July: Green Redux (+ Blue Redux)

Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries (s3e1, "Death Defying Feats") / Essie Davis as Phryne Fisher

This mint-green dress has a very interesting construction: it is called a tabard dress, with sleeve-frills attached by ropes of beads, worn over a base dress of the same material as the "sleeves." When it was exhibited in 2015, it was described as "1920’s green silk net with luminescent sequins and bugle beads"--which sounds like it may be a vintage piece.

This episode is quite the source for Miss Fisher costumes, as it also included Dot's orange dress and Phryne's midnight blue dress with the lace overlay. I'm also including a nice shot of the crescent-shaped hairpiece--from the front, as the side shot is out of focus.

18. If you wrote a sequel to rust red, bruised purple, lazarus green, what would it involve?

ideally i'd rewrite the fic in it's entirety lol. it's a concept i want to expand on someday but it feels very complete? if i were to write a sequel i think i'd do it from dick's perspective, and start it sort of concurrently with lazarus green--following him figuring out that jason is jason, and then catching up with the actual confrontation.

jason himself at this point is... not going to be very open to reconciliation. he just 'revived' his anger in a sense, and the anger itself is a funky little mixture of mostly self-loathing. but dick's the guy in front of him, so dick's the guy he's gonna lash out at.

dick's characterization is relatively fanony in this fic, so i think he'd probably keep trying to reach out, but jason's going to be very resistant about it. potential resolutions:

hurt no comfort, something that escalates to jason shooting dick and telling him to fuck off forever. things never resolve between them and it probably shatters jason's weird unspoken truce with bruce, too. misery all around.

dick manages to get through to him, somehow? forced teamup on an op gone south, something that jars jason into remembering that he actually cares about dick grayson the person (personally i think he does <3 jason views him as his cool infallible brother forever and ever)

something something another fic about the batarang scar. where dick finds out. 100% guaranteed to make things worse in this case, though

in general. lazarus green ends on a 'things are about to get worse/messier' note, so the sequel would reflect that, and i think it'd have to be fairly long to actually reach a more hopeful resolution.

19. If you wrote a spin-off of redux, what would it involve?

long multichapter fic focused on the batfam's grief for jason, their attempts to locate his body, navigating his second death, etc. crime alley's response to his disappearance. i think the penguin actually... did well enough hiding jason that the bats don't know who killed him.

redux is in a weird wfa-adjacent space in terms of what the batfam's relationships are like (as in, i painted them over with a happy everything is fine brush--at worst their disagreements last like, a week,) but i still think jason would operate fairly independently. and so there's guilt, they let him do that.

a couple of people have asked for a fluff comfort follow-up so that's also an option. a sequel of them navigating his apparent ability to spontaneously resurrect after multiple months also? and i think they'd be extremely overbearing/clingy in a way that grates on jason and that could be an interesting mess to explore as well.

many options. redux is one of those fics that make you Think.

(it's also the rare case where i think i'd go with the movie's ending for utrh instead of the comics. jason's overall... mindset is different from the usual. because we're in wfa-land.)

20. If you wrote a prequel to lies of omission, what would it involve?

that period of a year or so after robin #182 (where tim gives jason a jla override code to get out of prison). i think all of this worldbuilding is in the fic already but this is where we have:

jason, essence, isabel, & liam really developing that weird little friendship bond the four of them have going on. and associated untitled hunting.

kyle rayner in his stalking era. jason rebuilding bridges with donna post-'shooting her with bob's gun in a fakeout betrayal' just so they can laugh at him together

jason also returns to gotham intermittently here!! something of a reconciliation with dick. meeting damian. working together.

unfortunately i think it'd end with the suicide mentioned in ch 14 which is.... not a particularly cheery way to go out. alas.

for something shorter, i'd probably just focus on jason's initial return to gotham after the untitled hunting, and realizing dick is being crushed under the weight of the batman mantle and choosing to help out. the dick & jason reconciliation is important to me.

could be a fun little case fic while establishing what those character dynamics are like :] i do like lies of omission's au-verse a lot but i don't have any solid plans to write anything else for it at the moment... there's a half formed concept for a cass-centric sequel but i don't know where i'd actually want to go with that at the moment.

Remnant's Green Lantern

After Sunsprite and her friends defeated Salem, she looks to the statues of her father Jaune, and mother Ruby. Built following the events of 2nd Great War. With the Crocea Mors of the Arc, Sunsprite used her silver eyes to seal Salem for good. But knew she has to be ready for the next time she appears.

Though it might take years, Sunsprite needs to be ready. To train future generations of huntsmen and huntresses. To protect Remnant.

"Mom, Dad, you can rest now. The war may be over, but Salem will return. But please, don't just support me, but also everyone else who want to do good in Remnant." Sunsprite pleaded.

As Sunsprite prays in front of the memorial statues, a Green light streaks from the sky like a shooting star. As the light reaches closer to Sunrpite, she looks after it shines behind her.

As she sees the light, it was a ring. Radiating to her presence.

The ring then began to speak. "Sunsprite Arc. Brave and heart of gold. Heiress of Clan Arc. Daughter of Jaune Arc and Ruby Rose. Because of your bravery and encouragement to defeat Salem, your duty is far from over."

Sunsprite blinks as she hears the voice. Confused for how the ring was speaking to her. As if she is chosen for a new destiny.

"What duty?" Asked Sunsprite. "What am I chosen for?"

