heeey they graphically updated the ARR world leaders with custom models (well. Nanamo has one too but she seems the same to my eyes and she seems like a normal lala when not wearing her full costume?)...

Aymeric, Lyse and Hien remained low poly at the Alliance meeting, as did poor HW-style Thancred, who just dramatically collapsed in order to travel the rift into graphical fidelity...

Also very funny that earlier Asahai showed up with the old graphics, but Maxima was already boasting full new skin textures despite having of course a way more custom model than the completely character creator ready Hyur next to him... This is the exact right time in the game's history to be in late Stormblood to enjoy the roll out.

This art piece was colored and lineart with only with color pencils~ (Fun fact, I was actually planning to do an 'ink challenge artwork' for this piece for Halloween. Unfortunately, Halloween has already passed- And I don't want to risk it, because there's another drawing [not SS related] on the other side of the page. So I did a gradient instead. I think I did fairly well with it for doing something like this for the first time-)

HER UMBRELLA WAS A PAIN TO DRAW! 💀 (I need to draw more object stuff to perfect my drawing perspectives.) And don't mind the '1ST' on the right-top corner. That's just a mistake I did-

I'm actually proud of this! THE EARLDOM OF ABBINGDO.N & LARA'S PATERNAL HERITAGE. — condensed version ( quick overview only ).

the earldom of abbingdo.n was first mentioned in written record in 1899, when it was gifted to general ahmet croft for his support of the brit.ish forces*. he moved his family to the territory assigned to him around december 1914, at age 75; seeking refuge from the impending dissolution of all treaties between the ottom.an empire and gr.eat brit.ain. despite the growing tensions between the two nations, he settled in well    —     having spent decades fighting alongside bri.tish soldiers, ahmet had a network of friends and colleagues to lean on as he and his family adjusted to their new home. even so, they held on to their cultural heritage and kept in steady contact with relatives in is.tanbul. ( lara writes letters to two of her great aunts to this day. )

by 1990, the title of earl of abbing.don and all associated assets ( including the croft trust, an organization funding the protection and upkeep of world heritage sites all across the globe )      had fallen to richard croft and his wife emel croft, née DeMornay.     emel, being subject to multiple miscarriages and one stillbirth, finally gave birth to a healthy daughter   — lara  —     in 1996. aware that tensions within the family ran high and perturbed by trinity's continued interest in his work, richard signed a living will and testament around the time lara turned two, leaving the entirety of the croft estate and all associated titles to his daughter    —    emel, figuring it was not a time sensitive issue, left her own living will unsigned. in a tragic turn of events, emel's chartered plane crashed in the himalayans two years later. despite surviving the initial crash, lady croft knew she would not survive the elements; writing two letters to her husband and daughter in case her body was ever found.

richard, in his grief, spent two months searching for his wife. upon recovering her body, he became lost in a sense of bone-deep denial — refusing to have her declared dead, as he figured he would find a way to revive her. his negligence and obsession, coupled with adverse influences from ana ( his then-girlfriend ) and atlas, eventually caused issues with lara's inheritance: as her mother was legally alive by the time richard was killed and had not signed a living will, richard's assets technically fell to her  — resulting in a questionable line of succession. in an effort to protect lara, the courts named atlas as executor of the estate. the croft assets were frozen until a proper resolution could be found ( except for a trust fund in lara's name, which atlas was set to manage ). the title and all associated assets & lands fell to lara after she found the family crypt in 2023, exhumed her mother, and provided a signed affidavit including a dna sample. as of 2025, she holds the title of countess of abbingd.on.
