Whenever I think about the fact I liked g/t as a kid I always laugh because like even as a four year old I was like

"Yeah, I wanna kidnapped by a giant"

Like I was thinking about this today cause I was talking to my friend about strange things we did to cope as kids. And I told her I would lay under the covers and wrap them around myself REALLY tight (I've always liked having pressure on me) and would imagine a giant basically doing the scene in the bfg where he kidnaps the little girl.

Brains are so weird.

Borrowers don't trust humans. They're big, clumsy and judgemental- and would definitely hurt you if given the chance.

So imagine your surprise when after you've been living successfully alone for the first time with a human in thier one bed apartment that when you get sick and haven't been able to borrow in a while...

There is a voice at your mouse hole.

"Hey uh...I know I'm probably not supposed to notice you and all but you haven't taken the Cheerios I left out for you like usual and I heard what sounded like coughing so...Are you alright? Can I get you some cold meds? Anything at all? I'm honestly worried, little buddy."

There is fear to begin with. How long had this bean known you were there?

And if so, how long had they played along and let you keep borrowing without interference?

You respond with a cough. You feel the floor shake as they get up and leave a moment, then watch a massive finger gently push a bottle cap full of water into the mouse hole.

"You sound awful, little guy. I know I'm probably horrifying to be around since I'm like bajillion times your size but seriously, let me know what I can do."

You don't ever verbally respond for the first while, but the human is persistent. They bring you carefully measured cough syrup, enough that you can take a bit and actually get some sleep. They bring warm tea, a few crumbs of their own dinner, even hot broth. The latest item is a teeny tiny plush toy frog and blanket, handmade with crude stitching. The blanket is so soft and the new toy a welcome friend.

"Thank you."

You say.

There is a pause, and you can hear the human shift.

"Any time." They reply.

The human sounds a bit flustered, like they might be blushing.

Is it weird for you to find a being big enough to hold you in the palm of their hand with room to spare kind of cute?

Until I thought about

Being put inside a hoodie's pocket, with the giant's hands completely encompassing your body. You can feel them, and they can feel you too. You can't see anything, but you feel safe, knowing that they'd never hurt you or let anyone else hurt you.

I got an idea for a g/t scenario and wanted to share it with y’all

How about a princess who is kidnapped by a giant (for whatever reason) and then the guy she was arranged to marry and a couple of knights go on a mission to rescue her. When they get to where the giant lives they sneak pass the giant unnoticed and get to the princess to rescue her, however, they find her not imprisoned, but chilling on a giant pile of pillows while snaking some of the giants food, this of course leaves them confused, but they approach her nonetheless, they try to “save” her and take her back but she refuses saying she’d rather stay there. The arranged husband however, does not care and tries to take her by force, thankfully the giant arrives in that moment and stops them from taking the princess, the arranged husband, being as stupid as he is decides that him and his men will fight the giant to “reclaim” the princess, obviously they loose cuz bruh ain’t no way you thought you were gonna win against someone who is 20 times ur size 💀 and the princess and the giant live happily ever after :)

TBH i haven’t read too much yet, but I saw the pictures at an elementary school book fair and IMMEDIATELY had to buy it.

Plus, the pictures are so cute I had to share!

From what I can tell, It’s not a G/t book, but it’s a book that has G/t. (Beggars can’t be choosers lol.)

I totally get the concept of size shifting under duress- whether it’s stress, high heart rate, negative emotions (exquisite concept)-

but what do we think of size shifting because of joy? Elation? Relief?

ALRIGHT so Sizeshifters right? We all know em we all love them! I mean who wouldn’t?!? They can be a giant or a tiny whenever you need them to be. BUT WAIT! What about the emotional ones? The ones whose shift based on their emotions? Yeah they’re classic too and we love them just as much. But what if there were other reasons that cause sizeshifters to shift?

Hear me out, a sizeshifter whose size fully depends on what they ate the other day. I don’t mean in the basic sense of if they ate a lot they big and if they ate a little they small, no no. I mean like some foods make them shrink and other foods make the grow. Like You just find them eating a whole bunch of nuts and they just go “nuts make me shrink and I’m trying to avoid going to work tomorrow cause I just don’t want to man” or they start chugging water cause “water it the only thing that balances my size to normal and if I’m not normal sized tomorrow I’m sooooo fucked” etc etc. They try to eat the things they have before cause they know how it effects them the next day, but everyday they are tempted to try that new restaurant but they really don’t want to roll the dice on their height the next day man.

