Students' Students AU part 3
Part 1 and Part 2
So Sakura starts studying by following Shizune's instructions and reading any book suggestion she can get her hands on. Much like Sasuke being trained by Anko as a bonus for his cursed mark, at first she's still Kakashi's student and only asking for Shizune's help on her free time. (And Naruto at this point is already being taken around on small missions with Jiraya).
Soon enough Shizune decides she's ready for some practice and in no time Sakura starts showing results. That's when she invites Tsunade to take a look at her progress.
Tsunade is quite please and surprised by it, and officially assigns Sakura to train under Shizune (she's hokage she doesn't have all that time, and who's better to pass down her teachings than her own student).
Sakura will also train more taijutsu in the following years (and Tsunade could take some time here and there to give her some tips) so that she's not only in the back waiting for her teammates to get hurt. Sakura wants to fight, she wants to become strong to protect her friends.
Bonus (watch out Kakashi):

It's so funny how Kakashi simultaneously had so much trust in Sakura as a person able to decide the best course of action for Team 7 when he's not around and yet it reads like he didn't want Sakura to get involved at all on the whole fighting part.
Kakashi never once taught Sakura a useful jutsu to defend herself in a fight, insisting on personally shielding Sakura from danger— but he was okay with letting her on her own and would send her to anchor the other genins of Team 7.
I think he didn't find Sakura incompetent at heart. He was just uncomfortable with the idea of her in danger. She was a 12 years old girl from a civilian / small clan family who was more busy being just a normal child. No cursed talents inherited from her parents. No warlike traumas. Sakura would step in front of an attack with no doubts to protect their client, she'd take multiple kunais to the body, she would shield her friends with her body. Even if she was afraid of dying or getting hurt, that fear never really stood in the way for her. It's almost like she valued her kunoichi career over her own life, right
Even during the Fourth Shinobi War, after she had seen enough as a medic kunoichi for us to say she wasn't naive at all anymore. She was willing to do what it took, so it wasn't an attitude problem.
Kakashi simply couldn't stomach the idea of her getting hurt. He was late to almost everything and couldn't always be there for Sasuke and Naruto. But for Sakura? That man was always on time for her. He drew the line at Sakura being attacked. It was like his personal job.
Still, he disappeared from Sakura's life after she started training with Tsunade. Sent her alone to protect Tazuna on the bridge for some days. He left her alone to face Sasori because Chiyo was there and Gai team was on their way. He sent her with Pakkun after Sasuke, Naruto and Gaara.
I love to study how complicated Kakashi is.

ok so like i know the reason is just. sexism but one thing that really irks me about how the post-timeskip naruto manga handled which characters became medic nin bc it makes absolutely no sense to me
sakura's decision to train under tsunade makes sense, and i love that she got a super strength power up, so no notes there, but the other teams.... yeesh
so first off, team ten. we're told that ino decided to follow sakura into mednin land to keep being rivals with her... despite that at no point factoring into their rivalry at all beforehand. ino never showed any interest in that, nor was the yamanaka clan ever mentioned to have anything to do with healing as far as i can remember. it's like going to art school to stay with your bestie when your goal is to become a dentist. why are you there. find other ways to spend time together. it also kinda goes against her family's whole thing as. the guys who do the torture stuff. and it's barely ever relevant anyway
for team ten, i think the team medic should've been shikamaru, and i think this not just bc i think it makes more sense skill-wise (something about the way the nara clan's various shadow jutsu work just screams "you need good chakra control for this" to me), but also bc i think it would make asuma's death a thousand times more painful. bc shikamaru is a slacker. he's not learning medical ninjutsu bc he wants to, he's learning it bc someone on the team has to in order to stick together. they're all chuunin now; one of them has to be a medic. them's the rules. but he doesn't really care that much, even when he is trying to learn, and he's so used to being smart enough to not have to pay attention in lessons anyway that he's not prepared for classes that require his full focus. and then asuma dies and shikamaru is doomed to spend the rest of his fucking life wondering if he could've saved him by paying just a little more attention to those medical ninjutsu lessons (he could not have (but he'll never know for sure))
team eight makes some sense, since giving the girl who struggles with fighting the healing job isn't exactly out of nowhere, but i do feel it was the lazy choice. kiba already had a sister involved in the medical business, even if she deals more with animals, so he could've started learning from her and found that he liked it. plus kiba's goal is to be hokage, and the current hokage is a mednin, so it's not like it wouldn't support his goal. or shino could do it; would add another layer to his character. hinata works fine but. it's just not a very interesting development imo
but what really gets me is team gai. good freaking grief. out of every single team, team gai was the one with the most obvious choice. bc there was only one choice. lee can't do any kind of ninjutsu, and tenten's only real backstory is that her chakra control isn't good enough for her to be a medic nin. so it had to be neji. canon establishes that every team has to have a medic; this is a policy tsunade got passed even before she became hokage, so no way in hell is she going back on it now.
moreover, neji becoming a medical ninja - especially if hiashi encouraged it - would show some development for the hyuuga clan maybe starting to suck a bit less. bc as a medic, neji would be bound by oath to stay alive for as long as possible. imagine a world in which hizashi came back and hiashi was able to tell his brother that not only was their family starting to change, but his son had chosen a path that would prevent him from ever following in his father's footsteps. it would be the first step (of many) to show that the hyuuga clan was freeing itself from its own bullshit.
also it would've made sakura catching the zetsu pretending to be neji a thousand times funnier. like that's her coworker. they've shared shifts at the hospital together. she's seen neji drink vodka straight from a bottle and then crash on her couch after they got out of a twelve-hour surgery on the fucking dumbass chuunin who managed to step on his own boobytrap. she knows him.
#naruto#naruto shippuden#medical ninjutsu#iryou ninjutsu#haruno sakura#senju tsunade#yamanaka ino#nara shikamaru#hyuuga hinata#inuzuka kiba#hyuuga neji#white zetsu#hyuuga clan#neji should've been a mednin not hinata i will die on that hill

