So to add on to my Flood Theory post, what if there's a parallel to the Depths. There's talk about darker than dark and darkworlds and fountains, so why wouldn't there be of light. More specifically of the lighter than light sentiment. Gaster and the code is associated with the depths, and in my mind the opposites of those are the player and the fan base. That's just what makes sense thematically in my mind,

Deltarune is filled with both parallels and opposites and the lighter than light and the darker than dark ideas would be the sets of opposites, so the roles would be parallels. The player and Gaster being omnipresent beings with knowledge of the nature of the world, and with curiosities that cannot be satiated. The code and the fan base are less so but both are in a sense where the player or Gaster reside, both are what they each can manipulate and change, impacting the world of Deltarune as they do so.

So with this, I propose the idea of the Hights. A sort of opposite to the Depths. If the depths are a sort of place deeper than the world of the game, meaning the code, the heights would be a place that's higher than the world of the game. It would be social media in a sense.

I think the Depths aren't literally the code, just a place intertwined if that makes sense. The Heights wouldn't literally be social medias, just intertwined with it. Also, this would be how we, meaning us and Gaster, interact with each other. There's a connection somewhere, and that's how we can go through the others domain, Gaster the Tweets before Deltarune, and us going through the code. The Depths shows characters that it's just a game, it's the code after all. It gives characters awareness that nothing matters, everything is written to happen, and it will. Jevil and Spamton are examples of this/ On the other hand, I think the Heights would show a character that yes it is a game but it means so much more. It would give awareness that its important no matter if it's a game or not. I think Ralsai is one of this nature. Under my original post someone added, "Maybe ralsei is the equivalent to noah here. He was told of what would happen in seven days and is trying to bring as many other people to castle town as possible because the castle town fountain is pure enough and wouldn't be affected by the angels light" and I agree. But to know this would make him aware such as Jevil and Spamton, just with a different outlook.

This would be my diagram of sorts, though in reality the green section would be a sort of blank canvas, shaped by the stronger force of either light or dark. Since light is the strongest force (as of now) the dark worlds would be little bubbles of darkness in the green layer, close to the blue.

I am extremely convinced that we are just beginning to unwrap what's going on with Ruby Sunday.

Ruby received the perfect fairy tale outcome—wish-fulfillment-level picture perfect. No New Who companion has had such a mellow and completely amicable resolution.

The mystery of her mother resolves with a blameless biological mother who made the right choice and a father who didn’t know she existed. And the mom who raised her is there too. She gets to have everyone. That happy ending was like a picture-perfect Christmas card, narrated by Mrs. Flood.

Additionally, I will need to rewatch to make sure but it did not seem like winter when they were at the coffee shop, yet it’s snowing at the end when we pan up to Mrs. Flood. Unless that was supposed to be much later...?

They also kinda raised more questions about 73 Yards than they answered. They confirmed that Ruby did not prevent the timeline in 73 Yards and additionally made that timeline essential to uncovering who Ruby's mother was. They also emphasized 73 Yards as the limitations of the TARDIS perception filter. Were the people in 73 Yards seeing beyond a filter on Ruby? Is the TARDIS projecting something on Ruby? Did both Rubys cancel each other's out? What did they see?

I'm completely willing to accept that ending if it’s just what it says on the jar, but I'm very suspicious right now. The "watch where you step" thing hasn't paid off yet either.

Something is still up. I’m starting to think the TARDIS is hiding something about Ruby and might have even conjured up Ruby's mom and dad out of nothing to keep hiding it. I know thats a little crack pot.

To clarify, I really liked the episode and I can certainly appreciate the themes of having her mother be normal and having intense value projected onto her.

However, that doesn't explain why the memory was changing, why it snowed, or why Sutekh would be especially interested. Certainly, the TARDIS has encountered more intriguing mysteries. Additionally, I feel like we would have been shown her face in the time window or the video somehow. It's either something or a bit of a missed opportunity in the script.

I feel like “projections of Ruby's subconscious” and “TV show” might still be on the table. Tell me if I'm off my rocker, but combine this with the fact that we know Ruby will be back, and, well, I think there's much more still to come.

So, basically, I'm thinking this is some sort of fake-out.

why is everyone assuming that Mrs Flood is just as evil as Sutekh? We know nothing about her.

Sutekh is the one who waits, the god of gods, he is actual Satan, the most powerful being in the universe, extinguisher of all life, the god of death, father of the toymaker, leader of the pantheon of discord.

