Terrorism has no religion
Attacks on Hindu Religious Sites and Pilgrims-
2006 Varanasi Bombings
2002 Akshardham Temple Attack
2000 Amarnath Pilgrimage Massacre
Massacres of Hindu Civilians -
1998 Chapnari Massacre
2006 Doda Massacre
1993 Kishtwar Massacre
2001 Kishtwar Massacres
1998 Chamba Massacre
And ofcourse, how can we forget, Pahalgam 2025.
Me spewing hateful comments???
Ok, then why did the terrorists ask the hindu men to remove their pants? To check if they had an aadhar card? Why did they ask them to recite the kalma?
It was a religion based attack, and if you don't think so, you're delusional and completely wrong. And its not the first of its kind.
Terrorism doesn't have a religion yet somehow only one religion is unaffected by terrorism.
#and as for Israel and phalistan#There is no politically correct side in this.Neither side is 100% innocent or guilty.#my problem is when crimes are commited against muslims by hindu groups i dont see any hindu rejoicing or making fun of muslims#or victim blaming etc etc#but when the opposite happens#the impact is always downplayed#hindus are made out to be bad or wrong#and we are not allowed to grieve#why take away this?#and islam against sanatan dharm has a long standing history. since the invasions from eons ago#like its not even recent??? hindu women were raped and hindu men massacred??? ever since then???#your whole argument is just so so one sided#and i wouldnt be surprised if you are a hindu

The Consequences Of That Autumn Wither 🍂

Pile 1
Nutmeg or mace flowers could be significant for this pile. Lord Vishnu from Hindu Mythology. Indonesia could be significant. I see a relationship here. Its as if someone, mainly the female in this relationship, or a feminine energy feels under confident or unappreciated and seems like her person ( a masculine energy) could have been taken away from her during travel or some travel related issue. For some of you this could be them choosing someone else over you. I see the universe has finally opened the eyes of this individual. And this person seems to be in debt for their wrong and unjustified actions towards you. They are reaping for what they sowed. Iam also getting that this is the karm for their injustices towards you only if you have managed to control the fury of your emotions and have decided to completely cut off from this energy for karm to take place on its own. I just want you to know that this person feels guilty for doing you dirty, but its time to let this story go. As this person could be going in debts due to their impulsive decisions. They could have been lied to, factually manipulated by their person of interest which could have been a blow to them. Keep your emotions under check, as you could still be connected to them emotionally, but its time for this inharmonious connection to sever away. I see you being happy and abundant with your life despite the loss this individual made you go through, your win over your lowest point in life has truly made you the victor. They could recieve some news about your victory through word of mouth, while they spy on you. You could have lost a lost of confidence and energy on this person at one point of your life while stressing and crying for your deserved reciprocation pile 1. The moment you decided to let all the negativity go by not creating any karm for this person yourself and letting the universe spin its wheel, the energy of good favour you brought was lost hence karm back at this person. Dear pile 1 Iam so sorry that you had to go through this loss of esteem. Please know that you are more than enough of what anyone, any lover, any brother or any sister, father, mother , teacher and many other people in your life could have ever asked. Just know that. Love you so much. Bubbye and take care of yourself

Pile 2
Signs : Jennifer,Jennie, jacked, abs, gyming, the traits are getting balanced out, stalling someone's flow of money, cheat codes, cheating, taking short cuts, SA-ing someone for preg inheritance (trust me I don't know if people actually go to these lengths, but yeah if you are man reading this, and it resonates, I am so sorry if this has ever happened to you) , child legacy, Kaira, Kiara, shooting star, shooting at North Pole, someone saying "this shooting sucks", someone could work in films or entertainment industry in front of camera
Pile 2 Iam seeing deep betrayal by a friend, community or family members, specifically one person among them all. This person could have backstabbed you several times and severed your ties and connections. Could have made you feel like you don't belong or that you aren't worthy of anything good in your life. They could have bullied you and isolated you from other people. Just know that their bad traits are catching up with them, their indiscipline and wild ways are causing them to leave a connection or some wild card once in a lifetime opportunity. They had always slept on your ideas, proposals, meetings and never tried to accept your offer or forward you to the next level even when it was well deserved. They have tried to recieve fame, status, money, favours, appraisals and praises using your name or work. They could have tried to frame you with false accusations and also defamed you in number of spots without you ever noticing. For some they could have tried to steal your credits and were always jealous of your reputation. Seems like this person is getting exposed for taking shortcuts. For stopping your cash flow this person's karm is starting something new from scratch only to fail at it again and again until they learn their lesson for stalling other people's money flow. This person's karm can be hugely related to you as I am seeing you getting into a happy relationship or already being in one or having everything in your life to satisfy you (I heard three course meal, no, make it five!) your hard work and sincere efforts could have elevated your position and status in your life if none of these then this message isn't for you. Check any other piles or try a different reader. But if this resonates watching you happy in this elevated position in life or in this beautifully prosperous and happy relationship is their karm as they could have feel stuck in a loveless connection or might have used a child to inherit some legacy. This is a very specific message. So if it resonates, let the energy flow, let it clean this rubble.

Pile 3
Signs: Neymar junior, king the second, alpha - beta male trend, father son bond, coach himanshu lingwal, under 14 national coach, someone who is a Neymar fan, has always dreamt to be a footballer just like him, someone dreamt to be an astrologer, someone could have Sagittarius in their birth chart , Tum Hi Ho - Arijit Singh, Decemberian, Gemini, lovers, 6, self care products, perfume collection, French speaking team, French mates, Bachelor degree in sciences
If there have been some extremely dogmatic authoritative figure who have tried to control you or every little part of you to their liking, then attacked, triggered or forced you by the means of their power, then know that their karm is getting attacked in every step of the way while you focus on yourself and your self care, and nourish yourself with love and pamper of your family, friend circle or neighbours (for someone specific) and recieve the beautiful blessings and results of your efforts for sticking through the plans God had laid out for you. This person could have been someone lazy as an authority who took advantage of your emotional vulnerability which could have caused you a lot of loss, the stress they gave to you is coming back to them from downfalls of the kind from which they will have to struggle a lot for getting back up again to the energy returning back to them in form of not wanting to take risks or fear of failure grappling hold onto them for having done wrong by you. The cards aren't even hesitating. This is like straight up karm for those of you who have been done wrong by some authority. Whatever deception this person was doing, it is being exposed. You might receive a news on their loss the same way you heard about their disapproval of your normal life. Its as if the mask over their perfectly normal family life is ripping off in front of people and their sense of normalcy might also get exposed as people will see their true colours, for some maybe they had been infidel to their spouse which is getting exposed again and again.

