Ask Guidelines

For the sake of streamlining my inbox, please follow the guidelines below when submitting Asks. I appreciate all your questions, but I simply find that I lack enough free time to spend with them. Some weeks are busier than others for my inbox, but I personally feel it's a bit unfair to those of you who may be waiting a long time for a response. Plus, I do need some "me" time now and again, no matter how much I love sailing around on here.

*UPDATED 12/22/24

Reaction/Response-style Asks must remain paired down. These are lots of fun for all of us, but they take up a majority of the time I spend on the inbox. When you submit a request like this, please only specify up to 2 characters (ROs, side characters, etc…) you want to know the answer for (I will throw in some or all of the other characters if I have time and/or can answer quickly). If you do not specify, I will pick for you based on how quickly I can answer.

Please do not submit multiple Asks with the same question for the other characters. This will just eat up my time, and I do not want to delete them, but I will have to.

If your question has been asked before, I will try to find a link to it for you (most of these I have tracked in a document so it doesn't take long). I haven't yet put together an FAQ since I really don't get a ton of repeats for the same questions. One day, I may make a searchable document with them.

*NEW* "Spoiler" Asks. I am trying my hardest to limit spoilers for readers. Some things are going to spill with the nature of a work like this, but I want to keep that to a minimum. This is for the benefit of old readers who still want to experience things in-story and for the new who may have recently started following.

It is still okay to send these questions in – and theories too! I love seeing where your head is at on events and where you think it may be going. I just may not be able to answer certain things and in some cases, I may not be able to post a response. It just really depends on the content.

I will make determinations on these on a question-by-question basis. Sometimes the question itself contains a spoiler (even if it's just a name) that might affect a new reader's experience.

I will make tags to warn when I answer things that may have info others don't want to see.

Comments are still very much welcomed. If you by chance do not want a response posted, please simply let me know if that is what you prefer. I generally like to post at least a little response to these for you, but if that makes you uncomfortable, please let me know in the Ask.

Music suggestions are welcome (for instance if a song makes you think of a particular character).

Art suggestions are welcome (if an art piece makes you think of a character and such).

Story theories are welcome too!

Error Reports are still welcome with some guidelines.

Game-breaking errors of course are super appreciated so I can address these ASAP.

Coding mishaps (you can see code in the text or something is clearly not coded correctly) can go either to the Asks or to the Google Form, but the Google Form is preferred due to frequent repeats to the Inbox. Reports on Tumblr are tagged as "gc whoopsies" so you can check if the issue you found has already been addressed here.

Typos and grammar issues – please send these in using the Google form linked in the game and on the pinned post. It's been handy getting these in my inbox since I can fix them right away in my main Twine file, but there are a lot of errors in GC, and they're going to fill my inbox and I have no control over repeats.

Asks that are long/wordy are still okay, as long as they meet the other Ask criteria. I don't mind reading a lot since I can still do that fairly fast (and I totally understand the need for context or if you have several comments to make). I can be wordy myself, so I get it, sometimes you just want those details in there. You may not get a super long response in return, but I read every word.

Try to space out your Asks in general. I will leave this to your discretion and trust that you to not submit several in a short window of time.

NSFW Asks are totally okay with me. There is not much outside of my comfort zone. If something is too far, in my opinion, for a public response - I will simply delete it and pop a courtesy post out to try and signal to you that it is one I cannot answer.

I was hoping to avoid placing any rules on my inbox, but I never anticipated this many followers or that anyone would have quite so many questions or comments about my work. This is to ensure that I keep myself controlled more so than any of you. I have so much fun chatting with you and answering questions, that the IF writing and planning ends up delayed. Since that's why we're here, I need most of my free time to go to the IF(s) and any extras.

I will make updates to this post as needed. There will be a link to at the very end of the Pinned Post too. If the inbox gets a bit crazy or is too much to juggle during crunch times, I will continue to pause it during those so I can catch up.

