"hey."

you tear your attention away from the black-and-white movie that's playing on the tv to look at your boyfriend of three years. "hm?"

katsuki doesn't say anything right away. you watch as he bites his lip, one of his nervous habits he does when he is trying to gain momentum to put forth actions. after a couple of moments of silence, he lets out a sharp tsk before tossing a tiny white box your way.

your boyfriend should have known better than to throw something your way, especially with no warning. your arms weren't fast enough to catch the tiny thing. it hits your head and lands on your lap with a soft thump on the blanket.

you both sit there in stunned silence for a couple of seconds before you laughed at your lack of reflexes. katsuki mutters something that sounds a lot like "shitty brat" before grabbing the box and places it in your hands.

"what's this?" you ask as you study the box. there are no hints of its contents on the outside.

"open it." katsuki urges you. you do as your told, and you gasp when you see the gift lying inside.

it's a beautiful, albeit simple ring. no big obnoxious stone that costs more than your yearly income multiplied. just a simple band with some small diamonds. nothing fancy.

"what-" you stutter as you continue to study the band. "is this a-"

"promise ring," katsuki quickly interjects before you start short wiring.

you smile softly as you look up at with. your eyes shine with adoration and so much love it makes his heart skip a beat. "i thought you didn't believe in this stuff," you softly inquire.

"i don't," he confirms. "but i saw it and thought about you so i had to get it."

you smile. you carefully take the ring out of the box and place it on your finger. a perfect fit. "i love it, kats. thank you." he hums softly in response. he places a tender kiss on your forehead as you admire your new piece of jewelry.

"what are you promising?"

"what?" katsuki meets your gaze.

"when you give one a promise ring, you are supposed to make a promise, hence the ring to solidify it." you tell him.

katsuki thinks for a moment before whispering, "i promise to one day get you a bigger ring." he seals it with a kiss to your lips.

@kimkaelyn has mentioned this before but i think it would be sooo fun if we (our niche) had a podcast lmaooo. if i knew how to make one i would LOL, and it’d be like one season or whatever and i would break it down like: introducing the concept of x reader fics, talking about their origins and like how different they can be, now, depending on what site you’re on (like—tumblr and wattpad and ao3 kinda all have different audiences, if you think about it? things that get popular on one platform don’t on another, stuff like that). and then like maybe you could have an episode just talking about favourite tropes or fics in general but i think the real fun would be like, talking with different writers LOL. i’d start off with like… people who have written really popular things on here, or have insane follower counts and then we could talk about like, what do numbers mean on a platform designed for sharing (reblogging), and does tumblr breed a different kind of drama and like, what are some things to remember when trying to write on tumblr, stuff like that!!! and then maybe we could chat to writers who like, face unique challenges—like plagiarism or whatever, or a smaller audience or a BIGGER audience—and what kind of choices you have to make when writing online, in terms of sticking around or granting yourself peace away from it. maybe we could chat to writers who are friends!!! what does it mean to have an organic friendship but also look completely cliquey from the outside. smut writers!!!!! like, how does that change how people interact with you (horny posting), etc etc. we could talk to fanartistsss and what it means to create art in a niche where you kinda can’t draw the second half of the pairing LOL. and tbh i would end the series by talking to either writers who’s work personally impacted me or just doing a breakdown of andypants’s fics LMFAOOOO, the big draw. 😎

Serenity - k. bakugou

It has been a couple of hours since the two of you left the sprawling city behind. The surrounding cars that joined you at the beginning of your journey had slowly trickled down to only a hundred, to sixty, to twenty, to five, until yours was the only one occupying the single-lane highway. You and Katsuki are the only humans for miles; your grandfather’s old Toyota the only piece of machinery in an otherwise untouched landscape- minus the road, of course.   

You leisurely watch the landscape go by. The only sounds in the car are the music emitting from the speakers and the soft tap tap of Katsuki’s fingers on the steering wheel in tune with the beat. You think you doze off for a bit, but it’s hard to tell with your surroundings never changing for miles.

It’s quite tranquil, you think. The repetitive beauty of the rolling valley hills and the steep cliffs that protect them ease your soul. Eventually, Katsuki turns onto a dirt driveway. You sit up in your seat and begin to fumble with your fingers until your husband takes your hands into his own. He squeezes them lightly. The car stops a couple of hundred feet before an old farmhouse that is neatly tucked in a small forest clearing. The trees are far enough apart to not feel suffocating and allow some sunlight to shine onto the land. You both get out of the car and come around the hood to stand side by side as you both take in your new home; the place in which the unforgiving world won’t be able to find you. You and Katsuki will build a peaceful life, one in which the Bakugou family will grow without worrying about prying eyes and whether that noise was an intruder or the floorboards creaking due to the air conditioning. There would be no more stress.

This was the start of a new beginning.

W- Wouldn’t be the first time, as some people did have an affinity for watching unassuming females. Even as she finally turned into the hallway on the end of which was the stairway leading down towards her quarters, she considered sprinting, in case there was a spirit about to nab her. But before she could make good on that thought, a fae emerged from the stairway, and Y/n’s voice died down, the only sound now the echoes of the song. (Creep- Azriel x Maid!reader, posting on april 4th, 8pm gst)

I- "I wanted to play alone." Y/n huffed, rolling her eyes. "I’m Y/n. What’s your name?" He stared at her extended hand for a moment, then took it. "Azriel." "Can I play with you?" "Why?" She pouted. "Cassian threw a big ball at me and I am mad at him." (Azriel x reader, unnamed😛, a request <3)

N- "No." Y/n raised a brow. "No?" The girl rolled her eyes. "I have to go play mama!" As the shadow of her mate fell over her, Y/n looked up, shooting him an exasperated look. He only grinned, looking down at the toddler, shaking his head. (from a fic series named, for now, 'Wings'. prone to change- Azriel x reader)

G- "Go, give this back to him." Olga mumbled, offering her the hilt. Y/n pouted, widening her eyes in hopes it would placate the female in front of her. Alas, there was barely anything that would distract Olga from work. (again from the fic creep lols)

S- She cocked her head. "What do you think it means?" Longing and guilt took root in Azriel as he shifted from foot to foot, his mothers soft, gentle voice playing through his head like the sound of an innocent child's laughter, hiding behind dark crevices and shadowy alcoves as they played hide and seek. Story behind URL: hahaha. (I can’t believe I’m admitting this) a couple of years ago I needed a new, more grown-up username compared to my original. around that time is when I fell into the kpop hole and I started studying Korean; however my last name is quite difficult and lowkey kind of impossible to transcribe into Hangul (Korean alphabet), so I went ‘hey! let’s just use kim as my Korean last name and keep my first name’. (and at the time I was unhealthy obsessed with bts and little 15 year old me was convinced that I was going to marry kim taehyung) I changed the spelling of my first name to match the romanization from the Hangul alphabet (besides the l and y) and viola! kimkaelyn was born!

Fun fact: I can read Hangul, but I have no idea what any of it means😭

I’m doing okay! I’ve faced death in my line of work before, the case I mentioned in particular was just really gross and sad and like probably one of the worst calls of my career so far so I’m processing right now.

On the bright side I’m in the middle of the first couple days off (semi, a little school work here and there) that I’ve had in weeks, and I have an adorable cat named Katsuki who has been in my face 24/7 since I got back from that shift!
