                       “ hey ! ”  with a flick of her wrist, connie waved happily to the younger boy in order to get his attention.   thankfully, connie wasn’t shy at all      she had spent the afternoon introducing herself to the other members of alexandria so that she could thank them for their hospitality while yumiko rested.  despite her friends knowing enough sign language to communicate with her, connie was prepared with a notepad and pen so that she could properly thank the residents of this community.  continuing with her task, she eagerly walked up to another member of alexandria and held out her notepad.  i’m connie    the notepad read.   we’re so thankful for everyone here.

              he shouldn’t interfere. the world wasn’t what it used to be, people weren’t good and there were numerous ways in which this could go badly. it could have been a trap, just some ready made ambush for some group of scavengers to steal all his shit and even if it wasn’t, who was to say that his good deed wouldn’t go unpunished? but he couldn’t help it. couldn’t seem to convince himself to remain complicit in someone else’s death or injury so when he saw the biters closing in on some guy from all angles -- he reacted.

          she  found  the  word  of  those  closer  to  her  in  age  more  believable.  surely,  if  this  place  had  kids  here,  it  couldn’t  be  that  bad.  and  she  had  to  admit,  seeing  kids  younger  than  her  had  set  off  a  huge  sigh  of  relief.  still,  it  was  difficult  to  discern.  they  might  all  be  CANNIBALS  for  all  she  knew.  she  shudders  at  the  thought.  honey  irises  scan  the  sun-drenched  streets  of  their  supposed  new  home.  the  walls  looked  STEADY,  to  keep  out  as  well  as  IN.  she  wasn’t  sure  if  that  made  her  feel  better  but  she  had  already  pegged  at  least  five  places  where  her  and  her  brother  could  escape.  approaching  the  lanky  boy,  she  holds  nothing  back  as  her  voice  comes  out  crisp  and  clear,  “  what’s  the  worst  thing  you’ve  ever  done  ??  ”