Chapter 60 Plot Posting
Hi again, dear void. So, about those complaints I've had in regards to the pacing... and others that I've been holding off on to see how they'd be handled... this is a long and mostly negative yapfest that rambles about the chapter itself and some general writing choices.
Bad TL of Editor's note stuff:
First Page: 会議-!! [kaigi-!!], "A meeting-!!" Last Page: 征くは修羅の道...!! [yuku ha shura no michi...!!] "Leaving for battle on Asura's path...!"
Asura are the demigods who fought against the Devas in Hindu and Buddhist mythology, by-the-by. Basically, the gist is that Chihiro and the Masumi are heading out on a road fraught with carnage and strife to face an extremely powerful foe. Oh, and Hokazono-sensei clarified that the squad are indeed called "Masumi" and not "Makizumi"- the latter is a typo.
Before I rant, I got something wrong with my interpretation of the Japanese version last week. In the last panel here:
"Controlled the war" is still not the greatest way to phrase the line, but mine was way off too since I got too hung up on the literal meaning of a particular kanji (駆ける [kakeru]). The actual meaning of what John's saying there is more along the lines that Samura's an experienced war veteran, which isn't as cool but if that's the more accurate translation then so be it. Please do not ever trust my translations to be correct and I'll do a better job of relaying that I'm not to be trusted if I try to interpret something.
What the Fuck, Man
Alright, so... I'll get this out of the way. This chapter was a huge let-down for me.
It did all the necessary things but the proportion of time spent on what and the way they played out made my concerns about the fast pacing boil over. Come on, Hokazono-sensei. Slow down just a smidge to let us maintain our bonds with the characters.
Slower chapters are necessary to make it easier for the reader to keep their suspension of disbelief and stay immersed! A great story is more than racing from points A through Z with just the bare minimum detail to give context for the next cool action scene. When people ask for the pace to slow down or for there to be more "filler", what they're really asking for are more meaningful times spent with the characters interacting with each other and getting in their heads. Letting some emotional moments linger, bonds get set up and maintained outside of tense moments and strictly necessary plot events, things like that.
After such heavy chapters back-to-back for about a month with Samura's betrayal, I think most of us need a breather. Just some time to sit with the characters to reflect on everything that happened and how they feel about it, you know? A lot of stuff happened and Chihiro especially has a lot to process. We even had a time limit of a week set up to do that- surely one day or even half of one could be given over to letting the cast regroup and take a breath on-screen before the next beat. But Hokazono-sensei seems allergic to giving us time for quiet reflection so now I'm more exhausted than the protagonist who died and came back to life a few hours ago. Yes, Chihiro rested for a few days off-screen before rolling out but we didn't get to see it. So it's not a break for us.
I've been holding back on criticism of this because I wanted to see where the story was going and what the author would do but the pacing is an outright flaw as of this chapter. It's something that I wish had been left behind in the action movie genre; that kind of pacing works for films because you're doing 90ish-minute installments every few years. But it's terrible for a weekly manga.
I will eat a whole stick of apple cinnamon incense if this is some long-con on the author's part to eventually slap Chihiro down for running on fumes and force him to sleep for a week or something. But I'm only making this bet because by now I think it's clear that we're in thriller action movie pacing for the rest of the series' run. It's just something that will have to be accepted as part of the experience going forward. For me, it's a drawback. An acceptable one since everything else is still holding my interest (for now) but a major one nonetheless.
What Did we Not Rest For?
An administrative meeting, a Shiba & Chihiro conversation, and Minimura exposition; Hakuri was so unimportant that he gave an offscreen info dump and went back to sleep, apparently. That's a hell of a lot- there was a ton of yapping and all of it was related to the plot and keeping the momentum up. That's not appropriate downtime! It's the manga equivalent of working from home early Saturday morning after pulling all-nighters at the office from Monday through Friday.
Anyway... this chapter was dense as fuck. I don't catch everything each week but damn I feel like I'm missing a lot of things to speculate on this time. I don't have the brain power to get every little thing until we start tying up some existing threads; hopefully what I caught here is good enough until more room can be made. Early Bird Kamunabi Conference
Azami! Good to see you again! Please do stuff more often to give me a heads up so I can start preparing defense statements against those traitor allegations.
First up, the Kamunabi convening at a little after 3 in the morning. Using Magatsumi's still on the table despite the sealing process being partially complete, obviously. And based on the discussion it seems like we'll probably meet Subaru, the Sushi Chef Bearer from Sushi Subaru next. Sorry girl Bearer fans. Hope Ms. Masumi in a suit can tide you over until then.
In terms of Kamunabi member insights, I'm really warming up to the mask Kamunabi guy that was impressed by Hiyuki's evaluation of Chihiro (and helped Kunishige hide after the war). He's the one who cares about the well-being of others the most out of everyone who we got to hear from. I'm thinking he's also a true believer in the mission with a more compassionate bent to his philosophy than Mutton Chops. Mutton Chops is pretty competent when he's not being a Rokuhira Hater, though.
Everyone else is pretty much on the practical discussion side to get us away from a bunch of talking heads as soon as possible. Except Ear guy- he's still as flippant as ever. I've still got my eye on you for corruption and/or negligent incompetence, buddy.
They all get failing grades for sending Chihiro back out again so soon, though. Guess we won't be dealing with the political side of the conflict just yet. Samura using Owl to monitor all of Japan for Enchanted Blade signatures is pretty spooky though!
Shiba and Chihiro
[Slaps Shiba] This bad boy can fit so much misguided grief in it.
The long conversation was a must-have and I'm glad it happened! I just wish it had gone a bit differently. Less Minimura, more just the two of them, you know? (Or solo Chihiro reflecting on things before Shiba comes in!) They've got a lot of complicated emotions going on and I really wanted to see more of Shiba's conflict over how he wants to protect Chihiro but also feels like he can't. It's been there in the background since Chapter 1 and this would have been a great time to dig into it a little more. He just watched Chihiro die in his arms and some stern faces are all he can muster?! After shaking and nearly crying for comedic effect over the stunts Chihiro and Hakuri pulled in Ch. 46? And busting into the hospital room with a yell in Ch. 11? Call it a nit-pick if you like but it just feels weirdly subdued from Shiba's end when he's normally so emotive about Chihiro's well-being. I guess this is the "heavy feelings make the comedy guy get serious" trope in effect. Boo hiss bad application, let this man be more emotional about his adopted nephew!
I guess I can at least appreciate that Shiba being subdued contrasted with Chihiro being the most outwardly emotional we've ever seen him (in the present) when he echoes the words his dad spoke to him:
Passionate, glossy-eyed Chihiro gets anything he wants forever and ever no questions asked.
CHIHIROOOO you need to rest and get some hugs, not go out and kill more people! But we're already well aware of why he's out here doing this, so... damn it, you get to go. Just don't keep accumulating wounds and stuff, OK? And don't freakin' die again!
I understand why Shiba didn't put up much of a fight when Chihiro asked for Enten back. He's driven by guilt just as much as the rest of the major characters this arc, especially over failing to protect Kunishige. Won't commit on the exact reasons right now but they're probably along the lines of "If I hadn't failed that day then Chihiro wouldn't feel the need to do any of this, so the least I can do is train him and catch him when he falls". This is good stuff honestly! I just wish we'd gotten to see a bit more of his inner thoughts.
The second biggest thing I disliked about this chapter was the implication that Chihiro finally heard at least some of the truth of things from Shiba there in the hospital room but we the audience still can't know about it yet. Which is fine for us- it's tough being teased about it for so long but I don't mind. What bothers me is that I think this is something that's important enough for us to learn about the same time Chihiro does. So we can feel the weight of whatever this monstrous cover-up was, you know? We're supposed to be on this journey with him, seeing the world from his point of view and coming to understand things as he does. Something this massive should have been dropped on the reader and the protagonist at the same time! I don't want the reveal relegated to a flashback in the middle of a fight- give it the full attention it deserves. But maybe the author's cooking again. No choice but to wait and see anyway.
Zombie Chihiro?!
HMM...
Samura spared Chihiro, which makes sense. He just wants Chihiro to stop before he goes too far down this path. But of course Chihiro's gotta have that clash of ideals and say "I'm a sinner too".
I did feel really bad for Chihiro again this chapter. Being reminded that he's just a nice 18-year-old kid pushing himself to be a killer out of grief and feeling like he can't turn back hits right in the kokoro. I hope we can see how a Bearer bonds with their sword since his contract with Enten was severed...! Samura can sense blades with contracts when they're in use so I wonder how Chihiro will adjust to that too. He's watching all of Japan for signs of enchanted blade activity so Chihiro might have to use Enten as a regular sword for a while.
Chihiro's rapid recovery could either be ascribed to Samura's precision in slicing him or some other kind of power, possibly from Tobimune.... HMM... do we really need more little details to chew on in this chapter? Sure, why not. Let's add another thing to ponder on while we wait for resolution on the all the other hanging threads too. At least this one's tied to some blade or Chihiro sorcery lore. If it's a Tobimune power, wouldn't Chihiro know about it? Unless it's a True Realm ability that hasn't been documented. More things to theorize over, yay...
It's also the last remaining shred of hope for Uruha being alive despite apparently being in autopsy. I'll admit, it's pretty damn fishy that Shiba can't get info and Chihiro refuses to believe the man is dead, so I guess I can't complain if my favourite goofy ronin dude comes back somehow. Would still prefer it if he was left definitively dead though because we have more than enough "but maybe?!" threads hanging around already.
Not to get too gruesome, but... if this is a flag that the Kamunabi are doing unethical things to Uruha's corpse, hoo boy. Oh man. I'm not ready for that kind of development despite being a horror fan.
The Sore Spot
