ana I was catching up on your eris posts and you know I adore your characterization of him so I have to ask. what do you imagine eris’s opinions about humans to be? I tend to think of him as being prejudiced towards them but not malicious, and I love seeing him thrown into situations with them (especially with a human love interest hee hee) because I think it reallyyyy challenges his biases and his ego. draws out the haughtiest most arrogant parts of him and then threatens to stomp on them if he lets the relationship progress, yk

I differ from a lot of fanon in that I think he’s probably pretty racist. Against lesser fae, and then even moreso against humans - the lack of magic is what makes them lesser, and humans who don’t have any magic at all is like… almost no better than animals, to him. Remember beron telling feyre “don’t speak to her, mortal trash” or something during the high lord’s summit after she burned the lady of autumn? Yeah he passed that attitude on to eris for sure

I don’t think he’s inherently sadistic towards them - maybe he was when he was younger, and figuring out what it meant to be powerful, and he was first getting the full weight of beron’s abuse and was lashing out at anything he could to feel like he had authority over someone when he had no authority at all over his own life. But now, no; I think at best it’s a benign sort of paternalism.

With a human love interest would be so difficult. Both for him to view them as anything but feeble and in need of his protection, and then to allow them any agency when *other* fae might view them as feeble and easy prey. He likes to control everything, and having a human LI would threaten that, and I think play into his worst impulses in a lot of ways. Much to think about with this ‼️‼️‼️