Had a dream today and I'm evolving it as I go here
The main idea that Rin didn't die when she tried to unalive herself by Kakashi's hand, but Obito was already traumatized and got in with Madara's Moon Eye plan. So yada-yada, she's the jinchuriki of Sanbi. BUT the difference was that she decided to come out of the closet (a real tight one cuz of her clan but she almost just DIED what to regret now) that she's actually a guy. So FTM Rin guys. Rin is he/him from now on.
He wouldn't change his personality and crush on Kakashi much. Dude is a medic, have you met medics? My extended family has a lot of medics in ER and other and let me tell you, they're ruthless and give 0 fucks.
Oh and since he's a medic he has top notch access to remove his own boobs and change his hormones fucking manually.
I think he would rethink his crush on Kakashi, like, man, he's a loser, plus it's hard to crush on someone who you thought killed you (even tho you made him) AND Kakashi has doomed love with 'dead' Obito and it's a bummer.
Idk about his name tho, he probably would change it just to, unknowingly, create more confusion for poor Obito, who is SURE that Rin is dead-dead and fucking Konoha didn't even made a grave for her and Kakashi doesn't even VISIT.
Madara and Zetsu obviously don't tell him about his development. They don't need him to have a hope in this world again.
Kakashi is just glad that he didn't kill his teammate and maybe they connect better since "Rin" (listen i NEED a name for him, but i have 0 ideas about meaning or what ever. maybe he'd take something to honor Obito's memory?) doesn't crush on him anymore and maybe he's trans too?? idk about it yet but he might act warmer to "Rin" now.
So Obito is just confused, like WHO is this dude from Nohara clan who is now with Kakashi ALL the time (they're still best friends). He doesn't connect that this brown haired (!) medic (!!) from Nohara clan (!!!) with the same marks (!!!) same age as them (!!!!!) might be Rin. like no, nope, Rin a nice gentle lady, not this smoking dude who yells at Kakashi and curses at him cuz he run away from hospital again.
So yeah Obito is just not impressed. But intrigued. And jealous. He stalks Kakashi AND this guy all the time. May develop a crush on both, cuz "Rin" is still the same at his core.
Kakashi would still go in ANBU cuz Minato asked him (still not sure about it, like yeah lets put deeply traumatized 13 yo in assasin squad good job) and stuff.
So idk how canon would go from there, like i doubt that Minato would let 14 yo jinchuriki near another one at this tense situation, even tho "Rin" could've help.
So yeah Kushiha and Minato die, "Rin" barely holds onto the Sanbi but Obito finds out that the guy is holding them. He doesn't connects the dots. Or he does? His mind just CAN'T hold on to the fact that his Rin MIGHT survived.
But maybe "Rin" was closer to the place where they sealed Kuubi in Naruto (maybe he ran there cuz there's Kuubi rampaging and he HAS to help) so Minato entrusted Naruto to him, not to fucking Sandaime.
So yeah, now "Rin" is Naruto's legal dad at the age of 14 and no one can fucking take him away cuz a) it was Minato's dying wish; and b) just fucking TRY to peer "Rin" away from Naruto, you'll get your hand bitten off and NO arguments work, cuz "Rin", who was trained by Kushina in jinchuriki stuff, can make some sort of turtle shield and he hides in it with his new baby and no one can do anything.
And no one can protect baby jinchuriki better than the other jinchuriki so it's fine. Everyone just accepts it.
(Isobu laughs at Kurama cuz haha im the older sibling now :))
Naruto is bullied less but I think no one can tell him about his parents cuz Sandaime sucks ass. But "Rin" drops HUGE hints cuz he hates Sandaime now too. Like no shit Tsunade left.
Idk what would happen with Obito if he finds out about "Rin's" identity. he'd come back crawling and crying probably. Maybe try to kidnap him and cry more in Kamui.

more Konoha 12 headcanons bleaker
i’m gonna assume that last word is a typo???? unsure. BUT HAVE MORE HEADCANONS!!!!
team 7 and team gai are always together and team 10 and team 8 are always together. such is the consequence of your jounin senseis dating
tenten’s Eternal RivalTM is temari but she’s never actually admitted it out loud. shikamaru is so scared that tenten is going to steal his girlfriend through the power of youth and sweaty challenges
lee and sasuke are both insane about training and randomly challenge each other to taijutsu battles. as well as lee and naruto get along, him and sasuke have a similar intensity and focus level when it comes to training and lee prefers to train with sasuke when he can’t train with any of his team or with sakura
speaking of team 7 and taijutsu, sakura trains with team gai all of the time, especially with lee. their sparring has gotten so out of hand that tsunade had a special training ground made for them out in the mountains so they’d stop breaking the communal training grounds and pissing off all the chunin and jounin.
shikamaru and neji play shogi together all the time. neji has only beaten shikamaru a few times, always when he’s distracted thinking about something else
ino, shino, and tenten are the snoops/detectives and somehow know everything about everyone all the time
slugs aren’t bugs but shino still goes wild over sakura’s slug summon. deeply upset about naruto’s toad summons though
choji and lee have spicy curry eating contests all the time and are basically keeping the curry of life shop open with their patronage alone
kiba, naruto, and tenten are the agents of chaos of the group and their victim is somehow always neji
hinata hangs out a lot with team gai because of neji and is really close with lee and tenten. lee is one of the people who helps bring hinata out of her shell and become more confident in herself
shino insists on addressing all of team gai with ‘senpai’ until they finally get him to stop after they all get promoted in the second chunin exams.
lee cries whenever someone calls him senpai
the girls all hang out together regularly and have sleepovers at each others’ places all the time. the guys see the girls making plans to hang out and THEN decide they should plan something too
neji isnt allowed to play card games because everyone thinks he’ll use his byakugan to cheat. hinata is allowed to play but nobody ever notices that she keeps using her byakugan. kiba has lost so much money betting against her
sasuke nearly gets banned a few times for trying to use his sharingan but he gets clowned on for it because it’s so noticeable and he gives up after that
sakura loves using her strength to carry people around. she’ll just pick up her friends and start walking around, especially if she’s drunk
speaking of getting drunk, sakura tenten and choji have insane alcohol tolerances and because of that they’re usually the one paying for drinks when the k12 go out. sakura is the one to beat in drinking contests and the only one who has is tsunade

Many fans consider the Naruto light novels canon, so that means you accept that :
- Naruto knew about Hinata liking him all along but thought she loved him like she would like ramen or shogi and ignored it for years
- Naruto didn't understand anything about love despite being his whole arc in the manga
- For Naruto and Hinata's wedding, Kakashi had a huge problem : the security of Konoha. Because everyone wanted to go the wedding (you see). So Kakashi used an old law and started a competition between the guests. So the ones who offer the best gifts can go to the wedding and the others, they are on duty. It's only after Tsunade came back (at least, she didn't lose her brain), that he changed his plan. Thankfully, Naruto never heard of it...
- Sakura kept chasing Sasuke until he returned her feelings and compared it to hitting your ennemy until he lost
- Hinata is friends with Orochimaru and doesn't have any problem with helping him in his experiences and letting him near Himawari
- Naruto didn't bother telling Hinata he was sick and dying
- When Naruto was worried about Shikamaru, he went to Sakura. Who told him to not "worry" and to focus on his own things to not disappoint people. We learnt later that he had good intuitions, since Shikamaru almost failed his mission and was convinced to join a secte (like Sai actually). Thankfully, Temari was smart enough to notice something was wrong too...
- Hinata is unhappy. Hanabi noticed it and offered her to live with her, but Hinata decided to fight her sister instead. (Actually it's consistent with the manga, but that doesn't sound good for NH fans right ?)
- Apparently, Boruto and Himawari were trained in the Huyga style despite not having the byakugan and never showing that style in the manga.
- Sakura kissed Sasuke on Naruto's dying body.
- Sakura almost died from poison despite being a poison expert since the second part of Naruto manga.
- In a mission to save Naruto, Sasuke got hurt by prison guardians (yeah Sasuke) and he watched an almond blossom hoping it would blossom because it reminded him of Sakura (a real teenager, I know).
- Sakura has an amazing sensing technique, but never uses in the Boruto manga despite the fact it would have been useful. Actually, Naruto and Shikamaru when they need a sensor, they ask Ino.
- Sasuke and Sakura both claimed they would use the edo tensei to see the other if they had the chance
- Sasuke is upset with Naruto and Kakashi for sending him away from his family in missions while it was his choice to leave Konoha by the end of Naruto.
To sum up, the novels contradict the original work (and even the Boruto manga), your favorite characters and ships sound different (and sometimes even look "worse").
And the truth is... why would I consider them canon ? They aren't written by Kishimoto. And from one novel to another, they're not the same writers either.
And at the end of the day, if I don't need them to understand Naruto and Boruto, then it's very telling.

