It's officially a new year. And while I usually don't bother with the idea of the "New Year's Resolution", it's a good idea in spirit.

2024 has been a wildly mixed year in regard to personal successes and failures with extremes on each end. I'm choosing to try and focus on the positives of 2024, of which there were many that I am extremely grateful for.

One of those wins was the continued growth, albeit small and gradual, of this weird little comic strip. I've been making Finding Dee for just a few days shy of 8 years now, and before that, have been making comic strips and comic books with the goal of "making it" since I got out of high school. And in 2024, while I'm still not there FINANCIALLY by a long shot, I feel like I've moved further on that path than ever before.

This has been, quite possibly, the first year where I've started to feel like maybe... just maybe... I belong here.

So, if I can say that I have a resolution for 2025, it's this. Keep moving forward. Keep working towards my goals and working to make this comic better. Get it in front of more eyes. See just how far I can go with this weird little slice of life that should never have even gotten THIS far with how much i've second guessed myself and doubted if I should even bother over the years.

Hope you enjoy what's coming in 2025 as much as I hope to enjoy making it. 💚💜💙

Lately I've been reading the collected Judge Dredd stories. I've always enjoyed the dystopian vibe and harsh humor of the series.

Then I came across this particular bit of outlandish dystopian fiction, a horrible future where machines replace artists. Constantly regurgitaing what has come before...

What a nasty vision of the future John Wagner and Cam Kennedy had in 1986…

But for some reason, the sleazy bussinessman's rationalization seemed weirdly familiar...

As did the feeling of the fictional artist who had all his hard work and talent stolen from him.

I’ve been imagining Cherri Bomb's backstory lately - I like to think she was part of an all-female biker gang in her first years in Hell… so this is a drawing imagining her sowing chaos with the girls. I also like to imagine Hell's landscape is strewn with the giant corpses of fallen angels and everyone's used to the sight of them
