Hah! Me? A constantine? Dread the thought.
Guess you could call me an associate, or sumthin like that anyways.
As for the chainsaw, I'd rather you not. As annoyin as alternate versions of you can be, id rather not deal with the repercussions of messin with timelines now, would you?
Another john? My goodness I know there's infinite timelines but we have to stop running into eachother like this!
-@celestiiosapien
Far as ‘m concerned, luv. ‘M th’ only John.
Though, wouldn’t mind ‘aving a meeting of th’ others. They can mingle, while I spring them with me chainsaw.
Anyways. Who might you be? ‘Nother Constantine? Or Constantine associated?

Got brainrot about my new tabletop character, Ibb (short for Isabelle). She's a Shifter with were-boar lineage, and I love her. She's a little cranky, but smart as a whip and making do in a Fantasy Steampunk/Noir city as a courier. And acquirer of magical reagents. Plus I get to playtest a funky Wizard archetype that a buddy of mine put together, called a Guttermage. Real fun concept.

So I've been sketching and sketching and this is the closest so far to what I'm aiming for. Also learning the ins and outs of a new brush I made. It's neat as a pseudo-watercolor brush, and when it behaves (generally) the way I anticipate, it's AWESOME for blocking out lights and darks.
When it doesn't behave, it's a little frustrating. throws the values way off.
Anyway! Just wanted to drop these and gush a little. Might see more of her in the future, might not.

// This is my biggest account so I’m posting my thoughts here.
A) ‘Your character has said X about X character which means you’re saying it about the mun!!!’
Roleplay. Doesn’t apply. To the mun. Yes, mun Ren said that she’s like the character and the character’s problems reflect what she’s going through. Yes, Mun Ren has spoken on the angst that she has her character go through.
But, that doesn’t fucking mean?? that what other people’s characters say about the character and to the character??? apply to real life???
What the fuck?
B) ‘Angst with no substance is bad writing!’ / ‘Too much angst and then constantly getting X muse comforted is Sympathy farming!’
I write a FUCK TON of angst. There’s about a 55% chance I’m writing angst at any given moment. 75% of what I write for Beau is angst. 95% of what I’m writing for Ouroboros is angst.
There’s always a reason for that angst— MUCH LIKE HOW MOST OF THE ANGST IN MUNS ACCOUNT IS CONSEQUENCES FOR REN’S OWN ACTIONS. Cause, effect. It’s not without substance! It’s meant to cause the character to pause!
Hell, it’s why anons went to one of my characters to see if they could snap Mun’s muse out of the muse’s own cycle! This is the MUSE’S doing, she’s causing it to happen to herself!
As for me? Do I like having lighter moments with my characters? Absolutely! Do most of my muses go through hell and back or are going to go through hell and back? Also Absolutely!
A ton of angst with the character’s storylines and actions and then others comforting the character ≠ the sympathy baiting.
It’s human connection. It literally is in history. People go through horrible shit all the time and get comforted afterwords, even if they’re in the wrong. People get trapped in a loop of self destruction sometimes, but still get support from people around them. It’s how life is.
The fact of the matter is that some people just like writing darker storylines. Some people like writing villains, some like writing tragedies.
Some people like writing characters that ARENT SUPPOSED TO BE LIKABLE! Wowza! shocker!!!
Don’t believe me?? here are some examples.
@/hexandpoziofnovapolis - Mun behind Hex and Pozi did a WONDERFUL job of characterizing a mysoginistic asshole with internalized homophobia towards the beginning of the toolbox of novapolis account, this account is just a continuation of that character!
@/guttermage - A version of John Constantine who’s an utter ass and a constant drunk, rude to everyone around him in true Hellblazer fashion! 10/10 we love the brit!
@/mank1ndsbadhab1t - A LITERAL DEMON WHO KILLED A CAT BECAUSE HIS CRUSH DOESNT LIKE HIM BACK.
@/cloudedthoughtsofmyflame - our beloved Shark mun Reki showcased both an ignorant brother ( @/gothamite-journalist-in-french) and a horrible ex of @/gothamite-firefighter-rr, both of which were not supposed to be likeable! Hell, they outright put Reki’s muse in danger!
@/dark3st-d3sires - LITERALLY WILLIAM AFTON. Serial killer. Child murderer. Kidnapper. WILLIAM. AFTON.
@/lexcorp-luthor - Lex. Luthor. The dude who keeps trying to kill superman. Need I say more?
