The kickstarter has one week for late pledges and it is gettingclose to unlocking the falconry stretch goal! We have our chubby little Mongolian horses and we'll be getting Tekes and Ferghanas but I need a pretty Mongolian Eagle to hunt with! Honestly now that I'm thinking about it falconry would make a cool KCD2 DLC!

Week 11 (30th Mar - 6th Apr) - Monsters & Bugs!

This week I spent time finishing Levels 1 & 2 ready for the a Pre-Alpha state. Unfortunately, what was meant for a Sunday release, has now been delayed due to a massive bug I encountered over the weekend. 

The player would be unable to successfully transition through scenes! More details can be found in my Week 11 Development Vlog.

However, all that aside, I managed to achieve a lot in this week, from having UI prompts and AI chase scenes to puzzles being completed! Moreover, recent development has taught me that its best to polish games as you mean to go on. Games grow and get bigger over time - it’s best to comment code and keep things organised -- even as a solo developer!

Below you can find some screen-grabs of what the player may encounter (most definitely will) during their play-through of The Forsaken Ruins.

Next week, I’ll be focusing on sound design, finishing levels 4 and 5 and overall polish of the game. Deadlines are soon approaching and I need to get moving!

In addition, I plan to sure off how I went about implementing Wwise (sound plug-in) events in Unity and my general setup for the project.

UPDATE: Bing bang bong, I managed to solve the bug with help from @mattcorben​ and @vampireviktor20​! It was due to having player inputs within the FixedUpdate() function, causing the player to remain in its starting position and not at the new door position. With a lot of debugging we managed to narrow down the problem to a single script and hopefully its smooth sailing from here! 🤞

I know I'm getting close to finishing my time machine because I've caught several older versions of myself attempting to sabotage my lab.

I should never listen to my selves when building a time machine. Or how else would they have been there, that's my destiny to grow and go back to stop my younger self.

Almost finished..

Right now we are at the last fase of our app design. But this is here, that we need to be clear in what type of information that is nessecary to the client to be informed about. We want the customer to have an estimated time. Since this what the root to our problemstatement, we have made an solution where you can realtime track your order. Now we just need to implement the last elements and then we are ready to hand in the assignment.
