Moving Forward. (Spoilers for YTTD up through 3-1b)

- 104 Peeling an Orange -

Eren - can NOT peel an orange for shit. juice everywhere, ripped apart. or maybe he just never learned how…

Mikasa - like a flower. digs her thumb at the top and effortlessly makes five petals. you can tell if somethings wrong when she has four or six petals. as a kid, she watched her mom do it with wide eyes but she never figured out how to do it as delicately.

Armin - pretty perfect spirals,, he always peeled eren’s oranges and will mindlessly eat a slice and hand it to mikasa/eren/anyone sitting next to him. sometimes the other person doesn’t even eat it or take it, he just is so used to sharing and they pile up.

Jean - knife. he knows how to do all those fancy cuttings and is very skilled when it comes to cooking. but without a knife he emulates the flower technique from mikasa.

Connie - rips that girl to shreds. does not damage the actual insides, but the peel is just a bunch of little peels haphazardly scraped off. he also accidentally eats the peel if a bit of it is left on.

Sasha - whole. nah but fr you look away for one second and three oranges will be gone. connie swears he saw her just eat it whole. but in actuality she is very efficient and can peel an orange in seconds and pop it in her mouth.

Historia - she used to rip them and be kinda messy until frieda taught her the trick where you squish it a little and then pull it apart from the center. but when she saw Mikasa’s pretty flower, she started copying it to be more ‘likable’

Ymir - “ugh i just can’t. can you help me, historia?” she can. she can do it just fine. she likes watching historia effortlessly dig her fingers into an orange and pull it apart in 15 seconds.

Marco - he knows how to do that one trick where you roll it out by cutting the top and the bottom which thoroughly impressed both armin and jean. but he usually just peels in spirals if he’s by himself.

Reiner - messy. not as messy as eren, but juice gets everywhere. he sticks his entire thumb into the top of the orange,, unnecessarily so. but he insists that it’s the only way to do it right. he once just split the orange in half and just ate it like that

Bertholdt: horrified by reiner’s method. he usually sits next to Reiner and pre-peels all of the oranges so he doesn’t have to witness him digging his entire thumb into the core of an orange. he does spirals and likes to balance them to look like they are still whole.

Annie - bit into it like an apple once,,, but in reality she mindlessly peels it. but for some reason, she started to notice the ways people peeled their oranges. her eyes would catch on such a little thing and suddenly she was aware of the meaningless sentiment of peeling an orange in a fluid motion to playfully reassemble it. one time, armin gave her a pre peeled orange. her spirals became smoother.

my biggest hc about neil’s looks other than him having curly hair is the fact that he’s kind of tan.

i say kind of bc he’s not actually, he’s just COVERED in freckles so he gets paler in the winter when he’s not exposed to sun as much but during the summer when his freckles come out, good god he looks like the most beautiful natural tan ever (my mom looks like this and i always thought it was so cool)

like i think andrew has freckles but i think neil has FRECKLES™️
