I know very little about modding other than there are a LOT of mods out there for Mass Effect and that @average-mako-enjoyer was telling me about a cool save editor. Then I stumbled across a mention of the Expanded Galaxy Mod (LE) and hit it, Liara!

This thing would practically make the trilogy a new game! Look at what it includes:

Improved Terminal Set XO, Marine Lieutenant and Chief Engineer. Requires certain levels of conversation before individuals are unlocked. Set other crew including Marines, medics, engineers and chef or barman. Require senior officers. Crew Manifest reflects Shepard's and crew's personal history. Set Normandy equipment including vehicles and customisable firing range options. Access Spectre Mail. Set your squad powers and combat gear. Gameplay Set mission timings for major missions like Priority:Tuchanka, Priority: Perseus Veil (Geth missions) and Priority:Thessia. Complete DLC without feeling like you are supposed to be somewhere urgently. Instead you can optionally set the conversation to human in the war room or vid call at your leisure (set in EGM Settings). The Alliance will give Shepard an extra 25,000 credits on boarding the Normandy to reflect an initial budget (and help towards expensive weapons). Deck 1 Cabin Invites - once romances are locked in you can invite your love interest to the cabin (if they are on the Normandy). This includes: Liara, Kaidan, Ashley, Garrus, Steve, Samantha and Tali. Each has a few interactive scenes. Cabin Photo - all romances have a photo. Interactive. Various collectables including Mako model, Hammerhead model, Collector's Blade, Shepard's Helmet and many more. View Medals (as per ME2) Deck 2 Bridge - shutters restored.CIC - Traynor's dialogue won't be cut-off if you open the galaxy map or use the elevator. Deck 3 Liara's Room - Ashley conversation restored. A cut conversation between Ashley and Liara is restored (Localized). Ashley will visit Liara's office post coup.- Fixed screens so they don't invert. A variety of screens will show.- Ilos painting (if the player completed LOTSB in ME2)- Normandy photo (if the player romanced Liara in ME1)- Liara bed scene (if the player has a loyal romance in ME1/2/3 or has locked in romance in ME3) Crew hanging around in the mess hall may include marines and others. Life Support used as office (sometimes) Arms back in Life Support (if Marine rating is medium to high) Fix shutters in Port/Starboard Observation rooms Medical bay will slightly change depending if player purchased the upgrade in ME2.If Garrus is dead he will be replaced by a crewman as Gunnery Officer. Pick bonus giving medics (requires Chief Medical Officer) Pick Barman or Chef (requires XO). They will feed Shepard's fish. Decor in mess hall and bar may reflect which is chosen (as will behaviour of some crew). Deck 4 Windows opened up on the Cargo deck in Javik's room and Starboard Cargo. Pick Geth/Quarian Engineers (requires Chief Engineer) New store allows purchase of Normandy upgrades. Deck 5 Shooting range - can be purchased from Deck 4 engineering terminal. Customisable in Manifest. Armory - as you find and gather more weapons you can view them in your armory. A small bonus is available for collecting the majority.Secondary vehicles including Mako, Hammerhead, Trident and others can be purchased after Vega destroys the spare shuttle in Priority:Mars. Customisable in Manifest. Javelin Missiles available. ME2 Weapons imports - Direct import from ME2 (Not New Game Plus). Authorise Cortez to bring the crate on board after the first dock at the Citadel. Weapons reflect ME2 level. All weapons will go to Level X once box has been opened. Crate will disappear after 6-7 missions. Mechdog has a greater variety of ambient chatter restored. New Alliance Requisitions store contains some late game Alliance weapons if you want them early. Entire Ship Marines will guard doors at various key points depending on selected security level. Use ducts to travel between decks. FTL VFX on all windows.

Setting an XO, more crew, more invites up for your love interest, the return of the medals (achievements), picking a barman/chef, opening the shutters in Javik's room (I legit used to look at Grunt through those shutters in ME2, I don't even know why, lol! I just used to check to see if he was there 🤷‍♀️), MAKING USE OUT OF LIFE SUPPORT (I still tend to go in there to look around despite the fact no one has been in there since Thane in ME2) and more interaction/sounds from KEI-9 (aka Mechdog) would all be things I'd be SO interested in! But really all of it sounds amazing, like it would add an extra amount of life to the Normandy and that would be so awesome! 🤗🤗🤗

I'm still trying to get a bunch more achievements so don't want to risk any changes/mods until I'm done, but I was just all starry eyed reading about these things and wanted to see if anybody out there uses this mod or any others? 😎😉

A brief description of each mod is included for clarity's sake, and each mod is linked to its nexusmod page.