@/court--of--owls - lest we forget our favorite stalker, Mun has characterized the court of owls wonderfully as an all seeing entity. You’re not supposed to like the muse. In fact, you’re supposed to fear them.
And last, but certainly not least..
@/jokerwithcrowbar - Self explanatory.
It’s kinda like how people like reading about True Crime. Or murders. Or the darker areas of life.
My point with all of that is that angst isn’t bad— you’re just in the wrong area. If you don’t like it, don’t expect the writer to cater towards You and then get mad when they don’t.
Just.. find another space to go to?? Maybe?? Or!! Here’s an Idea!!
DON’T FOLLOW PEOPLE’S CHARACTERS YOU DON’T EVEN WANNA SEE ON YOUR DASH.
Especially if the mun behind the account you’re hate following is a FUCKING MINOR.
From my understanding (and observations, but feel free to correct me if I am wrong), Dc Rpblr is a space where minors are abundant. And so are adults. We’ve learned to coexist with one another in a safe manner. Minors put down boundaries and expect adults to respect them. Adults do the same. We get along.
This?? This isn’t just unsafe, it’s a dangerous disregard for not just that mun but muns around that mun.
I can understand constructive criticism, but there is a line that you shouldn’t cross.
Learn some reading comprehension, logic and sense. Empathy, while you’re at it.
If you don’t wanna see something? Block. Move on.
Easy.
As for Roy mun— you can block their ass while they’re on anon.
Do it the next time they send an ask in.
-Mun Bee.
when you say those things about ren it's like you're saying them about mun
https://www.tumblr.com/stargazertheofficial/786936282821623808/mun-why-do-you-give-ren-so-many-problems-and?source=share
No it absolutely fucking is not. And i never said anything aside from Roy was done dealing with her for his own sake ic. Kindly fuck off with this rhetoric anymore asks about this will be deleted

Villain: Siirdak, Ambassador of the Hollow Lyceum
The ephemeral powers are woven through this world like gilded thread, waiting for my hand to shape them into a grand tapestry. For you Insect, they are more like a spider’s web: invisible, unbreakable, thoroughly beyond your understanding
Adventure Hooks:
While traveling across the land, the party hear a great shout from above as a figure falls out of the sky and hits a nearby hill at a great and lethal speed. From what they can recover from the splattered remains, this figure was an older man dressed in gilded but solidly crafted armor and a minor fortune in jewelry. Do they take this literal and gory loot drop? Bury him? Cart the remains to the nearest town? This choice matters quite a lot, as once they get to the next town they’ll discover the body belonged to the local count, a man well beloved by his subjects and minor hero of the last war who just flew through on Are the party praised as dogooders for returning the body? Or seen as vicious robbers when someone recognizes the bloody trinkets they’re trying to hawk. Regardless, they’ll have to contend with the count’s family, who are very intent on finding out the circumstances of the count’s passing.
Having heard of the party’s good deeds, a woman of the court by the name of Elegaine request’s their service and digression. She’s begun to be hounded by rumors of frequent indiscretions with a newly arrived ambassador, despite the fact that she couldn’t have been in any of the places she was purportedly seen. This looming scandal threatens to ruin her reputation and derail her plans to propose to a charming minister, so she needs a set of eyes uninvolved in the politics of the court to investigate for her.
Just as the party is about to avert some grand disaster, save the village, and earn a reputation as heroes, some ponce in gold and silks strolls up, waves his hands, and diffuses the whole situation with an ostentatious show of magic. Disappearing into an elegant carriage before they can find out who he is, the party is faced with a decision: track down this glory-thief or hit the road and try to find ANOTHER chance at fame and fortune.
Setup: A sinister figure by the name of Siirdak has ingrained himself into the local court, claiming to be the representative of a powerful but mostly forgotten group of mages called “The Lyceum of Consonance” who offer their services to the great and the good. This infiltrator started with simple parlor tricks and elevated to elaborate gifts, using sorcery to brute-force the problems of the nobility with little care for the practical or magical fallout of his actions. No power-mad arcanist bent on conquest or reshaping the fundamental forces of reality, Siirdak has more venial aims: influence, luxury, control, and uses his overwhelming arcane power to seize upon them at every opportunity.
