• The first time he sees MC in traditional attire (sari or sherwani), he actually goes speechless. Like, pauses mid-sentence. That kind of stunned.

• Secretly loves how the vibrant colors of Indian fashion contrast with his mostly dark palette, he even lets MC convince him to wear something festive once (begrudgingly… but he liked it).

• Is fascinated by classical Indian music. The instruments, the depth, especially if MC sings or dances to it. He’ll silently watch with intense admiration.

• He insists on researching MC’s native language(s), he wants to understand terms of endearment when MC uses them. Bonus if MC flusters him in Hindi/Tamil/Telugu/any language.

• Likes listening to MC recite old mythological stories. He often draws comparisons between Indian epics and Devildom lore.

• MC teaches him about Indian etiquette, and he starts subtly incorporating it in formal events, a quiet bow, a respectful gesture.

• When MC reads books in Hindi or another Indian language, he’ll sit beside them, quietly asking for translations just to hear them speak.

• He's absolutely obsessed with Indian classical music, when he hears MC humming a raga, he asks them to teach him more.

• The sight of MC in traditional clothing, especially something rich in gold embroidery or silks, makes him go entirely silent. He commits every detail to memory.

• He surprises MC by ordering ancient Indian texts for the House of Lamentation library, he insists on reading them together.

• One of their earliest bonding moments was during a heated debate about Indian vs. Devildom philosophy, and MC actually won.

• He keeps asking to watch Indian films and dramas with them, eventually developing a taste for emotional, complex storylines.

• He’s super playful about trying on MC’s bangles, bindis, or scarves, sometimes even borrowing their dupattas to drape over his shoulder dramatically.

• He gets really into Indian dance with MC, and insists they choreograph a full performance together.

• MC once did his makeup in a classic Indian bridal style just for fun, he loved it so much he wore it to dinner.

• He can be unexpectedly soft when MC talks about missing home, he listens carefully and promises to bring that warmth to the Devildom.

BEELZEBUB

• First encounter: MC offers biryani. Beel eats two plates, declares them soulmates.

• MC hands him jalebi, Beel sniffs, “Sweet. Crunchy. Perfect.”

• He bows to help MC carry groceries during festival prep, endearingly chivalrous.

• Watches MC’s braids swing gently while they laugh, Beel feels warm pride.

• MC shows him traditional jewelry like bangles; he carefully tries one on, spinning it.

• He loves being invited to join Indian prayers or smudging rituals, respects everything.

• Beel asks for MC’s cooking secrets, practices every day for them.

• After MC’s storytelling, he holds their hand, smiling from a place of contentment.

• MC laughs at Beel trying to master Hindi count “ek, do, teen… I can teach you.”

BELPHEGOR

From what I understand of Noli's myth and interpretations of him, he's like a god-like character right? Cause the Void Star, had a whole cult, worshipped, and everything, or he was at least like that and a prophet to the crown if that was its own god (seen someone do this last one while still making him godly). Idk, just been trying to understand stuff and all, never unfortunately that into that side of Roblox back in the day, feels like I missed stuff, but regardless

Reason I bring this up is because I love whenever draw past 007n7 and Noli and makes Noli still god/prophet like. Like its really funny to imagine that this godly thing was just hanging out some dude, said dude is a major criminal but still. Him just chilling with a god? And it can be Noli pretending to be mortal of course (tho I suppose he wouldn't be wearing such clothing you seen people draw him in like a cultist or whatever, and it can just be past Noli was simply a criminal then a god yet), but its much more funnier if 007n7 knew and was just chill with that or whatever (maybe Noli just started his thing or wanted a break/found 007n7 interesting? Figure it out)

It is kinda sad that its just gonna be that 007n7 forced Noli to get the Void Star and then dipped when he got a kid or whatever. Like you can make past 007n7 evil and all but it kinda just feel like you're watering him down

Speaking of 007n7 and Noli, I had a idea for a skin for 007n7, like he can be like a Noli's cultists, probably high in the ranks (I think cults have that, or at least he would get favoritism overall), I've seen only one person draw something like that along with 118o8 as a Spawn cultist of something and never again, could be like a 'what if' like skin or even its own AU. demise was one throw away end boss that, even with the unfortunate lore implications and damage it did to any other antagonist even in retrospect, was never associated with controlling others? Can I just say, if you read or hear some wild version of a greek myth that you're already familiar with, there's no reason to come on here and make a post like "was no one going to tell me ___?! This changes EVERYTHING!" Chances are what you heard is simply some obscure version of the myth or a crazy tidbit about a well-known character that's only found in some forgotten scholiast's note on Pseudo-Apollodorus or some shit, a thousand years after the Iliad was written and any of that stuff was even relevant.

