Flight of the Tiny Darkness
The darkness
It moves, I think
For a moment, over there
Then, suddenly, elsewhere
Oh, it's gone now
Nothing to worry about
Except... it's back, again
That didn't take long
So, it'll be one of those nights
Awake and frozen
Eyes ever tracking the darkness
Moving erratically now
Far too erratically
It paces and skitters
I know what's next
I fear what's next
Compelled, the darkness stops
Turns towards me, it seems
Pauses, mercifully perhaps
So I may decide and ready myself
But I'm too slow
When darkness leaps and soars
Straight for me
At least, it seems so
I don't decide
Just act
A bit of flight
But mostly freeze
Now, I mourn consciousness
Too warm beneath a quilted prison
One of my own making
Air, humid with my wretched breaths
There will be little peace
Little rest
Little sleep
And much regret

Had to get a Very Large Roach off the ceiling in my kitchen and shrieked when it started flying.
Now, for unrelated reasons, I am writing a ballad about a Very Grand and Brave Knight, slayer of Dragons and Fearsome Beasts, who disappeared after encountering a single bug.
Never mind what kind it was, that isn't important to the plot.

TF141 bf/hubbies running towards you in the kitchen on high alert, gun in hand, cause you screamed bloody murder.
"Where's the enemy!?"
"There! Over there!" You said in a panic, pointing at the counter where a cockroach is, wiggling its antennae.

Cod characters as bugs
Price: Tawny mining bee
Ghost: Antlion aka doodlebug
Gaz: Pillbug aka roly-polie
Soap: Caddisflies
Roach: Spotted lanternfly
Rudy: Venezuelan Poodle Moth
Alejandro: Spanish fly
Shadow company: Bullet Ants
Graves: Queen of the bullet ants
For people who don't like bugs ones that are 'safe' to look up online and aren't horrifying are the Vanezulean Poodle Moth (they're cute), the Spotted lanternfly and the Spanish fly and the bee aswell. None of them are too bad so you should be okay but still be ready to see bug pictures if you look them up. (I couldn't do spiders they freak me the fuck out)
Also, @laswells-ashtray, was gonna drop this in your asks but didn't want to retype the whole thing, thoughts on the bugs?

I will say one thing about living south of the mason-dixon line, you get really good at identifying different species of cockroach.

accidentally spent 3 hours browsing r/spiders and while they are beautiful and i love nature i feel like living in the US has destroyed my desensitization to big bugs and it's going to be pretty fucking challenging when i go back to mexico asdjklfs how easily we get used to first world luxury........

headcanon: haruka is mildly afraid of flying bugs but it's okay because his husband, rin, was raised in the land down under and trained to take down ginormous spiders, fight off kangaroos in the backyard and grab magpies by the neck in an attack.
haruka faces a flying cockroach with a can of pesticide but rin gives it the death glare and tries to crush it with his hands.