Or what about a sizeshifter whose size is affected by weather? Sunny day? Oh nice normal height! Clouds start rolling in? Uh oh now they’re shrinking. Rain? They’re smaller! Thunderstorm?!? Whelp they’re hella small, and they’re hoping a tornado doesn’t form because that would be actually more terrifying than anything. Snow though? Oh look they get bigger? More snow?!? Even bigger! Full on blizzard?!? People start leaving their cold homes to hide in the now giant’s pockets cause they are way warmer and very spacious at this point. My dude probably has his heads in the clouds…literally!! People eventually just keep tabs on the shifter to see what the weather is like. Clouds forming ahead? Alright are they shrinking or growing cause then they’ll know if it’s rain or snow.

What about a sizeshifter whose size depends on the animal they last seen/interacted with. Yeah usually they’re human sized cause that’s the one they usually see but suddenly touching a dog? Boom now they the height of that dog. A spider decides to crawl onto their back? Boom! They got the same spider problem but now it’s way more serious. They go out to sea and get to touch a whale? Whelp looks like they’re swimming back to shore with a rope tethered to them just in case they bump into a smaller fish and they can’t fit on the boat at the moment.

We always go to emotion for sizeshifter who can’t control their ability and it’s a beautiful classic but just what if there were sizeshifter who had the same problem but just different reason? I think it’d be neat to have so many variations!

The Hakuna Matata Trio is actually a flavor of G/T if you think about it (or at least Size Difference)

Like obviously you have Timon and Pumbaa in itself:

That's a dynamic size duo there. But then you add Simba into the picture and-

That is a mixed size family right there if I've ever seen one.

Just look at this. Tell me this isn't peak G/T. Just a Tiny and his Giant adopted son he raised with his Mini Giant husband.

Tinies looking lovingly up at their giant lover, the object of their affection taking up their entire view, neck crained uncomfortably upwards to be able to take them in and all their glory. Wishing they weren't so small so that they could display their affection in a more meaningful way, but also not wanting a thing to change, because in quiet moments like these, where they can spend their time attempting to admired them in their entirety, but having to change where they're looking so that they can see everything, they wouldn't change a thing.

The absolute shithead of a giant that is their lover wondering if they could catapult their tiny lover by hitting the bed next to them.

A giant carefully snatches you up off the ground despite your struggles, your cries, your fear. They feel immediate guilt for causing such a reaction but you aren't safe to stay here where you could be stepped on or caught by someone far less gentle.

"I'm so sorry."

Their voice rumbles through you and you are hugged gently to thier chest. You sob, because that's all you can do.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."

The giant continues to whisper hushed apologies as they spirit your trembling, tiny form away.

Every time I open tumblr I see beautiful g/t art with creative and cool poses like what??? How do yall do that, pls if anybody has any tips or ideas pls help cuz I swear all the poses I come up with look like this

You know what's better than giants taking care of tiny kids? Tiny teens :D

Upset teenagers giving their giant parent a silent treatment, showing them they're mad

Teens who are sarcastic, often a bit too harsh with their words for their parent's taste

When they're ignoring everything and everyone, just staring into the void and grunting reluctantly when the parent adresses them:

"What's up with you?"

*grunts and turns away*

"Aw c'mon, kid. You can't ignore me forever, you know?"

*grunts again*

Teens who are stubborn and almost nothing won't go through their think skull, though they're very insecure and try to hide it from everyone

They're constantly arguing, snapping, rolling their eyes at their parent who actually just wants to know what's the reason for their behavior

And the parent won't admit it but they're kinda hurt that their kid gives them the cold shoulder

But then there are these soft moments between the two of them when the teen obviously is in need for comfort and only knows one person who can provide such comfort

So they groggily walk up to their giant parent, quietly sitting down next to them only to see a gentle smile out of the corner of their eye and a big hand scooping them up

"So, you finally stopped being grouchy, huh, kiddo? I thought you said you never wanted to see me again."

"That, I- uhm... I didn't mean it."

"I know, kid. Just remember that you can tell me everything and I'm always here for you if you need me."

"Yeah, you told me that at least hundred times now."

"And I'll tell you one time more because I care about you. And because somehow that still won't get trough your thick head!"

"Alright, you old man!"

"Pipsqueak!"

Though very insecure at first, the teen leans into the touch when the giant ruffled their hair with a finger affectionately
