tried booting it up and it hit me with a 12gb update. i can hear the internet connection churning trying to get through it. yikers.
was looking at the storage space on my ps5 (it's dire) and noticed jedi: survivor takes up 150gb. first of all, that's absurd and I hate that games of more than 100gb exist. second of all, bitch that's a game I own on disc? why are you taking up 150gb of space and still need a disc to run?

Omg you're a RE fan <3 would love for you to talk about it more if you dont mind answering what's your opinion on RE2R and RE4R compared to the OG ? (I love RE4R mainly for how they did so well with the characters development but story wise RE2R is better imo)
Yes, haha. I've been playing the RE games since the beginning!
To answer your questions, I love RE2R and RE4R immensely! I know it's probably sacrilege to say to some, but I think both games are obviously superior to the originals, not just in terms of graphical improvement, but in terms of character and story development, and also overall game play. People get nostalgic for the originals, I understand, but there's not really a contest as far as immersion goes and also game mechanics.
I thought they did an amazing job in RE4R of grounding Leon and making him a more believable and layered character, as well as Ashley, who, lets face it, in the original is pretty annoying, lol, and Leon is much more your sort of archetypal action hero, zinging off one-liners instead of sounding like a real person. So they really did an incredible job of bringing both of them to life in the remake. The same, I think, for RE2R, where Leon again came across much more nuanced and human, despite retaining that heroic, boy scout heart.
And yeah, just like with the original RE2 and RE4, RE2R is much more of a survival-horror game, and in a lot of ways more difficult, since your weapons are much more limited, requiring a lot more strategizing and methodical thinking. I would say I like both stories equally, particularly because RE4R builds so well off of what happened in RE2R, and we really see how Leon has changed from one game to the next, how his experiences in Racoon City have shaped and influenced him. He's so much more worn-down and jaded in RE4R, something you can witness even in his physical presentation, the weary expressions he wears, how even his voice sounds much more weary. Which, again, is a vast improvement over the original, where the trauma of what he went through, both in Racoon City, and in the aftermath, with the government essentially kidnapping him and forcing him into their special ops program, isn't nearly as developed or explored. I just think both games compliment each other beautifully. We watch Leon go from this very optimistic, hopeful young man who genuinely wants to do good and believes he can, to someone who still genuinely wants to do good and does the best he can to achieve that, but who's kind of had the optimism kicked out of him, who's plagued by doubt and who's also carrying a lot of guilt over not being able to save more people in Racoon City, carrying that guilt and trauma into his mission in Spain to rescue Ashley, and that being what drives him toward believing not just that he can save this girl, but that he has to. It's why I still think the developers for RE 9 are deflecting, because Leon is the character who has the most connection to Racoon City and the trauma associated with the T-Virus outbreak there. You could argue that Jill also has that connection, but by the time she'd gotten to Racoon City proper in RE3, she'd already gone through it in the Spencer mansion, had already encountered the virus outbreak, and was also already an experienced special ops officer, and so it didn't have the same shock impact on her, I don't think, that it did Leon, who was literally showing up to his first day on the job and had zero experience in the field as a police officer. I think Leon has a special connection to Racoon City because he was plunged so mercilessly into the horror and tragedy of what was going on, and was basically running solo through the whole experience. Jill had her team with her in the mansion, Chris and Barry, etc... And while Leon had Claire, and later Ada, again, he'd only just met the both of them, and Ada flat out betrays him at the end, before seemingly dying, adding to his trauma, and most of the game is spent without much interaction between them. So I think Leon's trauma related to Racoon City is unique in the franchise.
So yeah, I think both games are equally good, while presenting you with very different types of game play and also very different versions of the same character, Leon being fundamentally changed by his experiences between the games, but still remaining the same, good man he's always been at his core.
Anyway, I hope that answers your questions and thank you for the ask! It's a lot of fun getting to talk about Resident Evil for me! It's my all-time favorite game franchise, along with the Legend of Zelda!

sometimes i think of that rpgmaker thing you did a while back, and how striking the style was. do you have any plans for anything like that again in the future?
i really loved drawing for that but i was put in a 3way suckage position:
1. making “manifesto rpg” before i finished making manifesto comics was like giving me an identity crisis bc i want to be primarily a comics artist and also to tell the specific manifesto story through a comic medium so i was writing like an obtuse semi canon story that involved those characters so that i wouldn’t like feel like i blew my load but also it was taking up so much time that while i was doing it i wasnt making comics and i was like man i should be making comics instead but ultimately i just couldnt do either at the time bc of my brain. but like writing the story for the game and adding enemies and plot details felt like i was walking through a minefield of longterm story planning where i was like “would i want the prospective audience of this game to know this detail before i finish my comics?” which is already something i struggle with in my comics with like nonlinear story telling and trying to decide the most optimal order of impacts to tell the specific story i want which changes based on my mood etc like it was genuinely stressing me out very badly so the story i ended up writing for that game bc this weird bloated thing that was simultaneously not going to be substantial but also felt like i was giving away my best kept secrets for free or something lol
2. i dont know how to write javascript very well so i couldnt make the class system as elaborate as i wanted and the battle system was extremely interesting to me to fabricate but learning javascript and also the like rpgmaker specific terms was really daunting and taking me weeks of time where i was doing bad at it and also not making any money and also paying rent
3. the amount of detail and one off art assets i was generating and the fact i was drawing everything traditionally in a specific style i was developing for the game then touching it up in specific ways and trying to hew as closely to red/black/white as possible was incredibly inefficient and incredibly time consuming and i have like an incredible litany of mental health disorders and at that time in particular i was extremely unable to genuinely focus on anything for very long and i basically hyper obsessed over that project for like 2-3 months and then completely crashed MOSTLY bc the feeling that i wasnt making money OR comics at the time made me feel like i was losing my way so i basically pivoted my entire shit back to screen printing soon after that so that i could make money
all of that being said, i would Love to do some shit like that again, i try to advertise that to people and put it in my portfolio and stuff, but i don’t have the time or money to do it, and also, the kind of art i make, the kind of ideas i have, in my experience are so like stylistically Me and like Strong, that often times i think people struggle to collaborate with me or are just patently uninterested in it bc it feels like “ivy stuff”, like it subsumes other stuff, and so i think if i did make something like that i would have to resolve the above 3 problems and do it mostly solo or have so much money that i could pay someone else to do coding stuff for me. idk. maybe one day. i do think ive gotten incredibly better at skills like project management and dedicating myself long term to finishing things in the years since then, like the hot sauce miku drop or a bunch of other personal projects ive taken on have taught me better. i have more friends and such. i am relatively optimistic one day something like this could happen

Was just scrolling through my storage and cleaning out caches when i realized i havent logged into arknights in six days
I think ive burnt out but i dont really want to go... What do i do?
Take a break. Just don't play it for a week or something.
"But what about dailies?" Don't matter. "I'll log in at least for the log-in bonu--" Nope, don't do that. Just don't play for a few days. I take a week or two off from time to time. It's a game. You play to enjoy it, not to feel obligated to it.
Some days I wake up, think "I don't want to play this for a bit", and then I don't. "But it's not optimal" Who cares? It's not an e-sport. You know what's less optimal than missing a few days' worth of Sanity and dailies? Quitting the game altogether because you stopped enjoying it and feel utterly burned out on it.
Just straight up don't play for a bit, don't even log in, just come back when you actually want to. Do other stuff. We all have a backlog of something to go through, hobbies, shows, books, games, outings, do those instead. Getting in the mentality of "but I Must Log In Even When I Don't Want To" is exactly how you either develop a dependent addiction or truly burn yourself out on something. I know people that will only log in onto mobile games and then close the game for months and sometimes years simply because "but what if I want to go back to it?" and the vast majority just don't.
Just hit the bricks, anon. If you want to come back, you'll do it, and if you don't, you won't, but odds are, you'll enjoy it at its fullest again if you let it cool down for a bit, whereas trying to force it will actually just burn you out for good. The mere fact that you are asking this suggests to me at least that you don't want to stop playing permanently as much as you just want to let it simmer down a little.

half life theory
So I saw this conversation between two people on discord, “You know, I realised something In Half Life 1, Gordon, a physicist, is the most dangerous thing for the army that came to kill the scientists (edited) Not the aliens, not the tentacles coming out of the ground that gibs everything No Gordon fucking Freeman is the biggest threat there” “i mean only because hes supposed to approach combat in a methodical/scientific way, as apposed to the monsters and military, the whole tagline for the first game was "run think shoot live", the combat and environments are presented like a puzzle so in that way of course a scientist is goin to dominate” And it got me thinking, you know what actually makes Gordon so unstoppable? Cus i dont think it’s the whole being a scientist thing. For one, he's outfitted with super science gear like the hev suit and experimental weapons. But more importantly, he’s got a massive supply of miracle cures from another dimension. Gordon wouldn't matter for jack shit if black mesa hadn't set up medical centers full of xen healing goop every 20 feet that let him learn from his mistakes in ways no other human soldier had the opportunity to do up until that point. I mean in the regular military, you generally don't get the chance to learn from the mistake of being shot. You just get shot once or twice and you're done for. And as for the theory I developed from this... This healing goo situation could actually be a great reason why g-man would have had to wait a few years to release Gordon again. He'd have to wait until the ant lion healing goop became ubiquitous across locations Gordon would have to travel through, so Gordon could effectively use his skills to speedily rip through locations like a human bullet. Maybe even poke at the threads of fate to ensure Gordon would have recovery tools when needed. Essentially gman and his associates being a level design game developer making sure Gordon has suit chargers and healing goop whenever things get hairy. And with him encouraging the development of the black mesa action protagonist format that was potentially refined not just through Gordon, but with Adrian Shepard, Colette Green, Gina Cross, and Barney Calhoun as well.