Hello, do you have applications open? Can I order a Shikamaru Nara x y/n uzumaki Naruto's younger sister who, along with Shikamaru, had been the only two to become chunin Y/n, unlike Naruto, hated all the adults in the village. One night she decided to desert but before leaving the village she was intercepted by Shikamaru who tried to stop her by trapping her in his shadow possession. Just before Shikamaru lost consciousness he whispered to him. It's problematic but I love you, please take care of Naruto leaving shikamaru asleep at the foot of a tree please along with a stormy reunion where this time Shikamaru beats him, yes please

The Other Uzumaki
Shikamaru Nara x Uzumaki!reader
Warning: Angst, Reader has a lot of hate inside her, Reader is a bitch to Shikamaru, redemption, swearing
A/n: I wrote this as if all the characters were older when Lady Tsunade became hokage. I know this is exactly what you asked for but I hope you like it.
A picture rests on the windowsill, the two six years olds playing in the field just east of the village. Iruka Sensei took us out for lunch. Told us it was good for us to get out of the village every once and a while, but even at the age of six, the real reason was to get us away from the rest of the village. The looks on their faces when we are just trying to buy food from the measley monthly allowance the Third Hokage gives. My jaw clenches as Iook out the window. Looking down at all the villagers walking around, laughing with each other.
I hate them. Each and every one of them. I hate Iruka Sensei for only choosing Naruto to care for. Lord Third for letting us rot in this apartment. The villagers for treating us the way they do for absolutely no reason. And our parents, whoever they were, for dying and leaving us behind.
Everyone has plans for the future. Naruto claims he will be the next Hokage and he is right. He will be make an excellent Hokage. But me, all I know is how to survive. That's it. I want to be a medic. Help and save everyone that I can save. Yet no one wants to teach me
I am alone. Always have been. Or at least I was until I found comfort in two people. Hinata Hyuga, who was always watching my brother, and Shikamaru Nara, the laziest ninja in the village.
Finally having enough, I pack my bag. This village as nothing to offer me. Being here will only drag me down. Naruto doesn’t need me anymore. He has his own team. Kakashi Sensei, Sakura, Sasuke, Iruka Sensei, and even Konohamaru. He had this whole family and yet I was alone. No team, no money, no hope. I take one final look over the apartment I have lived in for as long as I can remember. Pictures of Naruto and I fill the counters, ledges, and even his bedside table. A note from an old receipt laid next to freshly bought ramen, Naruto’s favorite, explaining why I had to leave. The door shuts softly, leaving the place I once called home. Taking a deep breath, I slip through the village as if I was a properly trained ninja.
“Where are you going?” Shikamaru asks, voice cold ashes steps out of the shadows of the forest. “Away.” His brow furrows taking a step forward. “Why? Where are you going?” I scoff, continuing down the path that leads out of the village. The shadows grow, trapping me to my spot in the forest. “Why are you leaving?” I wanted to turn to look at him, scream at him but the shadows left me trapped. “What is here for me? A village who despises every breath my brother and I take, enough money to only afford expired cup ramen, and what else? I am alone. Naruto finally has people who care for him. Me? I have no one.” Shikamaru steps forward, causing me to mirror his movements. “You have me.” He whispers, voice filled with emotions. “I’m sorry Shikamaru.” With a practiced burst of chakra, the shadows fall, releasing me from its prison. “It’s not enough to make everything else fade away.” I look up, taking note of every feature. The freckles dusted across his nose. The pale scar inches above his right eyebrow. “Goodbye Shikamaru.”
The village is vibrant. I don’t know whether its because of the spring and the blossoms are in bloom, or if its the time away that has made it so beautiful. Crowds actually cheering as we walk through the streets towards the Hokage tower. The village proudly welcoming the new fifth Hokage, Lady Tsunade.
After leaving the village, I ran into Lady Tsunade. Quite literally I was running from a shop keeper I had stolen from. Not much, just three apples. Luckily for me, she paid for everything and led me back to her hotel. Claimed I reminded her of someone she used to know. The next day, training started. Days turned into weeks, weeks tired into months, months turned into two years.
Until the two counterparts of the legendary sannin showed up, along with my brother. When we met in that bar, it was the first time since we were children I cried in his arms. It was the first night I felt complete in almost a decade.
Later that night, I sit alone in the apartment, that once was mine. It was different yet nothing has changed. My side sits as bare as the day I left. New pictures replaced the old ones. Older Naruto and even a photo of team 7. Dust filled the room from before Naruto left. Kages know that Naruto is practically impossible to clean house.
Shadows surround me, restraing me to the bed. “You’re back.” I smile, the voice that fills my dream. “Shikamaru.” His feet land on the floor with a soft thud. “You came back.” He repeated. “I did.” He hums, leaning against the counter. “Why?” My heart pounds from the bottom of my stomach to the top of my throat. “Well I’m sure you heard Lady Tsunade is becoming the Fifth Hokage.” He hums, straightening his back, small cracks following. “I heard something like that. Is that the only reason?” I smile softly, feeling the shadows start to waver. “Well Naruto practically begged me to come back on his knees. So there that.” Another hum, as he steps forward. “Anything else?” His voice deep and raspy. The shadows fall away completely, letting me stretch my joints. “Maybe. There was this guy.” Shikamaru hums, walking until he is just inches from me.”Yeah, he was pretty desperate, asking me to stay in this village just for him.” I tease, nudging his foot with mine. “Sounds pathetic.” He smirks, squatting. His hands rest on my knees. “No, not at all. I was a complete bitch to him. Told him he wasn’t enough.” His fingers tightened around thighs. “I was wrong. He would have been enough. He would have been so much more than enough. He would have made that horrible horrible village so much brighter. But I left.” My small pale hands cover his tan calloused hands. “I am so sorry.I shouldn’t… Shikamaru, I need you to know. You are more than worth it.” One hand cups his cheek. “You are my home. And if you will have me, even if it's just as a friend, I want to be with you.” Shikamaru’s onxy colored eyes search my face before sighing. “You are such a troublesome woman.” He leans in, breath mixing with mine. “Shika.” His lips are on mine, hands in my hair. It wasn’t just a quick peck either. It was a messy, teeth clashing kiss that leaves you breathless and craving more.
“Welcome home.” Shikamaru whispers, pressing a kiss to my forehead. I smile, looking up at him. My leg thrown over his waist as he listened to the tales of my lesson with Lady Tsunade. The sun rising in the world outside the window. His heart beat fills my ears, lulling me to sleep. I press a small kiss to his chest. “Home.”