And Mrs Flood refused to give Cherry a cup of tea.

Obviously Mrs Flood is much more evil.

My undying love for the Master is seriously going to be put to the test if it turns out that Mrs Flood is the Rani and she wants to transfer the Master’s consciousness into Conrad’s body (a theory which I do strongly believe). Because what do you MEAN he’s going to be a right-wing podcaster? He’s never been THAT evil before, I don’t think I could accept it 😭. RTD, if that’s the choice you’ve made, know that I’ll cheer for the Master anyway but you’re making it hard because I despise Conrad with a burning passion that rivals the sun the Tenth Doctor burned up to say goodbye to Rose Tyler.

questions we haven't answered yet that make me super hyped for the next season:

what did the toymaker mean when he said he made a jigsaw out of the doctor's history?

↑ is that related to the strange way the doctor's memories keep changing and the random weird stuff that keeps coming up? or is that something else

was sutekh "the one who waits"? he was never actually referred to as that

multiple characters have referenced "the boss" and that cannot be sutekh, so who on earth is the boss?

this one's kinda meta but ruby left but we know she filmed stuff for s15, is that just a single episode? and is the new companion mundy or just a classic case of repeating actors?

what's rogue's whole deal? do we think his story is done? coz imo him being tied to the above mentioned boss + "find me" + the ring (that 15 is still wearing in eps 7 and 8 btw) definitely seems to imply there's something more there

frankly insane amount of Susan mentions this season - is she actually coming back?

I think it's funny we've reached a point where we don't even comment on Mrs Flood. We knew she would be there and shes looking for the doctor.

I think it's very unlikely it's an echoes deal like last season. I think she's the same person traveling around a following the doctor

The picture she had of the vindicator looked like it was from Lux in 1952 earth. So she's clearly got a goal and shes following the doctor specifically from place to place. She's likely capable of going through time/ space and using great technology far outside of different times. The picture she took wasn't something you could do in 1952.

I wonder what she wants from the doctor and from the vindicator. I wonder how long she's been following him and how. I wonder why she dresses like his old companions from classic and new who. I wonder how she breaks the 4th wall.

So deltarune tomorrow (more like 50ish tomorrows) and already I've seen some theories. And with those comes chapter 4. In the trailer there are two clips we assume are from chapter 4 (one for certain and the other a likely assumption) and in these clips Susie and Kris are weird colours, Susie a sort of brown and Kris a purple.

(Sorry for the low quality, had to grab from the trailer.) But I've seen a few theories trying to explain the color shift. Some lighting, some to do with darker than dark and such. I had a small theory that I haven't seen thrown around. What if the reason they were a different colour was because the fact that they were in a church changed the darkworld. Since angels are typically associated with light and heaven and stuff like that, and they worship the Angel in the church what if that has tainted the darkworld within it. Basically the inherent light from the Angel as this is their domain has tainted the darkness of the darkworld, making it not darker than dark, but a sort of in between. But also why would the Angel infect the darkworld as such if the Angels Heaven is the bad thing™ that happens from making dark worlds? Well I don't think that the Angels Heaven is a side effect of the darkworlds, rather a counter against them. What if the imbalance of light and dark leads to the Angel sending down something that brings light, but also calamity, in efforts to bring balance. Much like the great flood in the bible, god didn't like how humans were mostly bad (tell me about it) and he wiped out almost everything to cleanse the world. Also it was seven days between god telling Noah and the flood happening, seven comes up a lot in the bible. There are also a lot of religious themes in deltarune. But I think this could hold some merit. I'll call this Flood Theory I guess, every cool theory has a name. I now realize that this isn't such a little theory now, but I digress. Well see what happens when the new chapters come out ig.

what's going on in Doctor Who and who is the Rani? (a guide for newcomers!) 🧪

if you're a Doctor Who fan you may have seen your fellow Whovians losing their absolute shit over the past day due to events within the latest episode, The Interstellar Song Contest. i know there's a lot of folks here who are new to the show, largely here because of Lux (or who have come back after a long absence!), so you may be a little out of the loop on what's happened! here's a handy little guide to get you up to speed 😉 (big spoilers for The Interstellar Song Contest, and all of Doctor Who from The Giggle onwards!)

part one: bigeneration

in 2023, in the episode The Giggle, the Fourteenth Doctor (played by David Tennant) bigenerated. this is a type of regeneration (where the Doctor dies and comes back in a new body) we've never seen before, where a Time Lord splits off into two separate bodies. the Fourteenth Doctor didn't technically die, but the Fifteenth Doctor (played by Ncuti Gatwa) was 'born' and split off from Fourteen's body, meaning there are now two whole Doctors! this process occurred because of the powers of the Toymaker (played by Neil Patrick Harris), the main villain from The Giggle: an all-powerful god of games.

