It's forever funny to me how in trk blue and gansey are having a wonderful night, falling further in love and making new friends and having fun

meanwhile ronan and adam get a horror story evening about a forest possessed by a demon that tries to dissolve them both while they try to rescue their daughter

starting off 2025 with boscage sonic (aka scruffy)

random notes about him:

- he’s sonic’s protectiveness (especially towards tails), stubbornness, and love of nature. he’s the big brother, the protector. scruffy is much more serious than sonic is, muzzle basically curved in a permanent frown

- speaking of sonic, his ass hates that mf. not only does this small, spiky guy look like him, he’s also getting a little too close to mangey for scruffy’s liking AND he hurt thorn. if he went after thorn, who’s to say he won’t go after his cub at some point? i also just really like the idea that the different versions of sonic don’t like him because of how quickly he latches onto their versions of tails

- he can talk, he just actively chooses not to unless it’s 100% necessary. he usually just huffs and grunts at people

- he and mangey are separated when sonic goes to the maze. scruffy is in the forest with thorn and birdie

- thorn is his best friend. when the ache in his heart is too much, he goes to her for comfort. he understands that mangey is a scavenger, but he doesn’t like it. he doesn’t like it at all

now for the random lore dump beneath the cut!

scruffy was on the same boat as thorn when it came to the soon-to-be-called scavengers taking the forest’s resources (except for mangey who was doing nothing wrong in his eyes of course). When the time came, he helped the hedgehog drive the scavengers away, only stopping when he noticed mangey was also running from him. He saw the fear in the kit’s eyes has he scrambled up to the treetops with the others and immediately regretted his decision, even if thorn was telling him it was for the better; that mangey chose to go with the scavengers.

by the time sonic lands in the boscage maze, scruffy spends most of his time either with thorn and birdie or near the base of the tree he saw mangey leave on. He is convinced that the little fox is terrified of him and hates him (mangey also thinks scruffy hates him and that’s why the beast scared him away. the kit spends a lot of time near the edges of the wooden platforms in the trees, looking for any sign of his big brother through the leaves) but he still hopes for the day the fox descends from the tree and their little family reunites

that’s all i really have for him so far. still need to work out how exactly he’d fit into the overall story. but yeah, my new boy scruffy!!! i love hims!!!

mild warning for violence.

thinking about a really self indulgent au where hiccup is captured by the dragon hunters in their base, and a small group of them take the opportunity to get some payback. toothless can hear the sounds of violence from the other side of the camp, and starts thrashing against the chains.

viggo and ryker, who were in the vicinity of the night fury, see this and are a bit confused. viggo realizes quickly that the only reason toothless would act like that is if hiccup's in danger, and internally he just groans and curses because by thor can't anyone here follow simple orders??

the three hunters who beat hiccup up are gone by the time viggo and his men get there, and though hiccup luckily isn't too injured, they did bruise his ribs and caused some injuries to the face. ryker asks if viggo wants to put a search party on the deserting hunters, which could take a while, but viggo has a better idea. one of the hunters left their weapon behind, splatters of hiccup's blood still on it, and viggo takes it with him.

ryker is confused, and even more so when viggo goes to the night fury and holds up the weapon in front of it. the night fury's pupils draw to slits when it smells the blood, before it scents the hilt where the hunter held it. viggo just smiles, and says he expects the dragon knows what to do. then he orders ryker to have the night fury be released.

for a moment, ryker considers mutiny as well, but whatever, whatever, if this is what viggo wants then he guesses this is what they're gonna do, just don't start crying when the night fury kills them all! the hunters undo the chains, and the night fury just stands there for a few, achingly long seconds, before it sprints off into the forest, tearing away from the camp at break neck speeds.

"well," ryker says, "guess it's gonna take us an entire day to get that dragon back."

viggo just smiles and tells him to be patient.

they wait in silence, and wait and wait. minutes go by, but just as ryker is about to ask what the hell they're waiting for, there's a chorus of blood curdling screams from the forest, followed by the unholy shriek of an angry night fury. there's a blast that lights up the trees, followed by more screams. then, it goes silent.

a little later, the night fury reappears from the forest. there's blood dripping from its maw, a fierce look in its eyes. it walks right up to viggo, and spits out a dismembered hand onto the ground in front of him.

Hfjone au where instead of kidnapping people for his reality show he accidentally discovers twitch and starts a stream and becomes the most popular twitch streamer ever. People love tuning in to watch forest man and his wacky antics. They love the “larp.” Twitch keeps trying to get him to come to cons he can never attend. People make wildly popular edits and gifs of him to share on stan twitter.

Instead of getting people to entertain him, he works to entertain people.

I’ve been debating what the funniest, most fan-fury-inducing thing any hypothetical Silmarillion movie/show could do would be, and I think the answer is to condense the sons of Feanor. There are so many of them! And they aren’t particularly individualized! You could just… cut a few. Who needs seven whole kinslayers? You get get it down to three or four, easy.
