Having A Security Guard At A Business
Small businesses have to manage the fact that thefts and other crimes can happen on business premises. Many businesses, such as convenience stores, banks, and retail stores, maybe a target for criminals and petty thieves than other forms, but a huge selection of businesses decide to hire security guards. Guards may be used to prevent crime, maintain security, and help clients and employees. Business owners should evaluate the benefits of employing a security guard prior to making the decision to bring one on board.
Big businesses such as Google, for instance, employ security guards to make certain that no offenders enter their secured premises since they happen to store important personal information of millions of people all over the globe.
Banks, retail shops, and supermarkets employ security guards from personal security services like Champion National Security to make certain that their money is secure and all the people who enter their premises are safe and secured.
Additionally, the mere presence of security guards is going to have any criminal think twice about doing any criminal action in order that they also act as a deterrent to crime.
Sense of Security The existence of a security guard at a business can offer peace of mind and a feeling of security to the business owner, employees, and clients. Employees who work in high-risk regions are more effective and easier to keep when they do not need to worry about personal security. Additionally, it lets customers know that you're concerned about their security and prepared to take action to ensure it. This might be especially important for businesses that deal in very high-end merchandise or are situated in high-crime places.
Tumblr media
Prevention Just having a security guard present is a wonderful deterrent to crime. Thieves will think twice about targeting a business that has uniformed protection. Professional guards are trained to search for suspicious activity immediately. They can evaluate a situation and respond to security breaches. A guard is a greater visual deterrent than simply camera surveillance or a standard security system. It sends a message to potential offenders that you're serious about the security of your business.
Customer Service A guard may person a front desk or work as a sentry to control access to an area. This can mean that there's a significant amount of interaction with customers and clients. Guards may have the ability to help direct people to find products and get to the ideal place in a business. Guard may also be available as escorts for both clients and employees for their cars after dark. Hiring personable and competent guards lets you communicate your business is protected and customer-oriented.
Handling Crime Security guards can get varying levels of instruction in regards to actively react to a crime. Some can take down details and contact the authorities. Some might have the ability to detain suspects. It's up to the business to determine whether to have an armed or unarmed guard and what processes should be set up for handling a defendant should a crime occur. Hiring a trained and accredited guard from a respectable company can make certain that the guard behaves sensibly and economically when confronted with criminal activity on business premises.
Monitoring A security professional could be employed to track video surveillance, check credentials, check for contraband, or restrict access to an area. A security guard may have specific objectives, like watching for shoplifters, keeping your eye on the grounds after hours, and opening or closing a business for the day.

Best Video Camera For Sports
Given how far the most recent mobile cameras have come, it is definitely possible to picture sports with your cell phone. But if you're trying to catch more professional-looking footage which can be published online, you'll certainly want to explore different choices.
Now for most of us common folk, purchasing a $50,000 Sony HDC-4300 camcorder and $25,000 broadcast zoom lens is only out of this question. But then again, the majority of us are not responsible for broadcasting another NFL Super Bowl or MLB World Series to millions of viewers.
Due to enormous developments in camera technology in addition to the explosion in amateur filmmaking and vlogging area, we are really quite spoiled for choice. There are loads of video cameras at each budget which may be used to capture fast-paced sports arenas.
To help you find your perfect sports movie camera, I will first take you through the many kinds of cameras to think about and then list my favorites that are different. In the end, I will equip you with a few excess buying tips to be certain that you get the most from your new camera.
Types of Video Camera
Here are the most common ones that you will want to consider:
Smartphone Flagship smartphones such as the iPhone 11 Guru, Huawei P30 Guru, and Google Pixel 4 all compete on camera quality. Their cameras are excellent and you do not need to be worried about bringing along your camera equipment.
Tumblr media
Camcorder In its heyday, the camera was the camera of choice for recording key family moments and your children batting in their little league matches. With the advent of digital cameras and iPhones, budget translators are nowhere near as prevalent as they once were. However they still have their strengths: they are lightweight, simple to use, and have exceptionally high optical zoom capabilities for the purchase price.
Action Camera The action camera has the same meaning as the GoPro, something that needs no introduction. Tiny, strong, and ready to be used with all sorts of accessories, they are perfectly suited to recording extreme sports such as wakeboarding, mountain biking, and rock climbing.
Mirrorless Cameras They are gradually replacing DSLRs for photography and in regards to the video they are simply better. Because they have larger sensors than compact cameras or user camcorders, their picture quality is better and they fare better in low-light problems. They can be paired with different interchangeable lenses to take care of every sort of situation, which makes them the most flexible type of video recording equipment.
DSLRs DSLRs are excellent for taking photos but for technical reasons do not perform in addition to mirrorless cameras when it comes to shooting video. Cheaper DSLRs are usually confined to 1080p@30fps and their viewfinders become blocked with their mirror when recording. High-end ones like the Canon EOS 1D can take 4K@60fps footage, but you wind up paying an unnecessary premium for the luxury.
Professional Camcorders These are the finest in the business but cost a couple of thousand dollars at the very least. They're used by film crews and TV broadcasting studios and are by no means practical for the typical home user. If you came searching for professional camera comparison, this list is not for you!

Best Waterproof Camera In 2020
The best waterproof cameras enable you to take your photography on adventures to places other cameras can not reach. Whether you simply need a waterproof camera to the shore, or you would like to have an underwater camera for undersea adventures, there are loads of alternatives around (and many at great prices).
Hardy and well-protected, watertight cameras permit you to explore fearlessly and capture clearly memorable images of submerged subjects. Many are also shockproof, crushproof, and freezeproof, giving you the ultimate in shooting flexibility.
