これは40年ぶりの革命なのか!?

この情報がポストされたのが四月の一日ということでエイプリルフールのジョークだと笑い飛ばした人も少なくなかったのではないだろうか？

KROMのニューモデル『krom______________』に滑り止めがないのである…

もちろん過去に滑り止めを省略したけん玉がなかったわけではないが、それとこれとは話が違う。

80年代に新間英雄氏によって考案されたデザインを基本に何も足し引きされずに進化してきた競技用けん玉のど真ん中からついに滑り止めを廃したモデルが発売されたのだ。

ここ数年、そのシェイプにおいて認定けん玉のクローンから大きく逸脱する流れはあったがここまで大胆かつ「あり」な新機軸の提示は注目に値するのではないだろうか？（これがKROMのスタンダードになると決まったわけではないんですが…）

その一方で

GrainTheoryから新シェイプGT2の登場である

全体的にサイズアップ。BH、KAモデルのサイズ感がこれからのスタンダードということか？

このちょっと大きくなる感じがここ数年のスケートボードの幅がインチアップしてる流れと似ていて面白い。

そうなるとKROMの滑り止め無しという選択は80~90年代にスケートボードが魚型から俵型（アメリカ人はこれをどう表現するんだろう？）に大きく変化していった流れを感じさせるのではないだろうか。

けん玉シェイプ革命の嚆矢となるか？あるいはいつの間にか元に戻るのか？どちらも小さな変化ではあるが、その波紋は大きな転換点を孕んでいるのかもしれない。