MASS EFFECT MODS

Advanced Weapon Models for LE1: Replaces the weapon models in LE1 with their counterparts from LE2 and LE3

Casual Hubs for LE1: Allows Shepard and squadmates to wear casual outfits on the Citadel and Noveria instead of armor. Galaxy Map Trackers (LE1): Tracks active and undiscovered UNC side quests on the galaxy map. Halcyon Hairpack (LE1): Adds new hairstyles for NPCs based on hairstyles from The Outer Worlds. Keepers Finders (LE1): Marks unscanned Keepers from the quest Scan the Keepers on Citadel maps. LE1 Community Patch: Fixes bugs. LE1 Diversification Project: Reblances NPC populations & diversifies outfits/apperances.

No Skill Check Required for Loot (LE1): Allows you to open loot boxes automatically, without needing to pass a Decryption or Electronics skill check.

Normandy Rapid Transit: Adds the Normandy as a Rapid Transit destination on the Citadel. Pinnacle Station DLC: Adds the Pinnacle Station DLC back into Legendary Edition. Same-Gender Romances for LE1: Allows Ashley and Kaiden to be romanced by both male and female Shepard. Saren Stages LE: Adds new appearances for Saren so that he gradually transforms to have more and more geth implants, rather than starting out that way. Skip Minigames (LE1): Removes mini games or allows them to be skipped without an omnigel cost. Unlimited Sprint: Allows Shepard to run forever.

Virmire Savior Mod: Allows both Ashley and Kaiden to survive Virmire. MASS EFFECT 2 MODS Casual Hubs for LE2: Allows Shepard and squadmates to wear casual clothes on the Citadel, Omega, and Illium, and gives certain squadmates casual appearances on the Normandy. Early Recruitment: Allows recruitment of late-game squadmates such as Tali, Legion, Thane, and Samara earlier in the game. Expanded Shepard Armory (ESA) LE2: Unlocks helmet-less versions of the official DLC armors, as well as adds additional armors and casual outfits. Genesis Intro Dialogue Undo Mod - Legendary Edition: Restores the original Mass Effect 2 opening dialogue from before BioWare created the Genesis 2 DLC, while retaining all features of the Genesis Recap comic. More Gay Romances for LE2: Allows female Shepard to romance Miranda and Jack. No Headgear for Squadmates: Removes (or alters) the headgear on squadmates' Alternate Appearance Pack armors. Oriana looks like Miranda's Twin (ME2LE): Makes Oriana look like Miranda. Overlord Morality Fix: Grants morality points for choosing the fate of David Archer in the Overlord DLC. Same-Gender Romances for LE2: Allows Tali and Thane to be romanced by both male and female Shepard and allows imports of FemShep/Ashley and MaleShep/Kaidan romances. Skip Mini Games: Skips hacking and bypass mini games. Unlimited Sprint: Allows Shepard to run forever. Unofficial LE2 Patch: Fixes bugs. Virmire Savior Mod: Maintains continuity from the LE1 mod where you can save both Ashley and Kaidan. MASS EFFECT 3 MODS Anderson's Final Conversation Restored: Restores cut content during Anderson's final scene.

Dreams Remade: Changes Gameplay and cutscenes of the dream sequences of ME3 to give more representation of player choices and reduce the presence of the child.

Expanded Galaxy Mod (LE): Adds quality of life improvements, customizations to the Normandy, new visitors, makes the galactic war more immersive, and adds bonus squadmates from ME1 & 2 that can be taken on certain missions. Expanded Universe - Mod Menu: Allows a user to set what books, comics, games and films they have read/played in a mod menu to allow other mods to check what you've seen and tailor content specifically for those who have seen certain parts of the expanded universe. Kasumi Dress to Citadel: Allows Shepard to wear the dress from Kasumi's loyalty mission in ME2 in the Citadel DLC. LE3 Community Patch & Framework: Fixes bugs. LE3 Diversification Project: Reblances NPC populations & diversifies outfits/apperances. Miranda Mod (LE3): Allows Miranda to be recruited as a squadmate after Priority: Horizon. More Gay Romances for LE3: Allows femShep to carryover a romance with Miranda or Jack from Mass Effect 2. No Reapers and Max Scan Range: Disallows reapers from chasing you on the galay map and increases scan range to the entire system at once.

Spectre Expansion Mod: Improves the Shadow Broker and Spectre terminals, gives the player new difficult choices to consider via Spectre authorisations, improves the presence of background races in ME3, and expands the galaxy map to provide clues to the battles happening beyond the scope of Shepard’s missions.

Take Earth Back: Overhauls the final mission of Mass Effect 3 with the aim of representing the allies you have gathered over the course of the trilogy, fixing bugs and adding ambient immersive events.

Unlimited Sprint: Lets Shepard run forever.