So how to decide on the best waterproof camera for you? Assuming you are not just trying to find the most effective cheap camera, there are a couple of questions to answer. Do you need to shoot photos or video, or both? How important is image quality to you, and do you will need a quick burst mode to capture moving subjects?
The best waterproof cameras in 2020 When we say "waterproof camera" we can indicate quite a few things, so it is important to define our terms. There are two main popular kinds of waterproof cameras: watertight compacts and activity cameras.
Waterproof compacts often resemble an ordinary compact camera, with the major difference being that they are, well, waterproof. They are normally marked out by identifying bright coloring (useful if you drop them submerged ), and the chief advantage they have over action cameras would be the choice of an optical zoom lens, enabling you to get closer to your subjects without suffering the loss of image quality.
Action cameras such as GoPros have their benefits too though. They are generally much smaller than watertight compacts, which makes them lighter and easier to mount by means of a chest harness or helmet mount or similar. The best action cameras also tend to have better video specs, offering pristine 4K at high frame rates, which many watertight compacts currently lack.
Tumblr media
We have divided our guide into the most effective waterproof compacts and the best action cameras, and we have also thrown a few disposable film cameras in there also -- as this old-school solution is fantastic value for occasional submerged use.
We are going to keep dedicated dip cases for cameras for another buying guide because these are for serious dive experts only, but we can show you 12 other methods to start your adventures in underwater photography. And we can help with the price, too -- you will see today's lowest prices below also.
Olympus Tough TG-6 The Olympus TG series has a sterling reputation among the challenging camera marketplace, not just for being satisfactorily specced to handle tough conditions, but also equipped with impressive imaging and video technology. The Raw-shooting, 4K-capable TG-6, is a fairly minor update on the former TG-5 but includes some nifty new features like enhanced LCD resolution and a new Underwater Microscope mode for getting in close. Producing 4K video at 30fps and offering the choice to shoot whole HD video at 120fps for super-slow-motion, the TG-6 also includes a generous 25-100mm optical zoom lens that lets you get closer and closer to the action. It has got a chunky handgrip offering a secure grip on the camera, while the internal zoom mechanism means the lens never protrudes from the body, protecting it from knocks and bumps. Straightforward but sophisticated, the TG-6 is quite simply the most effective waterproof camera around at this time.
Nikon Coolpix W300 If you are a deep-water explorer, this is your pick of the best waterproof digital cameras. The Nikon W300 is rated to depths of 30m, outstripping most waterproof cameras, and it includes a barometer that offers useful underwater data like elevation and thickness, in addition to electronic compass. Bluetooth functionality is also on board, and this pairs well with Nikon's SnapBridge technology for rapid image transfer. Video shooters will also welcome the accession of 4K video into the W300's toolkit, and the generous shockproof score of 2.4m means it is extra protected against bumps and knocks. While the shortage of Raw support is a shame, if you are content to stay with JPEGs you will find it to be a great all-rounder for adventurous underwater adventures.
Ricoh WG-60 Here is the Swiss army knife of cameras that are tough, equipped with ring lights around its own lens which function as a flashlight in addition to a macro light, enabling you to see what you are doing underwater as well as maintain your topics illuminated. It has got a fair few nifty features that make it worth consideration. The microscope mode lets it focus at distances as close as 1mm, while the Handheld Night Snap captures several pictures of a low-light scene in rapid succession and combines to create a blur-free composite image. This is all housed in a body with severe protections, able to remain submerged in 14m of water for up to two hours. A newer Ricoh WG-70 is coming on the marketplace -- but now the WG-60 remains the better value.

WHO Says Airborne Coronavirus Transmission
For months, the World Health Organization (WHO) has stated COVID-19 spreads mainly via direct contact with large respiratory droplets, like those expelled in a sick person's cough or sneeze. In a letter released this week in Clinical Infectious Diseases, 239 scientists say the agency could possibly be wrong.
It's only the most recent chapter in a continuing tug of war between the WHO and the remainder of the public-health world.
The new letter, which has been co-written by a WHO consultant and reviewed by experts from over 30 countries, claims the WHO and other health authorities aren't paying sufficient attention to airborne COVID-19 transmission--that is, infection via inhaling tiny respiratory droplets that may linger in the atmosphere.
WHO officials acknowledged that possible route of transmission in a press conference Tuesday, after the letter was published, but said it continues to accumulate evidence. "We've been talking about the possibility of airborne transmission and aerosol transmission among the modes of transmission of COVID-19," Maria Van Kerkhove, the WHO's technical guide for COVID-19, stated.
Studies of different viruses completed prior to the pandemic have"demonstrated beyond any reasonable doubt" which droplets expelled by ill individuals can"remain aloft in the air and pose a threat of exposure at distances beyond 1 to 2 [meters] from an infected person," the letter states. More recent research suggests the exact same is true of SARS-CoV-2, the virus which causes COVID-19. In some reported cases, people have gotten sick after being in the same room as an infected person, even if they did not have close or ongoing contact.
Consider it like cigarette smoke, says Linsey Marr, a professor of civil and environmental engineering at Virginia Tech and one of the letter's signatories. The cloud is the most concentrated around individual smoking, but additionally, it disperses and drifts through the room.
Tumblr media
The WHO's COVID-19 advice has addressed airborne spread in health care environments because some processes can aerosolize the virus, but stopped short of calling it a threat to the general public.
The letter's 239 signatories say that is not good enough. Even very straightforward advice, like keeping doors and windows open when possible, could help, she adds.
There is nothing to prevent cities or nations from codifying these kinds of precautions by themselves. But as the world's preeminent worldwide health authority, the WHO's words--and silence--take the weight. If the WHO does not publicly recognize risks like aerial transmission, "it only gives naysayers more fodder to deny the fact," Topol says.