Couldn't you have saved this for next chapter?
And then... a lotta Minimura exposition yap.
I feel like this conversation could have been pushed to the next chapter with Minimura stepping into the hospital room as the cliffhanger to end this one. It's just too much information overload and exposition when we've been begging for Chihiro to rest for months now in real time. Even if the in-universe timeline remained the same, it would have given us readers a lull while Chihiro had the heart-to-heart with Shiba and thought about everything that just went down. Heck we might have even gotten some time with Hakuri too.
The last page of Chihiro and the Masumi stepping out in suits was cool as heck but it didn't land due to how sick I am of these characters running from plot point to plot point. Now it's Chihiro and the ninjas out there doing Things and Stuff to find their answers from Samura... I'm interested in the conflict that will arise from Samura's old guards -basically his little family- fighting against him, don't get me wrong. It's got some very tasty parallels to Hakuri's story and resonates deeply with Chihiro's need to know the truth about the people he cares for so much. Again for the millionth time though, I just wish this had gone down a little bit differently.
Hakuri Where?!
There's a lot of baseless venting here and some raw, barely-edited thoughts- sorry in advance. This chapter is kind of an information overload (and I'll be honest, I got super petty over Hakuri's status being hand-waved away). I just don't have it in me to condense it all like usual. Sorry.
Oh, he's just drowning in self-hatred offscreen. Don't worry about it we gotta get going.
So, Chihiro's the MC and this is his story. Stuff with him will usually take precedence over other characters. But when you barely acknowledge Hakuri -ostensibly one of the most important characters in the cast other than Chihiro himself- in the aftermath of a series of major events that he was directly involved in like this, I gotta wonder.
I'd be happier if he wasn't mentioned or shown at all beyond still being alive because that would mean there was more to say that needed proper time to be allocated. But much like Chihiro waking up alone and the Shiba and Chihiro conversation, a prime chance for character and/or relationship quality time was skimmed over to keep the plot moving at mach five.
"Finer details not necessary."
I'm not saying this because I wanted HakuHiro hospital fluff that badly. I'm saying this as a Hakuri fan who's worried that he'll be reduced to an exposition and gag delivery tool. It's happened to some of my favourites before despite the prominent billing they got, and I hoped it wouldn't happen again here after the Rakuzaichi arc set Hakuri up to be second only to Chihiro in terms of narrative importance. But shoving him offscreen so we get updates about him indirectly -giving us no time to even see him wake up or express anything directly- feels like side-character treatment. You know, how Hinao was treated in Chapter 11 (where's she been lately?).
The best that can be hoped for is that he gives us a PoV that lets us explore the Kamunabi side more via his hospital stay somehow. Feels bad when the author clearly hates deviating from the action to do those kinds of scenes, so I wonder how much we'll actually see of Hakuri struggling and working through his issues while he's setting up plot points for other characters and the larger narrative. All while Chihiro's shoving him out of mind for one reason or another to keep focusing on the story events too.
Chihiro not checking in on Hakuri after he wakes up isn't a huge issue- that can readily be ascribed to guilt thanks to the panel of him recalling how he said he'd rely on Hakuri's help with a sad expression. He's worried in general too even if it would have been better if he'd been more proactive about expressing it. It's not like Chihiro has to wake up in a cold sweat and demand answers but shouldn't he be a little more concerned about his "equal partner"? Especially after all the emphasis put on how important they are to each other during the last arc?
Chihiro seems hesitant to broach the subject of Hakuri at all despite obviously caring a great deal.
The most generous interpretation I can make of this is that Chihiro and Hakuri are both too guilty to face each other right now. Chihiro's got a lot of other stuff going on anyway, so he can avoid thinking about the guilt of dragging Hakuri in to his mess by continuing on his mission. Meanwhile Hakuri's clearly thrashing himself something fierce. The panel of him curled up on the bed under Minimura's narration combined with him requesting the Masumi to help Chihiro in his stead is all we need to see based on what we already know- Hakuri is absolutely drowning in self-loathing right now. So he probably doesn't want to see Chihiro either even if he can get out of bed and walk himself over.
I don't want to go on a fuckhuge tangent about this but I've not got a lot of hope that these guys will interact or resolve the situation any time soon. It seems like very small potatoes compared to facing Samura, dealing with the Hishaku, and whatever's yet to come with the Kamunabi. Honestly, though? I just plain hate miscommunication drama. It's realistic here and very understandable from both sides but please, for the love of god, don't drag it out for the rest of the arc. Let them talk when Chihiro gets back or so help me God I really will think the author is pulling their relationship beats out of a generic BL tropes bin.
After Having Calmed Down...
Alright, alright. Enough of that. At least a few days passed between Chihiro waking up and rolling out again, we just didn't get to see it. So maybe they did meet up at some point. Or maybe the avoidance is to follow up on the "friendship" flags set up by Hiruhiko. Something about how they should still be relying on each other in situations like this instead of flagellating themselves in isolation. That's classic shounen, right? At any rate, we have Hiruhiko and Hakuri one-sidedly calling themselves Chihiro's friends for a reason, so we'll just have to wait and see what comes of that. I don't think that will end with Hakuri and Chihiro not being friends somehow.
Also, despite the dialogue about Hakuri not having much hope for healing his damage nerves, I'm pretty sure he will at least partially recover at some point. I just hope it's not entirely off-screen. The vast majority of character development in Kagurabachi happens through combat and the direct lead-up to the fights, which is a big strength of the series. But that also means that characters who can't fight don't get much on-screen development.
Hakuri's going to have some time to examine his circumstances in a future chapter after all the set up he got earlier in the arc. His thing will probably be learning to value himself; most likely in the sense that he's not just a tool, but a person. Hard to see how that will happen while he's stuck in recovery mode though. Will the author change tack and start having more scenes of talking heads and political drama to explore between action scenes? Seriously doubt it. So either Hakuri gets put on an expedited recovery schedule of his own or he'll be out of the story until he's useful to Chihiro('s story) as a sorcerer again. ...Not great vibes with so much of his trauma being tied to "utility=worthiness of love" but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised? I hope?
It'll be really tough for him to learn his lesson for this arc if he's burnt out after failing to save someone he swore to protect, too. A day after finally proving himself to be a genius of rare talents capable of doing so no less. God this poor kid. He finally got everything he wanted and deserved and lost it all... well he didn't lose Chihiro and Shiba, but he probably thinks he deserves to right now. Especially since Chihiro seems to have left without seeing him even once.
Which would have just made his guilt worse anyway because of what happened to him and Uruha. Hakuri summoned Chihiro back in a panic and got him killed too! And now he's totally burnt out and may be forever, so he can't even try to make up for it by training his power and "earning" redemption by becoming stronger and saving more lives. The last thing he did with his abilities was fail to save a life he promised to protect and get his friend killed. He was already being crushed under the weight of what happened to Ice Lady and now...
Huh, wouldn't that kind of be a good point to make though? That you have to forgive yourself before the guilt eats you alive. Else you'll never stop self-destructing... wonder if the author will go that route for Hakuri and/or Chihiro.
... Man. The feelings I have about Hakuri are really messy and way too closely tied to my own life experiences, so it's hard for me to be objective about him and how I want him to be handled. His journey mirrors my own in so many ways and made this series a ride or die for me based on how he was written last arc. In terms of Current Events, though? From a neutral standpoint, I think we'll get scenes of him interacting with other characters for side-plot reasons while the focus is on Chihiro's exploits. From a personal standpoint, I want in-depth explorations of him like we got in the Rakuzaichi arc. I want to see more of that, as much as possible. Even if it means deviating away from cool spreads and Chihiro doing awesome stunts more often. (In other words: the author's priorities and mine probably don't overlap right now.) So even though I know objectively that it's just not time to get back to Hakuri yet, I'm anxious that even when we do it won't be handled with grace because he can't be directly tied to the action scenes.
There are a lot of complicated thoughts about how Chihiro interacts with people in general, too... Hakuri's not the only one who does the emotional heavy lifting when it comes to depicting the relationship between them. A lot of character screen time is devoted to establishing bonds and such with Chihiro but rarely from Chihiro's point of view in return. He's completely consumed by plot things and we don't know how he feels about the people close to him directly for the most part. Hakuri is actually the lucky one who got a whole few sentences of Chihiro's inner thoughts acknowledging him as someone stronger that one time! Everything else is left to context and facial expressions -which is appropriate for a relatively reticent MC- but it would be nice get in his head to hear what he thinks about Shiba, Hakuri, and others more often.
Normally I work all that feelings stuff out in a private draft, but I'll leave it here in case you were starting to think I was anything more than a sad sack mad man, dear void. Depending on how next week goes I might not post; maybe not until after New Year's if life keeps being difficult. Be kind if you're given a choice, okay? Take care out there.
#kagurabachi#long post#At least Azami got to show up in a new panel AND say some stuff this time I guess#Characters not having the one conversation they need to fix the issue(s) between them drives me crazy thanks to how overused it is in BL#WSJ please stop overworking Hokazono-sensei he can't even keep the few names he's given us consistent any more#I ragged on this chapter a lot but I don't think it's the worst thing ever like I did on the first few reads any more.#It's just a disappointment and probably my least favourite one so far.#There's such a thing as being TOO efficient with the writing.#Do you know how bad the fuck up is if I can't get excited over seeing cool people in suits?!#kb ch60