Virmire Savior Mod: Maintains continuity regarding Kaiden and Ashley both surviving Virmire and both can be recruited after Priority: The Citadel II.

Sorry about the spam liking I have developed an obsession for your page lol. Also, you're the one who introduced me to voker and I immediately loved it, but sadly the fanfiction and fanart are limited in that section. One more thing, you mention that you could romance kaiden in me1 of you add mods, which mods may those be? Please, I've played me1 and me2 three times just for kaiden alenko

It always cracks me up when people apologize for spam liking because tbh I love it. I love seeing someone going through my stuff and obviously approving of all my obsessive madness. Validation X'D

But yes, mods! Absolute king, rondeeno, over on Nexusmods has finished a same sex romance mod for ME1 and is currently working on one for 2 (and will being doing 3 as well). You can download it here though make sure you download the ME3Tweaks Mod Manager first! Especially if you plan on doing more mods. A lot of them require it fore MELE but it's also just convenient. And for god's sake, make yourself a vanilla back up of your game to reinstall from so you don't have to completely redownload shit if stuff gets fucked up 8'D

So I decided to squeeze in a ME3 (only) playthrough to finally do MShep and an Engineer in ME3.  I started this guy many years ago and never went very far with him, despite really loving the character design.  BTW, I captioned all the screenshots above if you wanna clickthrough. So (re)meet Aldis.  I tried to do his initial facial design off of Aldis Hodge, though I’m bad at creating/mimicking faces I think he still turned out as one of the most attractive mSheps I’ve ever seen, if I can say so mysellf without sounding too braggadocios. :) When I made him, there were a couple of goals I wanted to accomplish... Obviously, just finally do ME3 with a MShep.  I did ME1 and ME2 with one even longer ago, but I romanced Liara in those and I really wanted to see a MShenko romance, to see the more gradual “Hey let’s get together” in ME3 instead of the “let’s reaffirm our relationship” like with my FemShep.  I also wanted to do a more renegade playthrough, since it’s been many years since I did my Femshep Shakarian Renegade playthrough.  He is still the “I’m nice to my crew, and I’ll try a diplomatic approach but my tolerance for bullshit is near zero.”  And last, I’m just gonna wear a bunch of the dumb armors I almost never wear and just try and do things different in other ways than my main FemShep. Since the next time I do a full trilogy playthrough, it’ll be with my canon femshep in the Legacy and there may not be the possibility of mods then, I wanted a heavily modded run to see all the mods again, plus the improvements since my last ME3 playthrough about a year and a half ago.  So this time I’m playing with:

Lights Effect as the FX mod

Girl Plays Game Hair Mods as DLC (Maleshep’s ”Macho” is the specific hair mod.)

Project Variety, which, btw means no Thanemod or Backoff. because they’re incompatible.  Project Variety adds SO MUCH to the game, several of which are highlighed in the screenshots above.

Expanded Galaxy Mod (I have no idea how I can ever play without this mod again, gonna make the LE playthrough so hard and bland.)

Spectre Expansion Mod... also one I don’t ever want to live without in the future.

I have MEHEM installed because... yeah.  I still don’t feel like not having a happy ending.

So of course Citadel Epilogue Mod to close out the game.

ME3 Recalibrated to fix all the lore and errors that need fixing.

And Better Journal to make quest descriptions better.

Casual Outfits for MShep.  There’s also other new casual outfits installed for MShep and I don’t know where they came from, but I do love them. (See pics for more.)

Priority Earth Overhaul Mod to make the endgame even more epic.  The creator also made Immersive Thessia which is sadly incompatible with Project Variety so for now I’m not using this... maybe a future playthrough will swap out PJ for Immersive Thessia, ThaneMod and BackOff again.

Omega Hub for extra Omega content post Omega-DLC, really looking forward to seeing the improvements in this one.  It was just a fun 10-minute diversion last time I played through.

Ark Mod for extra missions that bridge the gap between ME3 and Andromeda.

Better Dreams for awesome and non-annoying dreaming... getting rid of The Kid as much as possible.

Alliance Warpack for more Companion outfits.

Citadel DLC Redone so most companions wear unique casual outfits during Citadel DLC

ME3 Opening Remaster to make those few seconds of the opening a little more epic.

Miranda Mod to have Miranda on the Normandy and give her cool stuff to do after Horizon.  Also if you’re a Miranda Romancer gives her a better ME3 romance.  Also better clothes.

Respawn - Mission Overhaul IDK why it’s hidden on the Nexus, but I had an old download I’m using.  Makes combat more difficult by giving the bad guys more varied powers.  A nice change of difficulty without making it crazy on normal.