No need to get all up in arms about it. No reason to make that specific version your entire personality. Very, very few things in greek mythology are set in stone, there's always someone making stuff up, and especially when it comes to extremely popular characters like Achilles, every area in Greece likely had their own version of their myth. Karim never told anyone what the party did or that they were the reason why EVERYONE is a magic user now, he just wants to be left alone to live a chill NPC life for his retirement. It all happened after Karim's family arc (so WAY after the main game but earlier than his post-story tattoos. I saw someone on Twitter talk about how BOTW-verse Zelda wouldn't have kids, which would end the goddess bloodline and now it has me thinking like....did every Zelda...always end up having kids? For thousands of years? Was the bloodline continuous since Skyward Sword Zelda (which has to be like...hundreds of thousands of years AT LEAST at this point). While it's neat to see Braham's arc wrapping up with him doing his version of what he thought his Mom would do. Its also telling that Eir got that streak from the champion of coming-up-with-a-plan-that-might-kill-us-all:

Snaff

Spoilers for Edge of Destiny (Novel, 2010), Guild Wars 2 Base Game, Heart of Thorns, Living World Season 4, Icebrood Saga

While it might be hard to believe that Destiny's Edge was a particularly successful guild and if there was any reason to get the gang back together when outside of the dungeon stories the Pact seems to be doing more useful stuff in the base game's story, in Season 1 theyre almost all siffering from siccess and in Heart of Thorns they're all damseled (except for Caithe who has her 30k hurt comfort slash fiction come to a tragic end).

But before the base game: in the novel Edge of Destiny (which retells how the Guild was formed and their escapades until they broke up the first time) they had an astounding success rate that was unheard of before the commander took to the scene.

They succeed with 6 people what normally takes 50 players and a dozen NPCs to do in game: Kill a dragon's champion. They kill the champion of Zaitan, Primordus and Jormag (making the story from Icebrood Saga possible at all by vacating the position of Champion for Braham and Ryland to fill years later).

When they finally turned their attention to try and take down an Elder Dragon they got the inside scoop from Glint on a possible way to slay Kralkatorrik (who as this point in the story was still asleep).

Snaff had been using a magical mo-cap suit to control his golem and had found a way to reverse the magic to make people resistant to the tainting effects of dragon magic. And using the blood spilled from Kralkatorrik's last battle (that Glint had been so kind to collect and hold on to for several thousand years) found a way to use nothing but his mental fortitude and a stylish hat to wrestle the freshly awoken Elder Dragon out of the sky and bind him in place.

Just imagine that, the only characters we know that let their mind get anywhere near the core of a dragon lost all control of themself and were overwhelmed, essentially becoming thralls of the Dragon with their ego protecting itself in a corner of their mind. And then Snaff McBigBalls says, "While I've not tried to yet, it is possible that I can mentally armwrestle an Elder Dragon into submission. It would be bad science to not try."

And he succeeds.

As for why this actual titan of both magic and science isn't around and is barely mentioned in the base game? Cause that's the tragedy of Destiny's Edge, they arranged the most competent team of people Tyria had seen in years, and they forgot to not include Logan Thackery.

Logan bails mid fight against Kralk, the rest of the team is unable to maintain a defence around Snaff who is killed (doesnt stop mind wrestling Kralk the whole time, holding on each extra second in case thats all thats needed to deliver the final blow), Glint also dies here (Kralk has been meaning to kill her for a while and once they are free to move again they kill their own child). And the only one at the end who tries to pick up the pieces is Caithe. Who mirror's Glint's story and gathers up the crystallising blood from this fight with Kralkatorrik so when LWS4 comes around we have some to use it our second attempt on that guy's life (it also doesn't work, lets not kid ourselves, takes 3 real attempts to take the big laddie down).

So in the final story beat of Heart of Thorns where Trehearn asks you to kill him cause he can't stand up to the mental onslaught from Mordremoth, remember Snaff was in the same situation, but he was the one dominating the mind of an Elder Dragon.

He still did die though.

Eir takes this loss quite poorly as she was their big ideas lady. It was her plan to use Snaff's tech to pin the Dragon (her last plan to do a similar thing had gone way better). And these are the stories that Braham hears of Eir. Of taking the lead, sticking to your plans when they're a good plan, not asking other to make a sacrifice you're also not willing to make.

Things Eir and Snaff do that helps the plot later that the plot forgets to mention:

Push back the awakening of Primordus

Push back Jormag's influence from the areas near Hoelbrak

Show an Elder Dragon can be killed (if you bring more than 6 people)

Help Caithe get out of her abusive relationship

Give Zojja enough confidence that she gets a whole ascended armor set named after her

Put Zaitan on the back foot to prevent and incursion from Orr for several more years

If that was your mom, you'd throw yourself into danger too.

the tragedy of martyn's victory in limited life is SO different from that of previous winners and i will never stop thinking about it. past winners fought for their allies or for revenge, but martyn fought to Win. gave up everything, and for what! that stubborn instinct to survive at any cost, to be the last one standing - the fear of running out of time. like winning could save him!

limited life's time gimmick adds a whole extra layer to the futility of it all. you're Always dying, so kill kill kill to stave off the inevitable. but eventually everyone else has died, you killed them all for that delicious time, and all you can do is watch the clock tick down! rotatimg him in my head forever..

