Welcome to Rakuen,

After the earth (now known as Narak) was made uninhabitable from a radiation disaster thousands of years ago, humanity fled to the stars. Now living upon a mothership known as Rakuen, citizens live in a dystopian world masquerading as a Utopia. An AI known as Sibyl System runs cymatic scans on all inhabitants to assess citizens whether they're safe, a potential danger to society, or outright dangerous to society.

There are also space witches and non- who pilot mecha to search the universe; genetically modified SOLDIER who keep Rakuen safe; arena battlers for entertainment, and more. The story is what you make of it: SoL, action-based, other--?

So me and @fourfoldfires accidentally developed a whole Solution 9 cast of alts connected to each other in a myriad of complicated ways.

Two of those are Nikawmene (nicknamed Nix), a long-suffering homicide detective in a city where no one remembers the dead, as well as Ruby, a passively suicidal hacker with a thing for fashion and putting his nose where it definitely does not belong.

The Ninth Shard

A former researcher of Preservation and a fanatic in the studies of retrieving souls. After numerous failed attempts to find a way to bring back his beloved sister he decided that his emotions were holding him back from the answer. In response to this revelation he tinkered with his regulator, ridding himself of any sentimentality that still festered in his heart. Without any purpose in his life he now wanders aimlessly, his own soul still reaching towards that figure that no longer has a face or name.

I just think a Dian shard that lost himself to his technological pursuits is Extremely Cool as a concept
