I opened Clip studio, looked at my week old undone OC ref and decided that the best course of action was to make a lil guy out of felt because he will never have any merch

Low key tempted to do that for my OCs now >:]

Aahhh, Fossil Fighters Frontier : one of my very favorite games ! I remember picking it up from the shelf out of curiosity, and here I was, playing the coolest dinosaur game ever. I decided to re-play a bit, and I completly forgot that there was a song for the intro ! I really liked exploring and digging up fossiles, but fighting was fun too ! My favorite vivosaur is Alxas, I mainly use him when fighting. I'm a bit over 68 hours of game time.
My second favorite is the Lythro. I named mine Nitro. However, I didn't give a name to my Alxas ? I should think of one someday.
And here's my car :

This is my favorite model. However, it is not my most performant one. Here are her stats :

And here's my most performant car :

I think my favorite Character is Drake. I have him in my team with Elric. Leon is also one of my favorite characters.
I would like to point out how hilarious Nibbles's evolution line is :
First, Nibbles as he follows you around.
then his first and second combat form. Yeah, that's regular vivosaur stuff.
But then he becomes a robot ???
And then thid monstruous thing.
While I do have all the vivosaurs, I don't have ALL the fossils. And don't get me started on the rare fossils, I have so little of them. Is it even possible to have a full vivosaur of rare fossils ? Let alone ALL the vivosaurs ??
Anyway, here are my other favorite vivosaurs : Gorgo, Spino ST, Nychus, V-Raptor, U-Raptor, Dilopho US, Dilopho, Sungari, Thalasso and Coatlus.

Who’s your favorite vivosaur in Fossil Fighters?
I’m literally so glad you asked

BIG fan of these guys, Toba (I don’t use if for combat but I do appreciate its good def stat), Lythro, Spino and Spino ST. I’m particularly fond of Lythro, ngl, its design is just top tier, but Spino ST is an excellent vivo companion and really helped me out in tough situations, its attack stat is just monstrous, and regular Spino also has pretty easy to use abilities and is overall quite reliable

Bonus for Carchar! I’m not so fond of its design (except for the shark aspect) , but I can’t deny that this fucker hits like a truck and is as tanky as can be, used it for most of my game as my main

currently being haunted by fossil fighters frontier. why did they choose to balance the game like that? why did they choose to gut and slaughter the battle system? why did they choose to base the fossils off the multiplayer ones from champions? and then make them less intuitive to clean when the system from the first two games was fine? why did they swap air and earth in the type effectiveness circle? why?
#still mad about both the final main story tournament and the segment at the end where they confiscate your best vivosaur#who thought any of that would be a fun idea? I just want to talk...#fossil fighters#sorry frontier enjoyers. I didn't hate this game entirely? it has some redeemable features like good character design for the humans#but I think the only thing I actively liked about this game was the opening theme the human designs the vivosaur lythro and the final boss

