while 84 percent of Americans say that most people need life insurance,

This morning was spent in the office going through the accounts and teaching Honorina a bit of accountancy.  After lunch we then managed to get back out into the field to meet a couple of families. Both of these were in G/Lambo where I visited on day 1. They both had the best marks (yellow card) for the quality of their houses and goats and had lovely stories about how FFHC had helped them. One family had 10 children and 15 grand children, and had used the sale of a buck to purchase a door for their new house. They had the best views of any house on the planet as well. We had an interesting time inspecting the houses, with the differences to the day before amazing. One family had used the sale of a goat to purchase a door for their new house. Another had used a loan from his savings group (a project that FFHC started in each village for all recipients to teach them how to save money for the future) to purchase a  solar panel and now has satellite tv! They were so grateful for the help they have received they gave a huge bag of beans they had produced to Honorina.

More car excitement today in a land rover, with the seat Honorina was sitting on falling off half way through to leave her sitting on the floor. Very nice day with amazing views, and meeting families who had really benefitted from the program by doing what they had been taught and were really grateful for the help they had received.

Prefeitura de São Paulo quer bloquear bens da Fundação FHC

A Prefeitura de São Paulo prepara uma ação para tentar bloquear bens em nome da fundação do ex-presidente Fernando Henrique Cardoso (PSDB) a fim de quitar dívidas tributárias, num total de R$ 32 mil. Desde 2014, sete processos para cobrar o Imposto Predial e Territorial Urbano (IPTU) estão parados na Vara de Execuções Fiscais de São Paulo. Os valores cobrados pelo município são referentes a 2013 e devem aumentar com o acréscimo de juros.  Em documento assinado pela procuradora-chefe de gabinete da Procuradoria Geral do Município, Luciana Sant’Ana Nardi, “houve citação do devedor (Fundação Fernando Henrique Cardoso) e o Departamento Fiscal está tomando as devidas providências para constrição de bens visando à satisfação dos créditos cobrados”. O questionamento foi feito pela reportagem de O TEMPO por meio do Portal da Transparência de São Paulo. A Fundação Fernando Henrique Cardoso nega que tenha sido citada nas ações. De acordo com dados do Tribunal de Justiça de São Paulo (TJSP), os processos foram protocolados no dia 10 de setembro de 2014. No dia 20 daquele mês, o juiz Laurence Mattos determinou a citação da fundação para apresentação de defesa e pagamento dos débitos. Depois da decisão do juiz, não houve mais nenhum andamento nas ações.  De acordo com o TJSP, há necessidade de provocação da prefeitura para a continuidade das cobranças. Segundo o órgão, as ações ficam paradas mesmo depois de o devedor fazer acordo e pagar as parcelas. “Enquanto ele estiver quitando os débitos, o processo continua sem nenhum andamento no sistema”, afirma o tribunal. Não é o caso da Fundação FHC, que ainda negocia com a prefeitura.  Histórico. A sede da Fundação Fernando Henrique Cardoso fica no centro da capital paulista. Fundada em 2004, a organização tem a finalidade de preservar a documentação do governo do tucano, que presidiu o Brasil de 1995 a 2002. Entre 2004 e 2013, o prédio da Fundação FHC teve isenção de IPTU. “Tratava-se de incentivo fiscal, que tinha como contrapartida a obrigação do condomínio de manter, com recursos próprios, a fachada tombada do edifício”, diz a fundação em nota. Nesse período, o condomínio recebia os carnês de IPTU e os reencaminhava à prefeitura com documentos comprovando a isenção. O Executivo paulistano, então, arcava com o tributo. “Em 2013, a prefeitura deixou de fazer a quitação dos carnês e o débito acabou por ser inscrito em Dívida Ativa. Todos os condôminos estão nessa situação. A partir de 2014, o incentivo fiscal perdeu a vigência e o IPTU passou a ser pago por cada um dos condôminos”, diz outro trecho da nota.  Resposta. A Fundação Fernando Henrique Cardoso (FFHC) afirmou que o pagamento de tributos atrasados será feito ainda neste mês e negou que tenha sido notificada das ações.

Another interesting day. After difficulties with the car our 8.15am departure turned to 9.45, before heading to one of the further away villages for the day. We had full interviews with four of the recipients in the village. This project was one of the first to receive their goats, with many not completing their sheds before receiving the goat. This meant that many had a red card for the quality of their houses and goat sheds.

