First thing! I made a couple patterns! This is for a class, critique is tomorrow and I am so over this project. Patterns are hard to make apparently but I'm not mad at the way my fish one looks. The spooky one looks terrible and I'm so sad about it.

Physically printed these out too bcs they're digital which was kinda cool. I need to learn how to make prints and all that so it's a step in the right direction.

Based on the poll results I posted a bit ago, I decided to make the dress and hope it fit my mom instead, and...surprise? It actually fits me (despite the pattern being misprinted). The waist does sit higher than it's meant to, but I think it looks fine! As I originally started to make this for my own wardrobe, I might selfishly keep it :P But I want to make matching bucket hats for my mom and I out of the leftover fabric, which has such a cool print that I'm sure she'll also enjoy :D

I finished this monstrosity about a week ago and as per I forgot to update on here

After eight months, I REPEAT EIGHT MONTHS, of stitching, crying, tangled thread, and more crying, I finished Scott’s fish cardigan 💪🏻

Several folks asked so here is a brief explanation. I fused larger strips (think 2.5”wide) to Steam-a-Seam2, then organically cut those into 1/4-1/2” width by 3” pieces. I organized by color family. I used a Goddess Pr asking appliqué sheet to see the fish shape underneath it. I peeled the paper backing off each strip as I built my fish on the sheet. Once I was happy with the placement I fused all the pieces together. I let the fish cool then carefully peeled it off the sheet. I built all 6 fish this way. I then placed each fish on the pieced background I made and once happy with the placement fused it to the background. This pile of fabric strips (1/4-1/2” x 3”) turned into these

Which turned into this

I’m having it custom quilted. It’s going to be in a silent auction at a meeting my daughter is planning. Hope it will bring in a lot of $$

I mentioned in a previous post that I accidentally cut this fabric using misprinted pattern pieces. Now the dress I was intending to make will not fit me. As you can see, I've already made up the bodice, but stopped short of adding the waistband and skirt. It might fit my petite mom, but she lives in a different state so I wouldn't be able to check the fit.