Like Black Mesa coulda been an outstanding experiment and proof of concept for a somewhat omnipotent being of how to create human torpedoes if ya really think about it. Learning what sort of conditions lead to humans becoming absurdly lethal super soldiers within the span of just a few days, and how to optimize this process. Not just in the sense of the real life developers of half life learning and growing from the franchise. But g-man and his mysterious benefactors, canonically, in universe, using the events at black mesa and all it’s expansions and spin offs, as practice for the events of half life 2, alyx, and eventually someday half life 3. Just the typical videogame format of having a power and skill progression could take on a new meaning if ya look at it from an in universe context rather than just a pretext for fun gameplay. Instead consider it as a semi-omnipotent being, learning that if you put a human far enough from something you want destroyed, manage their increase of skill and power by putting them through progressively more difficult situations one after the other, with liberal access to resources and fast recovery tools. Then within 2-4 days you’ll be able to hit your enemy with a powerhouse super soldier that seemed to come out of nowhere and they had little opportunity to prepare against because of just how quickly these humans are able to go from zero to hero in optimal conditions. And even though not all of the black mesa event protagonists have been guaranteed to have have survived, so long as they're able to achieve a otherwise impossible goal before their death, they would still count as data towards refining the black mesa action hero method and being able to replicate it to use against the combine. Like if you think about it, each of the half life 1 protagonists could fit in nicely as tests/proof of concepts for different tasks, and different kinds of optimizations for these so called hero types. Like Gordon is solo act/jack of all trades, Collett and Gina are a co-op duo (potentially helpful data for when gordon and alyx would have to work together in the future), Barney is specialized for escort quests of non-combatants, Adrian is a squad leader of more combat focused types, and Alyx is a backup jack of all trades and test to make sure that the system of having a human run a gauntlet of challenges optimized for their growth still works effectively in a post combine world. Could probably even measure when these environmental conditions of having frequent healing and the opportunity for rapid skill progression that comes along with it really came together in the post combine earth, by how and when Alyx was able to become a near unstoppable human badass in her own spin off game.

Game Development Software Service |  Virtual Reality Game Development
The market for apps is becoming increasingly competitive and in order to develop an edge that will capture your audiences from day one, your mobile application needs features that will make your application usable and unique. In almost every aspect of app optimization, the one constant has always been top-notch UI/UX design and development. Find Best  Game Development Software Service
In this post, we will be focusing on User Interface aka UI but will also be mentioning a bit of User Experience (UX). While both are different and often erroneously interchangeably used, their benefits and purpose does connect them.
User interface is the way your app looks, when a user has downloaded it and is exploring the way the app works. UI measures are put into place by designers to ensure that the right target market is able to easily engage with your business’s app and therefore your product.
The primary components that fall under User Interface include the graphics, and presentation of the app.
User Experience on the other hand is the way your user perceives or feels about your mobile application which would ultimately define how they feel about your product. It is UI that makes UX satisfactory. In order to do so however, startup software developers are required to be provided with a thorough understanding of your market and product.
Mobile development is evolving each day and it is steadily relying more and more on user interaction.
But what does a brilliant user interface really do for your business? For starters, it effectively communicates your brand image. People dont want to just know what you can do but also what your business is all about.
Check out some of the top advantages of employing fantastic User Interface in your app development journey.

rules: to show appreciation of gifmakers and how much they grow and what they do, post one of your first gifs and one of your most recent gifs, then tag some gifmakers to see how much they’ve grown and improved.
i was tagged by @smilecapsules! thank you so much sarah!
okay i couldnt decide on just two gifs to post, so this is really just gonna be a giant journey through all my gifmaking progress up to this point. for your sake, i have hid it under the read more.
if you want the tl;dr version, it can basically be summed up in that i went from this:
Tumblr media
to this:
Tumblr media
in just one year!
here is one of the first gifs i ever made:
Tumblr media
back in 2016-2017 i used an app called gif toaster on my ipad to make super simple basic gifs from videos that i downloaded from youtube, with another ipad app that is not available anymore. this gif is important bc girl meets world (and specifically rilaya) is what made me want to gif in the first place! i was so inspired by all the beautiful, deep, creative edits made by the gmw fandom and wanted to make cool stuff of my own. i definitely had a phase where i edited the lyrics to girls like girls onto every wlw pairing i ever shipped.
next theres this one:
Tumblr media
which is a sample from probably the worst gifset i have ever created. i dont delete anything ever, so if you go far enough back in my tag, its still there. i used to edit gifs frame by frame, with like 4 different apps/websites. that clover? i painstakingly added it in the same spot over and over to each individual frame!
and here’s the last pre-photoshop example i will include:
Tumblr media
when i learned how to use overlays on lunapic and had a very prolific text post meme phase, which i mostly put to work on my andi mack sideblog. despite the absolutely awful quality, this gifset has more notes than most of the sets ive posted. descendants 2 was so fun to post about.
i pretty much took a year off from tumblr in 2018, stopped creating stuff for the most part, became disconnected from lots of my old online friends. BUT THEN a bitch came back better than ever and finally took the steps to start learning photoshop in the summer of 2019! here are some samples of things i made when i had just barely learned to use photoshop:
Tumblr media
i started off with a gifset of my favorite band, bc ultimately my motiviation for making gifs always has and always will be to preserve the things i love the most. a few things to note here: i think i pretty much only added a brightness layer to this (bc i didnt know how to color yet), i hadnt heard of optimal dimensions so i didnt bother resizing this, and the image is vertically squished, which i didnt know how to fix at the time. i remember that it was a huge accomplishment for me to learn how to add text.
next we have this one:
Tumblr media
where i started learning how to use brushes. i was very focused on the umbrella academy when i first started using photoshop, and i was determined to teach myself to add pretty colors to things!
but THIS is where i changed the game:
Tumblr media
THIS is where it really started, folks! i had seen enough coloring tutorials to learn how to use selective color layers. and the first thing i did with them was oversaturate my cyans into oblivion. this was the best gif in the set, and everyone’s skin was super yellow toned in all the others.
from there i became more adventurous:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this sally gif marks a point in time where i started getting comfortable with my position as a gifmaker. i started to develop my coloring own style. but funnily enough, at this point, i still didnt know how to sharpen yet! i was still editing in frames instead of timeline, and i couldnt figure out what the people in tutorials were talking about when they mentioned timeline stuff.
in december i posted a hairspray gifset that i would define as the moment i learned and started mastering the vibrant coloring that i still do to this day:
Tumblr media
after this i arrived at what i consider to be my current style in terms of coloring and creativity.
[warning, coming next is a massive dump of recent (since march) gifs that im very proud of]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
so there you have it! i went from struggling and being very hard on myself for not having edits that i thought were as good as other people’s, to really finding my style and voice as a gifmaker. im so proud of how far ive come and everything im able to make and do now! if you are someone who is just starting out as a gifmaker, my advice to you is to not worry if what youre making isnt perfect! it takes a lot of work and practice to get to the place you wanna be, but definitely enjoy the journey, read lots of tutorials, and always try to keep learning!
im tagging: @ewangmcgregor @dancingwithourshandstied @colewald @asterflor @zu-ko @queenrojpag @stanzier @vangoghs @crayonstoperfume @tmhnks @diegohargreves @timeslord @gabriellabolton

Q&A #103
Today we have the Twine conversion, lesbian training mantras, social lube, a bunch of random stuff from the discord, and a whole lot more.
[Anonymous said]: I'm really curious what the tally means for your twine conversion posts. Can't seem to figure out what its suppose to represent progress wise...
- Answered this last Q&A. Because of you asking I’ve now also added the explanation to what it’s about to every stream post so I hope that helped with understanding what’s going on with that.
[Anonymous said]: Suggestion: For races that start with a random corruption (ie: Succubi), have an option in full custom to spend points to either narrow what that corruption is (to be one of the four types, for example) or to outright pick one (for a much higher cost).
- That’s a good idea. Being able to pick specifically I think would be too much. There are ALOT of corruptions so that would mean many many menus to be able to select everything. Being able to pick one of the four types seems fair to me as something to spend points on in Full Custom. Added it to my notes.
[Anonymous said]: Have a succubus slaver who used to be a lamia. On level up, she had the option to get the Fleet trait, which I thought was off-limits for Lamia due to their body shape. I think it's a bug?
- Good spot and should be fixed as of the last update.
[Anonymous said]: Noticed a bug with No Haven 0.903: If you select a human (or once-human) for your character, and then quick restart, your next character will keep the human's Racial aspect Social Lube. On the topic of that Racial, it says " includes one human, and three other different races/subtypes gain an additional Success" Does that mean one human and three non-humans, or one human and three slavers each of a different race from each other?
-Took me awhile to work this out as going from human to human seemed fine. However you’re right that those with a heritage like demi-angels or succubi will incorrectly keep the previous racial.
The second so as long as you have at least one human you can get the buff by say having a northerner, noble, wastelander, and convent.
[Anonymous said]: hi bud, xfto/x421 here, its been a long time i guess. wanted to ask about the status of the no haven/twine conversation. i joined your picardo lately but couldnt post some reports since you dont allow guest-posts. well anyway, the report is about something ridiculous i have found after some restarts, the chosen main charakter (lamia) starts as male with the hard carry aspect(immense shaft) and different description than the ones the perks would give. 1/2
another question, feels like i asked something similiar in the past, how about the integration of different artpacks/access to older pics, or deletion of those that never get used? i guess that would requiere some more access to the game than you allow atm. maybe with twine? do you have a roadmap on tfgames or somewhere for the future of no haven? i know there are some more races you want to implement and improve some systems, but thats it, hope you are doing well in these times. 2/2
I do an update on the patreon every two weeks which is linked on the twitter. You do not need to be a patron to read these and is the best way to stay informed about what I’ve been up to. That includes the status of the conversion. To quickly sum it up;
It's at a stage where all the RAGS to Twine code conversion is basically done. What I need to do now is translate all that work into something playable and there's currently big logic issues with a bunch of the conditions and passages. So what I'm currently doing is trying to tidy up the visual look of the code with a bunch of idents with the theory that will make finding the errors easier.
Alas it’s not me disallowing guest posts... Picarto had some massive stonking issues and so they locked things down hard due to that preventing guests from chatting. I suggest a throwaway email site to get around that.
I don’t think there’s any art in the game file that’s not used as I try to keep on top of deleting the old ones. Not really down for doing art packs of the old ones as due to that not being my art so I see them as placeholder only until they can be replaced by commissions.
I probably do need to do some kind of roadmap sometime. I’m less keen as it’s kind of a dirty word these days as due to the miss-use of them by others it’s got some bad connontations, but I’m also aware the alternative which is me randomly mentioning stuff on discord/picarto streams leaves the vast majority of my audience in the dark which is also really not ideal.
[Anonymous said]: [no haven 0.903] [Crit no longer grants Bimboborn] okay, but how do I get bimboborn now?
- It’s a corruption. Specifically Blessings of Perversion.
[Anonymous said]: With the change to training where hypnotic slavers can fully embed the relevant mantras for blowjob, bimbo, and sissy training, could we also get that for lesbian training?
- Yes that’s the plan when I do the third part of lesbian training. Got a set of commissions planned just got to sort the funding and work out who I’m getting to do it.