It was noticeable in this area that the families were much poorer than in the other villages we had visited. The area was noticeably drier, with very few crops growing in the fields and water a good hours walk away. However, the views from there were absolutely stunning! The first recipient we visited had cleverly turned their one goat into eight. However, they had allowed breeding with local goats, which produces a hybrid which is very poor at producing milk and receives a much lower price accordingly. The most striking thing about these villages were the fences used to protect the animals from hyenas. Not being able to afford basic building materials for their houses, let alone their goat sheds, they move the thorniest dead branches they can, to fence off their house and pen in their animals.

As part of the FFHC project, each family is taught how to farm and how to keep a healthy house. A fourteen point guide is recommended, with points such as having a kitchen separate to sleeping area, animal house far from the main house, latrine, washing area, clothes line etc. By ticking each item on the list a family has a happy healthy home. Part of the scorecards are to determine both the families living situation and the goat house and health.

One family visited consisted of a grandmother and her four grandchildren. She also looked after four cows for her cousin, and with little to no income had no way of paying for everything. Through the FFHC project she had 2 goats which provided valuable milk to the family. She was also part of a savings group (run by FFHC), through which she had taken out a loan to pay for food and for the children to go to school. She was looking to repay the loan with sales of chickens later on. A desperate situation, but one where the project was noticeably helping.

On the way back it became apparent why there was such a delay with the car in the morning. With the key in the ignition, the driver continued to jump start the car with two wires hanging out. Not sure why they needed the key! We then tried to get back to Karatu down what only could be described as a goat track. After a lot of joggling we completely ran out of road and had to enlist the help of a passerby to get us back on the right goat track. Despite the financial situation of these families the views they have are just outstanding, no elephants seen yet though!

hello! im gonna be sharing some thoughts and headcanons on genetic diversity in vivosaurs, featuring carchar, and the two extremes of its biology :]

(and yes im gonna be using a redesign of frontier carchar for this)

believe it or not, i can totally imagine frontier carchar and FF/FFC carchar coexisting, and even being members of the exact same species!

first off, yes this is so frontier and FF/FFC can be in the same universe. second of all, i think that vivosaurs as an entire species of their own are extremely... malleable. i cant think of a better word HBAHGBAH but that's canonical!!!! at the beginning of FF, diggins talks about how vivosaurs take on an appearance influenced by the environment around them. first, i think that this can mean that every vivosaur has the potential to be entirely different from the standard of its species, if one desires to manipulate that. and second, while i feel like the possibilities could be endless to vivosaur designs, and that each vivosaur is unique in one way or another, i do think that every vivosaur is limited to the shape of its basic anatomy, and maybe some other loose rules. IE: sauropods stay sauropods. spinosaurs keep their sails, etc

heres a diagram of frontier carchar's and FF carchar's differences, and core similarities. most of these (not all!!) core similarities are traits that have to be shared by all carchar, and the rest is free game. since vivosaurs are practically magic there can definitely be some alterations to its biology. floating parts, glowing insides. a vivosaur could be full of molten magma and be fine.

i think that there's way, way more vivosaur variations than the games could EVER demonstrate. it wouldn't be that uncommon to see a "pyramid" (FFF) carchar variation in caliosteo, or another vivosaur variation that isn't specific to the area its currently in. this would be particularly common in massive tournaments, when people from all over the world come to one place to battle. i imagine boasting about how rare your vivosaurs variation is is rather common.

also, referring to FFF carchar as a "pyramid" variation, i like to imagine that there's nicknames for more common vivosaur variations :] FF/FFC carchar could be known as a... "pharaoh", or an "emperor" variant, and its the most common variant for carchar. vivosaur designs from FF and frontier are probably the most common variants to find.

so... this being said... and the flexibility of vivosaur variations having been discussed, i present to you

Representantes de PT e PSDB se encontraram nessa terça-feira (18, durante debate na Fundação Perseu Abramo (FPA) sobre a maior crise política das últimas décadas.

O evento recebeu Sérgio Fausto, superintendente executivo da Fundação Fernando Henrique Cardoso (FFHC), enquanto cientista político e nome ligado ao PSDB, para discutir a pesquisa Percepções e Valores políticos nas Periferias de São Paulo, ao lado de Andréia Galvão, da Unicamp, e de Giovanni Alves, da Unesp. "Não há parceria ou aproximação com qualquer instituição político-partidária, até porque esta é da esfera restrita de decisão do partido. À FPA não cabe esta atribuição", dizia o texto do evento.

