Gaia's Surprise

Gaia has been scanning the sky now since 2012 but is soon due to be decommissioned, but it's scanned billions of stars in our Milky Way enabling astronomers to produce an amazing map of our galaxy, at least those parts we can see.

In the previous data release by Gaia, two interesting systems were found, Gaia 4 & 5, two low mass red dwarfs 244 light years and 144 light years respectively.

Both small stars appear to have extra large planetary companions, one being a brown dwarf, and the other a large Jupiter sized planet.

The surprise is, such small stars are theorised to not generally hold such large planets. and so these two, are upending assumptions, and when Gaia finally ends it's mission in March and sends it's final upload, it may reveal many many more examples, the tip of a iceberg that challenges assumptions.

Of course, there are other possibilities here, planets can be passed between stars, they can be thrown out into space, and then collected again. There has been speculation about Uranus in relation to this in the past.

In a close cluster, it's reasonable to imagine stars, planets, and many rogues being passed around between the cluster, before finally settling or being ejected out of the cluster.

As these small low mass stars make up more than 70% of all stars, it's perfectly reasonable to imagine they are like a heavenly sponge, picking up the neglected and ejected planets .

Ultra Hot Jupiter

The very first exoplanets that were discovered were all Hot Jupiter type planets, mostly because the influence of the gravity between the star and the planet were the easiest to detect back then.

Decades later, we've found many examples of such planets so close to the star, that they seem incredibly alien to us, day time temperatures above 2000'c, so hot molecules break up into individual elements then recombine on the night side.

One such planet WASP 121b's atmosphere has recently been studied to understand quite how that dynamic would work.

The planet is 881 light years from Earth in the constellation of Puppis, and is thought to be so close to the star, that if it got any closer, the planet would likely be ripped to bits.

I think that there is something to be said about the original cryo plan- the fact that john wanted to stuff 11 billion people in cryogenic chambers and then defrost them on an explanet after an indefinite amount of time and his treatment of it like it’s a viable good plan and not existentially HORRIFYING is so utterly deranged to me. especially this passage, it’s so “they won’t let us do the cryo plan because it’s not good or moral or safe🙄😒😒. stupid FTL.” John Gaius cannot even make his own rise to power sound charitable to himself

there’s also something about the way it parallels what he actually does to the Earth’s souls- his goal had started out as preservation and then became consumption in a fit of anguish following him nuking everyone- which is also a nice parallel to lyctorhood. much to think about

In this universe humans and demons live togueter, angels are a myth and are called bird winged demons or bird demons by older folks, all demons have "human" forma but it still show some demon qualaties like horns, ears and tail

There are dif kinds of demons: colored, sucubus/incubus/concubus and incolor

Colored demons in "human" form have the white part of the eye black and their palm is tinted the color of their blood, theyre blood can be any color, that color also matching their eyes and skin in demon form, their tail is a normal lizard tail

Sucubus demons in "human" form have heart shaped irisis, and their tail have some kind of heart shape in it, it can be at the end, in the beguining all over it etc, they alao have the "sucubus mark" some where in their body, their demon form have the same color skin as their human form but the horns get bigger and só does the tail, ALSO! sucubus dont need to feed out of expecificaly sexual love, they can feed out of all types of love if its directed thwoards them, most of they choose sexual love cause its easier and some times adictive

Incolor demons are a sub catagory of colored demons, they are usually emontionless but thats just what people think of them, their "human" form are similar to the colored ones but with Black, greys and whites instead, same for their demon form

Not all demons have demon forms and some/most of them get bullied by that in schools, causing distrais for them

Greys -> succubis -> colors (in order)

The implications of Scar being alive after his win. Hes still out there. Instead of getting admin killed or even doing it himself, he lives. He doesn't get reclaimed by the watchers, taken to the void, doesn't become a ghost. Nothing. He ends on five and a half hearts.

Scar doesn't die.

After succeeding he goes back home.

Well, no. Before that he goes back to the ditch, he buries Pearl's body. Marka the grave, too, which is more than most have gotten. He buries them all, actually. Scar roots through explosion craters and visits bases he doesn't belong in. He even finds and returns Lizzie's spine to her.

And then he returns to Sunflower Valley. He rebuilds Trader Scar's, he builds up more buildings from the ground up. Buildings—homes for people. People who are going to be long, long gone by the time he's finished.

He builds a village. It takes hard work, a lot of time, and, frankly, emotional turmoil. It's a very weird, sentimental process for him, but it helps him cope. He thinks. Maybe it's just him being crazy, maybe it's just his red craze.

But point is, he makes a new life for himself. He makes a village, he wonders if the ghosts that roam live in the homes he builds for them.

After the game ends, the border fizzles out. He explores past it, but not too far. Scar doesn't want to move on from them yet. So he doesn't. Not until most, if not all his hair has gone white, whether from age or from being red so long.

Because Scar lived.

She's dead, he won. He builds Pearl's house next to his.
