" take it easy. you're safe now, but you need to relax. "
Tumblr media
send in " take it easy. you're safe now, but you need to relax. " for the sender to greet a waking receiver after having found them badly wounded and on the brink of collapse at their doorstep.
Tumblr media
—¿Eh…?
Eri parpadeó varias veces para enfocar la vista. Le dolía la cabeza, como si se hubiera estrellado contra el suelo. Lo último que recordaba era haber echado a correr como si la persiguiera el infierno, pero… ¿qué había pasado antes?
—¡...!
No, recordaba.
No importaba. No tenía tiempo para haberse desmayado como idiota, quería volver a casa y ver a su madre.

*crawls onto desk and looks up upon you* oh dear and glorious author god who graciously feeds us by humble request,I have arrived once more to give asking for blessings of feed for my brethen and I. Please gib the jealous scenario. It is finally time to gib us. The jealous monke. Please and thank you.
((my beloved, i take as this request as a joyfull presents. I NEED MORE! PEOPLE I NEED MORE!))
"Well, it looks like you're getting quite good at it, huh?"
Turning around, you noticed Shen coming closer from his spot. You took the chance of a small chat with the forefather to get a small break from your training with your new-found powers. Being able to use some of the same skills that Yuán Fèn had was handy, but he was such a natural with them while you needed to focus a little more. Of course, your friend decided to help you out with them. That's why you both decided to head to the Zodiac Village to not gain attention. Of course the two of you were under the wathfull eyes of Bajie, sitting on a giant case near the furnace.
And of Shen, of course, but he had a strange glim in his eyes that day.
" Yes! Is exciting! I never imagined that even I could do such things as these!"
"You're a Natural One, y/n! We still need to fix a few mistakes, but you're on the right path!"
Yuán Fèn has nothing but pure pleasure; seeing you so excited makes his heart slip a bit a few times. And of course, many had noticed, and someone wanted to use another approach with you two.
"Is that so? Well, good to know, good to know... Since she's a natural with these staff, do you mind if I take your little friend here for a few tests? I should really need a palate like hers now."
Shen put his arm around your shoulder, poking your nose, glancing a few. Look to the other one. His tone, usually so relaxed and aloof, was strangely sweet to the younger monkey ears that time. To be honest, it felt less genuine and a little more suave.
"I...ehm...yes, why not? If y/n is fine by that."
"Well...okay! I needed a break!
"Good! Now follow me, dearest."
After that nickname, that gesture, and another side glance from the forefather, Yuán Fèn felt itchy, his foot tapping the ground light, and his tail wiggling in a strange behavior.
///
From there on, you cannot shake away the feeling that Shen was onto something.
He was closer, very closer than usual, to you while he let you taste a few of the wines that he was able to produce, and he kept letting you use the sober stone to avoid any kind of surprise. He wanted you vigilant, that's what he said.
He was funny; he had always had this easygoing behavior, but this time he had never let a chance slide for making you laugh or making some compliments that led you to a blushfull state.
And while he was acting in this behavior, as trying to show you around, someone seemed to be in an agitated state. From time to time, when you heard movements or something being touched by a foot, you were able to see a certain destiny around, looking at the two of you. You tried to call for him, trying to ask him if he was okay or if he needed something, but Shen was always ready to take away the words from your mouth and question the other male.
Yuán Fèn, with some scoff, just avoid the questions.
You were trying another wine when you felt Shen's hand on your shoulder.
"But enough of it; tell me, Y/n, do you have a special one?" You almost choke on the wine.
"M-me?"
"Of course you! Someone that caught your eye? Someone that let your heart skip a beat?"
You tapped the cap a few times, your eyes avoiding to meet Yuán Fèn and confirm something.
"Wel... I don't think. No..."
"Oh! So you basically free now, uh?" Why was he so close? You get so small between his hands. "In this case...why don't we-"
And in one swift second, two other hands grabbed you, taking you away from Shen's attention. A tail was wrapping around you like a cobra, and a shadow loomed over you, covering you from everything.
Yuán Fèn, with his teeth grinding, was looking at Shen with a pair of eyes that could set fire to a forest.
"HANDS OF OR-" as he had taken that stance, he suddenly stopped, one hand leaving you to cover in teeth in shame.
