Asked Twitter for six vivosaurs to turn into humans and I got a whopping EIGHT!! Well here they are! They're my last art piece before I lock my account in the next twenty-four hours there but they are eternal to view here.

daily vivosaur 91
genus: eocarcharia
one of the original "shark toothed" dinosaurs with a skull that gave it a menacing glare, it has confusion and scare skills on top of its ultra quake team skill that hits AZ and SZ

omg based fossil fighters fan??????? i swear it's so hard to find other people who enjoy the series
do you have. a favorite vivosaur
oughfgfeuh I feel lik I have to say Lagia because that's my dinauriansona base. extraterrestrial Lagia but like I have. so many. Toba is the only starter I ever pick and I will never not pick my baby Toba. I seriously think that sauropods have the best 3rd stage attack animations and I will hold to that
Pelto. I don't really know why but Pelto makes my brain happy. Carchar. Centro's goofy but I like that one. Einio too despite not likin most of the tricera-adjacent ones. Guera. Shanshan. Cryo. Yango. Dunkle. Dilopho. ohhh I'm probably forgetting a bunch because there's so damn many I like to begin with FRICK
I'm gonna remember more later and I'm gonna kick myself every time uhh Dacerus. Salto. These are just not even considering super revivers either

Who’s your favorite vivosaur in Fossil Fighters?
I’m literally so glad you asked
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
BIG fan of these guys, Toba (I don’t use if for combat but I do appreciate its good def stat), Lythro, Spino and Spino ST. I’m particularly fond of Lythro, ngl, its design is just top tier, but Spino ST is an excellent vivo companion and really helped me out in tough situations, its attack stat is just monstrous, and regular Spino also has pretty easy to use abilities and is overall quite reliable

Bonus for Carchar! I’m not so fond of its design (except for the shark aspect) , but I can’t deny that this fucker hits like a truck and is as tanky as can be, used it for most of my game as my main

fossil fighters!! just some random vivosaurs i drew for a comic, but they're all isolated here. they're all purple cuz I was doing a limited palette comic so that's why they're not the game accurate colors.
carchar was my boy, i always have him on my team. but when i was a kid that one fight in the digadigamid was ruthless so i didn't like him til i was older. harbored resentment for years. but i really love his design so i use him all the time now. and i really liked angato because i thought he looked awesome with the purples and spots.
such a good series. at least the first two, i don't even count frontiers.
maybe you'll see some more vivosaur art from me because drawing dinos is a lot of fun and these games hold a very special place in my heart <3

hello! im gonna be sharing some thoughts and headcanons on genetic diversity in vivosaurs, featuring carchar, and the two extremes of its biology :]
(and yes im gonna be using a redesign of frontier carchar for this)
believe it or not, i can totally imagine frontier carchar and FF/FFC carchar coexisting, and even being members of the exact same species!
-
first off, yes this is so frontier and FF/FFC can be in the same universe. second of all, i think that vivosaurs as an entire species of their own are extremely... malleable. i cant think of a better word HBAHGBAH but that's canonical!!!! at the beginning of FF, diggins talks about how vivosaurs take on an appearance influenced by the environment around them. first, i think that this can mean that every vivosaur has the potential to be entirely different from the standard of its species, if one desires to manipulate that. and second, while i feel like the possibilities could be endless to vivosaur designs, and that each vivosaur is unique in one way or another, i do think that every vivosaur is limited to the shape of its basic anatomy, and maybe some other loose rules. IE: sauropods stay sauropods. spinosaurs keep their sails, etc
Tumblr media
heres a diagram of frontier carchar's and FF carchar's differences, and core similarities. most of these (not all!!) core similarities are traits that have to be shared by all carchar, and the rest is free game. since vivosaurs are practically magic there can definitely be some alterations to its biology. floating parts, glowing insides. a vivosaur could be full of molten magma and be fine.
i think that there's way, way more vivosaur variations than the games could EVER demonstrate. it wouldn't be that uncommon to see a "pyramid" (FFF) carchar variation in caliosteo, or another vivosaur variation that isn't specific to the area its currently in. this would be particularly common in massive tournaments, when people from all over the world come to one place to battle. i imagine boasting about how rare your vivosaurs variation is is rather common.
also, referring to FFF carchar as a "pyramid" variation, i like to imagine that there's nicknames for more common vivosaur variations :] FF/FFC carchar could be known as a... "pharaoh", or an "emperor" variant, and its the most common variant for carchar. vivosaur designs from FF and frontier are probably the most common variants to find.
so... this being said... and the flexibility of vivosaur variations having been discussed, i present to you

Carcharodontosaurus base model done on today's stream! Super happy with the results, despite a few areas needing to be futzed with a bit more. This guy will come back as a base for other theropod carnivores like it. As always, if you want to see it again for textures and rigging, let me know!
Tomorrow I'll be streaming once again at 1:30pm EST, but instead of working in Blender, I'll be playing a video game. Join me at Twitch.tv/paxportal27 if you're interested! Hope to see you there!