[Anonymous said]: hey bud, x421 here, again, might be already fixed because thats from no haven .903, but i recently had the witch queen super rare quest, you might want to proof read the quest and results, there are a few typos. i really did enjoy the writing nonetheless, just a quick question about that quest, as far as i understood this one, you only change your odds of the final result depending on how good you do on your way to the final, but the reward in the end only depends on the final result? 1/2
2/2 it just dawned on me that its been a while since you made an Q&A post so i guess i ll go and lurk on the tfgames forum in the next days, just one last question: i asked early in development about camp upgrades and you were not that convinced about that stuff, i understand you want the slaver camp as some bandit camp and not some castle/bastion or whatever, but since you added camp upgrades, maybe add proximity to a certain region? or something to spend supplies and gold in a 13month+ run?
- Hah! Okay will give it another read through. That’s correct yes. There’s also rewards on the way if you Critical those parts.
There is a new gold sink coming soon in an upcoming update. I’ve also got plans for more camp upgrades coming later.
[From the Patreon]: I'm that guy you replied to about the patch notes in Q&A 101. Solid updates. Bugs in the outfit system has driven me nuts since like, 2015, has it been that long already? I think it has. I like collecting them and something always blows up. This time, I ended up with a slaver wearing both the ooze outfit and ponygirl outfit. So there's that. Also I was disappointed the new Quicker then You'd Like wasn't interactive. Solid in any case though, thanks!
- I'll get them all one day I swear! Don't suppose you remember the chain of events that led to that? New QAYL was a patron requested one with the idea of having a big pay off for playing submissive which often involves playing sub-optimally.
[From the Patreon]: 1-ive been noticing when you choose to repick choices for an slave training assignment the slave gets added to the list of choices 2-also just how rare is the post-slave princess city assignment, cause i can never seem to get it even after selling multiple slave princesses 3-another thing is that the nightly puppet-leader stat is almost impossible to get again(either that or i have bedwarmers incapable of usurping me even thought i my current stats mean i couldnt win against even the subbiest slave)
- Will check 3 as you've not been the only person to mention that. 2 I know exists for sure as other people have definitely got it. Should be no rarer than any other rare City assignment, and thanks for the spot on 1.
[From the Discord]: Top 3 Animes of the 2010 to 2020
Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica the series was staggeringly good. Just redefined what anime could be to me. Film is a... well it was a thing. A beautiful thing with an ending which I still quite know how to feel about.
Shirobako. It’s about creativity, craft, and about how people can come together to make something. It might not be something good, but dangit it’s been made and that’s worthwhile. It’s also from personal experience by miles the most accurate depiction of working in an office I’ve ever seen.
Oh man this is very very hard deciding on the third so pick one of the following and I could probably make a strong case for it.
Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon, Darling in the FranXX (yes really, yes even the ending), Lupin III: Part 5, Kill la Kill, Monster Musume, Flip Flappers, Demi-chan wa Kataritai, Zombieland Saga, or Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai.
Also while I was taking the question to mean series both Your Name and Promare are absolutely phenonemal films.
[From the Discord]: Best recent Eurovision Act
Lena. Always Lena.
[From the Discord]: What's the agricultural technological level of No Haven like
It’s not hit industrialization yet. What makes the difference is and allows cities like Aversol and even bigger to exist is that the organization of the human empire is far better than it has any right to be for the other levels of development being able to keep an incredibly complex supply chain constantly flowing even if on the ground level it barely seems to be moving at all. There are also some much, much larger farms both on the Great Plains and further to the north compared to the much more isolated single/couple of households ones that your slavers raid.
[From the Discord]: What have been some of your all-time favourite assignments, both in terms of working on them and how they turned out?
Love When Week’s End Comes for a recent one. Writing all the results in colour commentary (and all the variations for weather, events and outcomes) was a real challenge and I do like how it came out.
Witch-Queen and Arisin’ for being the first times I tried to go for a different, more potentially disturbing/freaky mood, and I’m pleased with the results.
Sable Masquerade as I really like the ‘bad end’ I came up with. Actually I like the whole thing as while the pitch from the patron obviously helped, a lot of it was inspired by a random superhero bondage party picture I saw on HF, which I decided to run with, and had a bunch of fun exploring.
[From the Discord]: Weirdest bug and most difficult bug
The one that resulted in a male wisp riding a griffon was a fun one.
Most difficult has to be the clothing management which as a previous question suggests I’ve still not entirely solved.
[From the Discord]: If No Haven was an MMO, what race/class would you play?
Kreen rogue mainly as I really like the edit I did for the portrait which MidnightonMars later translated into a commission.
If not definitely a lamia.
[From the Discord]: Knowing what you do now about the design of the game, are there any game mechanics you wish you'd have implemented differently?
Clothing management. So very much clothing management. I’ve redone it entirely twice now, and it’s still not where I want it to be.
[From the Discord]: What was your inspiration for creating the setting of No Haven?  Has the direction the game has gone varied from your initial idea? If so what has been the biggest change?
- It started off with adapting the chan game Deeper Dungeons which was basically a certain popular mmo with nothing different about it outside of it being porn along with some possibly unwise options of personal abuse. I first changed it by ditching gnomes for neko which to my mind was a clear upgrade. There even used to be an examine refference in the RAGS version to suggest they’d been in the region of the dungeons before being driven out.
Then it was a gradual process of adding with the occasional subtractions to get it closer to a more Warhammer feeling setting which has always been a major love of mine when I was still doing Whorelock’s in RAGS.
With No Haven it was a case of building on what I’ve done there and expanding upon that with the race lore and assignment descriptions. Biggest was probably when I did the favoured/unfavoured stuff and added a ton of extra backstory to various races to justify the choices made there.

Benefits of a Good User Interface for Enterprise Application Development
3.7k apps are added to the Google Store EVERY DAY. Out of these, you would barely remember and download 10 new apps every few months.
The market for apps is becoming increasingly competitive and in order to develop an edge that will capture your audiences from day one, your mobile application needs features that will make your application usable and unique. In almost every aspect of app optimization, the one constant has always been top-notch UI/UX design and development.
Increases Responsiveness
A good user interface makes you say wow at first glance. A great user interface harbors a high standard of responsiveness.
This means that the app was designed to meet the anticipations of the user. For example, an app that takes forever to load or to switch from one section to another will annoy users to the point where they will stop using it or delete it altogether. Their reviews are going to reflect their experiences and you will have a harder time attracting more users.
On the opposite end of this spectrum is an app that loads fast and is super easy to use without the user wondering if their device might be glitching or if they need to up their internet bandwidth. Spoiler: they will always choose a competitor app over paying more for the internet.
Makes the User Experience Convenient
When creating an app business plan most entrepreneurs wonder about monetization strategies, often because they dont want potential users to be annoyed by the in-app ads. However you have to pick a way to make your app profitable and more often than not this is it.
To make sure that your users do not have to deal with too much inconveniences, is where a UI designer comes in.
A competent user interface is one that adds in functions and buttons that will allow a user to carry out an action with minimal effort. The design solves their problem before they can even bring it up.
Makes the App Navigable
Some of the best apps are the simple ones. We call them simple because they have an excellent degree of clarity of what the user should do next after they have landed on a page.
If a user downloads your app and gets confused immediately afterwards about what to do with your app, they are not going to think much of the app itself. You want users to be able to carry on with their customer journey with as much ease as possible.
One of the ways a UI/UX developer does this is by using familiar icons and graphics to communicate what you should do next. Putting everything in text takes longer and uses up a lot of your interface space. The same principle is applied for when a color scheme is picked out. For instance, using red to alert, and using green to encourage the go-ahead.
Better Return on Investment
Customer satisfaction means a higher ROI. When a user has had a good experience with your app it is likely that they will recommend the app to other people which keeps on multiplying your userbase. Other than their own network, users are prone to review apps on the app store so anyone who would be browsing for a product or service that your business specializes in will likely download it for its ratings.
A Good Looking App
Part of defeating the competition is standing out visually. An aesthetically pleasing app is always enjoyable to use and awes the user into exploring it further. If they have used it once chances are they will be prompted to use it again next time they are browsing apps on their phone.
To make sure your software consultant does this, it is very important that they have been given enough briefing about the app, and the industry it will be operating in. The UI/UX development team will then move on to put themselves in the shoes of your ideal customer before they move forward with building the app skin.
Is Insightful
Your users are evolving and you are here to stay as a business and an app. One of the things a great UI does is that it allows you to gauge what your ideal customer interacts with and what they do not interact with. Over time, you get an accurate picture of what people like and what problem of theirs no one is addressing. This helps you improve your UI game and customer satisfaction strategy. Now you know why Facebook keeps updating its design and interactive features all the time.

I am an antivirus program (2020)
> Chapter 4 (OPTIONAL) This whole project has been a facsimile to actual real projects, and verbalised in the most abstruse way possible. It’s the culmination of it’s time, and you can’t blame me for it. I’m stuck transfixed to a screen as my only means to even interface with reality - the occasional trip to the shop is a parody of real life, this isn’t life, this is arrested development. And it’s unjust. And it’s affecting everyone in some way or another, some in multiple ways. Some people just straight up woke up dead this morning and I’m willing to bet that a large majority of those deaths were preventable. I really don’t know how I’m expected to engage with the world when the natural fabric of ‘our world’ is so anti-human. I spent 7 days in bed Ill and felt completely unproductive, this is the mob mentality of education, of a global system predicated on use value - I can’t even make art the right way, or design. The only thing I feel truly capable to achieve right now is to write. Its a fiction don’t you get it, the rest of the world looks surreal, ghostly and shimmering with collapse, a spectre is haunting a spectre is haunting a spectre. Before I couldn’t get studio access, and you know... work... I had an idea to produce triptychs. I had been in communication with a friend and peer from the painting course and we were making as if the making was its own independent voice, talking back and forth through print and paint exchanges. Maybe that idea for a triptych still remains in this text, but I doesn’t really matter, the text has lost a sense of materiality, daesin, presence. And that was just one of many of the projects I was involved with, you know I set up a temporary Riso studio from within our department, Risome Press, it made sense - that click you get when you’re doing something and you’re simultaneously having fun and within an iota of being good at it, capable. I don’t get that with writing - it’s really a struggle, my eyes start to go and I get this reverberation just resonating through my head, I can feel it, like a little planet orbit my head and putting the brakes right on. But the next day, I get started back on it, I spend the prior night, as all nights, thinking - you have to let things ruminate for a while before you can really conceptualise what it is you’re trying to say - I haven’t got there yet, and the antivirus thing was ironic, scientists haven’t come up with a vaccine so why the fuck would you expect anything from me. And an antivirus isn’t 100% full proof either, the human race will be blindsided by one thing or another and right now I’m really hoping that we’re not blindsiding ourselves. A jolly optimism never hurts until you’re lying on your floor with your ears ringing and your head whirling, blaring out Joy Division’s ‘Isolation’, halted by intrusive thoughts. I know this isn’t supposed to sound like a catalogue cliché of some angst teen drama, but the reality is almost inevitably far sadder. Quite possibly the worst form of psychotherapy is telemetry media, constantly checking in to read/write user profiles, altering itself to fit a model > insert market research profile. Success seems to be contingent on right place right time magical thinking model, like a form of chaos magic that you’ve been practicing throughout your formative years, and it’s hard to do anything when you’re stuck still in the middle of a global pandemic, during a surge of fascism and economic instability. And here you are sat at the other end of this schtick, having to assess and mark students - evaluate them for the slow cancellation of the future. Maybe the antivirus progam is absurdism at it’s simplest - if it doesn’t make sense then go, keep going, there are always small things to do - even when you’re in that feedback loop of schizophrenic design, the schizoaesthetic. Because, while it looks like a loop, it’s conditional, there is an out you just have to find it (I promise it's there). And that could mean stepping back, not looking for it for years and it coming to you. Or charting every piece of meaning you stumble upon. It’s a terrifying game of chicken between getting out of the loop and dying (both fascilitate some kind of escape in a very dark morbid way). I will offer this last shred of my optimism here... Humankind can not bear much reality, but when we do, it inspires hope - revolution. The winds of change are a blowing, and you dont have to feel the wind on your face to know that.

