i'm still in the starter mood but i raise a little sad: Kaeya visiting places that he used to play in with Diluc, old abandoned caves that he snuck in alone and ventured in with his little wooden sword, curious about the world, finding little old treasures that he stashes in a box as a kid and he eventually forgot as he grew.

He finds these places much smaller than what he remembers.

The caves are still easy to access, but all the mystery and excitement is gone from the walls and twists and turns. The beach him and Diluc used to train on may lap at his feet and legs like it did when they were little... but the happiness of these days, the laughters and the parrying of wooden swords can no longer be felt in the air. The sparkles that ripple over the waves, no matter how bright, seem to have lost their meaning.

After dusting the box of trinkets and examining them one by one, the memories linked to each piece no longer speak to him. Everything is simply a box of dusty, old things that cannot evoke the happiness behind the memories of each one of them.

If the happiness is gone from the memories, does it mean that he has grown, or that he's empty?

Today's patient encounter of the day at the anesthesia screening:

Lady comes in to get okayed by the anesthesiologist (see, me) for a minor and really not urgent surgery. Lady has a blood pressure of 220/110 Hgmm. After giving her the appropriate rapid acting medication, the new BP is 217/110 Hgmm. I say no to the surgery and send her to see her GP urgently*

Lady: You have such a nice and calming personality! I can already feel my blood pressure going down

Me: Thank you. I'm still not letting you pass, but nice try

*disclaimer she had no clinical signs of hypertensive crisis, and after checking her history, apparently she basically had been living day after day with such a BP for at least several months, if not years..
