the level at which people are misusing the term "Never Again" in the far left absolutely infuriates me.

"Never Again" doesn't refer to the idea of no more genocides -- unfortunately people are evil and corrupt and seek scapegoats and destruction, there were genocides in the years following the Holocaust, there were genocides 10 years ago, there are multiple genocides going on as we speak

"Never Again" means we as Jews will pay attention to the warning signs, will not mindlessly allow antisemitism to fester and take over our communities, we will fight back. it means we will be proud. it means we will not let you hate us without a word of refusal.

"Never Again" is a warning for us, it is a reminder that what happened then can happen now -- is happening now. The Far Left doesn't get to use it against us. You don't get to turn our tragedies into hate-speech and antisemitic rhetoric.

You must fundamentally recognize that it is not above the government to use a medical emergency as a fraudulent pathway to acquire more control and power over its citizens.

They did it with Covid — a virus with a 99.7% survival rate. Yet they restricted your freedoms, your movement, even labelled your speech misinformation and banned it. They coordinated with media, social media companies, other governments, and the private sector to accomplish their objectives. They made it so if you don’t comply, you can have your license revoked, be fired from your job, and have your income and livelihood threatened. Then they restricted viable treatments in favor of an experimental dangerous vaccine, and told you that if you don’t inject it, you can’t get your freedoms back. They said the only way to get back to “normal” was to follow their orders and inject this dangerous drug.

Does that sound like a government that cares about its people? Does that sound like it happened in the most free nation on earth? 🤔

In response to Covid, Biden, determined to not repeat Obama's mistake, did a probably-too-large-in-retrospect stimulus that lead to a sharpish bout of inflation, the result of which is that it seems increasingly likely he's going to lose the election because everyone thinks the economy sucks. The obvious lesson for politicians to learn from this is "be like Obama, not like Biden".

So perhaps you can see why the "vibescession is real because of [trend that dates to 2010]" takes fill me with despair.

Just had a lovely conversation with my mother 😒

If you didn’t know, my mom has entered para menopause, which has made living with her borderline insufferable. But it’s also made HER living insufferable. My dad and I like to joke that she’s the 1% of the 1% because she almost always experiences the side effects listed on medication, even if they’re rare. And it seems menopause has put her body into overdrive and she’s experiencing every symptom in the book. Hot flashes? Aching body parts? Brian fog? Weight gain? Mood swings? Itchy cooch (tmi probably but just get my point across)? Check em all.

All this to say that she has not been doing so well. And it truly makes me wonder how we have gone millennia without women speaking up about it (oh wait no they probably did but men just thought they were crazy because fuck em). It’s only been within the last few decades that people have started to talk about menopause as an actual condition.

Which brings me to the conversation. I made the mistake of bringing up Israel & Palestine (it was related to something else that’s not important). She of course asked why I’m on Palestine’s side. And look, I know I talk a big game on here, but I’m not very good when it comes to arguing irl. I can never seem to win an actual debate against my parents (because they’re always right and they know better 🙄). She accused me of ignoring the Israeli side, and I really didn’t want to open that can of worms, so I dropped it. But apparently I set something off in her because she accused me of only hearing one side of the story, not just on that conflict, but on political & social issues in general.

And to make her point, she brought up how unfair it is that women like her (going through menopause) are denied hormones that would make it possible for them to function normally again (ie without constantly being hot, tired, annoyed, in pain, etc.), but that “men who want to become women” are allowed to get hormones.

I straight up left (and she of course accused me of getting offended way too easily and that I need to grow a backbone and I’m biased and blah blah blah)

So, like everyone in my generation, I’m making a post and letting the internet decide.

Has she just been drinking the conservative kool aid, or is there actual merit to her argument? Is hormone therapy really that discriminatory?
