Yall, I’ve been super curious as to the biology of the terminids. I just love em, something about the stalkers make them look like bug cats.

But, are they even bugs? As in, insects?

Obviously they wouldn’t fit into any known species, but I bet we can at least determine what would be new. Please keep in mind that I am neither biologist nor Helldivers expert, and if I get anything wrong, feel free to correct me.

I thought the best way to identify them would be by standard taxonomy, to see how far down the list I could get. https://animaldiversity.org/accounts/Animalia/classification/#Animalia had a nice tool to help with this.

So, the taxonomy of the terminids, as best I can figure:

-Animalia, they’re ambulatory and intelligent enough for basic tactics and communication. There is mention of them spreading by spore, but that could easily be mislabeling. By the rules of reality as WE, MODERN HUMANS KNOW THEM, they are animals. There is a chance they outright don’t fit this system, but that’s lame.

-Eumetazoa, they aren’t sponges. Going forward, I won’t even mention why I didn’t select sponges or coral; terminids cannot be either, because they are ambulatory. There is a chance they are a super colony of microorganisms, but I would be shocked.

-Bilateria, as they are not parasitic(I’m pretty sure) nor are they flat by any definition. I also do not believe they are jellyfish, as they seem to be intelligent and more complex.

-Dueterostomia, by process of elimination. As of yet, we do not know if their anus forms before or after their mouth, but that seems to fit it best. However, there is a very real chance that they are related to lobsters. I do not know.

-Echinodermata. They aren’t acorn worms. Per my in-game observations, they do not have spines, and therefore cannot be Chordates.

The taxonomy stops here, as they do not seem to be part of any class inside echinodermata. If you don’t know, that includes things like sea stars, sea urchins, and sea cucumbers. Not even close, and probably wrong.

I don’t know where I went wrong. Somebody smarter than I could probably do better, but this took like an hour so I’m moving on.

The most reasonable conclusion, based on my research, is that they are related to lobsters. They have many superficial similarities, such as the claws, shells, and mandibles. I’m willing to bet that I was wrong to classify them as Dueterostomia, as I’m very confident in my prior selections.

Perhaps the taxonomic approach is also faulty, somehow. Maybe even the website I was using. Oh well, it’s still a fun headcanon

More Sybil the Helldiver lore please I am curious about her

So um . She's the result of experiments by the ministry of science involving illuminate dark fluid (i don.t care if thats not how it works . Its my only explanation) and now she has the ability to respawn, for some reason

So obviously she becomes their most important asset and gets sent on every suicide mission .which is absolutely fine for her mental health and doesnt traumatise her .why do you ask. She's fine . Nothing wrong with her.

Imagine seeing your own corpse. Anyways

So . She falls in love with another helldiver on a mission (she is a girl .i have no lore for her yet .um .yuri) but unfortunately the curse of being (practically) immortal is that everyone you love will die . Even more since she's a helldiver and helldivers explode every day 1 million times. So yeah her wife gets eviscerated like nothing left. Pile of gloop closed casket type of shit. Sybil blames herself like every day for it she's constantly suffering .

She could hypothetically overthrow the government if she wanted but she's too busy not being her own person due to The Guilt . And also the everything else

Also other bit of lore .she becomes part of a squad of truth enforcers at some point and she's used to assassinate traitors and stuff. Basically if she doesn't kill you herself you'll suffocate under a pile of her corpses . Hope this helps

I’ve been putting off on posting this for whatever reason but here they are 🫶 my specialest boys!!

I have been thinking about this Au/Crossover situation for MONTHS now btw they infect my brain like little worms

How does it all make sense for these three to coexist? Easy.

Halo & helldivers are from the same-ish universes, sort of, come from different galaxies the UNSC sends their Spartans out to help Helldiver operations as back up from time to time. Helldivers are seen as slightly crazed quacks by the UNSC but it’s better they have Spartans to keep them sane and controlled on more delicate missions then nothing.

Space marines (and warhammer associated factions ect.) exist in a separate universe (naturally) but warp shenanigans means they can bleed over sometimes to this new foreign area (time travel or multiverse hoping, your pick.) and that’s how we got to our current range :3

About Helldivers 2, this game has already been analyzed to (super) hell and back, but here we go.

Super Earth, you know it and love it, but do we actually know what it looks like? “But manybackflips,” I hear you say, “we saw what Super Earth looks like in the opening cinematic! It’s a perfect utopia!”

Character Profile: Vix

Race: Human* (approximately 90% human and 10% Terminid)

Height: 5’7

Weight: 200 lbs.

Appearance: (see attached) Additional notes, her neck and right thigh have very heavy scarring from prolonged aggressive stim usage. Also their hands seem to have developed a thin layer of chitin resembling that related to Terminids. Lastly on her right shoulder the fire safety officer emblem is stamped. She’s got some extra weight compared to most helldivers due to her time she was forced to take off thanks to her DO. 

Equipment: - SG-451

- Either the CQC-30 Stun Baton or P-72

- G-4 Gas Grenade

- Bonesnapper Armor

- Modified Physician Helmet (modified with a small bio scanner)

Skills: Very skilled with a scalpel and stim, as her medical specialty was surgery. 

Personality: Grumpy on the outside, soft on the inside. Has become a bit callous after what happened on Malevelon Creek, and then Miridia. She has an unfortunate tendency to speak her mind without thinking, in the best or worst scenarios. 

History:

Vix was born and raised on Meridia and chose to work hard on the farm before enrolling in medical school. Enlisted only months before the attack on the Creek. The battle went so poorly with her squadmates that she hasn’t seen two of them since. She kept fighting though doing her best to keep her fellow squadmates from dying in the field. During her time in the Corps she was often found testing stims on herself to test their effectiveness. One day she got in a heated argument with [redacted] who was working on an Anti-Terminid compound, at some point in the argument the compound was smashed on her chest and she was taken to a medical center. A few weeks later she received an honorable discharge from the Corps and began spending a lot of time fighting the Terminids. She got her Fire Safety Officer certification a few months before her DO forced her to take time off from diving. And now she’s here.
