Look, I'm gonna be perfectly honest. I've had a lot going on. I've been busy, and my head hasn't been in the game politically for a bit, but I kept seeing posts mentioning project 2025. Not explaining it, just mentioning it. I finally had some downtime to look it up and now I'm posting this for the sake of people like me who were uninformed. I think it's time we actually start fucking talking about what Project 2025 is, not just saying it's bad. Project 2025 is an affront to American history. It is against every value I hold dear in my country. It is to unwrite every bit of progress that people have fought and died for, especially LGBT people. This is the worst case scenario, and it is your civic duty to put a stop to it in November. If you are of voting age, go out and fucking vote, by any means necessary. Contact your state representatives and tell them you do not want to see this pass. They are banking on the disenfranchisement of young voters to win. If you value any of the civil progress we have made, especially in the last 60 years, you need to vote.

Kamala Harris may not be perfect, no one is. At least she doesn't want to actively destroy the foundation of the country.

I fundamentally believe the government should have no say in the media you can and cannot consume actually. The psuedo-censorship of pornhub I would argue is a violation of our first amendment rights. This is dangerous, as it leads to a slippery slope wherein censorship will become more and more normalized. Uncontested, we will see more and more draconian censorship and Hayes code-esque laws regarding media.

As an LGBT woman who is politically active in LGBT, sexual, and reproductive rights spaces who also writes smut, this is a scary thing to have happened.

I get a nice amount of paid vacation hours every year that I can use whenever I'd like, not just in summer. They also remain valid the year after so if I save them up I can go on a longer vacation. That's how my job utilises it, but everyone in the Netherlands gets a minimum four weeks of paid holiday per year regardless.

However, if I don't take a minimum amount of time off each year my job won't be happy with me. It's against labour laws so they would force me into like a week of paid off-time.

It's not for granted, people had to petition a lot in the last century to achieve this, during wich time the USA went rabid with McCarthyism if it caught even a whiff of labour laws. Incidentally, that's why the Japanese don't have it good either in this regard.

I don't mean to regurgitate the ol' "AmeRIca BaD" and "muh capitalism", that's bullshit, but you shouldn't always believe those who say that America is the best country in the world and that everyone wants to have what they have. We're not in the '50's anymore.

I'm not sure everyone realises how far upper-right US politics is on the political compass; and I'm not talking about Republicans.

I think adults need summer vacation. Like let's just close down all our jobs for three months and play outside. Please. I'm so tired.