"Or...what?" Shen had that smirk again, unmoved by that show.
Yuán Fèn lowered his eyes on you; his shameful eyes met your incredulous ones. As he had come, he darted off, mumbling something for himself. You stood up, looking at him with a worried expression.
"Yuán Fèn! Wait! I'm so sorry, Shen! I'll go talk with him!"
You followed the Destined One, while Shen waved his hand with a sneaky eye.
///////
You were able to reach it only when the same monkey stopped in his tracks. You had called him a few times. but it seemed that he didn't quite register you at all.
"Yuán Fèn! Wjat happened! Why did you act like that?!" You looked at him with concern.
He had never reacted with someone like that, especially with you as an audience! When he turned around, his face was covered in a pure red shade, making him look more like a fire bell than anything.
"I don't know what happened to me! He-he was just...and you were...and I started to... I'm so sorry! I shouldn't act like that to the forefather!"
"Wait, wait, wait..." you take his hands in your "breath, then speak."
He did what you asked; he needed more minutes to completely calm himself.
"I'm so sorry that you have to witness that shameful display. I felt something bad from the moment he took you to testing those wines. I know he was planning something, but I didn't know what. And these things, this emotion—I felt this itching sensation that I needed to take you away from him!"
He seemed genuinely hurt, so you guessed that he acted as an idiot. After all,. he may be the destined one, but he was a monkey too. And, by the way, he was explaining it...
"Were you jealous?"
By hearing these three words, his expression of shame became one of pain. Like the idea of having such feelings made him sick of some sort.
"It's horrible; I'm so sorry! I didn't mean it!"
"Calm down," you giggled. " Is...fine! ...Flattering even."
"Flattering? How?" He looked at you, now confused by that statement.
"Well," you continued, "no one ever had jealousy as me as the motive. It's a new thing and a tiny tipsy cute."
"How can that be cute?!"
"Well, just a little! It's showing that you care, but just a bit! I'm not someone; I want to see you fight over people!"
At least you took it in the most rational way. He massaged his eyes, sighing deeply.
"I'm still sorry...in front of the forefather, a deity even!"
"Let's go and apologize. Besides, he was acting off, and I felt a little...hoverwelmed by him. As long as we make our piece, I think we're even." Your warm smile gave him a little more of a relax; at least you weren't angry. If it was necessary, he would have talked to the other zodiacs too; for now, he let you take his hand and guided him towards the village.
/////////
"You old monkey, have you no shame?!" Bajie could give a damn to the fact that the monkey was come kind of deity; he was ready to hit him with his rake. Shen just kept drinking with a very satisfied face.
"Brother,"Chen stepped in. "He's right! Poor girl, you must have scared her for life! And that poor boy, have you no shame to embarrass your youngling like that?!"
"Easy, my friends, easy! Look!" His finger pointed to the figure of you two, talking to each other and...holding hands. You were smiling, reassuring him. He was calming down, cinfessing something. " See? They just needed a small push."
"That's not even a real confession if you ask me," retorted Bajie.
"You may be right, brother pig, but if we don't set the base, we'll never have a house!"

Glitch Warrior: Stonewing
FUNFACT turns out that Stonewing in ShadowClan actually had a beta name. He was called Stonetooth, and was going to be mates with an obscure background cat called Wasptail.
Since I'm scrounging up ShadowClan cats here I'm absolutely doing something with this. But, there's already a Stonetooth. So we're looking at a conflict rename, lads!
Before getting to the poll, here's some deets about this guy;
Based on how the timeline shakes out, they're likely to end up as the child of Spindleclaw-- another Glitch Warrior, the brown sister of Ivytail.
This would make them Blackstar's grand-nespring.
If so, they might also be siblings with Shrewfoot.
Wherever they end up on the tree, this cat will be a sibling of Stonewing. Probably a littermate.
BB!Stonewing is actually deaf from birth. It works especially well if they have a sibling, because the home signs they develop to communicate can become part of the sign language that's going to evolve after SkyClan's arrival lmao.
The two can split the roles Canon!Stonewing has occupied. (Bonus, this can also fix an error that was in ASC: Star where Stonewing was a prisoner in the camp and the island at the same time lmao)
Stone"tooth" will probably be mates with Wasptail for a while, but I don't know if kittens will result. Stonewing's kittens with Grassheart are unchanged.