The letter is simply the most recent example of this roiling tension between the WHO and the broader scientific community.
The fast-moving COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the WHO's weak areas. To begin with, the underfunded and overburdened worldwide health agency can't enter countries to perform fieldwork without consent and relies on its member countries to present much of the data used in its analyses.
The WHO also moves with the slow pace and risk aversion of a bureaucratic organization, even if the world is demanding new and better information regarding the coronavirus daily.
That institutional care helps explain why it took the WHO until June 5 to urge that individuals in high-transmission regions wear cloth face masks in public--a recommendation which was, by then, already standard in many countries and cities.
Despite holding press briefings virtually daily, the WHO has also stumbled when communicating with the general public. Within an oft-criticized tweet from January, by way of instance, the WHO announced that "Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese government have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel #coronavirus.”

Bubonic Plague In China
A town in northern China has reported suspected cases of bubonic plague this Saturday. The disease killed about 12 million in India as it happened in 1896.
New Delhi: Bayannur, a town in northern China, was on high alert after a suspected case of Bubonic plague was reported Saturday. According to state-run People's Daily Online, police from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region declared a level III warning of plague prevention and control.
Local authorities declared that the warning period will last until the end of 2020 because the plague ran the danger of spreading.
The general public should enhance its self-protection consciousness and ability, and report abnormal health conditions immediately," the government declared. Xinhua news agency, another state-run agency, reported on 1 July that two suspected cases of the Bubonic plague, which were listed in Khovd province in Western Mongolia, were verified by labs.
The confirmed cases were of a 27-year-old resident and his 17-year-old brother who'd eaten marmot meat. Following their cases came to light, health officials urged people not to eat the meat. Up to now, 146 people who'd been connected with them have been isolated and are being treated.
Bubonic plague and its symptoms The Bubonic plague is a bacterial disease that is transmitted by rodents and fleas. It's a zoonotic disease, so it can jump from animals to people.
It follows that one infected person can spread the disease to 5-7 people. The continuing Covid-19 pandemic's R0 is between 1 and 2.
The first confirmed record of a plague pandemic dates back to 541 AD, known as the Plague of Justinian, where an estimated 50 million people died over two centuries.
The disease usually spreads from insects who have bitten infected animals like mice, rats, rabbits, and squirrels. It's found on all continents except Oceania.
Tumblr media
The plague is caused by a bacterium named Yersinia pestis which causes two other ailments -- Septicaemic plague and Pneumonic plague. If not treated in time, the bacteria can kill an adult in less than 24 hours.
This disorder has a case-fatality ratio of 30 percent to 60 percent among the diagnosed, if not treated in time. Septicaemic and pneumonic sorts of this plague can reach a 100 percent fatality. However, the amount could be brought down if patients are diagnosed and treated in time.
A few of the signs of this disease include swollen lymph nodes that could be as big as chicken eggs, fever, chills, coughs, fatigue, muscle ache, etc.. The swollen lymph nodes are called buboes, which is where the title'Bubonic' comes from. The symptoms for this disease begin occurring after an incubation period of 1-7 days.
Black death The Bubonic Plague was called'Black Death' in the Middle Ages. It broke out between 1347 and 1351 and took more lives than any other epidemic or war up until that moment.
The disease originated in China, but the outbreak reached parts of the Mediterranean out there. It's thought that the disease spread through trading boats.
Some reports by Italian poet Giovanni Boccaccio clarify the gruesome nature of the disease at the time: "In women and men alike... At the beginning of the malady, certain swellings, either on the groin or under the armpits... waxed to the bigness of a frequent apple, others to the size of an egg, some more and some less, and these the vulgar named plague-boils.”
The epidemic caused the death of over 50 million people and wiped out around 25 percent to 60 percent of the European population then.
The Great Manchurian Plague Since the reported cases of the plague were connected to Marmot meat, residents of Bayannur have been directed to report findings of sick or dead marmots. Marmots are a sort of large ground squirrel that is consumed in parts of China and Mongolia.
Local hunters were requested by overseas buyers to bring marmot hides. While hunters avoided using infected marmots for food, they did not foresee any harm in using the hide of ill marmots.
Infected marmots are thought to have caused the terrific Manchurian Plague that broke out by 1910 in northeastern China. It's projected that the plagued killed over 63,000 individuals.

JR Smith Goes To LA Lakers
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- JR Smith wasn't ready to wrap up his 15-year NBA career when he left the Cleveland Cavaliers in late 2018, and the ensuing 20 weeks weren't much fun for the veteran shooter.
As a result of a call from the Los Angeles Lakers, Smith is getting another shot on basketball's biggest stage. He joined the Western Conference leaders for workouts a week before they head to Florida for the finish of this NBA season.
The 34-year-old Smith was added to the roster since Lakers starter Avery Bradley declined to return for the remainder of the season, citing family issues. The Lakers needed a thickness replacement who could instantly fit in alongside LeBron James while enjoying a solid wing shield, offering a 3-point hazard and meshing fast as a teammate.
Nobody in recent NBA history matches that job description more perfectly than Smith, who reached four NBA Finals and won the 2016 name when playing James in Cleveland. Known for his ebullient behavior on and off the court, Smith was overjoyed to return in the series.
You obviously don't realize what you've lost until it's gone. I only need to enjoy the moment for what it is, and if it is next year or not again, I only want to enjoy every possible moment I get."
Smith tried out for the Lakers in February when they had another roster spot available, but the group picked veteran Dion Waiters for that slot. Waiters never got to play for Los Angeles prior to the season was suspended, and both veterans are headed to Orlando with the Lakers.
Coach Frank Vogel was pleased with the manner Smith kept himself in shape despite being without a group for an elongated period.