Hi I wanted to ask if you could write a new chapter for Higanbana Hime :)
I legit squeed when I saw this! I’m so happy you enjoy this series! I will be honest I haven’t worked on it in so long, but I’m going to do my best for this!
-Nadeshiko settled into the party easily, only being just a bit shy with the visitors from the Hindu Pantheon, as they were exotic looking, but mostly shirtless or wearing rather revealing clothing, something she was a bit unused to, but she was conversing with Shiva and Ganesha warmly as they both wanted to know more about her skills as a swordswoman.
-Ganesha’s eyes were sparkly, “So is being able to beat everyone so easily why they call you Higanbana-hime?” Nadeshiko turned white with a squeak as Raiden spat out his sake, choking on his laughter before he felt a chill run up his spine.
-He turned and saw Nadeshiko glaring over at him, a red tint in her eye as he held up his hands, begging for mercy as her face turned red, looking a little bashful, “That’s what others call me- mainly because I wear this.” She pulled her haori across to show them the pattern with the red spider lilies, explaining that in her culture they were a sign of death, and she gained the name when she traveled around, rescuing abused women- daughters and wives, from their abusive families and husbands. While the women viewed her as a hero for saving them, men who were intimidated by her strength and skills saw her more as a vengeful spirit, hunting down cruel fathers and husbands.
-Parvati pouted lightly as she was sitting next to Nadeshiko, looking at the beautiful details, “But let me guess- those abusive husbands and fathers didn’t see anything wrong with how they were treating the women and acted like you were a bad guy right?” Nadeshiko gave her a weak smile, telling her that she was correct.
-Kali had a hand to her lips, “But you don’t do this anymore, right?” Nadeshiko smiled gently over at her, her smile seeming like it held a secret, but Kojiro answered first, “She does! Despite being in Valhalla- sometimes there are still bad eggs that enter, but Nadeshiko is quick to deal with them!”
-Nadeshiko pouted lightly, pinching and pulling Kojiro’s cheek lightly, “Don’t tell them that- I don’t need anymore people scared of me!” he just laughed warmly before whining that his cheek hurt before she released him.
-Shiva was watching carefully, seeing how kind she was to Ganesha, speaking kindly to his wives, and being polite to him and the others and he knew that she would be a great person to speak to about this issue!
-Shiva shifted as everyone moved around, getting more drinks and food and she quickly found herself sitting between both Shiva and Raiden as the Hindu god spoke, “We would like your advice and opinion on this issue Nadeshiko- about marrying a human woman.”
-She nodded softly, knowing of the arrangement and the issues that arrived with it, asking her own question, “You want to marry for love, correct?” he nodded, looking over at his wives who were playing a drinking game with Kojiro and Okita, laughing and having fun, “I do- we all do- since whoever is chosen has to marry all of us. I don’t want to force anyone who isn’t willing but that damn geezer is going to force our hand if we don’t decide soon.”
-She nodded softly, looking up at him before Raiden grinned brightly, “Why don’t you do it Nadeshiko-chan? Marry Shiva and the others!” everything went deathly silent, eyes going wide as everyone turned to the three. Shiva was surprised Raiden was so forward about it, Raiden was beaming down at her while Nadeshiko was staring wide-eyed, like she didn’t believe what she just heard.
-From the tip of her toes to the top of her head she quickly turned bright red as she cupped her cheeks, once again looking like a pure maiden, “Wha-what- ME?!” smiles and laughter quickly filled the dojo, seeing this ‘fearsome warrior woman’ reacting in such an adorable way as her eyes were swirls.
-Shiva unfortunately made it worse, putting one of his hands on her shoulder closest to him, “I’m game- what do you think Nadeshiko?” it seemed like she was now glowing bright red as she eyes were spinning faster before she fell back, fainting from shock.
-More laughter filled the dojo as she stammered in her unconscious state, repeating the word ‘marriage’ over and over again. Raiden slapped his knee as he howled with laughter, knowing his friend was fine, “Maybe we’ll ask her again when she wakes up!”
-Shiva shared a look with Rudra, his wives, and all the others, all of them were smiling, silently agreeing that they were okay with this situation. Now they just had to get an answer from Nadeshiko, once she woke up.

