It was his job to make sure everyone was safe. Even if he didn’t speak the same language as the people he had been stationed with, when emergency struck, Jinyoung was able to ensure everyone was moving as quickly as they could to safety.

He had thought he had done just that, but when he completed his headcount, he realised someone was missing. Turning to his commander, he shook Jaebum’s arm. “Y/N is missing.”

“What?” Jaebum checked the faces again, his own paling when he realised you weren’t there. Before he could give the order, Jinyoung raced out of the medic tent, searching the disaster zone for a sign of you. They had been fortunate to have no fatalities and today wasn’t the day he was going to lose you. 

When Jinyoung finally found you, he realised why you hadn’t followed the rest of your team out of the site as you were entrapped by a fallen rock on your leg. He dropped to his knees, reaching for your face to shake you awake.

You smiled slowly. “You’re here.”

“You don’t think I’d ever leave you, huh?”
