I've been reflecting lately on how witchcraft went from being a practical and goal-oriented practice with some pagan elements to a spirit heavy approach to sorcery. There has been a strong push towards spirit relationships, which I think is great considering where witch culture started, but it feels like a push towards form over substance.
Everyone works with spirits now, which is great (but also something i think needs reflecting on why that is), but no one really wants to talk about what those spirits are anymore. Probably because it's a harder conversation to have, especially when we're all in our own little folk/trad craft silos

Okay we all heard about Gojo letting his guard down in the fight with Sukuna— the third time letting his guard down has led to his defeat. I’ve got some very jumbled thoughts about what I think Gojo’s biggest weakness is which isn’t arrogance (leading to him letting down his guard) but love (leading to him letting down his guard). The first time we see him let down his guard is with Toji. He’s exhausted and thinks he’s done his part. But why is he exhausted? Because he chose to stay and keep infinity on to show consideration for Riko— him showcasing love. When they get back, he only drops his infinity after Geto (someone he loves, however you view said love) says he worked hard. He’s arrogant, yes, but he lets his guard down (after keeping up his infinity in a way to show love) because someone he loves is basically like “okay you can relax now.” The next time we see him drop his guard, he’s once again exhausted. Why? Because he fought to protect all the people he loves all alone (“the people” being both sorcerers and non-sorcerers— he claims to love everyone in the airport and I believe he truly does see his role as a form of love for everyone; a protector). What truly catches him, though, is hearing the voice of someone he loves that he killer himself. He’s thrown back into remembering that love and complete disbelief at what’s happening. It catches him off guard. He’s defeated for love. How does the Sukuna battle play into this? This is much more of a half baked ramble but… he thought he couldn’t be hurt anymore. He thought he was able to save everyone he loves. He could finally mourn the body of Suguru, someone he loves. He didn’t have to die by Megumi’s hand, someone he loves. His pupils and colleagues, people he loves, would be safe from Sukuna. He loves fighting, he was going to show Sukuna how fighting is a form of love. He defeated him for his love of everyone, for his position of protecting those he loves. He lets down his guard. We don’t know if any of this is his inner monologue but that’s how I kind of see his ending in connection with the other times he gets caught off guard. Um. So yeah. Tldr; Gojo Satoru’s biggest weakness is love, the most twisted curse of all.

Quick sneak post at work--
Lucifer's sin: pride, developeding as a direct counterbalance to deep hurt
The pride not being an act by any means, no, but essentially existing to counteract the trauma, self doubt, self loathing, etc
Especially if his virtue before that point was humility

spn writers are like the kids in school with a bunch of toys and whenever you ask to play with them they say: "yeah but you have to play mY WAY." meanwhile they're dunking one toy in glue and throwing another across the room.

"...the next morning I was standing in the crooked stone street in front of his father’s shop, tossing pebbles up at his window.
When he stuck his head out, I said:
“Do you want to come down and go on with our conversation?” - The Vampire Lestat
This is Lestat courting Nicki. It sounds a lot like the scene where Armand comes for Louis in Paris, right? Throwing pebbles up at his window.
Then their conversation in the cafe about good vs evil sounds like a conversation Lestat and Nicki would have.
Those two scenes alone have me leaning toward Armand actively telepathically taunting Lestat, who may or may not be trapped in Paris at that point, with his interactions with Louis. Creating parallels between Nicki and Louis.
Then there is the line where Armand says something like a century ago, yesterday, what's time to a vampire when Louis asks him about Lestat. It sets off my suspicions.
Armand's entire approach to Louis at first, to me, seems like a Lestat/Nicki roleplay. A performance for an audience of one. A mockery of Lestat's love for Louis. A you may not love me but watch the one you love stumble right in, but this time Lestat will be forced to witness the ultimate end. Armand is a gremlin after all and what is a century to a vampire to exact revenge.
And it doesn't detract from the relationship that eventually forms between Louis and Armand. It's just that at first Armand has history with Lestat and it would be about him and their past, until it's not...but then it is...
Anyway, my point is I think we've been given hints that Armand is in contact with Lestat while he romances Louis. Either Lestat is in Paris like in the books or Armand's taunting him through the vampire hive.
Or those moments could not be hints at all but just the writers picking pieces from the books. I don't know just a thought.