Jas said, "rocket surgery," I said, "I love malaphors," and an OC was born. Have a peek into our process I guess lol

Note: His look and vibe was initially inspired by @endopyre's Cowbell
Jas: I get the vibe that he's a more reclusive Ghoul, the Weirdest of the Weird Quints
Sova: Maybe he works down in the archives with Chain. Primo's boys down there together
Jas: Yes yes, and it's odd to see him out of the archives or really anywhere during daylight hours. Something something kinda vampire adjacent lol he hates the sun
Sova: Chain runs the main desk but Malaphor is actually back in stacks and knows where literally everything is
Jas: No one even having to ask for said thing, he just knows and presents it to them. Sort of like a myth because it's so rare to see him, so his existence is fraught with rumors. Would he also be sort of goth-y like Chain? Or his own personal style?
Sova: I think I like Water/Quint for him. I think Chain's brand of goth is too over the top. He's just unnerving and eerie
Jas: The general aura is just off putting and strange /pos /aff
Sova: Also there once floated around the idea that piercings kind of held him together like rivets. I know picrew limits how many we can put on there but I vibe with that
Jas: I love that. Sort of Frankenstein's monster, also the true first Multi that was assumed to be a failure, as he's just not entirely right. Yet as he fades into obscurity, he allows for the "first" moniker to be bestowed to Bell. Or maybe he's a hybrid. Idk brain hasn't puzzled that one out yet. Either way, odd and sort of that "came back wrong" sort of feel. Does he talk? Or is he mute? If he talks, what's his voice like?
Sova: Slithery and echo-y and sinister
Jas: Just unnerving. A reminder that he is a Ghoul, an elder, an oddball
Sova: He appears human-ish but he doesn't *feel* human
Jas: Just not all there, not quite right
Sova: Like hearing whistling after dark
Jas: Malaphor is just that level of ominous and unnerving, like a mimic. He can even mirror others speech patterns and voices, but they're often not quite right. What if one of the more gullible, younger Ghouls discovers his existence is actually real and not just a rumor and they're just so, almost starstruck?
Sova: Phantom's Quintessence gives him a ping (like echolocation almost) and he feels like it was meant for Dew and either just lets him know or asks Dew to investigate with him. But also, does Chain know about Mal (official nickname lol) and just keeps him a secret?
Jas: I feel like Chain knows, and knows Mal's preference towards obscurity. He's attempted to even befriend the Ghoul, yet he's (Mal) just odd and not incredibly receptive. Phantom asking Dew to go down to the archives for something for him, the Quint feigning an ailment that would keep him from being nosey. He wants Dew to find this mystery Ghoul that is setting off his Quintessence alarms. And everyone knows Phantom is like a bloodhound when it comes to such a thing
Sova: Orrrrr maybe it's Mala sometimes? A mala is a Hindu meditation bead strand similar to a rosary and that's poking at me
Jas: Ooo yes yes, I like Mala, and the connection there. Also it's Spanish for "bad", specifically feminine, as malo is bad (masculine). And also apparently a seasoning that is numbing in its heat made from Szechuan peppercorns and chilis. Something something bad and also numbing, like an entity (such as a mimic) striking fear into those presented with the being
Sova: I want him to be a devotee of Kali and Shiva, Hindu destroyer Gods
Jas: Yes yes yes, I love it. Something something Mala also having plenty of henna art on him, his palms and hands always with intricate designs and patterns, with more specific meaning to him and his path. Mala also always wearing specific sets of mala beads for Kali and Shiva, bracelets or a necklace depending on his state of dress