I had this idea on a whim for a Generation Swap AU where our team 7 were the legendary Sanin training Tsunade Jiraiya and Orochimaru— here’s Sakura and Tsunade done. I really love and am proud of these designs so I hope you do as well…
Furthermore here’s a bit of lore:
Sakura would be the second of the Sanin to be introduced. She’d come into the story after the Chuunin exam preliminary’s to find Tsunade, who has qualified for the final round, training relentlessly. However, due to unforeseen circumstances in the second round, Orochimaru is the one getting the most attention from Hiruzen so Tsunade gets left to train on her own— to little avail. That’s when Sakura comes around and stumbles upon Tsunade training in the woods and eventually decides to train her in at first Taijutsu, preparing her for the Chuunin exams. Tsunade wins her first round before Konoha is attacked by Sasuke and the hidden sand (and I’ll build on that later possibly). In this attack Kakashi Hatake, the 4th Hokage is killed by Sasuke.
Not long after the attack Sakura is the one they initially ask to take on the title of Hokage. However, she ultimately declines and instead recommends Naruto, who she would then head off to go search for, as he is off searching for Sasuke. Tsunade ultimately decides to stay behind because not only is she decently injured from the Chuunin exams and the attack on the village, but Orochimaru and Dan Katō are both in the hospital and she didn’t want to leave them behind. As Sakura is preparing to head out Jiraiya, who has seen a plethora of failures recently and has been frequently pushed to the side, convinces Sakura to let him tag along. The two find Naruto pretty late at night. He’s decently drunk and is eating ramen while flirting with a group of girls. Jiraiya is left in the room for this interaction (I’ll build on this in the Naruto and Jiraiya post) Sakura talks with him and eventually gives him the proposal—
“Kakashi sensei is dead Naruto. The village needs you to take over and become the fifth Hokage” Sakura demands, straightening herself upwards
“Hokage? Absolutely not,” Naruto laughed, placing his saki down and kicking his feet up onto the table, “that’s out of the question, y’know-“
Sakura cut him off, “What about your dream? That optimistic loud mouthed knucklehead who swore he was going to be Hokage? Now that dream is finally about to come true and you’re going to refuse? Let it all go?”
“Yeah” Naruto said bluntly, “I just can’t do it. I’m sure you’re much more qualified than me.”
Sakura sighed, “Is this about Sasuke?” She didn’t want to face it, but she knew eventually she’d have to. She didn’t want to give up on him, didn’t want to admit that he was too far gone, but now? Kakashi Hatake was dead, all because of Sasuke. Naruto was going to have to accept that eventually.
“How am I supposed to be Hokage, if I can’t even save one friend?” Naruto’s expression went cold. His words were followed by a long silence, as Sakura felt a tear fall down her face.
“I get it,” she grunted, “I’m sure you know perfectly well that I feel the same way. Because somehow, after all of this time, after everything…I still love Sasuke Naruto. But he killed Kakashi Sensei, he attacked the leaf. You’re the village hero, the nine tails jincuriki, the toad sage, one of the legendary Sanin. But most importantly, you’re Naruto Uzumaki…and you’re the only one who can do this.” There was another short, yet sad, silence, “give up on-“
Naruto snapped himself up from the table, gave Sakura a sad look, before storming off.
That night Naruto meets Jiraiya. One thing leads to another, they encounter Sasuke, and Jiraiya ends up convincing Naruto to agree to become Hokage.
….
In the results of the previous Chuunin exams, Tsunade and Dan are both made Chuunin.
Not long after Orochimaru would flee the village. Naruto dispatches Tsunade, Jiraiya, and a team of two other genin to attempt to stop him. Due to the small size of the group Orochimaru would flee with (of just Suigetsu and himself), as well as Suigetsu’s skills as a shinobi, they slip away very easily. Tsunade and Jiraiya would keep Orochimaru in the back of their minds, but in the end decide to focus on their own goals and ambitions.
Despite her words to Naruto, Sakura can’t allow herself to simply abandon her quest to find Sasuke. However, it’s different now. Rather than “save him” her new goal is more-so to monitor him. Sakura would work out in the field, traveling the land of fire in order to observe Sasuke in an effort to protect the village. Not only that, but she also works to observe a group of rogue ninja known as the Akatsuki, who seem to intend to eventually target Naruto and all the other tailed beasts.
Tsunade convinces Sakura to let her travel with her, in which Sakura would spend this time teaching her medical ninjutsu. They travel for three years and then return to Konoha and ta-da that’s all I got for the girls. Thanks for reading if you made it all this way, more probably in the future.