THIS BLOG IS THREE YEARS OLD TODAY HOLY SHIT (edit: i started this post months ago and forgot about it, this blog was 3 years old on Sept. 7 pffffff-)
Anyway, its been a long time since i last did this, here are a bunch of OCs of mine and, below the read more, is some context for each of them. Probably gonna get long and rambly ‘cause i love them all. You dont have to read about them but please read about them i love them.
Guess the first thing to know is that these aren’t my only OCs. These are kinda the ones that I’ve had around the longest and kept coming back to. Plus, I have some for specific projects that I don’t really elaborate on cuz they exist in a game/writing/something self contained and to say anything would be to say too much, I guess?
Yeah. Overall, I guess these guys are either so developed or underdeveloped that it wouldn’t be spoiling for me to say things about their personalities/relationships! And some of the stories have changed so drastically over the years, I don’t even know what kinda canon will be canon when i get around to making it.
SO they’re categorized by their different worlds/purposes. ALSO if you want to see more pictures of a particular OC, I made their name clickable and it will bring up their tag (some.... won’t have a lot of drawings tho criesss).
CANDY HERO has been my dream comic project since I was 14 oh man. It’s a superhero story, about homeless kids that have to save the world. The reason for saving the world has changed a lot, from alien invasion to robot uprising to super virus subtly ruining everything. But the plan has always been like a grungy futuristic city setting and long term ideas where each chapter would be a self contained episode.
Soda is one of the main characters and the only person that has superpowers. However, his super powers are candy-based and wicked unstable. He could intend to create crystal rock candy to make a barrier of some kind but accidentally whip up a cotton candy tornado. His superhero origin story has changed a lot, but I usually stick to the idea that he swallowed some nuclear experimental bubblegum and it unexpectedly manifested inside him in a way that gave him these capabilities.
Why would he eat questionable chewing gum?? Well, he’s pretty young when he does so most likely he didn’t realize gum wasn’t for eating at that point. He’s also homeless and isn’t picky about what he eats. He probably ends up on the street when he’s around 7 or 8 and his story takes place when he’s 14 or 15. So, somewhere between there is when he acquires his powers.
His personality is basically relentless positivity and optimism. Always looks on the bright side and can be counted on as a morale booster. Super loyal and supportive of his friends. Believes in ideals and hopes to make the world a better place, believes the world can be changed for the better. It’s very difficult to upset him. However, his outlook often jars when he has to deal with an emotionally sensitive situation. His general response is “everything will be okay and I believe in you and support you” and, for a lot of people, it doesn’t work like that and it just makes them more upset, especially living among the homeless. Even though he can relate to suffering, his way of dealing things has always been to repress or move on since it couldn’t be helped and that’s usually what he subconsciously advocates.Depending on the person, it can be reassuring or it can feel like a rehearsed script.
All in all, he has a lot of issues he’s left unresolved and ignores in favour of smiling and focusing on the positive and he doesn’t really understand why people will fixate on the negative. So he’s not really good at handling any kinda negative emotions. ALSO his trusting nature makes him a victim in gullibility too. Even with someone that’s been a complete dick to him twenty times over, he’ll always give the benefit of a doubt and allow them second, third, fourth chances.
SOME EXTRA RANDOM FACTS ABOUT SODA - His real name is Felix but he’s only ever gone by Soda. Rafter was the one that gave him the nickname cuz he’s bubbly and too sweet. - When he’s actually sad and can’t force himself to be happy, he isolates himself. - He’s always wanted to be a super hero! His earliest memory is running around with goggles on and a blanket tied around his shoulders like a cape, playing pretend. - He has an evil doppelganger named Seltzer; they look exactly alike, except Seltzer’s eyes are orange instead of blue. - He smells like a carnival’s trash can.
Rafter is Soda’s best friend. Both of them have been on the street for a similar amount of time, but Rafter’s circumstances for getting there are a lot more harsh. Soda ends up there almost by choice, but Rafter is forced onto the streets. He’s really mature as a result and pretty cautious. Generally, he prefers to be a lone wolf but Soda persisted in helping him cuz they were both kids and logically he understood that it was safer to have someone around. Most of the time, he appreciates Soda for his overabundant friendliness but it also makes him super nervous because jeezuz Soda, don’t talk to that shady dude behind the dumpster what if he harvests your kidneys or something plz exercise some self preservation.
Rafter is relatively quiet, thoughtful, and skeptical. He doesn’t trust people very easily and he tends to keep his circle of friends small. But when he does trust someone, he’s very dependable. Even though he doesn’t have superpowers, he’s got a keen eye for details and analysis. If he were older, he’d probably be a detective. More defensive than offensive, and a strategist.
He ends up in contention with Soda sometimes, because of Soda’s instinct to jump into things indiscriminately (where Rafter likes to plan and evaluate) and also because of his inability to deal with emotions. Rafter is pretty stable emotionally, but when he does feel upset he goes to Noyal or TOI for support rather than Soda. Rafter needs to work through his feelings with someone else and understand why he reacts the way he did in order to feel better.
Overall, Rafter is very level headed. He thinks realistically and practically. But his caution borders on paranoia sometimes and prevents him from making many meaningful connections for fear of being hurt. And, when in contrast with Soda’s positive outlooks, he worries that he comes off as less realistic and more negative and jaded by comparison. It’s a thought that eats away at him sometimes.
SOME EXTRA RANDOM FACTS ABOUT RAFTER - He plays piano and its the best way for him to relax. - Rafter isn’t his real name but no one knows it. - His dream career is to be a psychologist and help kids like him when he gets older, in order to help them avoid being homeless. - Dogs make him nervous. Especially big dogs.  - Even though he lives on the street, he’s very careful to stay as clean and hygienic as he can. Can’t stand feeling grimy or dirty.
TOI is an illegal android. She was a young boy as a human who was dying and her father was a scientist that transferred her consciousness to a robot. There is a law that states that any person under the age of consent cannot have their consciousness transferred because androids are not subject to the same laws as humans. It is completely legal for an adult to choose to become an android but there are really fucked up, blurred moral lines with the production of androids. Even if they have a living consciousness and not an AI installed, the only real law they’re required to follow is to be registered and have an owner.
Short of that, anything that happens to androids is damage against the owner, not the android. Because android parts are replaceable and, even if a consciousness is human or a highly developed AI, they are subject to selective memory wipes and can be transferred to other vessels. So androids are kind of resented by some people, able to forget their traumas with the push of a button and recover from damage that would be irreparable for something organic. There have been a lot of attempts at acquiring self ownership and more protection for robots in general, but overall it comes down to “if you can choose to forget, why are you remembering.” It’s a system that kind of works, but only for robots that have owners and owners who care about their well being (which logically they should, because an android costs about as much as a new car would and, if they are spending that much and the consciousness is someone they know, the assumption is that it’s an act of love).
ANYWAYS I could ramble about the messed up robot-human relations of this world all day, but essentially TOI is illegal for many reasons. For one, she was about nine when her consciousness was extracted. Though her mind does continue to age, it’s still morally grey because the public assumption is that all robots are considered consenting adults, even when they have a body that appears younger. It’s a means of avoiding fucked up shit that developers know would happen anyways by at least making it fucked up shit that only happens to adults??? If that makes sense??? im avoiding specific words, cuz its too dark for how PG i want the story to be and its not something i would really explore in canon, its just something i think about when considering TOI’s choices.
She’s also very illegal because, when she turned 15 her father died and her father was her ‘technical’ owner. She wasn’t registered but she had some protection with him around as his ‘scientific property’ but with him gone, no one faces any consequences for damaging her. It leaves her in a very vulnerable position should anyone find out she’s an android and unregistered. And she can’t advocate for robot rights because without an owner, she can just get wiped and no one could do anything about it.
Personality wise, TOI is very snarky. She likes to sass and tease and outsmart people. In canon, she’s about 32 years old, so she also takes a sadistic pleasure in making adults think they’ve been outwitted by a child. She is highly intelligent but operates under the radar because of her situation, usually relying on her human connections (Noyal) in order to save money or sign important documents.
In Candy Hero, she currently isn’t planned to appear for a handful of chapters. Soda and Rafter have a few adventures themselves, then they meet her when she is visiting Noyal. She trusts them as Noyal’s friends and sticks around, their antics amusing her. Plus, since they all look around the same age, TOI feels more secure moving around in public with them.
