How often do you think “when I accomplish *X*, I will be happy?” ⁣ ⁣ Does your happiness lie in a future goal not yet accomplished? Today, I challenge you to find happiness in the present moment. Minor spoilers ahead but stay for the analogy) ⁣ ⁣ Laura Wilson thought that by becoming one of the gods, achieving fame, beauty, and power, that she would be free and happy. Little did she know that by actually ACHIEVING THIS she endured pain, hardship, and sacrifices she could have never imagined. ⁣ ⁣ I’m not saying that placing your happiness in “X” is going to give you pain and hardship. But what I AM saying is that if you constantly wait to be happy until you reach your goal, you’ll never truly be happy. Accomplishing goals such as your dream job, number on the scale, financial stability, etc requires HARD and CONSISTENT work. Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cake-hole... ⁣ ⁣ I’m a little late but here is my post about how sad I am that Supernatural has come to an end. (Swipe to see some awesome shots of me with Baby at Eternal Con) ⁣ ⁣ So. ⁣ Supernatural has been a huge part of my life since season 1. (Remember when CW was The WB?!) It’s one of those shows that we set up family watch nights for & had to be home by 8pm so we wouldn’t miss anything. ⁣ ⁣ My family loves ghost stories. We always have and always will. Supernatural was the perfect show for us! ⁣ ⁣ It’s been there for us in tough times. It brought us so much joy. So much laughter. So many tears. It gave me something to call my mom about in college (other than asking for money & updates on how classes were going). I’ll also never forget the time Freshman year when I forced half of our floor to watch the season 4 premiere with me (@gracelouisecz @aderriere @wilmairene )⁣ ⁣ The show has had its ups and downs but it’s always been so incredibly special. And I have to give kudos to those (like me, mostly cuz of my mom @rhobod ) who have stuck with it until the end. I’m proud of us. We never gave up. ⁣ ⁣ I also want to give a special shout out to @misha for creating @gish and giving us weirdos a safe space to express ourselves for a good cause. What to do when you feel like a zombie ⚠️⁣ ⁣ We all have those days that are low energy, feels like you are dragging your feet, you want to bite everyone’s head off, etc ⁣ ⁣ Here’s how to combat that Zombie Energy: ⁣ ⁣ 💦 Hydrate! ⁣ Many people think caffeine will help ... and sometimes it does (I could do a whole post on coffee alone) but what your body really needs is water! ⁣ 🥑 Eat some “brain food.” ⁣ Foods rich in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats will nourish both the body and the mind and help boost energy levels without caffeine or other stimulants. Examples are: avocado, apples, blueberries, and dark chocolate. ⁣ 🎶 Play that funky music! ⁣ Put on a mood boosting playlist. This could literally be anything that pumps you up. From nostalgia to top hits, this is personal to YOU. ⁣ 💪🏼 Get moving! ⁣ Even if it’s just taking a walk around the block, moving your body is sure to improve your mood. Sunday was my 31st birthday. What a whirlwind this year has been. ⁣ ⁣ Turning 31 + The Pandemic has forced me to do some some deep emotional excavation and I want to share some reflections:⁣ ⁣ 💖 Every moment is what you make it. If you lead with empathy, curiosity, and fun, you’ll have a really rewarding life. ⁣ 💖 Every moment is temporary. Every situation, every hardship, every celebration - it’s all temporary. So when things are going well, embrace it! Have a freaking blast. When things are shit, they will get better. Eventually. You can’t have a rainbow without a little rain 🌈⁣ 💖 Stay Creative. Creativity = Happiness. Creativity is a lifeline. Creativity is your connection to your inner child. Be. Creative. ⁣ 💖 Jealousy can tell you so much about yourself. Be aware of who you are jealous of and why. It will teach you so much about your needs/wants/desires deep down. ⁣ 💖 Move your body in ways that make you feel good, always 🥰⁣ 💖 Do the things that make you happy! ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ P.S. Time yourself because on day 31 we are gonna do this move AGAIN to see how our core strength has improved! ⁣⁣ ⁣ Here are some tips for proper alignment: keep your hips in line with your shoulders and/or hold a flat spine (this means no arching the spine, no dipping hips toward the ground, and no booty’s in the sky!), rock your weight into your heels so your arms aren’t doing all the work, firmly squeeze energy into your core & glutes to help! ⁣ ⁣⁣ SWIPE to see some modification options if you need to come to the knees or forearms.