Nos bastidores, segundo petistas, houve chiadeira por parte de algumas alas do partido avessas à possibilidade de que a fundação abrisse suas portas para os arquiadversários. Apesar disso, o debate ocorreu em clima amistoso. A descontração ficou por conta de Fausto, que usou um termo vulgar para descrever o cenário político atual. "Vou usar um português medonho aqui. Deu cagada! E uma cagada mais ou menos generalizada", disse, arrancando risadas. Segundo ele, todos os atores políticos que operaram desde a redemocratização segundo as regras hoje desbaratadas pela operação Lava Jato contribuíram para abrir o caminho até o fundo do poço.

"Não é surpreendente. Todo mundo que participou do processo de redemocratização de um jeito ou de outro operou segundo práticas e dentro de uma lógica que levou à desmoralização do sistema político", afirmou.

Fausto e Marcio Pochmann, professor da Unicamp e presidente da FPA, concordaram que o risco de aprofundamento da crise é real. "O fundamental é a construção de um novo acordo político no Brasil porque aquele que sustentou a transição da ditadura para a democracia está esgotado", disse Pochmann. Segundo ele, a realização das eleições de 2018 não está assegurada.

Por seu lado, Fausto vê importância em um "diálogo mais às claras em torno de uma agenda tem espaço na sociedade brasileira", completou o pesquisador.

i took a shower and the whole time i couldnt stop thinking about how important i think sparring is in dinaurian culture. its kinda even a thing shown in the games when you beat dynal in combat- he made it a completely unbiased, fair fight, and accepted defeat when he lost. although, granted, thats just kind of game mechanics in general. beat bad guy and he loses JFBSHDBD

but i still think that dynal could have totally like. straight up ended the pcs life right then and there if he really wanted to continue with project mother planet. so could have raptin and duna if they wanted. they are dinosaur people and you are a fleshy little mammal. but they didnt.... i think their whole culture is heavily honor based. even if you have a good argument its probably looked down upon to continue even after youve been bested in combat. fucked up a little but your claws are sharper than your words

i think that their horns formed early on in their evolution, early dinaurians would have used their horns to spar for one reason or another, and this behavior would have been ingrained in their society over millions of years. like goats DBFHDBFN but theres absolutely some cultural significance in sparring or battling, mostly to settle disputes when words are meaningless, its just kind of an instinct. you know how it is. but now i imagine horns are mostly just for display, while battle forms are used for sparring and dispute settling. some dinaurians have them and some dont. sometimes they are carved, painted over, peirced, or shaved down all together.

im thinkin........ i feel like. the possibilities for dinaurian design traits are literally endless until you run out of dinosaurs to base them off of. im going to make it my long term mission to make some fucking wild barely-qualifies-as-dinaurian ocs you ever seen... dinaurians with pterosaur crests.... nyctosaurus or thalassodromeus crests on top of their heads. big frills curving behind their skulls and horns on their forehead like that of a ceratopsid..... eye spots on those frills or open holes- or eye spots on the inside of wings. frills on the side of their heads that can open wide like old dilophosaurus depections. fuck yes...... a parasaurlophus dinaurian that sneezes really funny............. even more options if you wanna make dinaurians based on ancient mammals. fukc yes

hmmmm.... thinking about saar's "armor". its the darker orange material on his suit. very flexible but hard like plastic, but it rarely ever breaks or scratches and it protects him well in battle. also since i am a part of the "dinaurian transformations are biological features and not holograms" crowd i also think the armor can extend as needed to fit his body. its a cool material but i have no idea what could even come close to resembling it in the real world HDBFFHFHDHUFHFH

the grey skin-tight part of his suit though... that is easier to explain HFBSHDBDHD its something thats temperature regulating and SUPER flexible, keeping him cool on hotter planets and warm on colder ones. downside is that its way more easy to rip and fuck up than the other peices of armor on him. its naturally probably warm to the touch because i like to think dinaurians prefer hot and humid climates.... off topic but which just so happens to be what vivosaur island is HFJDBDUDBDJDJDJD

anyways i think battle form transformations are something that is both biological but also assisted by technology. technology that controls the suit the dinaurian is wearing so it doesnt get ripped to shreds when transforming.... but thats also a post for another day !!!!!
