more if it's a dine-in? Most people find the entertainment they need from streaming services or their phone, all in the comfort of their home.
A scarcity of content - Hollywood is still reeling from COVID and the writers strike of 2023. These lengthy battles disrupted production schedules, placing projects on hold and cancelling others outright. Writers are still struggling, despite the so-called successful contract negotiations between the Alliance of Motion Pictures and Television Producers and the Writer's Guild of America, with studios cutting back on production and finding ways around using the normal slate of writers on projects.
Original or adapted works are out the window - If the Marvel universe taught Hollywood anything, it's that IP can be reengineered again and again (ad nauseum) at a massive profit. When the studios focus resources and efforts into regurgitating old plots and characters based on known intellectual property, they have little appetite for original works or adapted screenplays that can turn into masterpieces and become part of the cultural zeitgeist (such as Jaws, E.T., Back to the Future, The Sixth Sense, Oppenheimer, Barbie).
Tumblr media
A great white shark that had a taste for beach-goers, JAWS (1975) was the first summer blockbuster and changed the landscape of movie-making forever.
Tumblr media
E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (1982) warmed our hearts and made Reeses Pieces famous.
Tumblr media
Back To The Future's Doc and Marty and the time-traveling Deloran kept us laughing and enthralled (1985).
Tumblr media
In The Sixth Sense (1999), a little boy could see dead people and audiences gasped at the ending - arguably one of the best twists in movie history.
Tumblr media
Oppenheimer (2023) gave us a history lesson in the horrors of nuclear war.
Tumblr media
Barbie (2023) kept us in pink stitches.
C'mon, Mr. Spielberg/Ms. Gerwig/Mr. Shyamalan. We need a summer hit.
Tumblr media
What is it going to take to have another iconic, memorable summer blockbuster? No one knows. The Hollywood landscape is changing drastically with technological disruptions and mergers of major studios that concentrate output (and continue to displace creatives). Much like Jaws changed the landscape of movie-making forever, someday another film will burst forth, changing the playbook of what it means to be a blockbuster.

hey remeber that one au where magento is Fearless's dad
nutshell summary on the custody battle
In a Nutshell...
For some reason Magneto finds out about Fearless location and wants to do better.
Too bad Fearless is already Megatron's kid.
There may have been a chance for kinapping which would have been BAD id Fearless's life wasn't in danger if a full on battle happened.
Megatron has Fearless in one servo and glaring at Magneto.
The ship is right behind him when Magneto claims to be Fearless's bio dad and wants them to come to Earth.
There are debates between the two once they recognize each other as sophisticated in the word of tongue.
Fearless meanwhile is having an existential crisis realizing who their bio dad was and slightly miffed that they didn't get powers.

Vague WIP Summary
Tagged by the fantastic @winglesswriter
Rules: Summarize your WIP in 15 bullet points, but do it badly
Passing the tag onto @ryns-ramblings @minutiaewriter @writingamongther0ses @christaaah @meerawrites @cee-grice and leaving an open tag for folk who may want to join in :)
Consider this a bad summary of Blood Covenant (Formerly known as Blood Harmony- but I've changed the title to something that fits the themes better- I hope!)
Mavis' character arc in a nutshell:
One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter
Small act of terrorism/freedom fighting
Have first kiss with Nemesis before being blown up
Survive
Indulge in some daddy issues
Get expelled for being too good at your job
Make plans to redeem yourself
Get a tattoo
Redeem yourself
Get kicked out again- this time for being bad at your job
Confront your daddy issues and childhood trauma
Repress that trauma through alcohol and bad decisions. Have an existential crisis/pity party
Use those bad decisions (and a crowbar) to work on healing your inner child
Confront Daddy Issues with the crowbar, and some mild arson
Learn absolutely nothing from all of this; repress everything, and get on with life.