OCs and what their Fossil Fighters vivosaur team would be bc I am bored and have brain worms-
Hi! This is exactly what the title says. This is also going to get a bit long. Also these are just the ones off the top of my head, I'll come back to this again if I have more Thoughts.
Carta Mantua:
Tried to get some space-themed and white-colored vivos in here but her ace would be a T-Rex Lord with a Silver Leg Alectro and a Silver Body Aopteryx for support. I'll also give her a Frontier Coatlus and Papygon.
Golden Time
A mix of time-themed vivos and some regal eastern ones. She would love sauropods. Frontier Toba would be her ace. Silver Arm Krona and a Ryden for support.
X YZ
Tried to get in some good support vivosaurs and wishing star motifs. I think small triceras would be her favorite. Silver Head Proto, Silver Head Mihu, and Frontier Ajka would be a great team.
Ice Flame
Needed that mix of fire and ice for her so she's getting a Yango, Silver Head Jiango, and Silver Body Kentro team. She'd not much of a believer in ace vivosaurs so she balances out her team into any and all formations.
Fire Angel
I wanted to give her a whole team of fire birds but they can't fly so she's getting fire type pterasaurs! Frontier Ptera JP and Silver Leg Sungari for support. Dimorph Ace would be her ace (haha). She's blind and not too picky on colors so she would choose miraculous fossils by how powerful it would make her vivosaur.
Candy Corn Vampire
No bat vivos. :( Sad! Anyway, tried to get some funky Halloween ones. A Breme and Silver Head Hopter for support. His ace is the Silver Body Zino of course of course.
Oblivion Starlight
She was really hard to pin down, but I decided to make her a Neutral specialist. Silver Head Brachio, Silver Head Mihu, and a Penta would be her main team, but she'd also have a Neo and Silver Body Tophis on rotation.
Deathly Toll Bells
There are no Greek vivos to add but she would have a Seidon. A Silver Head Stygi and a Frontier Mapo would also be on her team. She'd also have Kaishin up her sleeve if she wanted a serious battle.
Lady Law
She'd try to make a balanced team I'd say. No clear ace but she'd have a Paki, Silver Body Dikelo, and Silver Head Tanstro. I wanted her to have some 'weird' vivos.
Perenelle
I think Perry would enjoy a team of little guys to be her little helpers. Compso and Coelo for support and a Dacerus for her ace. She's not big on silver fossils, only gold ones.
Däe
Gave them a unicorn as their ace: Omias. Silver Head Parium and a Silver Arm Elasmoth for support. Didn't want to give them a dream/sleep themed team so much but I think they should have a Silver Head Jara, Silver Arm Nigo, and a Squirth in rotation.
Mary Blüde
She would most like get a 'patchwork' team that wouldn't look like it matches at first but actually has great support. A Silver Leg Tro and a Hibigon would be on her support. For a touch of regality she can have a Giga Allo for an ace. She always keeps her ace in the front like an axe so it can always deal heavy blows. She'd get a Lythro along the way.
Scarlet Frost
Water type specialist all the way! The more icy the better. Silver Arm Thalasso would be a good pick. Silver Leg Oloro would also be a good support and Frontier Cryo would be her ace.
Demigod
Went with a punk theme and vivos that had a 'metal' aesthetic going on. Her ace would be a Silver Leg Cheirus and she would also have a Silver Body Breme. Later on she would be able to get an O-Raptor Fiend and Diplo.
MVF
Had to really scratch my head but I decided to give her a team of 'underdogs' for theming. A Silver Body Shanshan and a V-Raptor for support and an Aeros as her ace. I wanted all her vivos to be capable of super evolving, but the Shanshan was perfect for theming and the whole Tarbo/classification situation fits well with her story.
Aries
No goat vivos so she's getting a full fire team! She'll have a Guan as her ace and a U-Raptor and Peloro for support. She'd try to make all three balanced.
Ti Gold
No prehistoric bears- Sad! Let's give them a Silver Head Megath, B-Brachio, and Frontier F-Raptor. I also think she would be able to make a team out of Z-vivosaurs.
Madeleine Marionette
I really wanted to give her a deer but I went more with her fear-inducing color pallet and nature. She gets a Megalo of course of course and a Silver Head Krypto. Let's also give her a Silver Arm Nasaur for cute factor.
Mike
He needs a creepy team full of Z- and B-vivos in my opinion but I think realistically he should have the 'average' kind of vivosaurs. So let's give him a Spinax as his ace and Edapho and Stego for support.
Valentina
She gets an unruly Titanis for her ace and two tanky vivosaurs for support: a Silver Head Pachrino and a Tricera. She'd super evolve her Tricera given the chance.
Moroko
Going to give him a 'dog' vivo and make his team based more on his three friends (Shiela, Yippee!, and Ghostworx). The easy answer would have been to give him three Dinomatons. He'd have a Silver Head Hoplo as his ace and a Silver Arm Orno and a Silver Head Dunkle.
Suiuus
Creepy deer all the way. Silver Body Ceros and a Silver Head Synthos for support. I'm also giving them a B-Rex.

And the designs aren't even bad. Are some of the redesigns a downgrade compared to their originals? Yeah definitely. However, that doesn't mean they're bad. And a lot of them are also huge upgrades. And the original ones for the game are also overall great. I'll give an example of each
In terms of downgrades, Mapo comes to mind. I love the tree aesthetic but like. Come on.
In terms of upgrades, Lexo. I LOVE the spikes.

And one of my favorite originals is Lythro. This dude is fucking awesome

We're never going to get a fourth fossil fighters game because y'all hate frontiers for quite literally no reason despite it being the best game in the series and actually presenting a real genuine challenge and having a great final boss and awesome sound track etc etc "oh but the designs are bad" I'm gunna throw a shovel at you

Ok so ik you said character submissions but why not doodle lythro?