Tumblr media
“I think this is really a great story,” Vogel said. “When you look at a guy who could potentially be out of the league and was a starter on a Finals team a couple of years back, a champion, for him to have the perseverance to remain prepared and give himself this chance, I believe is to be commended."
It is too soon to tell whether Smith will get substantial playing time behind Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Alex Caruso, which will probably fill the vast majority of Bradley's moments.
But Smith's particular set of skills is what the Lakers hunted, especially his livelihood 37.3% shooting 3-pointers. Together with James setting up Anthony Davis as their primary scoring option, the Lakers have tons of chances for well-spaced shooters to get open looks.
Smith is also uncommonly acquainted with James, and he knows what to do if LeBron's competitiveness ramps up in the postseason. Smith and James have played together for years in the NBA's most troublesome situations -- and this time, they won't have to face the Golden State Warriors.
Replacing Bradley with a player of similar value was impossible for Los Angeles.
Though he had a somewhat limited role on offense, his job on the opposite end of the floor helped the Lakers rank third in defensive evaluation (105.5), per NBA.com. Based on NBA.com, Bradley held competitions to 24.6 percent shooting three-pointers and 30.1 percent on shots from over 15 feet.
Smith is going to be the opposite because the majority of his positive contributions will most likely come on offense. He struck 37.5 percent of his three-pointers in 2017-18, which is nearly equal to his career average (37.3 percent).
Spreading the floor is very important to the Lakers since it opens up the paint for James and Anthony Davis. If the team can count on Smith to reach a few long-range jumpers in each game, then he will have served his purpose.

Mayweather vs. McGregor 2
The Irishman decided to retire from UFC -- -- last month in light of the business's decision not to set up a few of the struggles he had his heart set on.
Stating that he fell out of love with the game, for now, the 31-year-old will need to concentrate on something different in the not too distant future. Certainly, until he can solve the issues he's with Dana White and UFC.
The Notorious spent Father's Day last Sunday in Crumlin Boxing Club -- where it all started for him being put through his paces back in Ireland. The fact he is taking that training seriously could be a huge sign.
McGregor said in an interview with ESPN ahead of his UFC fight with Donald Cerrone in January that he has every intention of returning to boxing after his one and only bout with Floyd Mayweather.
I mean, he is flirting with it, and they need all this. And he can go and pick somebody else. And the only reason I lost that bout was 'cause I ready for a back-footed, Philly Shell design of the competition. He then came forward and began pressing, and I was not sinking in my shots like I am now, [with] what my boxing trainers are drilling, specific boxing things they’re drilling into me again.
"I know I beat Floyd, I'd beat Floyd when we re-matched, when we rematch," McGregor told Ariel Helwani.
When McGregor announced that he was retiring once more, Mayweather pounced on the statement and said if McGregor would like to have a rematch, he could have one. I thought you needed to beat the best? Well, if you choose to return, I will be waiting to punish you."
Tumblr media
There's also been discussion that McGregor might confront against Mayweather's legendary adversary Manny Pacquiao.
It is thought the welterweight legend would love to finish his career in a similarly lucrative manner that Mayweather did with McGregor and he is very interested in that struggle. Discussing two years ago, Pacquiao revealed his camp was in discussions with McGregor's camp.
From the interview McGregor failed with ESPN before, he confessed talks had gone on with Pacquiao and he's interested in making it happen, just not yet. Talking of Malignaggi, that is apparently the feud that has never gone away.
It all began with the pair sparring from the build-up to McGregor's boxing debut against Mayweather and the Irishman not only said he dropped Malignaggi but then released video footage of it.
Not surprisingly, Malignaggi, a former two-weight world champion, did not appreciate the lack of respect shown and has campaigned to combat McGregor since.
Talking to talkSPORT past September, the 39-year-old confirmed he would come out of retirement to confront the Irishman.  Totally, I'd fight him winner takes all, I have said that for decades. Whoever loses does not get a penny, I would be all for that.
FLOYD MAYWEATHER vs CONOR MCGREGOR 'The Notorious' one was halted in the tenth round of what turned out to be a predictably one-sided contest. The next time around, with the possibility of Mayweather going into McGregor land, made the battle even more intriguing.
Battling in four-ounce gloves without shoes rather than being allowed to kick, elbow, knee, or takedown could have abandoned the actual fight itself with a whole lot to be desired for boxing fans.
It would have essentially Floyd been stipulating a boxing game within an eight-sided ring with smaller gloves. However, it would have given the prior pound for pound king every prospect of getting success in the struggle.
Potentially, only a select batch of fans would have been interested in seeing what's a glorified boxing game.

Outdoor Oven Idea
In among the world's earliest excavated Neolithic villages, every home had a domed mud oven. Any refractory dome which has a hole cut into it (so you can heat the oven with an inner flame ) will cook pizza and other foods once the fire is still burning. However, the greatest power of the domed oven is the dome functions as a battery, absorbing heat while it's being fired. Therefore, after the fire has expired, you can sweep out the embers and bake bread and casseroles with the stored heat radiating to the oven from the dome. When the oven is almost cool, you can dry wild mushrooms, herbs, and fruit indoors.
The oven I advise you to build is made from powdered clay - fireclay - and sand. It heats fast; you can begin baking dinner in 15 to 20 minutes while the fire is still burning in the oven and reach a complete shooting after about an hour and a half. While the shell is thin in comparison with brick, it is so well-insulated under the ground and over the dome, it can be used for days on a single shooting. In summer, after making a pizza dinner, even if I shut the door and put insulation in the front of it, my oven will nearly always be at least 400 degrees Fahrenheit in the morning -- still hot enough for me to bake bread that day. And, its temperature will still be greater than 200 degrees from the next morning.