Godaime Characterization
Note: This became a bit too long but I feel will be useful for those who interact with me.
I’ve been meaning to write this for a while, and now that my keyboard’s finally cooperating, it’s time—
My portrayal of Tsunade is that of someone unapologetically snarky and, at times, delightfully full of herself. But this summer, a nagging doubt crept in: am I depicting her right? Or worse, am I letting my own personality bleed into her characterization?
So, I went back to the source. I rewatched every scene of hers in the anime, scrutinized every manga panel featuring her, and came to a glorious conclusion—the woman is a menace. She’s brutal with her words, smug as hell, and absolutely insists on having the last say. Any reservations I had went straight out the window, and my Tsunade officially became the reigning queen of snark.
That left me wondering: why had I doubted myself in the first place? The answer was clear—fandoms. They’re incredible spaces, no question, but sometimes, fanon bleeds into canon so much that the lines blur. Over time, Tsunade’s portrayal shifted. In fanart and fanfiction, she’s often reduced to either the “drunk grandma” trope or a hypersexualized symbol, and somewhere along the way, her canon personality got lost in the shuffle.
But NOT here. Not on this blog. Tsunade is no one’s trope.
Why is she the way she is?
She’s a prodigy, plain and simple. The fandom tends to forget that sometimes. Tsunade became a Genin at six. Six. By the time most kids are learning to tie their shoes, she was already on her way to revolutionizing the medical field—single-handedly, might I add. She defeated Chiyo, the world-renowned poison specialist, while still in her teens. Let that sink in.
She’s also a Senju. One utterly spoiled by her grandfather. Shinobi royalty, through and through, treated as such from the moment she could walk. The “Hime” title isn’t just for kicks—it holds weight. Even Danzō uses it, and we all know he doesn’t do respect lightly. Tsunade was used to getting her way from an early age and rarely, if ever, heard the word “no.”
Her teammates? Just as guilty. Watch any scene with the three of them, and you’ll see it. Jiraiya and Orochimaru practically invented the art of indulging her. No matter how outrageous or dramatic she was being, they always gave in. They solidified her Hime lifestyle long before anyone else could question it.
And then there’s her clan name—that privilege that few in Konoha could dream of having. When she decided she was done with shinobi life and walked away, leaving the village to wander the world, what happened? Nothing. No hunter-nin were sent after her. Anyone else would’ve had a team on their trail within days, but not her. Being a Senju gave her a free pass.
Here’s the thing: Tsunade likes to have her way. Always has. But the difference? She’s got the skillset to back it up. Honestly, who in their right mind would dare to challenge her?
The Konoha I write is a far cry from the idealized version often found in most fan portrayals. There are no shining heroes here—save for Naruto, the outlier. My depiction leans heavily into the grim reality of what it means to be a shinobi.
What are shinobi, truly? They are assassins, thieves, spies, saboteurs, and manipulators, trained from childhood to master the art of psychological warfare. They operate in shadows, their hands stained with blood, their morality twisted into shapes that serve their purpose. Their loyalty isn’t to some lofty ideal of justice—it’s to their Hokage and their nation. Konoha and Hi no Kuni come first. Always.
To protect those, no act is too foul, no line too sacred. Once they fasten that hitai-ate, they cease to be individuals with their own wants or friendships. They become weapons—willing, obedient tools forged in fire and duty. On missions, there is no room for personal morality, no hesitation over relationships or past bonds. A shinobi of Konoha will burn villages, poison wells, and manipulate lives if the mission demands it.
This is the shinobi world—cutthroat, ruthless, and unrelenting. My Konoha basking in sunlight is more an illusion; in truth, it thrives in the shadows, because that’s what it takes to survive.
As the leader of such people, my Tsunade is no heroine. Her loyalty lies with Konoha—her homeland, her inheritance, her duty—and she will protect it at any cost. This is the essence of leadership in a world as brutal as theirs.
Take, for example, the moment she places a bomb seal on Kakashi and sends him to Hiruko, knowing full well it could mean his death. She hates it but goes through with it. Doesn't hesitate—not because she’s heartless, but because the mission demands it. Protecting Konoha always comes first, no matter the personal toll.
Then there’s Jiraiya. Sending him to Ame wasn’t a decision she made lightly, but it was one she made without faltering. He was the best suited for the mission, and as Hokage, her duty was to assign it. Even when it meant sending her oldest friend to what might as well have been his grave. She hated it, but it was her duty to send the best person for the job, even if it was her best friend.
Tsunade’s choices aren’t about heroism; they’re about survival. That’s the cold reality of leading shinobi.
As Hokage, Tsunade isn’t here to coddle her shinobi. She doesn’t have the luxury of being soft or overly kind—not like Sarutobi was. Her leadership is harsh, but fair, grounded in the cold reality of their world. Konoha’s survival depends on it.
The village has lost too much—too many shinobi, too many elite warriors. The wars, the Kyuubi attack, the Uchiha Massacre, the Suna/Oto invasion… each loss has chipped away at Konoha's strength. The names they’ve lost are legendary: Hatake Sakumo, Kato Dan, Namikaze Minato, Uchiha Fugaku, Orochimaru, Uchiha Shisui, and Uchiha Itachi—shinobi who had the power to solidify Konoha’s reputation as the greatest force in the shinobi world. Now? That power is gone.
Tsunade doesn’t have the luxury to be kind. She doesn’t have the luxury to be gentle. Every decision, every action, must be ruthlessly pragmatic. Konoha can’t show weakness. If it does, every other nation will pounce. They’ll capitalize on it—crush that illusion of Konoha's might.
After their defeat in the Third Shinobi war, Kumo and Iwa were desperate for the chance to topple Konoha. Tsunade knows this better than anyone. And she’s prepared to do whatever it takes to ensure the village’s strength isn’t seen as anything less than absolute.
Her personality as Hokage is often reduced to that of an angry, impatient, sullen woman. That’s the general consensus, isn’t it?
Let’s break that down.
Yes, she’s angry. But why?
It’s because the state of Konoha when she returns as Godaime is a direct affront to everything she’s ever stood for. Konoha is barely hanging on, and it terrifies her. The administration? A disaster. The hospital? Using techniques she’d deemed redundant and inferior more than twenty years ago. The village infrastructure? In shambles. The elite shinobi? Either dead or too wounded to serve. Konoha is bleeding out in every sense of the word, and no one is acknowledging the scale of the damage.
They’re broke. The shinobi who remain are spread thin, and they can’t take missions fast enough. Refusing missions? It’s not an option. The clients they depend on would abandon them, and with that would come the collapse of Konoha’s reputation, its economy, and its power. The other villages are hungry, and they would use this vulnerability to tear them apart.
So what does she do? She sends exhausted, overworked shinobi—people who don’t even know her, who are only loyal to the Hokage title she was suddenly thrust into—on missions. No breaks. No recovery. Physically drained, mentally shattered. Tsunade KNOWS how dangerous it is, how damaging this will be. She knows this could ruin any future relationships with these nin, but she has no other choice.
For Konoha’s survival, for the survival of the Will of Fire and everything it stands for, she has to bury her compassion, stifle the medic within her, and step into a role she never wanted.
Because sometimes, survival doesn’t care about what you want. It only cares about what you’re willing to sacrifice. As a war veteran, she understands that.
She lacks patience. Why? Because while all of this is happening—while her focus should be on pulling Konoha from the brink—the damn council insists on getting in her way. They act like they can push her around, like they can dictate the way things are done—the way things have always been done. Politics. She hates that shit. She doesn’t have time to deal with their petty games. But the village is still unstable. The system is crumbling. So she grits her teeth and tolerates their interference, for now. She knows that once she has a firmer grasp on things, once Konoha is breathing again, she’ll finally be able to shove them all out of her way and take control. Until then, it’s just another battle to survive.
She is sullen. Why? Because in a matter of days, her world has been reduced to a narrow, suffocating window. She’s always been a free spirit—wild, untamed, the kind of woman who craved freedom, who spent the last two decades roaming, choosing her own pace, living without the burden of responsibility. Now, she’s shackled to duty. She understands the weight of the job, the honor, the privilege of the seat her ancestors once held. She respects it, gives it her damned best. But it’s a duty she never wanted. And that realization eats at her, slowly, like a poison she can’t spit out. It takes its toll, grinding her down, moment by moment. This was her brother's dream. Her lovers dream. Her having it is a double edged knife.
She’s back in a village that mirrors the one she left behind, yet it feels so alien. So many faces are missing—comrades, friends, family—gone, never to return. Does anyone else realize that an entire generation—her generation—never made it home from the war? That she’s one of the few survivors, one of the handful of nin out of hundreds? Do they understand the emptiness that lingers in the village, the gaping hole left by those who used to fill it? She does. And it fucking hurts. She barely recognizes anyone here anymore. The ones she does know—Shikaku, Inoichi, Choza, Kakashi, Genma—she remembers them as bumbling, clumsy Gennin and Chūnin. Not as the adults they’ve become. It’s… disorienting. The sharp, bitter jolt of seeing them as grown nin. Something she didn’t expect.
She’s fucking irritated. The state of the village, the crumbling infrastructure, the political cesspool she’s had to wade into—it’s all too much. And it's endless. Paperwork and reports pile up like a mountain she has to climb every damn day. She's forced to get reacquainted with the village she once knew so well, only to realize that it’s changed in ways she could never have imagined. The entire structure has shifted since her absence. The leadership, the economic landscape, the political networks—everything has morphed into something she never trained for, never prepared for.
She was never meant to be Hokage. Hell, she was never trained to be Hokage. She’s a medic, a fighter, a leader by force of will, not by political maneuvering. But now, she’s thrust into this position without warning, without preparation. She’s forced to navigate through a maze of alliances and rivalries, figure out the intricacies of the village’s economy—an economy that’s buckling under the weight of too many wars, too many lost resources—and the cold, calculating clan politics that lurk in the background, waiting to seize any opportunity to further their own agendas.
On top of all this, she has to ensure the day-to-day operations of the village run smoothly. Shinobi still need missions. The people still need security. The economy still needs to turn, even as it teeters on the brink of collapse. All this responsibility weighs on her shoulders, with resources running dangerously low, and no clear path forward.
She’s brilliant, yes. But this? This is a goddamn nightmare. Balancing all these responsibilities with nothing but her sharp instincts and raw determination? It’s like trying to juggle a thousand knives with only one hand. And the worst part? She can’t let it show.
In light of all this—
For most of her shinobi, Tsunade is a no-nonsense, iron-fisted leader. Loyalty isn’t just expected; it’s demanded. Unquestioning. Absolute. These are her subordinates, not her friends, and they will respect that distinction. She doesn’t have the time, the patience, or the luxury to coddle them. Her expectations are high, and she won’t tolerate the slightest hint of insubordination. They’re tools, necessary for the survival of the village—and they better damn well know their place. The fact that the name of each nin that never returns home from mission is carved on her heart is a secret she shares with no other. The longer the list becomes, the less she sleeps.
Then, there are the nin who eventually become part of her inner circle—
The ones who get to see beyond the Hokage title, those fools she’s somewhat at ease with. The idiots who can get away with being obnoxious and absurd around her. They take the brunt of her endless snark and biting insults—don’t mistake it, though, there’s no permanent damage. Just enough to keep them in line and remind them who they’re dealing with. It’s the price they pay for being in her somewhat trusted circle. But then they of course know when to abuse their freedom and when to bow before their leader's will with no questions asked. Tsunade trusts them to know this.
Among this circle, the most prominent is Kakashi—her right hand. She considers him one of her closest friends, despite his tendency to be an irritating enigma. Then there’s Shizune, often seen as Tsunade’s assistant, but her actual role goes far beyond that—she’s an advisor, head of the Hospital, and reformist, shaping the place into something Tsunade would approve of.
Shikaku enters the fold next, stepping up as her left hand, a level-headed voice in the storm.
Then, her guards—Genma, Raido, and Iwashi. They’re stuck with her now, so she may as well make it worth her while to torment them. Genma, in particular, becomes her favorite target. He gets away with being far more obnoxious than the others, but also endures the brunt of her snark and absurd demands.
Anko, the ever-persistent menace, forces her way onto the list. Tsunade doesn’t have the energy to kick her off, so she stays—reluctantly. It’s not like Tsunade can’t handle her, but sometimes, the headache isn’t worth it.
Gai. His eyebrows will forever make Tsunade cringe. And if he cries one more damn time about how much he respects her “power of youth,” she’s going to be the one to make him lose all his hair. She has her limits, and that? That is crossing them.
Izumo and Kotetsu—her favorite jesters. Reliable idiots, the pair of them. She has a soft spot for them. Why? She doesn’t know. She just does, dammit.
Ibiki—Tsunade works closely with the stoic man for weeks and learns to appreciate his dark humor. The man’s got a decent alcohol tolerance, and Tsunade takes a twisted satisfaction in watching him terrorize his subordinates. A kindred spirit if there ever was one.
Shikamaru—Goodness, the Nara kid had no right to be as damn tactical as he was. Besides, he was the only one who could balance out Naruto’s absolute stupidity. Some days, she wonders if the kid's maturity came straight from his smarts or his sheer exhaustion from putting up with everyone else’s nonsense.