chronologically, the Fourteenth Doctor still comes before the Fifteenth, and he lives out the rest of his regeneration on Earth with former companion Donna Noble (played by Catherine Tate). everything the Fourteenth Doctor experiences is understood to inform what the Fifteenth Doctor becomes (confusing as that might be!). it's important to note that the Fourteenth Doctor is characterised as being exhausted and in desperate need of support. this is why many people consider (or...well, considered, as of the Interstellar Song Contest) Fifteen to be a 'post-therapy' Doctor: a well-adjusted, emotionally open Doctor who emerged after Fourteen had an extended period of rest. that leads us to...

part two: Mrs Flood

following the Toymaker's shenanigans, Doctor Who has taken on a lot of fantasy-oriented elements, which is a big change from the usual straight sci-fi of the show. alongside the Pantheon of Discord (the gods including the Toymaker, Maestro, Sutekh, and Lux Imperator), the Doctor has been followed by the enigmatic Mrs Flood (played by Anita Dobson): an older, upbeat lady with the bizarre ability to break the fourth wall. throughout series 1 and 2 Mrs Flood is shown to have knowledge of the Doctor, is always inserting herself into the Doctor's adventures, and looked to be dressing herself up as the Doctor's former companions. she has been the biggest mystery out of the whole series!! the theories about Mrs Flood are too many to mention, but lots of us were of the opinion that she was another Pantheon member: perhaps some kind of reality-breaking Story god, or the Mistress of the Land of Fiction. but it turns out we were wrong...!

part three: The Interstellar Song Contest

in the episode The Interstellar Song Contest, an alien (Hellion) named Kid attempts to murder three trillion viewers, alongside everyone on the space station watching the titular song contest. he does this by deactivating a dome keeping all the contestants safely on the ground of the space station, causing them to hurtle upwards into space (still trapped within a mavity bubble) and freeze, effectively halting all their lifesigns and putting them into a semi-comatose state. one of the victims of this act was Mrs Flood. once the Doctor and his temporary companions Gary and Mike revive everyone, Mrs Flood reveals that her 'double brainstem' (a feature only possessed by Time Lords) was damaged by the freezing process. Mrs Flood then begins to regenerate...but instead, she bigenerates, and out pops a very familiar face (played by Archie Panjabi!). this new woman introduces herself as the Rani: confirming that Mrs Flood was a Rani (?!) whereas she, the new Time Lady, is THE Rani, the definite article. so who is the Rani, and why are we all losing our minds...?!

part four: the Rani

the Rani is an infamous Doctor Who antagonist (originally played by Kate O'Mara) who faced off against the Sixth and Seventh Doctors (played by Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy) in two serials: The Mark of the Rani and Time and the Rani. she is an extremely intelligent and amoral Time Lord who runs complex biochemical experiments on humans and other species, without regard for how they may be harmed. she is ruthless and terrifying, and has no problems with subjugating or even murdering entire populations. even the Master is a bit put-off by her 💀 the reason everyone is going nuts is because, for decades, it has been a long-running joke that any new female antagonist must be the Rani. she's a fan favourite who many fans have wanted to see again, but due to issues with rights to the character lasting all the way back to Classic Who in the 80s, we've never seen her brought back...until now. some of us did jokingly speculate that Mrs Flood could be the Rani because of the Rani's penchant for dressing up as companions, like she did with Mel Bush (played by Bonnie Langford):

...but none of us expected to be right!!!! 😱 so there you have it. Mrs Flood was actually the Rani this whole time, though a very odd version of herself, and the Rani has bigenerated from her and made her formal return. add in the cameos by Susan Foreman (played by Carol Ann Ford), the Doctor's granddaughter, and this episode has rocked the Whovian fanbase!! presently we have no idea why Mrs Flood's personality is so different than the Rani's, or why she is immediately deferring to the Rani's power...but i do suspect that the Rani's return may 'end' the fantasy storyline and place the Pantheon of Discord back outside of the universe. my absurd speculative theory is that the Rani is responsible for the baby farm in Space Babies, and she was experimenting with creating little Time Lords. i'm also partial to the idea that she may be Belinda's mother, but that's completely deranged 😂 guess we'll have to wait and see!!!