Should the party make an enemy of this mage, they can expect the halls of power to become increasingly hostile as Siirdak whispers in the ear of the many who’ve become indebted to him. Only if they move against him openly will the ambassador use his sorcery, and then only in subtle ways like blinding charms and dangerous geases, though he’s just as likely to get them labeled outlaws.
Background: Siirdak started life as a petty guttermage called Simon Pickets, the half elven bastard of a highelf scholar who inherited a little of his father’s power and all of his overbearing pride. Having no patience for an academic life or the slow pace of life in an elven settlement, Simon went to human lands to carve out a life for himself with the magic he’d learn. Hubris and sorcery don’t mix well, and after using magic to charm one too many merchants out of their wares Simon was eventually forced on the run. In his desperate flight, he carved open a portal to the astral plane and ended up discovering the remains of a great archive and laboratory constructed by a circle of long dead mages.
The Sages of the Lyceum of Consonance built many wonderful things, escheresque canals from which marble halls sprung, monuments pulled from the dreams of visionary architects, libraries of thought and imagination and possibility that eclipsed anything that could be held on a page. While most of their works are now faded, the greatest of them endures: The Summation, a crystal sphere to which the Consonate Sages linked their brilliant minds, allowing each member of their order to share in the discoveries and understanding of their fellows.
Siirdak now possesses the sphere, along with a panoply of treasures he pulled from the ruins in the ensuing years, all of which allow him to appear to be a far greater magician than his talents actually allow. Should the party be able to wrest these tools from him, or better yet reveal his criminal past, they may be able to uproot him from the place of privilege and influence he’s carved among the nobility.
Further Adventures:
Clearing up matters with the Count will require the party to find his missing horse, which he was last seen riding through town on the morning before his most disasterous fall. Finding it won’t be too hard, given that it is a magical “Dream Horse” gifted to the Count by the court’s new mage, and folks outside the village have indeed reported seeing a sparkling steed trotting through their fields; with tack and saddle but no rider to be seen. As it turns out, this animal is infact less a “Dream horse” and more a “Horse of his dreams”, a spirit drawn from the astral plane put into the shape of a horse by way of Siirdak’s magic. Said spirit is pure of heart but dumb of ass, and has only a notional idea of what a horse actually is....so when the Count felt as if he was flying while taking a gallop across the countryside, the spirit decided to oblige him, heading up into the sky in a way that no equestrian ( no matter how prepared) could hope to handle. Demonstrating that the sparklesteed can fly and is sentient ( though dumb as a bag of hammers) should be enough to clear the party’s names.
When Lady Elegaine turned down Siirdak’s flirtatious overtures, the mage considered ensorcelling her, but decided on a more easily obtainable, though equally fucked up course of action: Hiring on a courtesan to be his companion and weaving enchantments about her to look like the object of his affections. For her part, Iridna the courtesan is quite pleased with the arrangement. She’s lived a hard life that's left her both physically scared and emotionally hardened, and getting to be the companion of a powerful man who treats her like the finest of ladies suits her just fine. Iridna is a fairly good actor and may misdirect the party’s investigation of Lady Elegaine’s doppleganger, though she won’t hesitate to act in defense of her newly cushy lifestyle.
Siirdac is a competent enough conman to know that claiming to be an all powerful wizard himself isn’t going to fly for long, thus his bluff that the Lyceum are still around and that he is merely their intermediary. Being the “Ambassador” gives him lots of perks, but lets him sidestep undelivered promises and magical malpractice as the failings of his employers, all the while cultivating the reputation as a sympathetic and loyal retainer which fits neatly into the worldview of most of his targets. He often “consults” with the Lyceum by producing a crystalline orb (The Summation) and filling the room with whispers in a nonsense language. Such a “consultation period” may be the best time to steal the magical focus from him, though a party may be surprised that they’re not actually holding a communications device after they’ve laid hands on it.
If cornered, Siirdac has no qualms about teleporting back to the Lyceum and abandoning his current plans, likely devising some kind of spiteful retaliation against the party before finding somewhere new to set down roots.