So ordinarily I prefer to live in the realm of “Frontier didn’t happen” so I apologize to its fans for that... but this is a legit cool vivosaur design that wouldn’t be out of place in other FF games so Lythro gets a pass from me

#002: Daspleto.
Flavor Text: Daspleto's defense is incredibly high for a theropod vivosaur. Its defensive power and high HP make it a great choice for longer-lasting battles. Though it is small, its flipped form is strong enough to carry you on its back.
Fossilary Desc: An ancestor of Lythronax, T. Rex, and Tarbosaurus. Although smaller than all of its successors, it was still rather burly compared to the slightly taller Gorgosaurus, which it shared its habitat with. The two could coexist because they occupied separate niches.
Commentary: "Daspleto is a favorite among gem collectors and sellers thanks to its flipped form's constantly regrowing crystalline neck ruff. It appears to be born with the mask covering its face, but its mouth isn't fully connected to that of the mask's. Perhaps it's safest to let it be; Daspleto gets a little snappy if you try to take it off." -Dr. Diggins
Compatible with: -Gorgo or Gorgostroika -Any 2 earth types -Any vivosaurs listed under group 7 -Guan, Lythro, T-Rex, or Tarbo -Its contemporaries: Euoplo, Centro, Penta, Chasmo, Styraco, Coryth, Lambeo, Paraloph, Steceras, Orno, Einio, Pacro, Hesperis, Tro, and Maia.
Opportunistic is not just exclusive to Daspleto and Gorgo, a bunch of other vivosaurs have it in some capacity. In fact, I think I’ll edit T-Rex’s medallium entry to indicate that it has it as well. Opportunistic functions as a more unpredictable version of vivosaur compatibility, causing vivosaurs to behave strangely when paired with other vivosaurs. Daspleto and Gorgo’s condition is a more mild one, which can either double or nullify their negative support effects at the start of a battle. It effectively works as a coinflip, which is performed whenever you enter battle & lasts until the fight is over.
Fun fact, did you know Daspletosaurus has, proportionally, the longest arms of any tyrannosaurid?

Fanmade Vivosaurs? On My Tumblr? It's More Likely Than You'd Think!
A few things before I start. First off, I am not a visual artist. I only draw things out when I feel I can't competently describe them with words. So I will not be drawing these Vivosaurs. If someone else wants to draw these, go ahead! If you do, please @ me so that I can see them.
Second, I'm going to set a few rules for myself before I start so I don't go too wild. The most notable is that I cannot go outside the bounds that the original Fossil Fighters set for size. This means my vivosaurs cannot be smaller than the smallest existing Vivosaurs - Epidex, Gaudry, and Dikelo, at one foot. This does limit me from a lot of the Cambrian lifeforms like Hallucigenia and Opabinia, but I will survive. (Technically, the size limit means I can't go bigger than Shenliu, but I don't think that'll be much of a problem.)
There is also a limit on time period, but that actually doesn't affect too much on its own. Long story short, the latest time period used in Fossil Fighters, the Quaternary, is the one we are in currently. If we want to disallow the modern day, we have to divide things even further into epochs, separating the start of the Quaternary period, the Pleistocene, from the epoch we're currently in, the Holocene.
TLDR: time periods are wierd, and our late bound is approximately 11,650 years ago. I can't use animals that evolved after that point. I also can't use animals from before the Cambrian, but again, I don't think that will be a problem.
I cannot use animals that are alive today unless they are living fossils that date back to the Jurassic (the bounds in Fossil Fighters for how back a living fossil can have originated, set by Coelanth).
I will not be doing regional variants like Frontier. I will also not redesign most of the ten Vivosaurs introduced in Frontier (Lythro, Alxas, Segno, Diplo, Titano, Ampelo, Lophus, Ajka, and Yutie), which, with the exception of Lophus, I think have designs that are at worst serviceable. (Beckles and Peltas are just renames of Spinax and Pelto, so I don't include them as being new Vivosaurs.) However, I will be adapting them to the normal Fossil Fighters format.
Last rule, I have to be somewhat specific with the taxonomic rank. It must be narrowed down to a genus, if possible. (Some existant Vivosaurs may break this rule, but I want to avoid doing so.)
In these vivosaur profiles, I will first include game data: name, element, range, size, stats and support effects (both are going to be rather generalized), and it's general skillset (including it's abilities, if it has one.) Then I will be going over the real-life information (scientific name, specific size, Era and period, diet, location, and a short description.) Lastly, I will be giving a description of how it looks like, whether it's found in regular, giant, or curious fossil rocks, and, if this project gets enough traction, where in a hypothetical new game it would be found.
The Vivosaur profiles may not be complete when I first put them out. I will update them over time, though. If you find an error, please feel free to point it out.
Unlike Canon, which orders vivosaurs in groups of related vivosaurs (or at least ones with similar animations), these vivosaurs will be in no particular order.
One last note before I begin: I am somewhat open to suggestions, but I also hold the right to veto them. I would prefer the suggestion be just an animal to work with, but I am somewhat willing to accept more info. Somewhat.
That was a lot of words, so I'll put the first fanmade vivosaur in a separate post. To find the new vivosaurs, click on the 'original vivosaurs' or 'fanmade vivosaurs' tag.