SOME EXTRA RANDOM FACTS ABOUT TOI - TOI doesn’t need to eat or sleep as a robot, but she does need to recharge every other week depending on her exertion, and she needs regular maintenance. - She was a trans girl even before her consciousness was put into her robot body but socially closeted, except to her father and Noyal. - She loves cats and her favourite clothing items are cat themed. - Whenever she’s able to, she attends art galleries and musical events. - SHES GONE THROUGH THE MOST DESIGN CHANGES like, she used to be a super sexualized animu lady with big boobs and no pants (i want to fight 15 yr old me when i think about it honestly) then she was skinny dude with a gas mask and hood, then lost the mask but became purely a program, then a virus trapped inside a phone Soda had, and now she’s where she is and I’m happiest with her newest design
Noyal is a quiet guy that lives on a boat. He doesn’t say much but he’s empathetic toward Soda and Rafter as street kids. I haven’t really thought about how they meet but my guess is that Soda and Rafter are jumping around different places for food and shelter during the winter and Noyal notices them since he jumps around to the different places for his work. He doesn’t approach them though, it’s Soda that approaches him offering to help him with something (much to Rafter’s horror cuz holy shit Noyal is scary looking) and they all eventually begin to talk. Well, Noyal mostly listens but he talks more with them than he does almost anyone else (TOI being the exception).
Eventually, he offers them a place to stay for the worst nights. They can’t stay with him all the time cuz his boat’s pretty cramped as it is and Noyal likes his solitude. He can’t handle the idea of being a father figure to Soda and Rafter so he makes sure they understand that he views them as friends, not as children he needs to be responsible for. Even though Rafter was nervous about him at first, it turns out that he and Noyal have very compatible personalities and the equal ground he offers in defining that “I’m not an authority over you just because I’ve lived longer” ironically makes Rafter really look up to and respect him.
I’ve not really thought out Noyal’s history to the same extent I’ve thought out TOI’s. He’s always been quiet, somewhat mysterious, but willing to help a friend in need. I imagine he’s been helped through a lot of things when he was young and that’s what makes him willing to extend altruism and sanctuary when he encounters someone that needs help. However, unlike Soda, he doesn’t go out of his way or beyond what he’s comfortable with. If he wants to help and is capable of doing so, he will.
SOME EXTRA RANDOM FACTS ABOUT NOYAL - He owns a dog; an elderly and blind Schnauzer affectionately called Old Russ, who sleeps on his bed with him. - I’ve always imagined him with a Newfoundlander accent. - He’s actually a year younger than TOI and she’ll never let him forget it. - He has a twin sister that he doesn’t like to talk about; she sends him a care package every few months. - He works at a million different jobs. One of the running gags I’ve established in my writing is that he’s just everywhere; Soda and Rafter go to a circus, he’s running the ticket booth; they go to a theatre, he’s a janitor; they head to the mall, he’s working security. HE IS A BUSY MAN. - Covered in scars not because he gets into fights but because he loves animals, regularly works at places with big animals, and would willingly get mangled by a bear if it meant he was able to help it.
PURE FLUFF isn’t the name of anything but I just have no other designation for these two OCs (I used to call their story Day by Day but I’ve abandoned that name). I made them with the intent of doing a really fluffy gay webcomic and I still want to! But it probably won’t be a linear storyline like i originally intended, more like random snippets of their time together. I also specifically wanted to focus not on falling in love, but staying in love. Like, usually the plot and conflict of romance ends with people becoming a couple. Yet, there are so many fun and ridiculous issues that pop up while being a couple??? LIKE COME ON??
Also, it’s a super pure and wholesome story overall so the issues aren’t anything really terrible (at least, between Evan and Love). Usually its like “i dont care how in the zone you are, you havent slept in over 72 hours and im forcing you to sleep” and “dude i know you wouldn’t cheat on me but your hot tutor is making me wicked jealous and possessive and i need attention plz” and “oh nooooo looks like they accidentally put pineapple on both sides of the pizza, guess you’re gonna have to eat pineapple too.” Y’know. Small issues.
Evan is the epitome of lethargy. He’s tired 24/7 and monotone in his speech patterns. Emotions are difficult for him. He experiences them but numbly and has trouble dealing with other’s displays of emotions, particularly in the extreme. He doesn’t really understand people with strong passions or hatreds but he tries to be supportive in his own way. And he really does try but when people don’t know him, they assume his muted reactions are out of disinterest. He can’t force himself to react the way people want so he struggles in a lot of social situations. A lot of the time, he ends up overwhelmed and exhausted if he spends too much time with a crowd.
He doesn’t have the best relationship with his parents and moved out the moment he turned 18 but he has younger siblings that love and adore him so he tries to keep in touch with them at least. Evan is in post secondary and is majoring in computer science and programming. Again, not exactly because it’s his passion but he understands it and it’s an independent activity that he can work on. He also is minoring in ancient history because he enjoys the mythology and guesswork of studying ancient civilizations.
SOME EXTRA RANDOM FACTS ABOUT EVAN - He is probably trans. Honestly, for a lot of my characters, I tend to keep things flexible unless it’s important to their story or I’m being self indulgent so most of them are like ‘maby they are maby they aren’t it doesnt matter’ if i dont say anything. I mention it for Evan cuz its been something I’ve considered as the reason his relationships with his parents being tense. - He is about 23-24, which is two years older than Love. They met in high school because Evan had to take a lower level art class to complete his diploma. Often, people think he is younger than Love because of his baby face and being so much shorter. The assumption tends to annoy him. - Evan is colourblind! Protanopia, or red-green colourblindness.  - He has a history of self harm that only Love knows about and he’s since found healthier coping mechanisms. - His favourite thing is spending a lazy afternoon at home, reading a book while Love draws beside him
Love is an artist and an asshole. He likes to tease and press buttons, but generally doesn’t overstep boundaries (and feels terrible when he accidentally does). He is a positive person, looks on the bright side but he has a lot of feelings and not all of them are happy. He’s sensitive, gets disheartened at the slightest off tone. Conversely, he’s extremely easy to please too, the slightest praise sending him buzzing. His mood jumps around a lot depending on where he is, but Evan tends to keep him balanced because he understands and appreciates Evan’s tranquillity.
As an artist, Love focuses on painting and sketching. He loves to use a lot of colour and tends to lean toward impressionism and abstraction in his work. He likes deep thinking but he tends to lean toward making work that’s pretty and aesthetically pleasing to look at (which he gets shit for as an art student). However, a lot of the worst of his habits are associated with painting. He’ll go for days without sleep and eating if he’s in a good painting mood, usually much to Evan’s concern. In high school before dating Evan, he experimented with some hallucinogenics for the sake of artistic venture. He also used to smoke somewhat heavily. Evan helped him ease away from those habits, just as he helped Evan ease away from his.
Also, Love is absolutely enamoured with Evan. Evan loves him back of course, he wouldn’t be with him if he didn’t feel anything, but Love is way more deeply attached. He hovers and will do his best to accommodate Evan, he worries about Evan and tends to talk about him as a common subject in conversation, and he’s happiest when spending his time with Evan. Evan is a lot more independent in the sense that he doesn’t fixate on Love like Love does him, but Love is still the most important person in his life. Love doesn’t really try to tone down his affection either, he’d probably yell in a public space “GOD MY BOYFRIEND IS WONDERFUL??? IM SO LUCKY???” and get kicked out. But it’d so be worth it. He loves making Evan embarrassed.
SOME EXTRA RANDOM FACTS ABOUT LOVE - His name, Love Jaakola, is pronounced Low-vay Yak-oh-law. His father was Swedish and his mother is Chinese (she’s the only one he’s still in contact with). He is an only child. - His hair is naturally dark brown but he regularly dyes it blonde. The ‘streak’ in his hair is actually dried acrylic paint from pushing his hair out his face, the only way he’s able to get rid of it is to cut it off (but it comes back cuz he’s in the habit of running his paint coated hand through his hair at this point). - Love is Evan’s first date person, but Love has dated about 4 people before Evan. Two were girls, one was a boy, and one was nonbinary. However, most of those relationships only lasted a few months, he has been with Evan for about 4-5 years (they’ve known each other about 6-7 yrs). - Ironically, he’s a bit of a technophobe. Evan keeps telling him he should post his artwork online or that he should network with people more to expand his art career, but Love’s like ‘maby.... one day... not today.......’ - His favourite thing is to draw/paint on Evan’s skin. Nothing really planned or meant to impress, just lazing around in their underwear and doodling thoughtlessly.
BAD SEEDS oh god. this is... my sin comic. Sort of. Last year around this time, I was fucking ITCHING to make a webcomic. It’s been something I’ve wanted to do for a long time and like, in the time frame of Aug-Nov, my urge to make gore art goes through the roof (like, most people dont get how gross i am cuz i only draw it around this time, i tend to quietly absorb other’s gore during the rest of the year). So the plans for this comic came around. Psychological horror, gore, plants and flowers, bones, I threw a lot of self indulgent shit into this comic.
Bad Seeds is about two terrible high school kids that cause one another to do awful things by encouraging each other’s violent impulses (i say “kids”, they’re both 17 and would experience their 18th birthdays in canon, i literally just wanted a high school setting cuz bullies weeeeps). I did a lot of sketched out comics in my small travel sketchbook of really climactic, messed up scenes, then I tried to do an actual story line so I could do a comic. I made the first 14 ish pages and they’re still floating around but.... wow i hate the beginning. And need to rewrite it. Cuz I still like a lot of the scenes I made for the middle of the story and the messed up dynamics please me but, unfortunately, the main characters need to meet somehow.
Daniel is a nervous, paranoid boy. He’s very jumpy and always feels like he’s going to be yelled at for doing something wrong. He feels like an outcast and kind of makes himself out to be one by thinking that way. Doesn’t go out of his way to make friends, isn’t interested by sports or clubs, and his grades in school are average or below average. However, people that do know him would say he was polite, quiet, and accommodating. Even though he looks awkward, they’d insist he was just shy and warms up to you.
In reality, he behaves that way because he’s almost been conditioned and guilted into being selfless by his dad (his only family). He takes up extra shifts at work if someone asks him, he’ll lend someone he doesn’t know money if they ask, and he will help with cleaning/organizing after school if he’s asked. He doesn’t volunteer and generally doesn’t want to do a lot of things he agrees to but he just can’t say no unless it clashes with other things he’s agreed to do (usually, his job).
Other than that though, a lot of his internalized guilt stems from his fascination with the morbid and a fear of people finding out. In my old draft of Bad Seeds, he became fascinated after being exposed to guro on the internet, but I want the time setting to be late 90s-early 2000s, so I’m compiling a lot of texts and paintings that would feed that interest and be more time appropriate. I’m also trying to figure out if that would make him more interested in art history and specific classical literature but honestly, I don’t think it would; he’d probably fixate only on the most gruesome things and skim over all else haaah.
