「CLIMB 」 : for sender to climb into receivers lap / for mountain

indulging in the warm afternoon, mountain was, settling into the mattress in his glamour, a hand deftly taking rolled joint and setting it alight, with a lighter he might've snatched from someone earlier / he exhales the smoke through his nose, lazy and contented. his frame sinks further into the bed. it's a rare respite from the hectic routine of tours and chef work, a moment away from the others and their anticipatory chaos, a chance to indulge in the finer things for a few moments.

green gaze languidly fixes on copia, then, head settling into the pillow with wisps of hair falling out of his original messy bun. he considers calling to him. he considers charming him, even, in a low and quiet tone, gentle and rolling, compelling enough for the antipope to laze with him 𑁋 to let the trickling sunlight coming through the window warm them, as much as their closeness would. to let mountain talk away any lingering stresses or thoughts he might have, to fend off the responsibilities of his position before he falls too far. he takes another drag of his joint instead. his eyes fall shut, the smoke leaving his mouth slowly as he does.

when his eyes open again, it's because of a weight shifting his frame. he watches copia with relaxed gaze. the man climbs into his lap, claiming the space for himself, and mountain props himself up with an elbow into a half-seated position. joint still smoking between his fingers, all the while his others reach to copia's upper thigh, a quiet moment of contact. ❛ hey, ❜ as his hand runs up a little higher, ❛ you comfortable? ❜

the sun's rays are warm against his face, and it lights up copia's features enough for the ghoul to take his time admiring them ; he holds a quiet reverence in the way he observes. the light makes the freckles stand out a bit more against pale skin, capturing the streaks of grey and bringing them alight among mousy brown, the ever vivid green and white looking right back at him. his thumb caresses over the thigh idly, calmly. he presses lightly, in a brief means to ground and calm. [ though, he supposes a part of it is enjoying how soft he is there. he would think it wise to kiss the skin there, let his teeth speak the words he doesn't say. ]

the next drag of his joint comes with mountain sitting up properly now, other hand shifting from copia's thigh upwards, fingers feather-light as he passes his hip, rests easily against his side as his final destination. ❛ you know... if you want something, all you have to do is ask. ❜ / @faithstar, subtle nsfw.

“You know, I don’t think you’re doing that right,” Ben said, a slight shine to his eyes as Elsie continued sharpening her blade. “Your arm motion’s all wrong.”

Setting aside his stew bowl, he rose from his perch and moved over to join her, the comforting crackle of flames accompanying the silence as she glared up at him. In truth, Elsie had every right to be angry -- she wasn’t sharpening the blade wrong at all; he’d just been oddly compelled to be near her, to touch her, which was why he genuflected and curled his hands around her arms, halting her manic movements.

“Try a smoother upstroke,” Ben instructed. Carefully, he clasped her wrist and encouraged her to slide the blade against the whetstone, curving her motions so that she scraped in a slant. “That’s it -- much better.”

Expression softening, he slid his free hand over hers and fondly squeezed, encouraging her to stop sharpening altogether. He wasn’t good with women -- with yearnings, with romantic overtures, with emotion -- and he never felt that detriment more strongly than in this moment.

Her gaze fell to his mouth then, and he succumbed to the hint, leaning in to draw his lips over hers in a soft, gentle kiss that lacked all the fire and roughness of war. This time, their touch was allowed to be warm, ardent, alive, and full of the promise neither were certain they could keep.

ok gang i think that after this week al and i will be in a normal flow and things will have settled down and i will probably find time to write. it’s just been hectic over here as far as class goes, social obligations, fixing up the place, situations w/floor mates, and work. idk, but it should ease up a bit.

plus i literally ALWAYS have something i can be working on which is kind of bogus, but also a little nice when reading YA is homework. (self imposed reading of stuff i pick out plus good titles isn’t so bad)