@konohagakurekakashi & @minaa-munch I finally got around to this after forever. Cold medicine gives me twitchy fingers. xD

Honestly, I'm a little annoyed that we don't know about who Kakashi's mother is. Like, hey, he's one of the four human main characters. We know the parents of Sasuke, Sakura, and Naruto, we know Kakashi's father, but we don't know his mother. No name, no clan, no appearance. And that's a huge omission.
I have to say, I love Sakumo/Orochimaru and Sakumo/Kaguya. Each of these ships gives me a huge scope for ideas and au. I love it. But at the same time, it makes me want to think of something more real and possible.
I have a theory that Kakashi's mother was a Senju. What do we even know about the fate of the Senju clan? Only that they all died during the two shinobi wars. Honestly, that seems a bit dubious to me. I think there were a few people who married people not from the Senju clan. Like, for example, Kakashi's mother in my theory.
The fact that the Senju clan is best known for their chakra control is what led me to this theory. Kakashi is known for that as well. Yeah, that doesn't mean that anyone with good control is a Senju, but I'm just saying it's very interesting.
Both Kakashi and Tsunade are the last members of their clans. It's very sad and wouldn't it be nice if they were related and were distant relatives? They both wouldn't be so lonely then.
I generally like the idea that Sakumo, Jiraiya, Orochimaru and Tsunade knew each other and even participated in some missions together. We're told in canon that Sakumo's power level can be compared to theirs, then why not?
Hence my au. Tsunade left the village sometime towards the end of the second shinobi war, didn't she? So, she, upon learning that Sakumo committed suicide, decides to gather Kakashi with her from the village. Because Kakashi remains her last living relative and she's not ready to lose him as well.
She arrives just as the villagers begin to poison and abuse him. His, Kakashi's, child, because of his father's "misbehavior". Tsunade sees that Kakashi is slowly starting to break down from the inside and darkness begins to appear in his heart. So she takes him away from that hell. She tells the hokage it's for training. She threatens if she has to. But she doesn't let Kakashi go and she doesn't give up. They leave the village and Kakashi travels the world with Tsunade and even learns things from her? Imagine Kakashi with a byakugo and a kimono, omg. That's beautiful.
This au becomes twice as interesting if it's also so (adored by me) time traveling. Imagine it's Kakashi(what age? Hmm, good question) traveling through time and he gets to the moment when he finds his father's body. Kakashi experiences the same nightmare again. He thinks back to what the future holds for him and how it could have been fixed. The obvious place to start is with Minato's team, but how? What is there to do?
Kakashi tries to make plans and at one point he receives an offer from Tsunade. Kakashi is shocked, he doesn't remember this last time. What was different then?
Kakashi at first thinks of refusing because he needs to save the world, he needs to save his near and dear ones, he has so much to do, but then.... Kakashi wonders if things wouldn't be easier if Kakashi just disappeared from Team Minato's life? It would change the story. There would be no Rin's crush on him, no Obito's jealousy and they would get a third teammate, much better than Kakashi. There won't be fights and problems. Kakashi isn't running away from his problems and troubles, he'll still find ways to deal with Zetsu, Madara and Danzo, but just away from Minato's team.
Kakashi thinks about it all night and comes to the decision that he accepts Tsunade's offer. After all, what in the life of Team Minato would his absence change? Maybe Rin and Obito will get together and there won't be a cannabi bridge mission, there won't be all that disaster in that form. Minato will be with them. It'll all be good, right?
That au can add a third layer to this one. A few months after Kakashi leaves the village, a certain little Uchiha Obito starts having strange dreams. In them, there's a team featuring an ash-haired boy and his childhood friend Rin. There is rivalry. There is blood and death and madness. There are red clouds and the moon. There is Kakashi, who Obito doesn't see in the village until the time of Team Minato. And then there is the time of Team Minato's formation and Obito wonders who is this third comrade of theirs and where is Kakashi?
I like the concept of Kakashi and Obito going 1+1 share when traveling through time. Because Obito wanted to see the future through their shared eye, so why wouldn't he see that very future while in the past? Their connection is beautiful. Will Obito get all his memories and his identity back? That's a good question.
P. S. If anyone decides to further explore this theory, this au, or write a fic, flag to you. I'm all for you!