SOME EXTRA RANDOM FACTS ABOUT DANIEL - He is a masochist. Whenever he gets injured, it tends to take three times as long to heal as it should because he picks and scratches and makes things worse. He also self harms on his upper arms for this reason, to watch it bleed and heal (though, I’m certain a warped idea of atonement for his guilt also plays into the action). - Before meeting Poet, he’d been watching him from a far for two years. Not exactly stalking, he doesn’t go out of his way, but they’re in the same small town school; he stares at him from across the cafeteria at lunch and glances at him when they have classes together and listens extra hard when he hears people talk about Poet.  - He works at a small cafe that doesn’t get a lot of traffic. - He sleepwalks and has really vivid dreams. Sometimes he self-induces insomnia to avoid them but that tends to have bad side effects. - He really enjoys his hair being played with/petted/pulled.
Poet is seemingly perfect. He’s one of the top students, with exceptional grades in all of his classes. He’s the president of the student council and he’s well liked by most of the student body because he’s humble and, though hard working and busy, he tries to treat everyone kindly and make good impressions. The only thing he could be considered average in is sports, but he stays active by gardening and hiking. He takes to positions of leadership well, he’s good at improvising, and speaks eloquently. All of his hard work is contributing to his career goal of becoming a medical doctor or surgeon.
However, he has the same morbid fascinations as Daniel. Though, while Daniel is exposed to creative sources like fiction and paintings depicting violence or gore, Poet is more grounded in reality. He uses medical textbooks and pays a lot of attention to real life surgery photos. There was a point where, with the mental excuse that he would need to be comfortable with the grotesque, that he would look for dead things in order to do mock autopsies. He’s killed animals before but always with his version of a justification; to end something’s suffering or in self defence. He rarely kills animals because of this need for a proper explanation. In the old draft of Bad Seeds, his and Daniel’s meeting is him trying to explain that he killed a wild dog that had backed him into an alley and struggling to come up with a reason for why Daniel found him elbow deep in its guts.
HE’S SUCH  A BAD DUDE HONESTLY i hate him. Especially with Daniel, after they acknowledge one another’s fucked up impulses, Poet becomes really attached to Daniel but in a messed up abusive and jealous way. He begins to manipulate and gaslight Daniel, whose already isolated, to become even more isolated and only trust Poet and lets himself get talked into a lot by Poet. Well, they talk each other into things. Poet, at the beginning of their relationship, is still extremely preoccupied with appearances and knows what they’re doing is wrong as tempting as it is to have a willing participant and gives Daniel a lot of chances to say no to things. But the more Daniel says yes, the more of a power trip Poet goes on and god, they just make each other so much worse over time and it’s awful and unhealthy and i hate that I’m absolutely into this kinda psychological shit (ONLY FICTIONALLY THO i hate that i need to specify that; if this happened in real life, id fucking call the cops in a heartbeat).
But yea, if he and Daniel never met, they’d both be way better off in the long run honestly haha.
SOME EXTRA RANDOM FACTS ABOUT POET - Probably goes without saying, but he is a sadist. Like, he likes to think he is clinically scientific about everything he does, but when he gets the chance to act out fantasies with Daniel, he starts paying a lot of attention to expression and reaction when he does things. - I mentioned he enjoys gardening but he really likes gardening! He does all the gardening and maintenance of his parent’s home during the warm months, and keeps a lot of plants inside too. - I usually draw him with black hair, but at some point he dies his hair silver/white.  - He has a fluffy medium sized dog named Styx, not sure about the breed. Probably a mutt but lots of collie. - Poet existed before Bad Seeds, as a character in Love and Evan’s story! He was still kind of awful but more harmless. He wound up having a crush on Evan while tutoring him in English, but Evan wasn’t interested and also is dating Love. Love had a small crush on Poet cuz he’s lowkey poly and super into intellect/glasses/charisma, which he talked over with Evan. Evan accepts it as part of him but personally wouldn’t be comfortable dating him if he were dating others, so Love compromises because hot damn he loves Evan. ANYWAYS Poet is still awful because, even after Evan says no, he pines and obsesses and tries to monopolize his time as a “””friend”””” (thankfully tho, Evan is not susceptible to his bullshit - which sadly makes Poet like him that much more criesssss)
Ray is a bit of an enigma. He’s technically in his senior year with both Daniel and Poet, but he’s actually two years older and is only back at the school to complete his high school diploma. But no one really remembers him as attending their school? Despite this though, he settles into the school atmosphere well. Even though he’s 19, he’s generally mistaken for younger. He has classes he does well in and classes he skips, but his passion is for music. He’s a skilled, adaptable guitarist who gets called into a few bars and clubs when a band is short and was practically adopted by the school band the moment they found out his skill level. Thing is, he’s also very lazy and wants to avoid things that feel like work, usually causing them to send the drummer to kidnap him in order to get him to attend practice.
He gives off an air of being laid back and aloof, but he’s rather observant. Ray is probably the closest thing to a friend that Daniel has, because Ray noticed he was a bit of a black sheep and decided to keep him company. At first, out of concern that he was being bullied, but after some time it was a little more personal because he realized that Daniel had a crush on another boy (since this story is set in a small town during late 90s early 2000s, repression and institutionalized homophobia are a concern but not really the focus). Personal because he is actually gay and trans and he becomes a little protective over Daniel, having figured this out. Though, his protectiveness doesn’t stop him from teasing Daniel (about having a crush, not about being gay of course).
Ray is also a little eccentric. He refuses to sit in seats properly, he wanders around the streets at like 3am and during rainstorms, and always packs a lunch but never eats it, usually giving it away to Daniel or some first year. He comes off pretty confident and he’s decent at improvising but overall he has no shame and no idea what he’s doing.
SOME EXTRA RANDOM FACTS ABOUT RAY - He has an ex who I haven’t developed but he’s also important, he’s a coworker of Daniel’s. Ray’s ex is actually a decent and understanding dude, but Ray broke up with him because he wanted to get rid of things that reminded him about being “Rachel” (his deadname). - He shares a basement apartment with like, five other lgbt people, but he doesn’t spend much time there and has a tendency to fall asleep where ever. - He’s an orphan. Dad died when he was young, and his mom was a police officer who died in the line of duty during the time he had disappeared. He has an older sister who’s moved a fair distance away. - Daniel thinks of him as a weird mom. Ray considers himself something of a big brother, since he can be a bit of an asshole. - Ray is driven by spite. His hair at the beginning of Bad Seeds is the fluffy mullet he has, influenced by other guitarists cuz he’s a nerd, but when he meets his ex again and his ex tells him his hair looks cute, he gets an undercut immediately after.
STAINED is a project I used to be passionate about but honestly, it’s kind of abandoned. It had something to do with tattoos and corrupt hierarchical systems and someone unknowingly supporting the status quo before learning how fucked up and inhumane it is and trying to change the way the world works. I think I was reading a lot of dystopian things that influenced my ideas. Some of the characters from this project will probably be redesigned and put somewhere else but this project itself is kinda dead to me.
ALSO, ITS GONNA BE JARRING HOW SHORT THINGS GET FROM HERE ON like, the rest of these characters are not as developed/ I don’t care about them enough anymore to try to adapt their personalities elsewhere criessss
Marz was what I considered one of the most complex characters at one point. Bare bones, he goes from being sheltered but curious to really vindictive and dark following his best friend/lover being martyred. At the moment though, he’s very much a blank slate and, even though he was the main character, a lot of the initiative and plot was driven by his lover. I... literally have very little to say about Marz anymore IM SORRY MARZ, I LOVED YOU ONCE MABY ILL LOVE YOU AGAIN.
Stone is a happy dude. He was in the same universe as Marz, working on the outskirts of the city palace town, dealing black market potions and magic in a shop he inherited from Iris (who is dead in that universe - probably another reason i don’t like Marz’s story anymore). In his current canon, he still works at a shop dealing in occult things, but alongside Iris. Prior to their meeting, Stone was a very proper, uptight man, overly concerned with etiquette and very polite. However, he was also really tired of denying what he enjoys (he is bisexual and more feminine than his posh family find acceptable). One day, he decides to explore the grimier parts of the city and ends up cornered in an alley cuz pretty boy doesn’t think ahead that walking around looking clean and expensive in a sketchy part of town will get him into trouble.
Thankfully though, he’s saved by Iris and, to repay her, he works at her shop. Stone is a quick learner and finds his niche in the dark arts that Iris teaches him. He’s happiest when he can sneak over and help and, eventually, stops going home. He and Iris are in a relationship but they’re not exactly monogamous; Iris loves him but also knows that he’s bi and has been sheltered his entire life. She wants him to be able to explore his interests and not feel restricted by his attachment to her, especially since she’s had so much more time to love and be loved. So essentially, an open relationship.
Stone is laboured with a lot of learned prejudice and a concept of tradition that Iris helps him identify, understand, and either overcome or work on in the means of becoming less toxic. He finds Iris fascinating and loves to learn from her, both about the occult and about himself (because most of the time, he feels like she knows him more than he does himself).
EXTRA RANDOM FACTS ABOUT STONE - After a few years of working with and knowing Iris, Stone accidentally blinds himself trying to make a difficult potion. This is the version of him I draw the most. Before the accident, his eye colour was hazel. - Eventually, he and Iris get married. - Following the accident, he’s immortal. Nowadays, I focus on him during his days with Iris, but in the past I focused on his life after her death as he becomes slightly deranged. She grows quite old and dies of natural causes and he tends to pretend that she didn’t, keeping her skeleton around and lovingly talking about his wife with his customers.
Iris is a very ambitious woman. She doesn’t have much of a history at this moment, but she runs her own business, fends for herself, and has developed some very powerful connections. People that know about her but don’t know her personally tend to call her a witch and a sorceress and sometimes she plays it up to scare kids away from the dangerous area that she’s located. She’s intelligent and very down to earth, growing an indoor garden with plenty of plants that have magical properties.
She can be brash and spontaneous sometimes though. She’s had some close calls with death by picking the wrong fights and mixing the wrong ingredients while experimenting. She mellows out a bit when she has Stone to focus on, but she can disappear for weeks on end with only a last minute notice for him to take care of the shop while she runs her errand. There are a couple of times that she lets him tag along but he’s really not in his element with fast action and near death stunts so he stops asking and just wishes for her safety.
MISC is OCs that I’ve always had but have never really settled into their own world. I honestly have tons like this oh man. But these three are ones that show up a lot.
