hey guys are we talking about how long grian wanted to team up with etho and how when they finally became a team they ended up so terribly intertwined in a task that was catastrophic to the server or are we glossing over that

and on another note, this guardian angel is his friend! sure, they've had their disagreements, and Grian may or may not have been the reason behind at least one of his deaths, but they were friends.

Jimmy, who spends the first span of his time with Grian commanding him to do things a guardian angel shouldn't, as if he still feels that urge from being red. Jimmy, who Grian is forced to reconcile with to draw back those urges.

and in hell is where Jimmy can't control him? of all places? it's as if we're still telling Jimmy he's good, as if dying as a red doesn't define him.

Jimmy who, after Grian talks to him, begins pointing out players laying down traps and hunting him. Jimmy who warns Grian of the imminent danger of the reds he would've worked alongside.

you know, i don't recall Grian reentering the nether after that.

i'm soooo normal about etho. i'm soooo normal about how he mixes blocks all haphazardly that come together to make a unique, eye-catching build. i'm so normal about how easy on the eyes his block choices are, despite the wild variations.

i'm so so normal about his inclusion of how light affects the colors around it. him making his mailbox centric by playing with the brightness that yellow naturally gives off, specifically in comparison to the dirty oranges, reds, and browns around it.

i'm so normal when he finishes projects and you realize it was better that he waited for that motive to strike again instead of forcing completion.

i'm normal about how he finds a way to include wacky little redstone contraptions (netherwart farm set off by eating around it, hello? hello?? almost like the netherwart hears the eating and hides. the allay–guardian farm. these little guys whizzing around and nipping items off the surface of the water) that maybe aren't the most efficient ever but they have personality.

what a genius. just such an intelligent guy. i'm normal about etho.

i'm really finding all the hate for the new update distasteful.

i think no matter what mojang delivers, there's always going to be a crowd who preach that mods could do it better, or mojang is getting lazy. they complain about the updates being lackluster or unappealing or downright terrible.

i think it's dramatic.

minecraft is a game that's been running for 13 years now. minecraft is a game that has such a strong sense of community in so many different forms. minecraft is a game about taking a world and molding it to suit you.

so we found creative ways to build things that weren't in the game originally. we made our own extra content. we joined groups and created communities. we found lookalikes—roses as tomato plants, a minecart as a chair, banners as mirrors—to fill in those little details.

and when that wasn't enough, we created mods. we programmed add-ons and used minecraft as a blueprint, because minecraft was never meant to be a world left untouched by the player.

what a lot of people seem to forget is that every new addition to minecraft is just a little more for the blueprint; adding a walk-in closet to the master bedroom, building a pantry in the kitchen, renovating the dining room with crown molding and a new paint job.

and you're not paying anymore for the game! you're getting all these world updates for free—even added on to your current worlds.

this content doesn't bring in something you absolutely needed beforehand. it richens the world. it details the blueprint.

and if you're unsatisfied, build onto it.

etho & xisuma's voices are so so different in a way that is so complimentary to each other? i don't know their collab in etho's latest episode (HC10 EP10) threw me for a loop.

often, i don't have the actual time to sit and watch an episode, so i'll listen to it while i'm doing something else. i love love love pulling up etho's videos just because i love his voice so much already—sort of gravelly, just excitable enough to not be boring, but not overly energetic.

xisuma's voice kind of sounds like what i imagine vanilla would sound like if it could talk. very smooth, plain, sweet. easy on the ears. so his vocals pairing with etho's was genuinely such an enjoyable listen.

i love this but also the fact that---much unlike the hermits---it is NOT family friendly over there.

so imagine the hermits do pass through, and all of the above is happening, but tack on the added element of the scoldings you just know would happen, or the jokes that the hermits would get to make; i could see them leaving it out of their videos, but the moment you head over to a DSMP member's POV... well, leave it to your imagination.

Grian going dead silent when someone curses, looking them in the eye and just staring. The few seconds of disturbed silence before someone clears their throat. They refrain from using inappropriate language around him at that point, mostly because what the hell was that?

I feel like there's a fair number of them who would ignore it to a certain extent.

Keralis, flirting with one of the members before they start getting too loose with their tongue. Politely asks them to stop (definitely showering them with praises and dumb little titles: princess, beautiful, etc. imagine the members' reaction to that alone).

