satoru leans back in his chair, idly chatting with people who pop up in his comments after he finishes his last round of the co-op game. his viewers are eager to chat, and some even shoot money satoru's way to draw his attention. whenever someone donates money, he gives them a quick shoutout and has a small back-and-forth with them, and he does that for everyone.

that is, until a user with a questionable username donates to his stream.

you look up from your laptop and see the way your boyfriend's cheeks have gone bright red. satoru laughs a bit nervously, so you get up and walk over, making sure to stay out of sight of the camera. you sit on satoru's desk beside his computer and peer at his screen curiously.

satoru's eyes flicker to yours for a second before he looks back at his monitor. "ah, well, thanks for the donation!" he replies, completely ignoring the user's advances.

you cover your mouth to suppress a giggle, scrunching up your nose at satoru to let him know that you really weren't taking it too seriously. after all, it's just some random person on the internet—they don't stand a chance with your boyfriend. 

satoru reaches over and takes your hand, twining his fingers with yours off-camera. he ignores the sudden burst of comments that litter the corner of his screen, instead watching you intently. in response, you roll your eyes playfully and blow him a kiss, snickering when satoru pretends to faint.

eventually, he turns back to his screen, cerulean eyes doing a quick once-over of his new comments.

"alright guys, settle down," satoru huffs, rolling his eyes. "for the record, i still have a girlfriend and i don't plan on changing that anytime soon," he clarifies, addressing the current feud going on in his comments. 

satoru's a good streamer—he does his best to keep things cordial and lighthearted with his audience, but he also knows his limits. one of his limits involves people trying to separate you and him, his one true pairing (of course satoru's otp is his own relationship).

your boyfriend leans closer to the screen and scowls good-naturedly, holding up the hand still wrapped around yours. "this isn't gonna change, so don't even think about it!"

satoru says his goodbyes and then ends the stream, turning to you with a sigh. "how down bad do you have to be to name yourself 'gojo's little slut?'" he grumbles, clicking through his stream analytics and finding the user. he opens gojoslittleslut's profile and studies it for a moment before hovering his mouse over the block button.

he leans back in his chair and tilting his chin up at you. "she just gave me a hundred dollars, so i kinda feel bad about blocking her," satoru muses, tapping his foot on the floor. he looks up at where you still sit on his desk, twirling a strand of hair around your finger. "c'mere," he mumbles, slipping his hands around your waist and hoisting you into his lap with a soft grunt.

satoru rests his chin on your shoulder and nudges his face into your neck, breath tickling your skin. "you know that i'm all yours, right?"

"of course i do," you murmur, settling into his arms. he's warm and comfortable, like always. satoru smiles warmly and kisses the side of your face, letting his lips linger.

"good. 'cause no fan account's ever gonna change that."

Linkon City has quite a few types of currencies, so let's go over them all real quick. For this post, I'm only covering traditional currencies. No chocolates or MeowCo tokens today. But there's a bonus outlier I'll cover at the end~

From this point on, I'll use LNK as my stand-in currency code. Based on the Top Up options, we can get a general idea of how LNK correlates with USD:

So, the formula to calculate an indirect quote is: (base currency amount) × (exchange rate) = (foreign currency amount)

Our first step is to calculate the exchange rate. So we'll reorganize our formula for that result:

Since the Top Up menu uses a bundled system, it means we have to calculate the individual exchange rates for each bundle. Some historical inflation facts, for comparing prices and memories. We're coming out of a period of really high inflation, so it's good to recalibrate. Based on Consumer Price Index data, the following all have the same purchasing power:

$10 today (2023)

$8.30 in 2019 (the dollar has lost 17% of its purchasing power since the pandemic)

$7.50 in 2012 (has lost 1/4 its purchasing power since the London Olympics)

$6.77 in 2007 (to do the tricky math, the dollar lost 10% of its purchasing power across the Recession)

$5.00 in 1995 (half-life of the dollar's purchasing power is 28 years)

$1.00 in 1963 (when you read prices and wages from the early 1960s, add a 0 to the end to get a rough translation to today)

$0.49 in 1941 (so the dollar lost about half its value in 20 years, 10 years faster than the most recent half-life)

Idk, I think it's interesting because, for example, the federal minimum and median individual wages in 1963 were $1.25 and $5,362, gas cost $0.30, University of Texas tuition cost $100.00, and a house cost $19k. Of course, the counts don’t match but that is an artifact of the misuse of statistics by the post. For example, let’s apply the same method to the official results of the 2020 US presidential election, published by the US Federal Election Commission (FEC):

If you multiply the percentage given for Biden 51.31% times the total number of votes, (158,383,403), the result is 81,266,524, which is different from the total reported by the FEC above (81,268,924).  Perhaps CNN has uncovered and should be reporting on statistically significant evidence of fraud that was committed by the FEC in the 2020 presidential election?

Nevertheless, the post concludes, referring to the discrepancy that they created: “If it is not evidence of fraud by itself I do not know what is.” Then the posts wildly speculates: “Anyhow, the image of the Chavista bosses fabricating the results with a napkin and their phone calculators seems to be as plausible as amusing.” The post continues: “That seems fishy… Can it be, that instead of calculating the percentages from the number of votes, someone decided the percentages and then calculated the number of votes?”

So there you have it. The “Chavista bosses,” starting from their desired fabricated percentage results, computed candidate totals (using phone calculators on a napkin!), only to be exposed because their clumsily computed fabricated totals do not match their fabricated percentages!

Okay... So I think I saved myself from being scammed.

A random furry/human OC artist asked me for a commission. After some discussion about the payment, I told them I was tight on cash. They then told me they could do the commission if I gave them 100.00 upfront (as that was the budget I listed). They sent me their Gmail, and then I politely declined and blocked them. There's a possibility they were legit, but I'm sorry, but unless if the art comes from @maineventshinku, (who's actually really trustworthy and definitely delivers on her art) I ain't trusting random strangers asking for commissions. 🫤