Allers Redone to put Allers in a decent outfit.  Still don’t know if I’m going to bother talking to her, though I did put her on the ship.

A Lot Of Videos 4k - I’m a 4k gamer finally.... I want what I can make look good... look good.

I’m NOT using ALOT this time -- I didn’t want to not be able to easily fix things should some mod installation be wonky.  I figure the Legendary Edition is gonna be my big “Take ALL THE PRETTY SCREENSHOTS!!” time... this one is just for fun, and enjoying the mods and my pretty, pretty mShep.

Verizon adds Washington DC, Atlanta, Detroit and Indianapolis to list of 5G cities

This morning Verizon (TechCrunch’s parent company) flipped the 5G switch on four additional cities. Washington DC, Atlanta, Detroit and Indianapolis join Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis/St. Paul and Providence in getting coverage for the carrier’s growing next-generation network.

All of the usual caveats apply here. While the list of cities continues to grow, coverage varies from city to city to such a point where Verizon currently includes specific neighborhoods in these announcements. Here’s the break down,

In Washington DC, consumers, businesses and government agencies can initially access Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband service in areas of Foggy Bottom, Dupont Circle, Cardozo / U Street, Adams Morgan, Columbia Heights, Le Droit Park, Georgetown Waterfront, Judiciary Square, Shaw, Eckington, NOMA, National Mall and the Smithsonian, Gallery Place / Chinatown, Mt. Vernon Square, Downtown, Penn Quarter, Brentwood, Southwest Waterfront, Navy Yard, and nearby Crystal City, VA, as well as around landmarks such as the Ronald Reagan National Airport, United States Botanical Gardens, Hart Senate Building, National Gallery of Art, Lafayette Square, The White House, Freedom Plaza, Farragut Square, George Washington University, Capital One Arena, Union Station, Howard University Hospital, George Washington University Hospital, and Georgetown Waterfront Park.

In Indianapolis, 5G Ultra Wideband service is initially available in parts of the following neighborhoods, Arsenal Heights, Bates Hendricks, Castleton, Crown Hill, Fountain Square, Grace Tuxedo Park, Hawthorne, Historic Meridian Park, Lockerbie Square, Ransom Place, Renaissance Place, St. Joseph Historic Neighborhood, Upper Canal and Woodruff Place and around such landmarks and public spaces as Garfield Park, and Indiana University School of Medicine.

The carrier adds that service will be expanded within the above cities “in the months to come.” But hey, the White House is covered, which means even more rapid tweet storms. Verizon is adding a bunch more cities by the end of the year, including Boston, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Des Moines, Houston, Kansas City, Little Rock, Memphis, Phoenix, San Diego and Salt Lake City.

That will bring the total up to 30 for 2019.

The device selection is still limited, too for the moment. Verizon currently offers the LG V50 ThinQ 5G, Samsung Galaxy S10 5G and the Moto Z, which has an option 5G mod. There’s a 5G MiFi from Inseego available, as well.

I'm considering playing the original ME3 with the Expanded Galaxy mod. I remember you saying you've played with it.

What are the major additions/changes you notice? Does it add to the experience in an authentic way? Since you've played MELE ME3 recently without the mod, do you find you miss the EGM?

There are tons of changes and additions

- improved war asset system

You don't need to scour the galaxy but if you want to they added more assets to find and if you don't you can still get the "good" ending just by completing all the dlc(at least in my experience)

Shepard's personal computer had a bunch of options to give roles to your crew, add a chef and decide what kind of security detail you wanted

You could bring me2 squad mates with you on side misson. There wasn't dialog but they were fully functional like they would be in the combat sim

If you romanced someone you could invite them to your cabin and even got a picture of them by your bed

New swatches for hair and eyes in the cc(which did make it into the LE)

Tons of easter eggs which were my favorite part, made it hard to differentiate between what is canon and what isn't after a while but still fun regardless

You could choose your armor before a mission so if there were any kinda changes you forgot to make no need to worry because you can make them last minute

Got a shooting range in the shuttle bay, I never used it but it was pretty nifty

Could add vehicles to the shuttle bay as well

There are more but those are the ones that stick out the most

It does! I loved what it added to the base game, yeah you knew it was a mod but it all blended so seamlessly that I often forget what was a mod and what wasn't it had a bunch of cool add ons too! If you're a miri fan I definitely recommend the Miranda mod especially if you romance her.

Oh absolutely, that mod made an already great game better, like I miss being able to invite up Kaidan the most and not having miri on the ship makes me sad :( not to mention the vanilla war asset system orz

I did notice they added some features from it mainly just the cc swatches and I'm pretty sure kei-9 was part of the mod too but don't quote me on that.

In all honesty while I still enjoy the game it feels a little lacking without egm.