Kali and Shiva, respectively
Jas: Also something something Sunny being too superstitious to even go down to the archives after the first time she heard Mala whistling and mimicking the voices of others. She noped out of there and refuses to even set foot near the door of the archives. Preferring to send Phantom or anyone else to go retrieve things for her, and sending him down there with so much black tourmaline Bug's pockets are weighing his pants down
Sova: Mala sending Bug back with a message, "You can call me Haint, bright one." And yes he gets a kick out of spooking her
Jas: Sunny scolding Phantom for sticking around long enough to get a message, such a motherly tone because she worries for the gullible young Quint. Telling him that next time if it doesn't come from Chain at the main desk, she doesn't want any of the literature down there. She is superstitious to boot, but it keeps everyone healthy and safe. And she doesn't spook easy either, but that put a chill in her bones ten fold. Would other Ghouls share that sentiment?
Sova: Not the weird Quints. They want to adopt him but he's such a loner. And not Chain since also spooky
Jas: How does Dew react when Phantom sends him down to the archives to encounter Mala?
Sova: Maybe he's internally hesitant, but outwardly it's the tough guy routine that everybody sees through but goes along with anyway
Jas: Something something his hesitation mirroring Sunny's and her warnings about a Haint. He doesn't fully believe but he can't help but be apprehensive. He talks himself up, going down to the archives for what Phantom needs even though he's got a sinking feeling in his stomach as he goes into the stacks after Chain directs him in the way he needs to go
Sova: Why do we think Bell and Rory don't consider themselves Hybrids, since they're also Quint plus only one other Element? Is their other Element stronger, whereas Mala is a balance like Dew, with his Water recessive so he just presents more Quint?
Jas: Hm, maybe it's all in how they view themselves? Bell has a balance between his Earth and Quint, yet he feels more aligned towards Multi. Rory doesn't have an opinion either way towards phrasing, but accepting Multi as that was her role in the band. Would Mala have that perfect balance, being a true hybrid like Dew? That it's something so rare, shared between the two
Sova: When we talked about Delta coming back wrong from his transition, I mentioned about Water and West being gateways to the Spiritual realms via Death and how that progression to Quint wouldn't normally have been painful or traumatic. Since then we decided the Ministry was very clinical/medical about it, and I'm thinking that contributed to hin coming back "wrong." He'd still have been gifted with his Oracular powers, but the way it was done is what fucked him up. Mala is constantly straddling that line, the liminal transition that is the pathway over the River into the land of the Dead, the stillness and cold before rebirth. He's basically still got one foot in the Pit, while Delta sees beyond the Veil but doesn't venture there
Jas: Oooo yes, I like that, so would that make Mala a hybrid in the traditional sense or a Multi?
Sova: I'd say Hybrid. He breaks the rules of being a Multi because he's balanced
Jas: Another question, how would Mael feel towards him? Like going down to the archives to pester Chain and there's that lingering ominous presence in the background no matter what
Sova: Mael gives Chain an extra gris-gris bag, mumbles about "bad juju" but trusts his mate, since they've at minimum been aware of each other for decades at this point
Jas: Mael absolutely trusts his mate, he's just wanting to be extra sure that he's protected. Chain is too stubborn to step out of the way of trouble when it finds him and Mael knows that
Sova: Brain also says Mala has agreements with Siblings who have dubcon/noncon/somno/Quintosis kinks
Jas: Yes yes, I love that. It definitely leans towards his more nocturnal appearances around, and he doesn't like being too tied down
Sova: Also fuck it, Quint powers mean he can basically teleport/become incorporeal/meld with shadows and move among them
Jas: Quint powers means he gets to be extra odd and spooky

Hey, I know the core Delta Green team’s politics aren’t all great, but I feel like the take that the take that their work is pro surveillance state is pretty uncharitable. I feel like a core theme of the modern setting is that the horrible actions of agents defending against the unnatural aren’t justified, and you can pretty easily draw that over to real world actions of our government “protecting” us from criminals and terrorists not being worth the human cost of the war on drugs and the war on terror.
I'm definitely a lot more cynical toward ArcDream for a few perhaps overly-specific reasons, and I've struggled to find a way to concisely articulate this vibe I've had about it. I think I'd like to do a more detailed breakdown /retrospective series on the more recent campaign and scenario guide to really get into the weeds of it.
The short of it is that you aren't wrong, but I think a lot of modern Delta Green's issues with the security state comes from this uniquely American idea of being "apolitically anti-authoritarian, anti-big government." It never makes the leap to being anti-imperialist or understanding how all these post-9/11 systems were just the mechanisms of global intervention and counter-insurgency turning inward. Having high speed low drag operators from the Program salting the Hindu Kush canoeing the Kandahar Giant in between skirmishes with the Taliban is badass, but spying on Americans or having those same teams operate domestically is bad. There are things that we do over there that we shouldn't be doing to American citizens over here.
Add to that the fact that the differences between the Outlaws and the Program, which could be fertile ground for saying something interesting, mostly comes down to "do want to play the old way like the 90s version where you have a shoestring budget or do you want to be a kitted out marauder with close air support?" It feels like there's an ideological contradiction at the heart of Delta Green that should imply nuance, but when you go looking for it you'll be hard pressed to find much substance-- hell at times it goes out of its way to distance itself from any idea of a real political conspiracy. Its a game about government conspiracies, that seems embarrassed to talk about government conspiracies. They just want to use it as an aesthetic backdrop to tell a story set in the mythos where you can blow up a Shoggoth with an AT4
Look, I don't need every piece of media to conform uniquely to my personal politics for me to enjoy it. But for me Fall of Delta Green feels like it walked away with all the more interesting ideas that made the original 90s game compelling, and demonstrates a more clear picture than modern DGs amorphous "spying is bad but so are terrorists and political extremists are also bad. The system is flawed but also you have to work within the system to save the world." Fall of Delta Green revolves around this central idea of "yeah you are a piece of shit, and all this shit catches up to you in 1970. But for 10 years you can do whatever you think you can get away with so don't even bother taking your foot off the gas." It tells you, very explicitly, how the story ends and what all this interventionism is heading towards before you even start the game. Add to that Fall of Delta Green's Grant-Morrison-esque off the rails worldbuilding about syndemes that's not afraid to get really high concept and... I don't know. I just prefer it more, personally.

Daniel and Terry are Catholic in Mobverse, Daniel especially so. A pious little Catholic omega…but.
For all that devoutness, Daniel wasn’t a virgin on his wedding night (at least in one way that is). Being Catholic, was it taught that one should be a virgin until their wedding night or…? Terry is of course a lost cause here (lol) or maybe Alphas are given more leeway vs. omegas? Like how for men in our world it is (still) considered okay for them to have sex but women are preferred to be virgins in many cultures.
In my head, the patriarchy of our world, in their world is Alphacentricness. That is not a word but it is now. For me, wayyyy back when, there was a very near extinction event in human history, after which Alphas and omegas as genders developed, next to the existing betas. Because tbh, we are bad at having babies, and with the species on the point of collapse... You get the omegas to have all the babies, but like, with all kinds of inborn protections, the Alphas to get better at fighting sabre tooth tigers and disasters (they will yeet themselves anywhere to protect the ones they love) and betas are still there because Alphas get themselves killed too easily and omegas aren't adventurous enough to keep progress going. They need to be balanced out. But! Our virginity focused purity culture is about property rights: men need to know whose offspring is theirs because they need to know who gets to inherit, and the best way to do that is to make sure a woman only ever has sex with the one guy. Can't make a man care for children that aren't his when no one else ever has sex with her. We've had paternity tests for a while now but they're still locking women up so a guy doesn't lose money to the wrong offspring. So the Church, being extremely patriarchical, is like "The best woman is a virgin woman, so never have sex ever, yay, man or woman but especially woman!"
My abo society is not about property rights, it's about having as many children survive as possible because omg we're going extinct. (We're not going extinct, but get that outta your lizard brain, ain't gonna happen). And since Alphas and omegas made it so that more puppies got born, the Church is like, Adam and Eve were beta, but then you got Alphas and omegas and Christ is both the Alpha and the omega and btw Alphas are the best of all genders. God is the Trinity of Alpha/beta/omega and the hierarchy is Alpha, then beta, then omega. Only not really because Alpha and omega are Christlike and yes betas get the Holy Virgin and Joseph and Adam and Eve but who are we kidding, that was before, now Alpha and omega are the godliest of them all, through Christ, even though the Virgin Mary exemplifies perfect betaness become godlike, too, with both Mary and Joseph revered in their steadfastness, serenity and devotion to God. And with Mary the very Mother of God, and giving life in this verse one of the holiest things you can be and do, she is right up there with the big boys. Daniel loves her. Absolutely loves her. She is the most human and he's just devoted.
Do know that I am just making this up as I go along and do not mean the slightest disrespect to our Catholics. This is simply how I see theology transforming under different circumstances. What is potentially scandalous about Daniel is not that he wasn't a virgin, but that he was 100% ready to reject the sacred union of Alpha and omega and instead wanted to run off with an omega which is so not allowed. Omegas can't marry each other, they're too emotional (and need to be controlled as the most valuable life giving resource. Beta women can die in childbirth, omegas almost never do, which means their pups have a better chance of surviving too).
Again I really hope not to be disrespectful to Catholics. I'm spitballing here. Please I have no idea what this means for Protestantism or Orthodox Christianity or Muslim or Hindu beliefs. Though they do all exist and Johnny is not Catholic and Anoush may have been baptised to marry Louie because omegas take their Alpha's faith, but he is culturally Muslim and his habits remain virtually unchanged. Louie doesn't care, it's not like he's a big fan of theology.