Cinnamon and Chowder are two gay gals I started drawing way back. They’re both alien pop stars who came to earth and no one knows they’re actually aliens. Cinnamon is much shyer than Chowder, self conscious of her height and general... everything, but Chowder is super supportive and smitten and protective. Cinnamon is an alien from a planet where her entire species “identifies” as male; its a toxic, hyper masculine planet and, when she met Chowder, her entire world kind of expanded and she decided to escape with her somewhere that they wouldn’t be found. They found earth and made their place in the fashion and music industry.
I drew a comic for class once, where Cinnamon tells Chowder that she feels ugly, but like, she knows she doesn’t look ugly, but she feels the anxiety like an itch and can’t get over it. And Chowder’s like “Oh! Like a Kiwi right? See, they’re all fuzzy and brown and probably feel ugly? But look at how nice and bright and lovely they are inside!” and then they eat a kiwi together PFFF yea that’s the extent of how much development I’ve put into them.
Liko is my baby. He is a chinchilla hybrid human and was created purely for self indulgent things. His personality for the most part is mischievous and absolutely hates clothing. For how much I draw him, he is embarrassingly underdeveloped as a character. I began to think of him as a splicing experiment that escapes from a lab somewhere but not super deeply... Honestly, his purpose is art trades, requests, and commissions. He’s the only oc I usually ask for art of because I like his design haaah
AND YEA THOSE ARE MY BELOVED OCS i honestly love you if you read through all this or even a little, please talk to me about your own ocs !!! I’m more than happy to do OC art trades and bounce world talks anytime !!

The Future You That You Least Suspect
The other night my teenage boys asked me what was on my mind (likely looking for material to make fun of me. Just kidding, they’re thoughtful kids).
Instead of trying to “kid proof” my thoughts or rush the conversation, I wrote them this letter. First, to explain that I’m consumed by how we think about and where we look for answers to the biggest questions of our time (listed below), and second, to propose an alternative way of finding answers (hint: I found inspiration in an amoeba).
How are we going to address climate change before it creates global chaos?
What jobs will be available for my kids when they finish school? What should they study?
Over the next few decades, how will we re-train ourselves fast enough — again and again — to remain employed and useful as technology becomes more capable?
Can the human race cooperate well enough to solve our biggest problems or will the future simply overwhelm us?
Most importantly, where do we look to find answers to these questions?
Hopefully I didn’t ruin the possibility that my kids will ever again ask me what’s on my mind 🙂
##
Boys,
There is an old joke where a man is looking for his keys under a street light. Another person walks by and inquires, “Sir, are you certain you lost your keys here?”
“No” the man replies, “I lost them across the street.”
Confused, the stranger says, “Then why are you looking here?”
The man responded, “The light is much brighter here!”

This comic is as humorous as it is true. All too often, we each do this when we’re trying to solve something. It’s where our brains naturally take us first.
Our imaginations are constrained to the familiar (under the light), so we have a hard time finding answers to difficult questions and problems because the answers often lie in the unknown (or in the comic above, the darkness). Staying in the light is natural, easy, and intuitive, but this limits our discovery potential.
I. How to look in the dark?
History can give us some hints about how others found interesting things in the dark. For example, we discovered that:
the sun is the center of our planetary swarm
the earth is round
the physical world is a bunch of tiny, uncertain pieces governed by quantum physics
Before these became accepted truths, they were very difficult to imagine. This is part because they are non-obvious and also counter-intuitive to our everyday experience.
It’s also because we can’t know what is not known, which means we’re blind to what is yet to be discovered. Don’t believe me? Try to think of something you don’t already know. It’s impossible! That is, until you know it, and then it’s obvious.
Going back to the 5th question, how and where can we look today to find new unknowns (the dark) that help us solve our biggest problems? Where are today’s insights that are equivalent to the sun is the center of our planetary swarm?
I think the most exciting and consequential place to explore is not looking outside ourselves, but looking inside; in our own minds. This is where I see the most fruitful answers to the questions about your future and mine.
What if the next reality busting revolution happened to our very reality and consciousness? And if that happened, could the future of being human be entirely unrecognizable from our vantage point today? I hope so, because the answers to our challenges don’t appear under the lights we have turned on so far.
You’re probably thinking, c’mon Dad, this is crazy talk.
Well, it’s happened before.
II. Thanks Homo Erectus, We’ll Take it From Here
Our ancestor Homo erectus lived two million years ago and wasn’t equipped with our kinds of languages, abstractions, or technology. Homo erectus was possibly an inflexible learner as evidenced by the fact that they made the same axe for over 1 million years.
Imagine trying to explain to Homo erectus a complex phenomena of our modern day society, such as the stock market. You’d have to explain capitalism, economics, math, money, computers, and corporations — after extensive language training and the inevitable discussion of new axe design possibilities (of course, trying not to offend).
The supporting technological, cultural, and legal layers that enable the stock market to exist are the engines and evidence of our prosperity. It’s taken us thousands of years to develop this collective intellectual complexity. The point is, our brains are incredibly capable of evolving and adapting to new and more complicated things.
That our cognition evolved from Homo erectus demonstrates that we have radically evolved before.
III. Amoeba, You’re So Smart!
Tumblr media
A few months ago, Japanese researchers demonstrated that an amoeba, a single-celled organism, was able to find near optimal solutions to the following question:
Given a list of cities and the distances between each pair of cities, what is the shortest possible route a salesperson could take that visits each city only once and returns to the origin city? (image credit)
This is known as the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP), and classified as an NP-hard problem because the time needed to solve it grows exponentially as the number of cities increases.
Humans can come up with near optimal solutions using various heuristics and computers can execute algorithms to solve the problem using their processing power.
However, what’s unique is that Masashi Aono and his team demonstrated that the amoeba’s solution to the TSP is completely different than the way humans or computers have traditionally solved it.
That’s right, this amoeba is flexing on us.
(Note: it’s worth reading about the clever way they set up the experiment to allow the amoeba to solve the problem.)
This got me thinking: when we’re confronted with a problem, we use the tools at our disposal. For example, we can think, do math, or program a computer to solve it.
Tumblr media
Professor Aono found a different tool for problem solving: a single-celled organism.
I know what you’re thinking, can the amoeba do my homework or take tests for me? It’s a good question!
Also, kudos to Aono and his team for searching in the dark — this experiment is non-obvious.
IV. Why Am I Telling You About Amoebas?
I strongly believe that we need a major cognitive revolution if we are to solve the global challenges we face. Our species evolved before and we can do it again, but we can’t wait a million years; we must accelerate this evolution.
What I’m saying is very hard to understand and imagine, because it’s in the dark. But bare with me.
The amoeba gives me hope because it didn’t evolve to solve the TSP. We augmented it with technology to accomplish something pretty amazing. Similarly, we haven’t evolved to deal with cooperating on a global scale, battle an invisible gas that warms our planet or retraining our brains every few years as AI takes over more of our work. How can we augment our own minds to allow us to take on these challenges?
Imagine a scenario where you are dressed head-to-toe in haptics (think Ready Player One) that allow you to experience and understand things by feeling changes in vibrations, temperature, and pressure.
Also imagine that you have a brain interface capable of both reading out neural activity and “writing” to your brain — meaning that certain communications can be sent directly into to your brain — the kind of stuff I’m building at Kernel.
Let’s call this a mind/body/machine interface (MBMI). It would basically wire you up to be like the amoeba in the experiment.
Now, what if you were given certain problems, such as the TSP, that your conscious and subconscious mind started working to solve? Imagine that instead of “thinking” about the problem, you just let your brain figure things out on it’s own — like riding a bike.
Would you come up with novel solutions not previously identified by any other person, computer or amoeba?
If we actually had the technology to reimagine how our brains work, over time, I bet that we’d get really good at it and be surprised with all the new things we can do and come up with. To be clear, this is not just “getting smarter” by today’s standards, this is about using our brains in entirely new ways.
Maybe that means that your school today would be in the museum of the future.
People would likely use these MBMIs to invent and discover, solve disagreements, create new art and music, learn new skills, improve themselves in surprising ways and dozens of other things we can’t imagine now.
When thinking about the possibilities, hundreds of questions come to my mind. For example, could we:
minimize many of our less desirable proclivities, individually and collectively?
become more wise as a species?
come up with original solutions to climate change and other pressing problems?
accelerate the speed someone learns (i.e. you get a new kind of PhD at age 12 versus the average of 31 today)
I wonder, is this what you will do at your job in 20 years? Would your mind change so much that it would be hard to recognize your 15 year old self?
Ultimately, for our own survival, we are in a race against time. We need to identify the problems that pose the greatest risks and respond fast enough so that we avoid a zombie apocalypse situation. The most important variable to avoid that: we need to be able to adapt fast enough.
I’m sure at this moment you’re thinking, woah, Dad, calm down!!
V. Your New Job — Being Really Weird (in a good way)
You’re right in wondering what jobs computers will take — if not all of them. They’ll do the boring things that adults do to make money, except far better and for far less money. But imagine a scenario where AI relieves you of 75% of your current day-to-day responsibilities, and is much better at doing those things than you. (I imagined what this world could look like)
A lot has been written, even movies made, about this scenario (e.g.Wall-E). If this happened, would you play fully immersive video games all day? Or live a life of pleasure and be work-free? Certainly possible, although those are linear extrapolations of what we are familiar with today — meaning that’s simply taking what we know today and mapping it into the future. The same thing as looking in the light.
What if millions or even billions of people could build careers by exploring new frontiers of reality and consciousness powered by MBMIs? These types of “weird” thought exercises may be breadcrumbs that extend the considerations we’re willing to make when thinking about our collective cognitive future.
These may be the starter tools that empower us to become Old Worldexplorers setting out for the New World, and journeying on the most exciting and consequential endeavor in human history — an expedition, inward, to discover ourselves.
Dad

I finished it! (taking advantage of my Bronchitis, so I could not do anything but to play a quiet game such as Tides of Numera that makes you read a lot.)
My gosh. I could feel and notice how similar everything was to Pillars of Eternity. Even the final is so PoE. I  mean you really perceive that the whole game was made by the same people who did PoE.
Spoilers Ahead
The Changing God had been dead long time ago. Sooo, soooo PoE that. In their games there are never Gods at all. The Ninth World, like Planescape:Torment gives a really amazing landscape to explore and different quests with different chars, but everything feels too shallow. I mean, you go to Sagus, to find the Martial Artist there, you solve the problem and that's all. You never again interact with him. It's a world so empty of “daily life”. It feels like the whole world is setted in a way just for you to explore, command and do staff. I don't know why I feel it that way.