Tumblr media
I constructed my oven on a desk made from the branches and trunk of a backyard plum tree. I was motivated by ovens I found in Italy which were built on platforms made from chestnut trees. This is my aesthetic; you will need your oven to reflect your aesthetic. A friend made his oven foundation from pallets, putting his oven with an angle on the tabletop. A wooden base can be finished with stucco or siding, or constructed with dovetail joints and contrasting woods. You don't want the structural strength of a masonry foundation, but if your aesthetic tends that way, then construct a rock base.
Choosing a Site Whether you construct the oven I propose or another design, I encourage you to prioritize place. To pick your website, imagine cooking in the oven and serving your loved ones and guests. An oven that is not used is only an outdoor ornament! My initial ovens were too far from the kitchen I used them half a dozen times annually. My existing oven is 20 feet from the kitchen. It's as simple to specify a table from the oven as it is to place the table in my dining area, and if I neglect salt or olive oil, it is only a couple of steps to the kitchen to get what I want.
Building a Clay Oven I recommend a toaster 36 inches in diameter built on a sturdy wooden table, with a thick layer of insulating material between the oven floor and the wooden tabletop. The oven itself will probably be a dome made out of a mixture of 3 parts sand and one part fireclay which will be 2-1/2 inches thick on the sides and 4 inches thick on the top. You will build the dome above a pile of moist sand. You will then insulate it with two to four layers of ceramic insulation alternating with aluminum foil, and complete it with a coating of stucco, a wetter mixture of fireclay and sand, or straw saturated with wet clay slurry and painted with whitewash. Shield it from the rain with a tarp or a simple roof, and you will have a gorgeous oven that will last a lifetime.v

DIY: Bleach Your Hair
Because of the spread of COVID-19, salons throughout the country have closed, and many have taken their hair in their own hands in the home -- literally. And while it might be fine to eliminate your gel manicure at home or trimming your split ends when you are in a pinch, if there is one thing we advise you not to DIY, it is bleaching your hair.
Concerning bleaching your hair, before we start, let's get 1 thing straight: "Bleaching" the hair does not actually need literal bleach. In accordance with cosmetic chemist Ginger King, a bleach for a household cleaner is far different than hydrogen peroxide that's found in hair lighteners.
At the salon, the whitening procedure entails a very tedious procedure. According to colorist Rachel Bodt, the approach requires sectioning the hair into very little pieces using a precise brush and mixing bonding remedies (such as Olaplex) to the hydrogen peroxide to prevent breakage. These kinds of treatments are not offered to customers, just certified professionals. When the formula is all blended, it is applied to those tiny segments and then the hair is covered in plastic or foil, which will then marinate for 30 to 60 minutes.
That said, bleaching in the home is deemed ill-advised by professionals. In accordance with Bodt, you shouldn't use any kind bleach your hair at home -- even if it's only a root touch-up. "I've heard so many horror stories about customers of mine skillet their hair by trying to simply touch up their roots," says Bodt. The technique for this service is quite meticulous, meaning it needs a whole lot of detail and attention."
Bodt is not the only person with this opinion. New York City-based colorist Aura Friedman, who works with stars like Lady Gaga and Sky Ferreira, also suggests skipping an at-home cleansing effort.
Tumblr media
Rather than risking all that damage, she proposes letting it grow. For people who can't wait till they're back in the salon chair, colorist Nikki Ferrara has some guidance. Exactly like Bodt and Friedman, she advises against customers bleaching their own hair -- rather, she suggests putting highlights around your face to for now.
The brush looks like a lush brush and contains a simple product to control. It is formulated with lemon juice and peroxide, can lighten slowly, and is designed for face-framing highlights and highlighting the ends of your hair," says Ferrara. The peroxide and lemon in the formulation behave as lightening agents, according to King.
According to Ferrara, the brush is a wishbone shape that you can dip in the highlighting formula and drag down the surface of your hair, giving it a dimension here and there to combine your roots with the ends of your hair. Both procedures take about 30 minutes and include everything you want to get the work done. Ferrara suggests buying a gloss with the blonding brush and the balayage kit.
Home hair color is always a gamble and until we can all reach our own hair colorists, it is always better to have a backup strategy. In cases like this, it's a gloss." We adore the Kristin Ess Hair Gloss, it is cheap and makes our hair super shiny, soft, and healthy-looking.

Benefits Of Listening To Music
Listening to music can be entertaining and some research indicates it may even make you healthier. Music could be a source of enjoyment and contentment, but there are quite a few other psychological benefits also.
The idea that music can affect your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors likely doesn't come as much of a surprise. If you have ever felt pumped up while listening to your favorite fast-paced rock anthem or been moved to tears with a tender live performance, then you easily understand the power of music to affect moods and even inspire actions.
The emotional effects of music can be powerful and extensive. Music therapy is an intervention occasionally utilized to promote psychological health, help patients deal with anxiety, and boost psychological well-being. Some research even suggests your taste in music may offer insight into various facets of your personality.
Music may relax the mind, energize the body, and also help people better manage pain. So what other possible benefits might music supply?
Music Can Improve Your Cognitive Performance Research indicates that background music, or music that is played while the listener is mostly focused on a different activity, can improve performance on cognitive tasks in elderly adults.
So next time you're working on a job, think about turning on a little music in the background if you're looking for a boost on your mental performance. Think about choosing instrumental tracks instead of those with complex lyrics, which may wind up being more distracting.
Music Can Reduce Stress It has been suggested that music can help reduce or manage stress. Consider the trend based on meditative music made to soothe the mind and causing relaxation. Luckily, this is one trend supported by research. Listening to music can be an effective means to handle stress.