Thing that has been on my mind: Edelgard saying she's taking Fodlan back for humanity. The thing is, Sothis is the creator goddess. The Agarthans set the world on fire in order to live out their Fallout fantasies, while Sothis flooded the world in order to heal it. The old world was gone, she created Fodlan and possibly the non-Agarthan humans. Agarthan texts mention the land of Thinis, Malum, Septen, and Llium, lands that we don't see on any map because they were destroyed.
Sothis is the one who made Fodlan after it was destroyed, the Nabateans were the ones in charge afterwards until Nemesis started his genocidal campaign. So, really, it was humans who took Fodlan away from the Nabateans. They took away their home. FFS, that's what Edelgard means when she says "they'll return" when fighting Seteth and Flayn. They demand she releases Rhea and Fodlan, she says they'll get them back if they kill her. She isn't warning about the Agarthans at all.
Suddenly, one of the Nabateans being the Kalpa dragon makes sense. Kalpa's are very long periods of time in Buddhist and Hindu cosmology, the lifespan of a world or universe before it is destroyed and is recreated. The Kalpa dragon, the Crest of Goneril, is also tied to the Wheel of Fortune which symbolizes life cycles and karma.
Chalk it up as one more thing Ed is wrong about.
Wild Arms 5 did a plot about this. The "Aliens" that took over the planet were really the descendants of an ancient group of people who left Filgaia after accidentally destroying the environment, while the less-advanced natives are the descendants of those who stayed behind. The Veruni's racism and belief they are superior to the natives is meant to be a bad thing, and the game has a message of coexistence.
youtube
Sothis resurrecting in Thinis, named after a lost Egyptian capital. Malus means "bad" or "evil" in Latin. Septen means "Seven", but can also mean "North." Llium is... can't find anything on that spelling specifically

Enforcing Our Company’s Back-To-Office Policy Has Made Me Drunk Off A Power You Couldn’t Possibly Comprehend
Our company’s back-to-the-office policy strives to promote a healthy balance between remote work and in-office collaboration. By having team members return to the office, we can foster a sense of connection, strengthen our company culture, and, most importantly, make an HR middle manager like me drunker on power than you would ever believe.
Truly, my power high is indescribable. The Germans don’t have a word for how intoxicating it is to command people to spend more time in the physical presence of coworkers who could care less if they lived or died. The Romans’ Bacchus himself could never have dreamed of the wild orgy of elation I get to experience when I report to a team leader that their direct report didn’t arrive last Thursday as they said they would. And the Hindus never conceived of a caste high enough for those of us who get to remind their colleagues to fill out the shared Outlook calendar to schedule a workspace for their days in the office. Now I Am Become Death.
As a reminder, our company believes in-person attendance is a powerful way to build unity and cohesion, but that power dwarfs in comparison to what I feel when enforcing it. Sending out back-to-office mass emails fill me with an Atlas-like resolve. Forcefully weaning these babies’ off of their precious “work-life balance” makes me think of Hercules’ 12 labors as child’s play. And had I been able to call their personal cell phones to issue them a verbal warning for not being in the office enough, Genghis Khan and his Mongol Horde would have stopped dead in their tracks. King Kong Ain't Got Shit On Me.
Though my resolve is unrelenting, that’s not to say I won’t occasionally vary my approach. I’ll surprise someone with a “I hate to be the bad guy...” or “You know, if it were up to me...” when reminding them they have to spend two hours a day commuting if they want to keep their health insurance. But all this empathy is nothing but a performative sham. The truth is, if it WAS up to me, you’d all be chained to galley oars like Ben Hurr, where your rowing could power the vending machines in the break rooms that no one has used since the last Bush administration. I Am The Captain Now.
Some call me a zealot, but how could I not be with a responsibility this important? I’m charged with ensuring the company crams as many people as possible into our big, dumb open floor plan so they can all sit on Zoom calls with each other all day while our Wifi bandwidth totally tanks from it. Upper management charged me with the divine purpose of justifying the company’s inordinate, shortsighted investments into the office’s real estate and I have accepted that calling with an unbridled enthusiasm. I Am A Golden God.
There are no exceptions to the policy, as there are none with my power. You have a funeral to attend during one of your scheduled back-to-office days? Hey, why don’t you “Zoom in” to the service to pay your respects? What’s wrong - I thought you said being remote was JUST AS PRODUCTIVE as being in person? Allow me to remind you that your offer sheet said you were required to come to the office three days a week as terms of your employment and said nothing about you being able to adequately mourn for your mother. That’s right: Say My Name. (In case you forgot, it’s “Hayley” or “Sayge” or “Zacc” or something stupid because the boomers in charge outsourced this work to someone who was born shortly after 9/11).
Anyway, if you have any questions at all about this transition, please do not hesitate to reach out! But as a reminder I do not work Mondays, Wednesday, Thursdays, or Fridays.