husk and cats and hats--some thoughts
i'm kinda sold that husk hates cats so much because while alive as a young magician he opted to try pulling cats out of hats instead of rabbits (contrary to literally every single word of advice from his mentors) but it went terribly
now his greatest shame of pulling cats out of hats in his early years as a magician remains a phantom that will follow him as some inherent truth about his existence until the minute his soul is destroyed, which is interesting because it's by far the least grievous sin he'd have committed in his life but it's probably one of the first: arrogance, pride
with his cowardice, who knows if he ever acknowledged that shame or if he ever admitted those mentors were right rather than either begrudgingly swapping to rabbits in silence or just dropping hat tricks altogether. who knows if this act of dumb courage and learning for himself (and subsequent humiliation) was what set him on the path to never making those mistakes so publicly again, and why he rarely stands for his word when confronted by entities he perceives to be more powerful than himself.
i think there's something really interesting in him eventually reckoning with "i failed to listen and that made me a pussy and maybe that's ok because i can listen now," especially considering his unwilling role as the bartender (read: therapist) where he's really got no option other than to listen to others (with angel dust as a catalyst [hehehe])
alternate possibility: deathly allergic to cats.

Harry Potter's Finishing School for Errant Husbands.
(Nsfw, heavily implied sexual content)
Astoria Malfoy née Greengrass is the Head of a Magical Innovation and Design Thinking Department. She is the breadwinner of the family. A hardworking, smart, and passionate woman, loved by most. She is also done with her errant husband's behaviour. She is Harry Potter's newest client.
Draco Malfoy is a Trophy husband. He parties all night and sleeps all day. He's a spoilt trust fund baby, who wouldn't know responsibilities if it spanks his arse. He is the errant husband in training.
Harry Potter is Mr Harry to his preschool students and Master Harry to his clients' errant husbands. He is strict, he is also fun, but only when you aren't a naughty boy. He isn't going to be fun with Draco Malfoy for a very long time.

I'm sure this has occurred to someone else as well so I apologise if this is an old discussion. I know it breaks all the ghost rules we know but... what if Havers is dead and that glimpse we see of him leaving through the gates isn't just Cap's memory but the actual ghost of Havers? What if he's somehow different and doomed to just return to the gates every night? Maybe Cap sits by the window every night to nod his farewell? Maybe only he can see Havers? Maybe he hasn't told anyone else? Maybe the others have seen him as well but respectfully keep their distance cos it's between Cap and Havers? Just something about that gate has always been niggling at the back of my head

Realizing that traits I thought were neurotypical and average actually aren’t is something that still happens. I never realized how much of my vocabulary and phrasing and grammar and just speaking in general is from stuff I’ve read or watched.
The best example, as it is one of the most recent, is that I’ve stolen calling people (and animals) ‘dumdums/dumb dumbs’ (not particularly sure what the written version is, in all honesty, though I’m partial to dumdums) from my favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle— Donatello. Specifically from Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
I used to go around calling my friends and pets stupid or idiots, usually affectionately of course, but ever since watching RotTMNT I have switched to calling them dumdums. I didn’t even notice I had done this until today, while pacing around my kitchen and trying to decide if I should make myself hot chocolate. At which point I held an amazing jouska about this exact topic.
I’ve also realized that I can never switch back to stupid or idiot. Because I’ve now compared them to dumdums and honestly?? Dumdums rolls off the tongue better, it sounds better, it feels better in my mouth to say. It’s just the better word. It’s just better in general. So, uh, thank you Donnie. I’m keeping it.

Anyway
Another thought I had is, power tends to corrupt people
I find this interesting with Lucifer, cuz ... he's been in power in Hell for all of its history
And he doesn't seem corrupt (though I'm certain he's far from a perfect ruler)
I think it's interesting

In my ASOIAF AU, I see Euphemia and James's values/dynamic vaguely resembling that of Catelyn and Rob
With that in mind, I imagine Mia raising James with the value of 1. family 2. duty 3. honour

There is something about Louis having a loving mortal life with home and community and wanting desperately to return to that and Lestat never knowing a loving home or place to belong (that he can remain) and trying to create that in Louis but it being too much, too forced, too desperate. You can't make homes out of people and all that shite.

Okay half cooked pol thoughts
Cheng henian was friends with Xu Rongyuan’s dad Xu Fei (learned that his name is Xu Fei thanks to CN website) and xu fei had interesting history with Li Yansong but neglected to tell Xu Rongyuan for some reason.
Idk why but I think it would be funny (and not possible in canon probably) if Xu Fei left Cheng Henian and Li Yansong to babysit his 1 year old son and shenanigans happen or smth