Naruto au where Jiriya comes back to Konoha to adopt Naruto like he promised to do but somewhere along the way they get Tsunade back in the village and Tsunade becomes Sasukes caretaker (She adopts him but neither are comfortable calling eachother mother and son yet so they stick with "The Lady in my house who cooks bad" and "the brat who doesn't appreciate good meals when he sees them")
Then at some point when Naruto and Sasuke are genins Jiriya and Tsunade get married and now Naruto and Sasuke have to live together. There's a really emotional scene of Sasuke having to say goodbye to his old home and its like "oh god its really all over they're not coming back I'm not coming back I can't just leave them behind I need to let go but I just can't do it" and Tsunade calls Sasuke her son for the first time and he totally doesn't cry!!!
Forest of death but Sasuke Sakura and Naruto already know who Orochimaru is, Sasuke knows absolutely not to trust him so the curse mark doesn't really affect him too horribly but it does lead for a lot of tension in the group. Also after being the girlboss she was born to be Sakura decides she can't be protected anymore and bc Tsunade is like, right there she asks her if she can be trained and Tsunade says yes obv. Hiruzen dies purely because i hate that guy but Orochimaru also dies to Jiriya and Tsunade also because I really really hate him too.
Theres the time when Kisame and Itachi visit Konoha and Itachi hears Naruto refer to Tsunade as his mom and Sasuke as his brother and hes GOT to know what's going on so he spies on them and learns that Sasukes been adopted but he sees this moment of Tsunade announcing she's pregnant (what a shocker she was 🤏 that close to never having to worry about pregnancy ever again but Jiriya just couldn't keep it in his pants for another 2 years, the manwhore.) And itachi sees Sasuke realising he's gonna be an older brother and being super happy about it saying he's gonna be the best big brother ever (Hades hangs his laundry on the bar its so low all he's gotta do is not kill everyone and he's already better than Itachi) and Itachi is like "ah man but how's he gonna get stronger there's no hatred in there i need him to do my suicide for me!!!" But Jiriya noticed he was there and confronts him a little later but see Jiriyas a little smarty pants and has been living in Konoha for years and always knew there was something fishy with the massacre and danzo so Jiriya just bluffs his way to the truth (Phoenix is that you?) And he's like "look Sasukes ur brother but he's my son now, he has enough nightmares and enough trauma and enough trust issues to last him a lifetime feck off and if you wanna die so bad then kill yourself and don't use your brother as a tool for ur suicide" <- I may be projecting a bit but ANYWAYS Itachi and Kisame have to leave Konoha bc Naruto is under watch by Kakashi, Tsunade and Jiriya and they are NAWT winning that fight.
Skip to shippuden era Sasuke v/ Itachi fight but Itachis been skipping out on his meds!! (He did it because he's a nerd loser guy who thinks "oh man sasuke isn't angry or filled with hatred and overall living a really terrible and unfufilling life he's probably so weak i need to stoop down to his level") Oh no so hes really super sick and Sasuke has picked up a lot from Tsunade so he knows Itachis time is near and although Sasuke really wants Itachi dead he's like "fuck it, dude you absolutely ruined my life and gave me trauma I'm never ever going to recover from sometimes I still wonder if my friends or family are going to turn around and kill me do you know how fucked that is why the hell did you even do that I don't want some bullshit excuse tell me" like he absolutely chews that loser (derogatory) out and Itachi is like, "kk ill tell u everything" and Sasuke is RUINED and he takes like a long 30 minutes of silence between the two just sitting there for Sasuke to go like "Itachi, I don't... think I forgive you. But I understand why you did it. I would have done it too" And its very emotional!! That moment is all Itachi needs bc he was sort of barely clinging onto life as it is and now that he's got peace he can finally die and they share a really sweet moment before he goes :(
And when Sasuke gets home and cries, (this time he can admit it cause he's a big boy now and understands it's okay to feel) to Tsunade he calls her his mother for the first time and its so ahaishahabnabsjsjnd
Anyways they all lived happily ever after the end no wars no nothing all over bye bye

Students' students AU part 2
Part 1
So following Tsunade's return, the village falls back to a peaceful mood. Missions begin to be assigned again, the sick and wounded from the Konoha crush attack are treated, and everyone seems ready to accept the new Hokage. But Orochimaru still wants his Uchiha and sends the sound four after him.
Anko protects Sasuke and fights off the four of them, and because he didn't have to stay in the hospital after Itachi showed up, she had been able to guide and train Sasuke here and there so he helps the fight as well.
They do win, - Anko nearly dies during the combat, and that gets her to unlock her mark's second stage.
And that's Sakura's first personal contact with a medic ninja, Shizune. She is obviously impressed and grateful she was there to help Sasuke, but most of all she is shocked Kakashi ran to her for help. Sakura is smart, too smart for her own good even. She knows her sensei is great and skilled, but she's noticed the difference in treatment between her and the boys, even if Kakashi doesn't mean to.
He protects her more, praises her more, but also pushes her less, lectures and guides her less than the boys. She understood it as part of being a 'kunoichi' - she would have to always work harder if she wanted to be on the same level as her male teammates.
So hearing that another woman - another kunoichi like her - was Kakashi's go to for help, for any matter, had Sakura intrigued.
And that's how she decides she wants that for her. She wants to be the kind of ninja and have the kind of skill that would have her sensei, her teammates and anyone else depending on her. Rushing to her for help. She decided to give being a medic ninja a try - and Shizune is more than happy to help with that.

Okay I hate it when Sakura stans do this.
No Sakura is not an example of “hard work” THAT title clearly belongs to Lee.
Sakura was supposed to be naturally talented to begin with which is why they highlighted her not having to cheat on the written chunin exam. THAT is her special ability and while I admit that she was shafted from showing off that ability in the fourth war arc in favor of being a Sasuke fangirl, this is a huge flaw nonetheless and shows just how abilities can be overshadowed by arrogance and selfishness. I guess in this way Sakura is a good example of wasted potential vs everyone else in the series besides Tenten (whose wasted potential is more so her lack of screen time rather than missed/botched opportunities) and it only highlights how little Kishimoto cared about her when she doesn’t get redemption AND gets REWARDED for her selfishness by being canon with Sasuke.
Sakura is just what she always wanted to be, an Uchiha c*m dumpster and blank vessel to rebuild the clan. Which btw failed because how tf does Sarada need glasses???? 😂
It’s just hilarious to me that compared to Sasuke

Who FAILED as an Uchiha at first.
And Naruto

Who also FAILED at first
Are being called “special” compared to someone who probably did the least work out of the team. Work that didn’t even start until the LAST chapters of part one when she was picked up by Tsunade because she was the last one left out of the main team without a master.
Like really? Sasuke and Naruto who started working on being ninjas BEFORE Sakura even decided to be one had to work less than her????
They try this shit with Hinata too. Hinata who was trained since she was in diapers before even getting into the academy worked less than Sakura who was smart from the get go even though she never trained or even belonged to a clan that would’ve began her training long before the academy????
Sakura isn’t a damn hard worker, she’s a Mary Sue

