David Duchovny To Narrate ‘Veselka,’ About Ukrainian Restaurant in NYC. – Deadline

Actor David Duchovny has signed on to narrate Veselka: The Rainbow on the Corner at the Center of the World, a documentary about a Ukrainian restaurant in New York City that has mobilized to aid Ukraine following Russia’s brutal invasion of that country.

Duchovny grew up within shouting distance of the restaurant, located in Manhattan’s Little Ukraine. The film directed by Michael Fiore examines the origins of the establishment, the relationship of father-son proprietors Tom and Jason Birchard, and the restaurant’s efforts to support Ukraine in a moment of existential crisis.

Feb 23 - put away the laundry from yesterday. Baked a loaf of seed bread.

For supper I riffed on a dish my dad used to make, involving pork chops braised with onions, sweet peppers, thickly sliced potatoes and carrots, and lots of paprika.

It was like a secret, a guilty pleasure, how much Nadia loved to gossip. Maybe it was the rarity of it, that she could only do it with certain people, or when she was truly switched off from captain duties (lets be real, she was never switched off from that).