Glancing at something on Ao3 -

What kind of feelings Jerry was supposed to evoke, actually?

FE16 pushes the player - through Billy - to consider Jerry as a good parent, because it plays with the red herring about the evil lizard lady being evil.

And yet, even with all of his misgivings about his kid, Jerry is still the one who calls Flamey's bullshit and wonders if running away from GM wasn't the stupidest decision he ever made, just before kicking the bucket.

Being the cheap copy of the Ike'n'Greil relationship, Jerry's presence and death is supposed to be important to Billy - even in Tru Piss where they look pissed at seeing Emile and working with Uncle'n'pals.

And yet, unlike what we learn about Greil being the chadest amongst chads with 1 (one!) blackspot to his record, whenever you talk to characters about Jerry you're met with... less than rosy thoughts, even if the characters apparently handwave it away.

Let it be with Leonie, or even Alois, Billy learns that their dad wasn't the chadest of chads like Greil, but a drunkard (before Citrus' death, since Alois was a kid!) who apparently played dangerous games with people who idolised him, left his kid alone to be showered with praise by Leonie's village as he dealt with bandits, and left bar tabs all around the continent for his "apprentices" to pay.

Come the "journal" where, imo, we learn that dude was so afraid of his baby not being "normal" than he ran away from the odd lady who saved them "a long time" ago and who's pretty much not normal himself, and the place where his own wife, who displayed - partly - the same "abnormality" as their baby grew up and lived.

Then Nopes happened and did a number on poor Jerry - from mocking their kid's potential aspirations at being something else than a sword for hire, to their singing (done to cheer him up!) and actually learning he at times apparently let them go without food while he never invited them to the "thank you" parties throwns by the people his company saved...

Billy still loves their dad, but is he a good dad by any means?

With all that knowledge, after playing both FE16 and Nopes, can we really feel upset when Jerry kicks the bucket? For Billy maybe, because Jerry is important for them, but does it has the same echo as Greil's death, or even, to remain in Fodlan, Rodrigue's?

I guess if in Nopes, Jerry acted on his heel-face turn (or suddenly growing a brain) from his penultimate FE16 dialogue, we could have had a character growing beyond the red herring and the "unreliable narrator" stuff FE16's first part gave us, and maybe make for a more grounded-complete character, like confessing that he panicked after Citrus' death and worried for Billy, but regrets not being able to bring them the best life they dreamt of, and willing to apologise and let Billy grow in the same environment Citrus did.

Or maybe even explore what Jerry did in 300 years, if he never bothered to wonder why the fuck was he living to be as old as the elites, or his thoughts and feelings about Rhea periodically using hairdye to pretend to be someone else and "aging" even less than him...

Given how - or maybe i'm tainted by the fandom - FE16 thrived on the playerbase feeling characters/situation "relatable" from a doylist pov, I guess Jerry running away with bby!Billy because they weren't "normal" wasn't as weird as it sounds, babies should rightfully have a beating heart!

Bernie is a hikkikomori (forget the part where she's supposed to be the heir of one of the most important lands in Adrestia which would rightfully make her father disappointed with her (lbr, Greg would either have tried to get another kid with Bernie's mom, or got a second wife/bastard, or picked a branch member of his house to take his succession), Linhardt falls asleep and doesn't want to do his job as the next minister of Finances/whatever his dad does and prefers to hyperfocus on academic research ? How lol (please ignore the implications of House Hervring's heir being, uh, not interested in whatever his father does and how he is supposed to inherit his job (at least before Supreme Leader starts her war and pulls out her "reforms")).

Between the brackets are the first arguments that come to mind, if we consider the world those characters live in, aka Watsonian wise.

Jerry is worried about his baby's heart not beating and them not being normal? Jerry, you're not "normal" per Fodlan's standards yourself, you're over 300! Your wife had the same difficulties to emote than your kid and she might or not have had the same "heart not beating" syndrome given how it's her own heart that was transplanted in your kid

You know that what is "normal" for regular humans in Fodlan do not apply to you, your wife or your boss who oddly looks like your wife. So why was that argument even considered when you decided to run away and condemn your child to a life of "sword for hire" and danger at each day ending with a -y ?

IDK, it's as if, in BK, Kalas' bro, born without wings - which is an oddity since apparently everyone is born with some in this verse - finds Kalas weird for only having "one wing" and not two like everyone. It would be the pot calling the keetle back (but since BK is a game with coherent writing, this never happened).

Jerry runs away with the baby because the baby isn't normal despite the midwife assuring everyone they are?

Was he a character who made the best situation out of the shitty cards he was handed regarding their kid?

Or a character who swallowed an idiot plot ball to play with the doylist red herring, made errors but ultimately saw the light before being Clownya'd?