My Ideal Konoha Twelve Team Line-Ups
I got bored and decided to make a post about my ideal Konoha Twelve team line-ups that I think would do best for most to all the character, both students and teachers.
Team 7 Sensei: Kakashi Hatake Students: Sasuke, Hinata, Kiba
This one and Might Guy's teams were a bit on the difficult side because Kakashi and Sasuke have to go hand-in-hand due to Kakashi's Sharigan. But I managed. I think this team fits best because it has a similar dynamic to canon but different due to Hinata's shyness.
I think this dynamic works because two out of the three students will be learning their Clan's fighting style instead of really branching out to begin with. This gives Kakashi more opportunity to train Sasuke while the other two aren't neglected. Kakashi could help Hinata with her self-confidence since I think his easy-going yet hardened personality toward being a Shinobi could work similar to Kurenai's care for Hinata. Kakashi also has a contract with Ninja Dogs and those summons can help Kiba with his training to go with his Clan's training. Plus, Kakashi may be pressured to be a better teacher due to having two Clans hounding on him about their children's training.
In combat, the team is pretty well-rounded, two strong taijutsu users, and two well-rounded individuals that usually stick to using ninjutsu.
Team 8 Sensei: Kurenai Yuhi Students: Sakura, Neji, Choji
Again, I feel like this team has a similar dynamic to Team Seven that could work pretty well in the long run for each of the students. Kurenai is a teacher who likes to be involved in her students' lives and might be able to help them get over their respective issues mentally.
Similar to the last team, this one works well because two out of three members are going to be learning from their Clans, giving Kurenai more opportunity to help Sakura get out of her fangirl phase and become a proper kunoichi. She can also take advantage of Sakura's amazing chakra control to make her into an incredible genjutsu mistress like Kurenai herself. And when Sakura does study under Tsunade, she'll have two teammates that can help her develop her taijutsu skills to go with her super strength.
In combat, it's a pretty decent unit. The two genjutsu users can trap the enemy for the taijutsu users to close the distance and finish them off.
Team 9 Sensei: Might Guy Students: Rock Lee, Shino, Ino
This one was another team that gave me trouble because I had to make the teams while keeping in mind that Lee has to be on Guy's team. I think it came out pretty well and could work as a different type of the Ino-Shika-Cho formation.
Like the last two, this team will have two people that learn more from their Clans, giving Might Guy the chance to teach Lee while the other two aren't as neglected. He'll also be the type of person that will force Ino out of the fangirl mindset through his training methods. Shino is a character I think really works for any team due to his nature.
Like I said, in combat, this team could work similar to the Ino-Shika-Cho formation but with better tracking thanks to Shino. Guy and Lee can keep the enemy back while Shino can pin people down with his bugs so Ino can use her family Jutsu. Then Guy and Lee go for the finisher.
Team 10 Sensei: Asuma Sarutobi Students: Naruto, Shikamaru, Tenten
Funny enough, this is the first team I created. I like the team dynamic here because I think each student can learn a lot from Asuma and the atmosphere feels like it would be the friendliest of the four.
This team can really play on each other's strengths. Tenten will only benefit from being with Asuma because he can teach her Chakra Flow and possibly other techniques to enhance the danger of her weapons. Asuma had already taught Naruto before in canon and is one of the few in Konoha with a Wind Nature like him. Plus, I headcanon that Asuma is like an uncle to Naruto. Shikamaru will be learning from his family mostly but he has a good relationship with Asuma and his brains will help a lot with the team. Not to mention, if Naruto learns how to share his chakra early, it'll help his teammates' weaknesses from not having massive chakra reserves. This means Tenten can better user her weapons that require large amounts of chakra to use, like the Bashōsen, while Shikamaru will have more chakra to use his Shadow Possession jutsu constantly.
In combat, this is a pretty well-rounded team that focuses on close-range. Asuma is a strong close-range combatant with some ninjutsu options. Shikamaru is smart and can make up strategies while pinning the enemy. Naruto can also make creative plans and overwhelm the opponent with Shadow Clones to at least divert their attention for Shikamaru to trap them. Tenten would make good support with her weapons but a strong fighter close-range when she learns Chakra Flow.

Unexpected Affection
After the Fourth Great Ninja War, Sasuke begins his journey of redemption, but a certain set of (hilarious) circumstances keeps pulling him into awkward encounters with Hinata. From accidental dates to sparring sessions gone wrong, the two slowly develop an unlikely friendship… which might just turn into something more. Chapter 1 A Favor Gone Wrong
After the war, things were… weird. The villages were rebuilding, friendships were rekindling, and, most bizarrely, Sasuke Uchiha found himself being invited to things. Barbecues, reunions, training meet-ups—he didn’t understand why people suddenly wanted him around.
Which is exactly how he ended up in this mess.
"Uchiha-san, can you do me a favor?"
Sasuke turned his head slightly, finding himself face-to-face with none other than Hyuga Hinata.
"A favor?" His voice was flat, uninterested.
Hinata fidgeted slightly but held her ground. "Yes. Lady Tsunade asked me to retrieve a scroll from a merchant outside the village, but I have to train with Hanabi today. Since you're not busy, I thought maybe…"
Sasuke blinked. Since when did people assume he wasn’t busy?
"Why don’t you ask Naruto?" He tossed out the question without much thought.
Hinata instantly went red. "H-He’s on a mission!"
He raised an eyebrow. "Sakura?"
"At the hospital…"
"Tch." Sasuke sighed. He didn't particularly want to run errands, but rejecting her outright felt… unnecessarily rude. Besides, it was just picking up a scroll.
"Fine."
The sheer relief on Hinata’s face was unexpected. "Thank you, Sasuke-kun!" she said, bowing slightly before hurrying off.
It should have been a simple task. Should have been.
The moment Sasuke arrived at the merchant's stall, he realized things had gone south.
"Ah! You must be Hinata's companion!" The merchant beamed. "I have everything set for your date!"
Sasuke's entire soul left his body. "What."
Before he could correct the misunderstanding, the merchant clapped his hands. "Oh, she’s a lucky girl! I’ve seen a lot of couples, but you two will be wonderful together! Here, take these complimentary dango skewers!"
Sasuke glared. "I—"
"Oh, and the tea house down the road has your reserved spot ready! I must say, what a gentlemanly gesture, treating her to tea after this errand!"
Sasuke was this close to setting the whole stall on fire. Instead, he turned sharply and marched toward the Hyuga Compound. He was going to fix this right now.
Unfortunately, fate—and his so-called friends—had other plans.
The moment Sasuke arrived back in Konoha with Hinata’s scroll, he was ambushed.
By Naruto, Sakura, Ino, Shikamaru, Chouji, Kiba, Shino, and Sai.
Naruto, as per usual, was the loudest. "OI! SASUKE! I heard you went on a date with Hinata!!"
Sasuke stopped mid-step. His eyes twitched. What.
Shikamaru, leaning lazily against a tree, smirked. "Tough luck, Sasuke. Looks like the whole village knows now."
Sakura, on the other hand, looked like she had just been stabbed. "Wait. Wait. You—You went on a date… with Hinata?"
Sasuke was already mentally preparing his escape route.
"It wasn’t a date," he deadpanned. "It was an errand."
"But you bought her dango, right?" Ino grinned mischievously.
Sasuke glared. "I was tricked."
Kiba snorted. "Man, I always knew you had weird tastes, but I didn’t think you’d go after Hinata!"
Meanwhile, Shino, ever the quiet observer, simply adjusted his glasses. "If Sasuke is courting Hinata, I would have expected a more strategic approach. This was… inefficient."
Sai, who had been watching with an unnerving smile, tilted his head. "Ah, so Sasuke has finally decided to engage in romantic relationships. How uncharacteristically human of you."
Sasuke hated all of them.
Chouji, meanwhile, was busy eating a bag of chips, unfazed. "As long as I still get free barbecue when we all go out, I don’t really care who dates who."
Naruto was laughing hysterically. "Man, I never expected you and Hinata, but hey! If it makes you less of a grump, maybe it's a good thing!"
"Let me be very clear," Sasuke said, voice dangerously low. "I did not go on a date with Hinata. It was an errand. There was no romantic intent. If anyone spreads another rumor, I will use my Sharingan on them."
Silence. Then—
"So you’re saying," Shikamaru mused, smirking, "there was romantic potential?"
Sasuke was going to commit murder.
-
Hinata sighed, staring at her reflection in her bedroom mirror.
The rumors had spread like wildfire. By the time she got home, Neji’s old teammates were already teasing her about her "mysterious Uchiha romance."
She groaned, covering her face.
It wasn’t like she didn’t admire Sasuke. He was strong, dedicated, and—if she were honest—had a certain quiet charm. But they were nothing alike. He was brooding and intense, while she preferred peace and warmth.
Still, the image of Sasuke, utterly exasperated yet standing up for her against their ridiculous friends, made her smile.
Maybe this situation wasn’t so bad… right?
-
Sasuke lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling, wondering at what point in his life he had lost complete control.
Maybe if he left the village again, the rumors would die down.
...Except he’d promised Naruto he wouldn’t leave. "Tch."
Maybe this was his punishment for all the past crimes he committed.
Either way, he had a bad feeling that this was only the beginning.