Welcome back to the second edition of the Tour de France Fanworks Classification, and we hope you're all ready for an exciting race ahead- both by the peloton and those who wish to create a fanwork for this event! The maillot scintillement, defended by @legendofthefireemblem is up for grabs for any GC hopefuls this year, along with the return of the category classifications for those seeking a more specialised challenge. Continuing on from the Giro, another gauntlet has emerged for those brave enough to challenge it- although this one seems to only count submissions for stages that are multiples of three. A YouTuber I've followed for years even though I don't really watch most of her videos just posted something about attending a "women only" festival and everything I can find about said festival online just says stuff about divine feminine energy and that they are "women only" and also the FAQ says they "can't" discriminate if men feel "called to attend" which is like... fucking ominious ngl??? There was also something about them on the website for a charity called Save Our Sons and Daughters, which purports to be about suicide prevention and I can't see anything explicitly transphobic beyond being baseline levels of gender essentialist and binary either there or associated with this festival, but the whole... vibe is fucking rancid and I'm very upset, lol.

Like in this day and age if you do not mention trans people At All in your event For Women then I do not assume good faith. See also: anything about "saving" our "sons and daughters." At best, both organisations need to do sensitivity training and I am not that willing to believe that it's an "at best" situation until the implicit ra/dfe/m GC shit is specifically and firmly disavowed instead of just being plausibly deniable.

I have the same conversation with people about discord! “It’s too hard to use, let’s just make a whatsapp gc” NO. if you take the time to learn, discord is the best for organizing group projects/clubs/work that need to have an online presence. All of it’s ‘complicated’ features are what makes it so usable for so many different people.

If tumblr staff would have their FAQ more available, and new users took the time to just mess around a bit and learn the site, you can make the site work so well for your specific needs. that’s the reason people stay here!!! This is a very common question that comes with a giant misconception.  I am not sure where the rumor comes from but people are told that there is a FHA Certified Contractor List that they must select a contractor from.  Some borrowers are also told that they need to get their contractor FHA 203k Certified.  This is not a thing!!!!!  There is no certification and there is no list. You are able to choose almost any contractor you want, with a few basic rules. 1. The contractor can not be you and can not be related to you.  No fathers, brothers, uncles, cousins, or other relate member. 2. The contractor has to be validated by your lender.  ALL lenders have a different stack of criteria but there are some overlaps. All Lenders Require - Contractor fill out Validation Packet (lender specific) basic info and referrals - If the city/county has a GC License - your contractor must have it. - Insurance policy - most require a $1,000,000 policy which is very common. - The GC is a true GC and not a sub. Some Lenders Require - Bond if the city/county has one available - X amount of projects completed in the past year - X amount of jobs completed at a certain price in the past year There are a handful of other hoops and hurdles that the contractor will have to tackle but they just take time and patience rather than more time or accreditation.  Before searching for a contractor - ask your lender what their requirements will be. No worries, dear! There's a million questions floating out there and I don't have an FAQ or anything yet.

There's no poly relationships for GC. But, I will say that if you wanted to headcanon that at the end of the story it happens - no one can stop you, lol. If it helps, the others will be supportive even if they end up a bit heartbroken for a while.

I may do a poly for a future IF as long as I feel it can design an authentic relationship (which probably doesn't help your predicament, lol).

I'm so glad you enjoy it though! Especially for rereads, it means a lot to me that you are getting more of out of it. ^_^

Chapter 6 is in the kitchen! Production is a bit slower than I'd like, but still steady.

Q: When do I post my content?

A: Check out the schedule to see what day fits your content the most. Post to your own blog and we’ll pick it up. Alternatively, submissions are open and we will schedule your content for the appropriate day (or day of your request).

Q: Are there any restrictions on content?

A: No! And this also is true for types of content, length, style and so on. We also want to see your WIP if that’s all you had time for. Everything is welcome!

Q: I would like to share something NSFW, can I?

A: Of course! Just be sure to tag your content appropriately at the beginning of the post, leave the juicy stuff under the cut and make sure we’re talking consenting adults if it’s explicit.

Q: When should I use content warning?

A: We would appreciate content warnings if you include sexual themes, accident or injury, explicit or implied violence, and spoilers from the latest update.

Q: How should I use “the cut”?

A: First of all, thank you for thinking of your fellow RC fan! It would be great to use the cut or “Read More” option in your post if your content has a content warning on it and/or if your post is more than 1000 words long.

“Why cut at 1000 words?” Great question. You see, scrolling over really really long posts is just not very reader friendly, and many will not reblog content that takes more than a short hand gesture to get past. That’s why we recommend you hide the rest of your masterpiece around the 1000 word mark for us to reblog without feeling awkward about clogging up the feed with all this incredible content. We thank you in advance!