Scar, who side-eyes half the things they say but often responds in kind. He makes innuendos and pretends he doesn't know it until someone brings it up, to which he exclaims, "get your mind out of the gutter!" His mind is also in the gutter. It's been there. Bonus the mixed signals when Scar inevitably starts taking his clothes off.

Tango, making up his own words and bewildering whoever he's hanging out with. The guy has redstone in his teeth---they're convinced he's slowly dying from poisoning and maybe that's why he's paying little mind to them. He would 100% influence them after some time, and suddenly you have the whole server (minus the hermits, who are used to Tango's peculiar dialogue) clapping "-ey" and "ificator" onto the back of a concerning amount of words.

Zedaph who doesn't give them time to even speak before he's whipping them into a lab or a self-made achievement that he keeps offering them a pumpkin for? The only curses heard happen behind closed doors, muffled as the crazy scientist himself fills a room with water, drops endermites in on them, and triggers redstone contraptions that just don't make sense, what is he doing with these?

the sheer impact these people would have on each other would be so entertaining to watch.

enough “dsmp goes to hermitcraft” aus. we have evolved past this. more “hermits are unwillingly dragged to dsmp through multiverse shennanigans and then refuse to leave”.

grian goes on a griefing spree on a server where that’s somewhat normalised, and when it’s pointed out to him that permadeath is a thing on this server and could he please stop his response is “no <3″. scar goes to las nevadas and within three hours is shirtless, legally its owner, and sat atop a throne of diamonds. he has kicked quackity out; fundy is a little bit in love. bdubs is unkillable, not because he’s good at pvp or anything but because whenever he’s hit nothing happens other than him making a noise like a squeaky dog toy. tubbo mentions darkly that it’d be nice to give techno a taste of his own medicine re: withers, and doc has a wither skull farm that produces ten quadrillion skulls an hour set up before anyone can blink. mumbo is… building, and attempts to work out what he’s building have produced largely incoherent answers but there are potatoes involved and they’re filling up the l’manburg crater. also everyone’s doors have been replaced by piston mechanisms. rendog has assigned himself as niki’s loyal knight and sworn servant, despite her repeated protestations that she wants neither of those things. everyone’s pets are upside down and there’s a sudden absence of nametags in anyone’s chests and pearl is looking extremely innocent. tango has set up a carnival right outside of kinoko kingdom, and ravagers are involved. technoblade tried to take etho in a pvp battle and lost, badly and embarrassingly.

just. the absolutely phenomenal villain decay of, within a week of them arriving, dream and techno going from the scariest thing anyone on the server can think of to just- eh.

people are still kind of wary of them, but also like… there’s a creeper trying to put two withers in a box above the prison, and succeeding. he’s got a mechanical arm because he fought a god and won. the bird boy has access to a creeper farm now, and his inventory is full of tnt. the lmanburg crater is entirely full of potatoes. the werewolf has developed a scottish accent, and tina is using him as an attack dog. tommy and the dude in the moss hoodie are eating dirt together by the handful. the minigames guy with the red eyes is riding a ravager like a horse. no one has beaten etho in combat yet. there is not a single animal the right way up within a 10k block radius of spawn. phil is investing in cryptocurrency. the server has bigger problems to worry about right now than an admin and a pvp god, okay??

has anyone else measured time by the Hermitcraft seasons?

i've been watching Hermitcraft since the sixth grade; for me it's been six continous years of keeping up with the hermits. after 2020, with covid completely skewing my perception of time, Hermitcraft was one of the only things that i really stayed caught on.

i watched Hermitcraft all throughout the pandemic, the end of junior high, and the beginning of high school... and i'm still watching it to this day, having graduated a few months ago. the funny thing to me is that i haven't really felt the passage of time until they end off a season. i don't really realize how long its actually been until the season finales come out, and it's always an, "oh shit, it's been that long?" kinda moment.

etho's bow's name (2 less inventory spots) has me in tears. why does it come off so passive aggressive. what did the bow and arrows do to him. we know this man loves his inventory space but... for someone who whiffs so hard all the time with his sword you would think he'd find the bow to be his best asset. very good use of inventory space.