The merecaster system (exactly the same system you use for “reading souls”in PoE) was quite interesting, even though sometimes it was boring. The long descriptions of the environment was too much sometimes. But I have the feeling that most of them, when they are not related to castoffs, it's just a bunch of scattered memories, they do not make sense , they dont have anything where to fit, (and produce a higher feeling of shallow senseless in a world like the Ninth, where you can see headless people walking around, chilling.) Probably this is what strikes your mind most of the time: the lack of sense in everyone’s existence. Of youse, you can interpret Ninth as an allegory of our current life, but it doesn’t suffice. At some point, you have to stop trying to find sense or symbolic interpretation, because everything is crazy. Like the Baker with the “wrong” Levy, asking another year of his life. I mean, there are amazing things and concepts such the Dendra O'Hur cult, or the Changing God itself, Aligern’s family/tatoos in his body and mind, th glow of Erriti that will kill him but it was going to be “amazing”, the Bloom itself devouring us all to its whim, Rhin crafting her own “Gods” (sublime allegory) or the same existence of the castoffs. All of them are quite interesting allegories, but you need to stop at some point, because everything goes too wild. Like the people living in a Whale, with the lack of written words, and ill, that wanted to land in Sagus, or the book you return to Falinda (she speaks narrating). Or the man researching the reproduction processes of many species... one of them was removing a limb of your own body from which the “kid” developed itself, condemned to have a role according to the limb (like, arms=worker, head=scientist, etc). This was a whole .. what? the?fuck?.
Characters
Now, this was really good.
Tybir broke his heart and mine, and probably most players' (I’m grateful he didn’t turn in a story I was expecting of, the greater betrayer). However, I'm angry at this story, because this is the usual sad, angst gay story. I grow up reading and watching these stories, and I 'm not fond of them, in fact I’m too tired for them. It's like repeating all the time that gay relationships are always condemned to death. Anyway, what I loved of this quest was that the concept didn't go only into a bad ending romance. It was also the exploration of  human kindness. Tybir and Auvigne were both kind men. Tybir was raised to be honest and gentle, he said so, but the world hardened him. He lost his faith in the world, mainly after the Endless War that clearly messed his mind beyond repair. On the other hand, Auvigne was more optimistic. He did not lose his faith in the world, he even wanted to change it, to turn it into a gentler place. Everything goes to hell when Tybir lived Auvigne's death in the endless war. He was never again the same.
The story sound quite real for Ninth (this world is crazy). I resent a lot that you, with all your mighty ass of a castoff, can't find an object and use it as a mere to change that past and make Auvigne to avoid the Bloom. With that it would have been enough. I hate that the game did not offer you options here. You change everything, even the Changing God's end! But not Auvigne 's. Pft.
And the ending of Tybir going to atone his sins in the village he almost destroyed... alone... meh. The big protector, dying old and alone. I don't like that ending :/.
Aligern is another of my favourite chars. His story was more like I would have liked for Tybir. The man with all his angst about his daughter and wife, and in the end, you can save them. You have the option through the choice of using or not those tattoos. But we all know heterosexuality is a bless, and makes things go right most of the time. Meh.
Anyway, I liked his story. From the fallen Aeon Priest, to super angry, cynical, grumpy dad, to a man in peace with his fate and his family sound and safe.
Rhin!!!!!!! My god. She is perfect. She simply is. She crafts now “Gods”, and they are powerful when they are crafted with the bounds of love. Myyy. I let her go to her world, thinking that was going to be all, but... I couldn't believe she was an adult woman (TALLER than the your char themself!) coming to rescue the “castoff in distress”. I loved her. Every bit of her.
Erritis. I only played more with him after I sent Rhin to her world. I think I missed his personal quest, if he has one... but the small bits I saw in the process were scary. I made the surgeons to dig inside of him, and the nano-bright bullshit was a horrible discovery and still yet, amazing. I loved his symbol. I mean.. yeah, it's sad I don't know if he chose to take those nano-things on him.  But the concept is really good. Scary, but good. This thing of live fast and intense but short. That was more or less what he did. Burning his life through the nano-bright shit to enjoy life to the extreme. What I think it’s a bit troublesome is his lack of bounds. He doesn’t remember himself, he doesn’t remember his family, where he comes, or anything. He is blind enthusiasm for new things, all the time, everyday, until the last day of his life. And, his end was sooo very very PoE (Very Sagani :(  ). Just died in a road, there, left to rot. Alone.
Sadly, I got Matkina too late in the game, I was too curious about Aligern’s and Tybir’s and Rhin's backgrounds to get her into my party. So she did not catch my attention.
Same happened with Callistege. In the first moment I chose Aligern over her because well... Aligern was all the time saying she was going to back-stab me, so.... that, and the small details that showed her like a character more interested in learning things, and curious about knowledge than caring over people. She really felt like she could put you into a machine with some tricks just to research yourself. I mean, more of less it was what she did with Aligern (keep him close as long as she could understand the tattoos and what happened). Of course both characters keep saying that they got a kind of short mutual benefit in their weird relationship.... but... The way she used Aligern, even though she was fully aware of the extremely vulnerable state that he was... I don't know. Thing is, I did nothing with her... so, at the end of the game, she finished dead somewhere, they don't even specified that. Like in a dark corner of the streets... wtf.
I don't know. I liked the choices, the story in general, the way you develop the plot through scraps of memories lost everywhere.  It has a clear sign of PoE’s people everywhere.
I liked the end they allowed me to choose. I was mostly a golden-red castoff, so I played all valuing life individually. The final end allowed me to be coherent with that, even more, the Sorrow said “well, the solution is not the optimal, but it makes sense with what you said before, so, cookies.” lol. That was weird, very very Ninth, that the Grim Reaper congratulates you for being coherent with your words and actions. Like, sure, man, did I impressed you so much for you to stop chasing after me?. No?. Sad.
I left the things the way they were. Every castoff had to choose how to live their lives until the end. With the Sorrow.
What I don't understand much in this is the concept of the Sorrow. The Gods do not exist, or they are small powerful being, no more. However, the Sorrow looks like a Death God, who protects the “seals of the madness”. I don't know, the Sorrow looks like too much of a God to my taste, and I think there is a contradiction in this because, after playing PoE and this game now, I know that both games reinforce constantly the concept of “there is no God in this world”. I would like to read any meta related to the Sorrow, if someone gave a thought bout it.
But well, I loved this game. A lot.Like PoE. They are quite beutiful, simple and sooooo bok-like (you feel like you are all the time reading a book, not playing a videogame xD)

ok heres pros and cons from all saints row games i was bored
saints row 1
pros
lin
a lot of usage of the word “cock”
good story and characters (for a 2006 gang war game????)
your character has like 3 lines in the entire game but he still manages to be a well written character through just body language and expressions
BOUNCE LIKE MY CHECKS DID BACK IN THE DAY BEFORE I GOT THIS PAPER BEFORE I GOT PAID
cons
lin’s death
only on xbox 360
you can only be a male character
not much character customization (not many clothes, very little color options)
awful controls
no checkpoints in missions
way too many timed missions
missions are REALLY FUCKING HARD SOMETIMES AND YOU CANT SKIP THEM
your character isnt a bullet sponge
a lot of random enemies have rocket launchers
this game is more like suffering than fun. made me want to die multiple times im not even joking
no never die cheat
saints row 2
pros:
probably the best character creator i’ve ever seen
clothing customization is also great (many options, you can choose different options how you want to wear a clothing article like have it open, closed, tucked in pants etc, many color options, you can add a logo on your clothing, different patterns etc)
great animations
character deaths are so fucking CREATIVE
new amazing characters!!!!!!!!!!!
character development!!!!!!!!!!!
amazing soundtrack (THE BEST 80s and 90s hits and fucking my chemical romance, panic at the disco and paramore)
good selection of cheats if you hate gameplay (including a never die cheat)
missions have checkpoints and arent frustrating
its a really good game if it works
this game just makes me feel comfy !!!!! i dont know why
cons:
bad optimization for pc. like really fucking bad. doesn’t run well on most computers, crashes often, no mouse support in menus, all button prompts have xbox controller buttons instead of keyboard keys, bad framerates etc etc etc
you have to download a mod for the game to be somewhat playable
the whole game is really grey and not very colorful (but this is also fixable with mods)
DLC only available on xbox 360 and ps3
two story DLCs had bad cutscene animations (characters basically just stand still and move their hands a little bit) and they didn’t have endings and seemed unfinished
a big part of the story is a “secret mission” which is almost impossible to find without googling it (i had no idea it even existed until recently and i’ve been playing these games for 5 years)
good characters die in the story to make you feel more revengeful towards the enemy gangs (and it works but its NOT GOOD!!!!!!!!!)
saints row: the third
pros:
its so colorful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the dubstep really hypes you up
power by kanye west is a good song
cons:
they really tried to make the game different than GTA and it went to shit
new shitty engine
awful character creator. the characters faces always look the same even if you randomize them and there’s just two body types: really buff and really fat
the male character’s arms are so wide and short he looks like a weird goblin when he moves in the cutscenes
troy baker voices the default male character
a very important character in the game who has been in the first 2 games and is your character’s best friend dies in the first 5 minutes of the game just so you might hate one of the enemy gang leaders more. literally fucking pointless and made me hate the game’s creators instead of the character i was supposed to hate
haha bad memes and dickjokes haha ha ha
the troy “no homo” baker voice is really into one of the female characters in the game
its almost impossible to die in this game. your character really sucks up the bullets you dont even have to cheat
boring gangs and gang bosses. trench coat guys, wrestler guys, emo hacker guys, theres no story to them, who cares
no character development, characters are bland and your character is so badass its,,,,,so fucking boring
saints row IV
pros:
it’s good. it’s really not missing anything. it has everything you could ask for and more. the superpowers are fun, theres many new minigames, fun missions (a 16-bit sidescroller, a text adventure, metal gear parody etc), your best friend who “”””””died””””””” in saints row 3 is back, you can romance the characters, theres a lot to do and see !!
cons:
....its just not a saints row game. if it wasnt a saints row game it would be perfect
the plot of the game is that you become the president of the united states, aliens attack, they destroy the earth and you live in space
same engine as in saints row 3. same character creator. everything is the same
they just really didnt want to be a GTA clone
fuck
saints row: gat out of hell
pros:
cons:
"standalone expansion”
same engine as 3 and 4
its so bad
just let me die
agents of mayhem
pros:
cons:
uses the saints logo and the color purple but isnt a saints row game
literally
what
the
fuck
is this
writing this made me angry i probably forgot a lot of things i have to go cool off