I am not committed to any particular gender for this cat yet. I'm leaning towards molly or gib.
For new names, I have three thoughts;
Option 1: StoneCHAT-tooth
A bird with a song like two stones being clicked. I feel like this could be a really cute reference to the idea that Stonewing was born deaf and doesn't speak, and so Stonechat-tooth helps interpret for him.
Since Stonechat-tooth is a bit long, I might make it Chat-tooth. Or just give them the Squilf treatment with their nickname-- Stoot.
Option 2: Bonetooth
A rhyme, but also ShadowClan sense of humor at work. Stonewing is pure white with dark blue eyes, and his sibling Bonetooth would be stony-gray. Mismatching colors chosen for the kits, to confuse their enemies.
Plus, Bone is a cool prefix. I say with absolutely no bias whatsoever.
Option 3: Different Kind of Rock-tooth
There's actually lots of types of neat rocks to use here. Fossils are not uncommon, fairy coins mean that both Fairy and Coin are valid, conglomerate rocks mean that "Cobbletooth" could be a totally valid name here.
Or even just Rocktooth, of course. Simplest alternate name.
EXACT details to be hammered out, so the precise name is chosen later; which BROAD CATEGORY should this rename go into?

Saw posts about oc kiss week floating around, which reminded that I promptly failed to do anything for it even though some people gave me the green light to smooch their OCs with my OCs And I tried to identify problems that stopped me last year, and one of them is definitely a decision paralysis, so this time I'll try to fix...that. By providing options.
Tumblr media
You know the drill- send an ask with your OC you want to be smooched, pick my OC (either Ram or young Mutt), gib me the number, wait and hope I'll manage to sketch it this time :D

Beyond Citadel
CWs: Gun Violence, Death, Gore, Incest, Body horror.
Beyond Citadel is a beautiful indie boomer shooter style FPS. It's gunplay is fantastic, it's story is esoteric, and it's atmosphere is beautiful. It's a great game and I highly recommend it with some very heavy caveats. It is a game that leans into the ultra violence inherent to the act of killing someone with a gun, and as such it's a game that comes with some pretty heavy Content warnings. While I feel some other retro-inspired FPS games as of late have also leaned into this idea of hyper-violence, (ULTRAKILL springs to mind) there's a certain grainy grit to it that I really enjoy that other games lack. ULTRAKILL, for all of it's blood-is-fuel ultraviolence rarely leans into what that sort of violence looks like in reality. In contrast, Beyond Citadel is *gruesomely* aware of what it looks like to hold a gun to someone's head and pull the trigger. It revels in this fact. The girls in this game are highly "gib"-able and as such you will regularly throw a grenade into a crowded room and after it explodes walk into a room full of viscera and half-dead women panting or gurgling on their own bloom, many of whom are now missing limbs. It does so with a delightful PNG aesthetic that is both wonderfully simple, and extremely detailed. If you shoot one of these PNG soldiers in the arm, their arm will be blown off, shoot them in the head and you'll punch a hole in their skull. Playing this game feels like the way reactionary talking heads discussed the dangers of violent video games in the aughts. Playing this game feels like being a cat playing with a dying rat. It's wonderful! I love it. But beyond this the game is just extremely fun to play. Shooting and reloading a weapon in this game feels like porn in every sense of the word. While some milsims might have more detailed mechanics for jamming/loading/unloading/fixing/repairing guns, Beyond Citadel allows for a degree of control that feels accurate and realistic, without being so bogged down in the details of how every individual part of the weapon goes together. Reloading takes three separate buttons, each of which represents a unique aspect of the reloading process. For some guns, reloading is as simple as loading a bullet into a chamber, some are significantly more complicated, involving a set 5 button-press combination of inputs. This might sound finicky and difficult to manage, but in the midst of combat it allows for a degree of panic when a gun randomly jams, or you're forced out of your comfort zone. This also adds a level of balance to some of the stronger weapons. Easy-to-use weapons might have simple reloading mechanics, while powerful heavy weaponry requires a significant amount of inputs to reload, but can blow most enemies away when they have ammo.