In one 2013 study, participants took part in one of three states prior to being subjected to a stressor and then taking a psychosocial stress test. Some participants listened to relaxing music, others listened to the noise of rippling water, and the remainder received no auditory stimulation.
Tumblr media
The results suggested that listening to music had an effect on the human stress response, especially the autonomic nervous system. People who had listened to music tended to recover more quickly after a stressor.
Music Might Help You Eat Less Among the most surprising psychological benefits of music is that it could be a useful weight-loss tool. If you are attempting to drop weight, listening to mellow music and dimming the lights may help you accomplish your targets.
The researchers suggest that music and lighting help create a more relaxed setting. Since the participants were more relaxed and comfortable, they might have consumed their meals more slowly and have been more conscious of when they started to feel full.
You may try putting this into practice by playing soft music in your home while you eat dinner. By creating a relaxing setting, you might be more inclined to eat slowly and, thus, feel fuller sooner.
Music Can Improve Your Memory Lots of pupils enjoy listening to music while they study, but is that such a terrific idea? Some feel like listening to their favorite music as they research enhances memory, but others assert that it simply functions as a pleasant diversion.
The study suggests that it might help, but it depends upon various factors that may include the sort of music, the listener's enjoyment of that music, as well as how musically well-trained the listener may be.
One study found that musically trained students tended to perform better on learning evaluations when they listened to impartial music, maybe because this sort of music was distracting and easier to ignore.
Musically naive students, on the other hand, learned better when listening to positive music, maybe because these songs elicited more positive emotions without interfering with memory formation.
So while music could have an impact on memory, results may vary based on the individual. If you generally find yourself distracted by music, you might be better off studying in silence or with impartial tracks playing in the background.
Music Can Help Manage Pain Research shows that music can be quite beneficial in the management of pain. 1 analysis of fibromyalgia patients found that those who listened to music for only 1 hour per day experienced a substantial decrease in pain compared to those in a control group.
In the study, patients with fibromyalgia were assigned to either an experimental group that listened to music once a day for four weeks or a control group that received no therapy. At the conclusion of this four-week period, those who had listened to music daily experienced significant reductions in feelings of depression and pain. Such results suggest that music therapy might be a significant tool in treating chronic pain.
Whilst listening to music at any given point in time was successful, the researchers noticed that listening to music pre-surgery led to better results.
The review looked at data from over 7,000 patients and discovered that music listeners also required less medication to handle their pain. There was also a marginally greater, though not statistically significant, improvement in pain control results when patients were permitted to select their own music.

Watching TV and Movies Is Better Together
Parents tend to be worried about precisely how much screen time is ideal for kids. The guidelines can be confusing -- and there is no magic number that is suitable for all families. The truth is what children are watching and how they are watching are key areas of the equation. And when parents are involved -- by sitting together, asking questions, and describing when necessary -- the benefits multiply.
In my position as director of research for Common Sense Media, I am immersed in studies concerning how media influence kids. While the amount of time children spend with displays is important, research shows that watching TV and videos with your children, aka"co-viewing," has a selection of positive effects. It may support early literacy skills, boost empathy, and also help manage aggression after exposure to violent media. While this study of young Sesame Street viewers shows, children whose parents asked them to name letters and numbers throughout the show learned much better than when parents did the naming.
Co-viewing is very similar to the way many parents treat reading to children, particularly for preschoolers and other young children. It is a time to cuddle, concentrate your attention together, and discuss the experience of hearing and seeing the exact same thing, exactly like story time. In a study of parents who implemented the techniques of high quality reading to watching videos, children scored higher on understanding and vocabulary measures than children whose parents did not use the techniques.
Of course, you do not need to co-view each and every show. As a parent of two young sons, I try to see my children when I can, but it is impossible to always co-view together. I do, however, use their favourite shows as a method of creating conversation with them afterwards. We at Common Sense do not promote media at meals, but we certainly encourage parents to speak about media when you are sitting at the table!
So how can you really co-view and reap those benefits?
Focus their attention. Help kids pick up narrative details by pointing out specific elements of what you are watching, whether it is a strange new word, a perplexing part, or simply an interesting detail.
Encourage them to think about the order of events. This helps children think about sequence and cause and effect. Either after watching the series or before watching something they have seen before, say:"Can you recall what happened after the dog got loose?
Strengthen their understanding. Ask who, what, when, why, where, and how questions to get your children to use new words and think through what they have seen.
Expand on what kids say. Rephrase information from the series or items your children have said back to them, relate details to your own life, or add new information. All of these are ways to improve conversation skills, teach children about the world, and bolster your relationship. How do you feel when you hear loud noises?
Here is a poorly kept secret: Children like to speak about networking -- a lot. Make the most of this, since it will open up all types of opportunities to discover about the things your children are interested in, the things that are important to them, as well as what is happening in their own lives.

Beginner's Guide To Sneaker Collecting
So you've got a niece or a nephew who's always got a brand new, vibrant pair of shoes on, and you can not help but wonder what it would feel like to have your own. Or, perhaps you're an old presence in your workplace, and the influx of millennials has brought an onslaught of footwear that the likes of which you have never seen. It is everywhere today: Young folks coordinating their gym equipment to lightweight, bright shoes the likes of which your creation could only imagine, children taking step-back threes on the playground in sneaker versions named after men young enough to be your kid.
You aren't going through a mid-life crisis (unless you are wearing a leather coat or forcing a newly-purchased Porsche while reading this, in which case, cut it out, get some help) as much as you are late to the party so a lot of people have been enjoying since our younger years in the 90s and aughts.
Now, let us make sure that you don't look like an idiot out here.
