Hey Geeks, Sorry to say that in the craziness of the house drama I missed our phone/internet bill. So, unless we have a minor miracle in the next 2 hours we'll be going offline indefinitely. Serenity of no reception. • • Friday night I drove down south, to the middle of the desert, with a group of friends. We slept in a camping site far away from any city lights, under the millions of shining stars and Milky Way. As I lay in my sleeping bag, I could Barely tear my eyes away. Basking in the usually hidden wonders of the sky. Gasping with the crowd in excitement with every shooting start. • • At the break of dawn we embarked on a small hike up a mountain, and through the desert. Filling my lungs with fresh air, feeding my eyes with breathtaking, wide open views from up the mountains tops and down the valley ways. • • I allowed my brain to envelop in the quiet, tranquil calm of the desert. The gradient of browns, yellows and oranges. I gave way for my body to just lead me through the trails, seeking comfort in the movement of my muscles and limbs. • • Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t turn to my phone for distraction, because there was no service. It forced me to go offline and just enjoy nature, the great outdoors. I let the beautiful views and stillness seep through my eyes, ears and nose and into my body and soul, washing over me and neutralizing my worries, fears and nerves. • • • How about you? The Time Has Come

Alright this has been a long time coming but this is the day I finally call it quits. If any of y’all talked to me for a minute you’d know I’m not the type to half ass something. I always made it clear that when I rp I don’t want it to be sporadic or take forever to get back to my rp partners. I’ve never minded others being like this but it’s just something that personally stresses me out. So it’s time I stop stretching myself thin and beating myself up over not being on. Rping here has been great and Marcus was such an amazing character to play but my life is just too hectic right now to where I rarely have time to sit down. And I don’t want to keep trying to divide that already thin time among friends, family and video games.  That being said I will be around on my main account @lynnyburd to rp privately should anyone wish or (and this I hope happens) if someone else takes up Marcus. It’s made me sad it’s been almost a year since I’ve started this blog and I haven’t seen one other Marcus. If someone happens to come along and see this please contact me and I’ll give you all of my icons and any resources I have. You guys have all been great and this whole experience has been awesome. I’ll be unfollowing rp blogs I’ve followed with this side to keep my dash clean but know I wanna talk to y’all- so please hit me up over my main or randomly on Skype. I’m changing how I use socials. For months I’ve been struggling with social media, part of my income and work comes from managing social accounts, I spend too much time on them, and I let one or two negative comments affect me way more than sometimes thousands of good ones. I’ve been thinking all these things for a while, but have been unable (or unwilling) to disconnect from something I’ve put time and effort into. Disconnected by @emmagannonuk is one of the main factors that’s given me the push I needed. So what have I done? ✅ I’ve hidden all my TikToks - I mainly used Tiktok to talk about books and Taylor Swift, but when I shared anything about my personal life, that’s what seemed to go viral, and I fed it. I opened up my personal life to comments from strangers and suffered because of it. I can’t change how others use social media, but I can change how I let it affect me. And for me to do that, it’s not feeding the beast. ✅ My Twitter is now for my research only - I was so tempted to delete it altogether, but the communities surrounding academia on there have always been so supportive and help me in my research, I’m simply changing it. I’ll only engage with the tweets on there that help me achieve my professional goals. I’ll keep using LinkedIn to do this too. ✅ I’m going to focus more on creating for me - on creating content that makes me happy, and I’m proud of. I’m not going to aim to post three times a week, once a week, or even once a month. I’m going to create and share when I want to on here. And this platform will be my creative outlet. This platform, which has always been so positive, will let me share the bits of my life I want to. All of these decisions and actions have been a long time coming, something I should have done along time ago, but a breakdown caused by less than 140 characters, a reminder of a philosophy from a friend, and this book have given me the push I need. hilaryduff: Carving out time for yourself proves difficult once you become a mom. There is so much guilt wrapped around it that when you actually take the time to do it, it can be unenjoyable or not relaxing!  I really struggle with the heavy pull you feel to go back to my kids and do everything for them. I have decided to make that part of my life a priority. I love my family and kids more than anything but I also love myself and need to honor my personal needs (outside of work)! They have gotten smaller and smaller and so they can definitely be met! Be kind to yourself. Stretch. Write. Read. Dance. Walk. Shop. Watch. Do you and do it everyday. Ask for help.