creative writing and stuff is actually a lot of work when i think about all the energy and detail and associations all taking place within a primarily mental space is wild
because it can even affect the material universe from across the divide between physical and metaphysical stuff (i’m not nearly high enough to feel as though there is no divide and they are one and the same, that’s what shrooms are for) even if it’s in a really localized, private way, like doing worldbuilding and designing custom backgrounds/feats/subclasses for a TTRPG homebrew campaign.
like just telling my friends about the ideas and their interest and enthusiasm for the concept (Harry Potter Meets Saints Row, guttermage turf wars and magical Adderall-peddling to University students during Dead Week) gave me motivation to start designing some of this stuff even though we’re only 3/4ths the way done at most through the campaign we’re currently playing.
on the one hand, it would be more convenient if i could simply reabsorb the jolts of inspiration and then allocate them towards the current campaign so i could get that out of the way before our next session, rather than generating content for a campaign we won’t begin until the start of next year.
and while it would be nice to develop a bit more control over my creative energy, i can’t be too frustrated because i’m glad my mind works this way sometimes, and that’s been a difficult thing to acknowledge for myself. being creative is fun, if distracting and oddly exhausting if you’ve developed an overreliance on this particular form of dissociation via artistic endeavor as i have. are these sentences too long? i think they might be too long. sentences are not like spaghetti. you can’t just twine sentences around a fork and then eat the coiled bundle of pasta in one delicious spiral of carbohydrates and SAUCE.
like in between that last paragraph and this one, i wrote what might be the first draft of a poem, and this post is something i started writing on and off while writing up the homebrew stuff i was initially talking about. three layers deep of imaginative tangents. i need to relearn and figure out how to direct my attention towards pragmatic stuff too. i think i binge on (re)creative writing because it doesn’t even have to be good, and there’s basically no negative outcomes aside from the fact it contributes to my assorted panoply of dysregulatory influences.
i think back on the number of conversations and hangouts and parties i’ve been involved in while as high as this and i have memories of conversing with people, but i question the veracity of those memories now because how would anyone have a conversation with me while my mind is doing this? like i understand in practice that external stimuli such as personal interaction would reroute my attention and subsequent cognitive (alleged) processes, but it’s still incredible to think that normally i have enough of an attention span not to get lost in thought halfway through an admittedly overly-long sentence.

Solomon practice ideas
So i’ve lately been brainstorming new practices ideas for Solomon Academy, none of these are final. especially the names.
Geomancy: Geomancy is about the flow of anima through space, by creating complex diagrams and patterns over a large area the Geomancer diverts this energy to create spell. It’s all very clockwork precision and based on repeating patterns.
Chronomancy: It’s all about the flow of time, at least at higher levels. Lesser chromomance work with the perception of time. They can affect individuals or areas.
Oneiromancy: The magic of dreams, not only seeing into people’s dreams and manipulating them, but taking things from dreams into the real world.
Seeking: Seekers are all about finding lost things and reclaiming them, they dive into the abyss and make a simple pact: Serve me and you can return to the world.
Dromomancy: Dromomancy is the magic of roads and nomadism, Dromomancers can always find their ways around, move in ways others cannot, be unimpeded by obstacles and find good fortune on their travel. Dromomancers make pacts with the souls of roads and trails.
Echomancy: One of the less thought out, it deals with repeating patterns, amplifying, reducing and redirecting them.
Shadow magic: I really want a better name. It’s the magic of evasion and undetection, it about getting past things and leaving no trace.
Identity Magic: This magic focus on perception and identity, altering how the practitioner is seen by others, and changing who’s who on a cosmic level.
Mechanomancy: It’s the technomancy of the 20th century, less about computers and more about the power of engines and physical tech.
Soultrapping: It’s about trapping the essence of mystical beings and people into objects.
Guttermagic: Using the trash and refuse of others in a magical way.
Vodou: — Okay, I try not to dig into RL religion, but here goes — Not the hollywood kind. It’s a community centered practice dealing with tribal spirits known as the Loa/Lwa, which have a familial relationship with vodou practitioners.
Deathless: It’s about shedding humanity, becoming a monster. Removing your heart and putting it in a box, grafting monster flesh into yourself.
Physics Magic: Something about changing how the laws of physics exist in an area or a person.
Collection: Based on finding historical artifact and using the inherent magic imbued by the faith and belief of people.
Gambler: It’s all about that chess game with death or the devil, rather than make a trade they make wagers.
Entropic Magic: The magic of rust and decay, it’s about controlling and redirecting the inevitable so that it benefits you.
Slayer magic: A magic based on conflict, the practitioner becomes the perfect hunter, empowering himself with trophies taken from their preys.
Beastlore: The art of dealing with mythical beast called Bygones. Bygones don’t really make deals, it’s all about understanding how to care for them like you would any beast.
So, what’s your thoughts? And anything I’m missing?