Seek the help of a millennial I know you feel you know what is hot in those streets (is it "streets", nevertheless? The area of streetwear and sneaker culture moves so quickly that yesterday's Griffey's could be today's Air Stabs, and you do not understand what any of what I just said means at all. Do not leave this to the faceless Internet: identify a stylish millennial and lure them with compliments and decorations. They won't need money; involvement is its own reward.
Tumblr media
Start off slow and simple So you have identified these colorful sneakers that child in IT wears, and you really enjoy those Union 180s. There is something you've got to understand, however. That kid who looks like he has no business shaving is deep* at the game by now. He is either old enough to have grabbed those back in the mid-aughts (which makes him a wizened old figure in sneakerhead circles) or cool enough to have hunted them out after the fact. Those look nice for you because he wears them well. You placing those on with your Levi's jeans that you have not strayed from as your ex-wife finally consented to go to junior prom with you may have you looking less like a man about town and more like a guy in need of a service system. The first rule of shoes (and anything, really) is to not look like a walking shout for support.
Learn the lingo and landscape No one expects you to know what it is like to un-DS your Bacon (or why that matters) after your first visit to the Nike outlet. But the more time spent speaking, reading, and considering shoes, the more of the language you will need to know. Moving around the Internet without an awareness of the significance and background of some terms could have you sporting your #NTDenim with no hint of irony. Your kids do not have to see that.
Keep up, from a distance You have a healthy rotation of a half-dozen or so shoes: A Jordan 1, an Air Max 95, an NMD, and a couple of runners. You have got alarms set for some cool releases the millennials have alerted you to, and their decorations have made quality kindling by which they have long since heated their tiny, tiny apartments. Now, however, you are noticing new versions pop up around the workplace and the stores you frequent. It is cool to keep up with the Joneses. Discover what works for you, your budget, and your wardrobe, and you will be OK. It's totally cool to grab a new set of the newest LeBrons. A cupboard full of them, however, makes you appear to be a chaperone.

Recreational Therapy For Seniors
There are many men and women that are confused by the term"recreational therapy." In the end, recreation is something you do for pleasure, and treatment is used to deal with such as depression, anxiety, and the like. However, what if there was a means to do both at the exact same time? Really, recreational therapy for seniors can help improve not just emotional health, but also physical well-being, cognitive functioning, and much more.
What Is Recreational Therapy? Recreational therapy is all about employing many different treatment modalities to enhance physical, cognitive, psychological, and social function. Part of this may involve coming to terms with new physical or social limitations (for example, diminished speech following a stroke), or learning new leisure activities (for example, abstract art rather than fine painting because of hand tremors). Functional intervention and education are also offered to the customer --sometimes with the only objective of helping them maintain the skills they already have.
What Are Some Examples of Recreational Therapy for Seniors?
All the above is well and good in theory, but what are a few practical examples of recreational therapy?
Tumblr media
Games Table and card games are a time-honored method for older adults to improve social and cognitive skills. Past generations were a great deal more involved than us in games like Mahjong, bridge, cribbage, and much more. Through these games, patients focus on skills including memory1, concentration, judgment, strategy, and teamwork.
Arts and Crafts Despite arts and crafts' institution with kindergarteners and preschoolers, adults of all ages are getting back into the match. Knitting is once more"cool" one of the teenage and twenties set, and elderly adults understand full well it never went out of fashion. But crafts do not have to be just about sewing. There is painting, drawing, working with clay--the choices are endless. Using a creative outlet can diminish stress2, in addition, to increase and maintain manual dexterity. And any quilter can let you know the societal benefits of being a part of a quilting bee!
Current Events Once we're younger, we may read newspapers, magazines, online journals, and similar things to learn what is happening in the world. But as we grow old, the methods we used to remain informed and involved may no longer be open to us. Arthritis in the hands can make it tough to flip pages, and bad eyesight can make reading printing hard. Discussing current events with a recreational therapist (who reads the newspaper or post out loud) is the ideal remedy. This is often accomplished in a group setting, where the individual can work on their socialization skills along with the thought processing such action requires.
Technology Among the most exciting new developments in recreational therapy today concerns technology--especially teaching seniors to utilize the Internet. Since learning these skills involves acquiring new thought processes (older adults have been born before internet use was commonplace), it is an exceptional way to increase cognitive function and memory. Online games are just another example of activities that encourage this. It's also a wonderful way for the homebound (or individuals with mobility problems) to remain connected to families and friends. Way to improve your powers of socialization, Player One!
Find Recreational Therapy for Seniors If you or a loved one is contemplating recreational therapy for seniors, it is important to invest in an excellent program. Even when the senior is living in the home, they need to be able to attend a day program where they can get the benefits of this exceptional therapy. 1 example is that the On Lok Lifeways program given by IOA. Each participant receives a special plan of care that's customized to their unique needs. Do not wait any longer for your loved one to reap the benefits of recreational therapy--begin inquiring about it now!

Visit The Philippines On A Budget
The Philippines is one of the most incredible budget travel destinations in the world because of the perfect subtropical shores, enchanting seas, mesmerizing sunsets, friendly locals, and relaxed, tropical vibes.
I've been fortunate enough to travel through the Philippines multiple times and have spent almost six months exploring this remarkable corner of the world. The nation has everything, from towering volcanoes and pristine coral reefs to lush jungles, underground rivers, colossal caves, and some of the most enchanting waterfalls on the planet. You can snorkel around WWII wrecks, camp out in the jungle, and mind deep inside the ground through limestone cave systems.
And, along with it all, The Philippines is ridiculously affordable!
Rum is less costly than many soft drinks, and tasty Filipino foods such as lumpia (fried spring rolls) or pancit (fried noodles), or halo-halo dessert (ice shavings, condensed milk, little chunks of sweet boiled kidney beans, coconut gel, and tapioca) tend to be less than a buck. You can sleep in a hammock for under five dollars per night in several hostels (or for free if you simply set up on the shore).