An anecdote on this topic that endlessly delights me, is the fact that at one point I managed to fully jam the AMR by accidentally reloading it's magazine with an open chamber and a bullet already loaded. This meant that the bullet in the open chamber couldn't be slotted, and since the chamber was open I couldn't fire. I had to take out the full magazine, close the chamber, fire while the magazine was unloaded, then reload the magazine to actually utilize the weapon, and the fact that this is simulated so accurately continues to blow me away. In any other arcade-style FPS this wouldn't be possible, since reloading would either be automated or simplified to a single button press but even so, the fact that you can fuck up your weapon that badly just by reloading it improperly is a really beautiful bit of programming to me.
But those are still really just the tip of the iceberg, as there's a lot going on in the deeper levels and the story that I want to discuss as well! This will be veering away from the format of a game review and into a short essay on my thoughts, but I'll keep the spoilery bits below the cut.
So. Beyond Citadel is weird, right? Like. The vibes are fantastic, but ultimately the story it's telling is pretty contemplative which is in stark contrast to the ultra-violence that is the gameplay. This can be seen in the simple music choice, which is largely soft piano tracks (with the occasional bit of upbeat electro retro goodnes) which make the game almost peaceful as you blow through swarms of demons and gun-wielding girls. It lends itself to a really beautiful experience, which leaves you almost in a trance as you progress through the game, even as the *act* of what you're doing is gruesome and awful. In my mind it mirrors the way in which the Martyr is progressing through the story. She's not here for the killing, even as every other NPC begs her to kill and kill and kill, she just... does not care. She's not here for that. She'll do it, yes, because she has to, but there's an air of indifference that really lends to that feeling of being a force of nature. This is increasingly explicit as you get deeper into the game, killing demons almost as an afterthought. Early on you're ducking behind cover, taking potshots at grunts and picking enemies off one by one, but by the end of the game you're nearly unkillable, even on the hardest difficulty. At a certain point the game just gives up on the idea of having lives entirely, and that's great! It's fun to see a game that is so willing to break its own rules for what the game *is*.
And then you beat the game. You kill the last demon, and that's that! The goal given to you by basically every character is complete. You kill the final boss, and that's that. It's a fine fight, and the level containing it is *genuinely* a bit cruel, but at that point you're so kitted out that even when the game is being unfair you can blast your way through most of your problems with ease.
And then the game gives you a fucking wall-run.
It gives you a wallrun *after* you beat the game, which is used in no other part of the game, but the epilogue.
It's truly a beautiful amazing thing, and I was genuinely floored. After such a delightful, fun game, it feels like a flex by the developer to have what would be a mainline mechanic in basically any other game, included essentially as a little bonus flair on top.
If this game was not made by a solo developer, if it had a publisher that was dictating what could and couldn't be in the game, this decision would never be made. It's genuinely insane to put your coolest power up in a handful of bonus levels at the end of the game, and not even allow for it to be used to break earlier levels in new game plus. And that led me to consider more on how *none* of this game could really have been made with significant publisher oversight, or as anything but the vision of one person who clearly loves guns and loves retro FPS games.
Much has been said by the developer about how this is *NOT* a guro fetish game. How this is *NOT* a porn game that freaks *DEFINITELY* should not get off to. And while I get where the developer is coming from (plenty of Japanese games are labeled as "fetish art" just because they feature anime style women), I do think there's a reason that my guro-fetish loving ass enjoys this game. Maybe the developer doesn't view it as fetish art, but when the girls are panting on the ground, gurgling on their own blood and you get to stomp their lights out, or put a bullet in their brain, or chop them up until their guts come out, it *is* pretty delightful.
But none of that would be possible with a publisher lording over the game. Hell, I don't even think the gunplay mechanics could get put in a more mainstream game that wasn't advertising itself as a tactical milsim.
