Like actually in general my parents never just. bought me video games unprompted. I listen to Scott the Woz talk about his parents buying him games and Nintendo Power subscriptions just for no reason and I'm like. ?????? Families do that?

I disagree with this, actually.

Drawing this conclusion might be tempting, but what you have to realize is that designing a game is a very holistic practice. You can't change a fundamental part of a game's design without affecting everything else. And gacha games are designed to push the player to spend. Inherently. Everything about a gacha game's pacing, economy, progression structure and storytelling is designed to push players to want to roll the dice. So often when a gacha game is revamped to remove the gambling aspect, what happens is.... the game kinda sucks? Without the dopamine rush from gambling as a reward structure, these games are typically left without a leg to stand on. Because they are vessels for gambling, plain and simple.

I can’t spawn a random horse and save?#i don’t even care abt the infinite health or dead eye stuff #i just want to see the horse patterns #it’s weird.#the only other game I know with built in cheats is Minecraft #and it turns off achievements on bedrock but not saving #some people say it could corrupt your game file but that doesn’t make sense to me #it’s just changing values that you can-for the most part-change yourself in game #like you can unlock all outfits yourself-or make 500$-or change your honor #some of them might be more iffy but. cmon #if they’re really worried about it #why not give the players a corruption warning rather than blanket stopping players from saving at all #idk I’m tired and sad