The Philippines is a country you can travel on for as little as $20 USD per day if you are doing it on a broke-backpacker budget -- and it is likely to travel much cheaper than that if you really push it by hitchhiking and camping. Apparently, your budget can balloon, especially if you're staying in lavish beachfront hotels, eating out at fancy restaurants, and taking expensive tours.
Tumblr media
Accommodation - Posh backpacker hostels can be quite pricey in the Philippines, placing you back up to $18 per night for a dorm bed. Luckily, there's tons of budget accommodation available as soon as you're out of Manila; for instance, you can discover dorm beds for as little as $5 per night in Palawan. Local guesthouses and shacks on the beach are much less expensive than hostels; you can sometimes score a shack for only $2 a night.
Food and beverage - Street food may cost as little as $1 for a plate of yummy mystery meat. If you choose to eat in tourist-centric restaurants, costs will be higher with meals costing between $5 -- $20 in many tourist-aimed restaurants. In Manila and other posh parts of the Philippines, you may end up spending a lot on food and drink, particularly on a night out, so try to pregame (drink a few beers on the road ) before heading out for a night on the town.
Transportation - Flights can easily eat into your budget, so it is better to stick to ferries if you're long on time but short on money. There are pretty good long-distance buses operating across some of the larger islands, for example, Luzon, but inevitably you'll end up on a ferry... It is just the only way to get to a number of the islands.
Activities - The Philippines is among the cheapest places on earth to learn how to dive; a dip can set you back as little as $25 in certain places. Snorkeling is much more economical; you can hire snorkeling equipment for $3--5 a pop on several beaches.
How much it costs to travel in The Philippines actually depends upon your travel style and where you go. Manila (especially) and Boracay are significantly more expensive than other elements of The Philippines and as soon as you're out of the tourist hot-spots it is relatively simple to flourish on a budget of $35 per day. $35 per day will allow you to remain in a good shared room if you are splitting the cost with a friend or a cozy dorm at a cool hostel.

Visiting Saudi Arabia
For the first time in its history, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced that will be opening its doors for tourism by issuing an electronic visa for people coming from 49 countries — including the United States.
Anyone over age 18 can apply for an eVisa. It costs roughly $120 and is valid for a period of one year with an option for multiple entries, and enables a maximum stay of 90 days in the nation. Formerly, the Kingdom issued only visitor visas for religious pilgrimage and business visas. This monumental announcement is part of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's reform program, Vision 2030, which aims to reduce the country's reliance on oil and diversify its economy by way of tourism and entertainment.
Over the last two decades, the government has also announced the launching of several ambitious projects, such as an amusement mega-city in Riyadh (allegedly, double the size of Orlando's Disney World), a futuristic shore destination along the shore of the Red Sea, and recovery of UNESCO World Heritage sites. By 2030, the government expects 100 million yearly visits, increased domestic and foreign investment in hotels and related amenities, the production of million jobs, and an increase in tourism earnings from the current 3% to 10% of the nation's Gross Domestic Product, according to Reuters.
To draw Western tourists and promote itself as a tourist destination -- on par with neighboring Gulf countries -- Saudi Arabia has eased some of its conservative limitations, like granting women rights to travel and drive with no protector, controlling the powers of the moral police, allowing unmarried tourist couples to rent hotel rooms, and relaxing dress codes.
Tumblr media
Over the first ten days of the coming of the Visa, 24,000 visitors entered the Kingdom, according to Arab News. Although there's a shortage of adequate tourism infrastructure, those interested to learn about and experience the nation will find Saudi's natural landscape and its welcoming locals' incentive enough to see.
If you end up heading to Saudi Arabia to explore the property uncharted to tourists, here are a couple of basic and cultural strategies for first-time travelers into the Kingdom.
Safety Like travel to any other nation on earth, be respectful of local rules and habits, be mindful of your environment, and carry out due diligence prior to traveling. Make certain to consult travel advisories before your trip.
Public spaces Public spaces could be segregated, and you'll find individual entrances or seating areas for women and men.
Underneath the public code of behavior, it's a punishable offense. Other crimes include vandalism of public property, playing music through prayer times, and dress code violations.
Female tourists aren't required to wear the abaya (a cloak, formerly mandated by the authorities). However, both women and men should dress modestly, avoiding tight-fitting and revealing clothes in public. The official Visit Saudi tourism site offers additional details on what this involves.
Shops and restaurants close during prayer times, five times each day. To take advantage of your trip, plan your itinerary according to those times.
While non-Muslims are welcome and allowed to practice their faith in private spaces, preaching in public forums or on social networking platforms is prohibited. Malicious propaganda against the nation, government, and faith is a serious offense.
The sale, purchase, or consumption of drugs and alcohol is prohibited in the country.
Social customs You'll see locals be hospitable, generous, and as both curious about you as you might be about them. It's not unusual to be invited to share a meal or a cup of Pahwa (Arabic coffee) and dates. Your hosts -- as well as strangers -- will wish to expand their welcome and provide a token of the hospitality, such as food or maybe a little gift. Keep in mind, always accept and eat food and drinks with your right hand.
If you're invited into a Saudi home, remove your shoes, unless your host insists you keep them. In a conventional Majlis, (a sitting hall with floor cushions) you're expected to sit on the ground.
Saudis welcome and encourage Westerners to ask questions about their own culture. To avoid offending local sensibilities, it is better to steer clear of religious or political topics of conversation.
Familiarize yourself with Saudi rituals such as greetings and handshakes will always make a positive impression with your hosts. Men should not extend a handshake to a Muslim girl unless she does so first. To err on the side of caution, put your hand over your heart and greet with a hello.v