Because this game is risky! It's niche! It's a small game where you blow pretty anime girl's brains out with guns that feel like glossier adaptations of real life weapons. Clearly a ton of love went into this game, but ultimately that descriptor just isn't going to fly with most audiences. Most people who like "violent" video games like games where there's a bit of blood, or you can chop peoples arms off and its a bit red inside. Most people do not want a game where when you die your guts come spilling out and you get to watch in your final moments as a giant spider creature tears your body apart until all you are is a severed head above a ribcage and spine. Most people who like FPS games like the feeling of shooting a gun without having any conception about what that actually entails. They like when you press R to reload and a gun has a good spray pattern or whatever, not when you have to actively unload the last chamber, and manually put in each bullet, and pull the handle on your SMG and your guns jam and sometimes you reload it wrong and your gun is out of commission until you do a 5 step process to fix it. Most people who like games with rich narratives like games where the story feels like a sweeping narrative, not a game where the story is patched together from different esoteric things people tell you, in which the story largely revolves around the fact that the main character and her little brother fucked. While this game is fantastic, it's just not a game for most people. I have several friends I love to recommend games to, and even then there's only one of them that I can *actually* recommend the game to, because a third of them will be put off by the scantily clad women, half will be put off by the gore, and the rest probably just wouldn't enjoy the gunplay or style of game that it is.
And that's okay! That's great! I'm just so glad that I played it, because this game feels laser targeted to me specifically, and it's a game I will be thinking about and replaying for a very very long time to come.

OK OK OK OK HEAR ME OUT:
What if reader, who loves sweet things and is a bit in the chubby side, adores Ray. Best friends science high school and they are so scared of screwing up and confessing, one night Ray brings them back after a ghost incident in their apartment complex and they are so sleep deprived they confess and Ray has a massive grin on his face and gibs them a lil smooch
THIS IS ACTUALLY SO CUTE OFC I WILL WRITE THIS ONE !!
─────────────── ✦ ───────────────
Tumblr media
Sleep Deprived Confession
Ray Stantz x chubby!Reader
WARNINGS : none!
─────────────── ✦ ───────────────
YOU AND RAY HAVE BEEN BEST FRIENDS SINCE high school. You two were pretty much tied to the hip since day one. with an equal love for science, you two bonded, even over stuff like the occult, since it was something that he was interested in and something that you already knew way too much about, so that bond technically made itself.
But, your feelings for Ray have grown a significant amount since high school. You were scared to even admit it to yourself. But you definitely weren't going to admit it to Ray. You were scared to ruin that friendship, and something like that would definitely do it. You've seen it happen. Not only that, but the insecurity you've had since high school always kicked in, not to mention that you were picked on for it. And that was being a bit on the chubby side.
Now you didn't mind this, it was just that people who did mind it that always said something. You would say something back, not letting the people win. But sometimes, they did win. But you weren't going to tell them that.
You hadn't slept in about a couple of days, mainly because you had been away from home. Your apartment complex had been haunted. You were staying at the Firehouse because of it. And you couldn't sleep there because you missed the warmth of your own bed. But luckily, Ray and the other ghostbusters had fixed that problem for you.
Ray was the one who took you back to your apartment. You fumble for your keys, but you're even too tired to unlock the door. You even dropped the keys a couple times. It took Ray to grab the keys from you and unlock your door that you could finally enter into your apartment.
You didn't even make it to the bed. You pretty much laid down on your couch because you couldn't make it far enough. You're slightly sitting up, your arms are folded on the end of the couch, your head resting on your arms.
Your eyes are about to close, but they stay open just enough for you to speak to him as he was about to leave.
"Can you just stay? Just for tonight," you say tiredly, "I just wanna make sure that the ghosts are actually gone."
Ray turned around. "I assure you that they're gone, but sure! The guys won't mind if I'm home for one night," he replies back.
"Thanks ... I 'ppreciate it," you tell him, "you're always there for me when no one else is."
"Well of course," Ray says, "You're my friend. I care about you."
"Friend ..." you sleepily trail off, "Friend is such a vague thing ... I wish we could be more than friends."
You had barely even realized what you have said. But Ray definitely heard it. He looks at you, eyes softening. But, a massive grin appears on his face. He tilts your head up to face him before giving you a small kiss on your lips.
Your face is red. Beet red. You weren't expecting that. It even wakes you up a little bit. You look up at him, embarrassed that what you said had even come out of your mouth.
"How come you never asked to be?" Ray asked, "I thought we could tell each other everything."
"I didn't wanna ruin our friendship," you simply answered, a yawn escaping your lips.
"Well, I wouldn't mind. We can totally be more than friends," Ray told you.
"Yeah ... That would be nice," you said back. Another yawn escaping from you.
Before Ray can respond back, you were already asleep. The only thing he could do was gently rub his hand through your hair before giving you a kiss to your forehead.
"Sweet dreams, Y/N ..." he whispers.