"You have been selected to become a warrior of will and protection. What lies ahead is not just Remnant, but also beyond it." The ring adds. "With this ring, you will be granted the power of the Infinite and Unbound. You will become a Green Lantern."

Sunsprite stood still as she held her hand out. Not sure why she felt the need to accept this. But maybe she wants to do more good. Maybe something more to help others beyond Remnant. She placed her father's sword back into her sheath on the side of her waist.

Then the ring illuminates a light beam formed around Sunsprite. The beam lifts her off the ground. Pulling her into the sky. It startled her at first before wondering where her journey would take her next. She is now a Green Lantern of Remnant.

The ring slipped into her finger after floating towards her. Her armory became enhanced in green with a bodysuit. Her Boots are also green. And her Rose Emblem given to her by her mother was glowing in green light.

Then the scripts that were written in a planetary language was translated to English. Sunsprite reads like it was a poetry to recite.

"In brightest day, in darkest night. No evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might! Beware my power! Green Lantern's light!"

Oh, Bob Mackie. You're so wacky.

In case you haven't guessed, this is from a sketch parodying Gone with the Wind, and this dress is a parody of the famous "curtain dress" from that movie. But with the curtain rod left in!

And then Tiffany Haddish wore it to the 2018 MTV Movie Awards! Not sure whether it's the original or a copy. If it's the original, it seems to be in good shape, and if it's a copy, then they did a great job of reproducing the details accurately.

k-707 ( 2025 EDITION ) RELEASE - FIRST WAVE

It’s finally here! Well, the first part of it—because let’s be real, this beast of a project is too massive to drop all at once ( unless we suddenly gain the ability to compress/expand time ) ;)

For now, we’re rolling out the first wave of k-707, covering :

Yes, we know ... you want more—but trust us, this is already a lot. The rest will come soon-ish ( don’t ask for dates, we’re not EA ) and as we say again and again, this is a work in progress, time for us to understand some more things with blender managing vertex painting and so on ;)

We replaced, reshaped, optimized, and obsessed over hundreds of trees and plants. Everything is optimized for directX11 ... Now, in theory, all should move right, look right, and fit right :D If you encounter a purple question mark on this new release, just send us a message. We'll see this together :)

Do not be surprised, some trees ( very very few ) are not yet modified ( -> I think about topiaries ) and some others have been fully replaced ( such as the ugly majestic and royal palms in base game )

Never forget this is still a work in progress and some changes will be done later ;)

As soon as we do some minor modifications and checks, we'll release a SECOND wave ( which should be very soon indeed )

Later ( End of February ) a THIRD and final wave will be released ...

Installation & Warnings

Each Expansion has 2 folders : one for plants, one for trees

The base game is split into 4 folders : 2 lots + 2 debug

Expansions with minimal greenery ( City Living, University, Get2Work ) are in single folder named k-hippie-k707-multi-greeny-2025

Do NOT mess with the folder structure unless you love chaos. If you merge files and something breaks, that’s on you. We won’t be able to troubleshoot Frankenstein mods ... More information on our website or into the previous post ;)

Final Notes

K-707 isn’t perfect ( yet ) :D We’re still tweaking, improving, and fixing things. We are aware some textures and styles need to be refined/modified. It will be done in time. But this is already a massive upgrade. So, enjoy your lusher, greener, better-integrated Sims world—and if you spot a tree acting weird, just pretend it’s haunted until we fix the green :D

Remember the k-mods are still and always free. Thanks to freely give a little something if you can. This is a massive piece of work and so, a massive piece of time ;)

VVQB'S Default Skintone 2025

Okay so these are just these skins I did a good three years ago with the following changes:

Stripped it down to the essentials - S1-4, a pale swatch, and a darker swatch

Retained S0, S1, and S5 skintone colors

Replaced S2 with the S2.5 tone from @serabiet's original skins and made the face changes the same as the edits I did of io's skins

Made S3 and S4 a little lighter than my old default, but still darker than standard Maxis. The previous s3 made blonde eyebrows disappear too much

Changed the alien skintone from green to mint [including the blue gums and tongue]

Added teeth from @microscotch's woohoo on the beach redux

added the tongue texture from @sixfootsims's moonfruit skinblend

Eye texture is also from io

The file contains

S1-S4 defaults

a pale skintone loosely based on trapping’s pale dust swatch, uses the same file as the 2021 version of this skin

a darker skintone based on the Castaway Stories dark skintone (uses the same package as @jawusa's edit)

In one of his prosthetic hands is held the Jewel of Khaum, a sacred diamond mined from the walls of the chasm-city centuries ago, traditionally held in the possession of the Prince of Khaum in lieu of a crown or sceptre - the position Barrister has just taken

(Also, yeah, that weird patch near his left leg is because while his other leg had to be amputated from the thigh, that one got cut off from a few inches below the knee, leaving the prosthetic looking ragged and stitched on. He is also, if you’ll notice, blind in one eye

In addition, his grapple-hand, the one he’s using to clutch the Jewel of Khaum (which you might be able to see if you squint a bit) is only one of the settings of his prosthetic arms, others including - regular hands, energy blasters, red-hot sword blades, and tiger claws

Lush Redux

Went back to give Lush a bit of a visual update as well, since I felt like she was my weakest Materria dragon. Mostly wanted to change the shape of her legs but also lean more towards a horror aspect. More info below!

While Twikinzy's witchcraft leans towards the alchemy side, Lush is more involved with hexes and spell-weaving! Her stitch-based magic can be used to protect and harm, enchanting her friends with wards while debilitating her enemies with curses!