the quote you reblogged : That is why mysticism is the only source of virtue for humanity. Because when men do not believe that there is infinite mercy behind the curtain of the world, or when they think that this mercy is in front of the curtain, they become cruel.
Made me want to ask you: Were you or rather are you ever in states where you don’t feel and believe there’s anything more to life? That there is no energy no soul everything is accidental and there is no higher power out there, that everything is meaningless and pointless. No matter what we do or think but it’s maybe easier or even necessary to believe that there’s something more to all of it, to us? Maybe we desperately need that? Maybe it would be impossible for us to function and keep sanity? Or are you unshaken in your beliefs, maybe life proved it to be true enough that you never get those nihilistic waves of everything means nothing
heyy. love the question, quick disclaimer :: ultimately, each person is entitled to their own beliefs. i believe what i believe, and allow others to do the same. also, re: the quotation, i think theres a differentiation between mythology and theology. its less directed toward the existence of a god, and rather pertains to the idea that a world/morality beyond that of the physical tangible realm is at play. if infinite mercy can be extended to people despite their past transgressions, in that, a person can make a mistake, but redeem themselves through their consequent deeds, it alludes to some higher goal to strive for than the base or hedonistic goals that otherwise drive us forward. if people didnt believe they could be better, or make good despite their past actions, being a better person, choosing to evolve, or choosing to self correct, would not only cease to be appealing but cease to be necessary. the fact we believe we can be better, should be better, and that the choice to be better leads to better, is what keeps the balance of good and bad in balance, and what keeps humanity from slipping into complete debauchery.
as for me, i was raised catholic & i didnt relate or buy into what they were teaching me at church. anytime i had a question the answers seemed completely far fetched and unbelievable, and i felt like people were more concerned with the idea of salvation, or the need to believe in something to feel there was an overarching purpose to life, than they were with what i understood to be the core principles of the religion. even the term religion rubbed me up the wrong way because i felt like, isnt it just a personal belief/conviction/way of life, opposed to a faction or group to 'belong' to. people spoke a good game but the enactment of what they spoke about left me wanting.
fast forward. beginning to ask those questions around age 7/8 was the start of my spiritual journey even though i wasnt aware of it at the time. by 10/11 i stopped going to church & was calling myself an atheist or agnostic depending on what my mood was on the day. not because i didnt believe or feel there was something out there, but because it didnt align with any religious views i was privy to at the time. then at 12 i experienced a traumatic incident, and as i started to spend more time alone i was shown certain things and would have very particular experiences / feel the voice of some force out in nature or speaking to me through my conscience. and when that happened i felt (not from the teachings or reasoning of anyone but myself) that that force and feeling i was encountering was my true understanding of god or this thing i knew existed but wasnt entirely sure about how it existed. that pervading presence, its voice and the way its guided me is the only reason i believe in a higher, supreme power.
thats when i began to study life thru the humanities and in doing so form my opinions and ideas on what i believe regarding my views on the world & spirituality. i studied through the lens of the bible, the qu'aran, hindu teachings, buddhist teachings, syncretism, kemetic texts and teachings, new age spirituality, gnosticism & even science. i feel as though all of them have appealed to me and allowed me to grow in knowledge and understanding & that whilst they use different language to explain themselves, they all point toward and explain one truth. however beyond that the point still stands that i just believe. — ive had experiences i cant doubt, and feelings i cant doubt, not that i havent doubted them, or questioned, but each time i did it only confirmed my initial belief and made me believe more strongly. and so yeah, without that fundamental belief, all of it would just be a beautiful story. i could read every text, but if i didnt believe in what i was reading it would be no more than a harry potter type situation. i couldnt be swayed into pretending i believed, not for the idea of heaven, a promised land, or eternal salvation. thats not what i get out of this. my relationship w god saved my life and it keeps rebirthing me, educating me, & moulding me, and in doing so brings new meaning to things id previously read & doubted/didn't understand (think the concept of ressurection). anyway
i know people are religious and believe in god (whatever term or label u wanna give that force) for a variety of reasons. i cant speak for them, because im sure many people do believe for the reasons u stated. my reasons are simply that i feel and believe there is a higher, supreme, overarching force, that is the matrix of the spirit that permeates every living thing. i think theres a design to the world, one too specific to be down to chance. i think life is eternal and that there is a point to the experiences and growth or lack of that we experience in this life. that generationally it has significance and that it will one day account for something bigger than what we can see or comprehend right now. and i feel that when i look into the spirit of another being whether its human animal a tree or fire/water etc, that we all share the same force that ignites and powers our beings. & those are a just a few of the reasons why i believe
<3 hope this answers for u. sending my love

3/30/2025: Poor Myanmar and Thailand suffer destruction similar to Gaza where they have to sig with their hands through the run les to pull out survivors. Gazan children and people had to suffer with Israel IDF who ran their American made bulldolzers on top and into the rubbles being buried and crushed alive. I checked and Myanmar and Thailand are allies of Israel; and Myanmar is doing very evil things to Asian Muslims where a BBC radio did a segment where a ethnic Muslim man choked in years when asked about his people being forced to flee. That was why an ancient Buddhist temple collapsed in this earthquake. Sad huh. I love ancient buildings. I don't know about the conflict in Myanmar but I know my Buddhist people can be better even though them Muslims are terrorists. Buddhism promotes a human as God or atleast down down and worship a human (Buddha). That's wrong. Humans didn't creat the planet, universe, or universe and beyond. Hindu don't believe in God as a non-human-force that created the universe or universes and beyond either. As the female Buddha who embraces basic teaching of all religions and using my atheist thinking if it was a human being (Jesus, Buddha, Mohammad, Maria) who created the universe and my common sense said, "No way girlfriends and boyfriends.". Thus, the Buddhist in Myanmar, Thailand, and Nidus are not protector of reincarnation theory of life: only a Buddhist in Vietnam near Cambodia and Laos. Even smaller eyes Buddhists in Japan can't protect reincarnation theory of life for Japan is also chummy with Isreal and Japan is a democracy. Buddhist in Nepal where daila Llama lives just recently granted gay marriage; thus. Too weak to stand up to defend reincarnation of life. India, my hinduism who kicked Buddha out, is not a good protector of reincarnation because India admires Jewish power in America and India wants that kind of influence in America. Plus India hates a tiny Muslim community on border line of Indian and some Muslim country (Bangladesh?) who wants to be separated from India. And India forgot their painful British colonial pain so they side with zionism and colonist in this Isreal-Hamas war. Shame shame India.
Only Islam and Judiasm believe in a non-human-force that created the universe, but Judiasm is using money and weapons by people and a religion that promotes man or human as God who created the universe (Lord Jesus Christ). No way girlfriends and boyfriends. Islam kills if you expose the face of Muhammad to order humans not to worship humans in the stage of God. Judaism doesn't teach that, but Judiasm was one of the co-conspirators (the other conspirator is the Romans who became Christians and in church of the Bible, too. Wow! Talking about hypocrisy) of nailing Jesus (a human being where nearly half of planet worship as God: Lord Jesus Christ). Now Judaism and Christianity in form of Protestants are out to kill Jesus again by trying to fight on this Biblical war to control Bethlehem and Nazareth to spread their gay democracy flags to destroy Jesus' reputation and turning him to look like a gay Messiah with the gay flags in the town where he was born. Thus, the end of Christianity. Shame shame Protestant Christians and Israelis and some Jews. Shame, shame, shame. Sometimes young souls in humans and in religions can think they are doing good for their religion or their Lord Jesus Christ, but it take an ancient soul like "toi", Trang, to figure out that what the American pRotestants, Protestants, and Israelis, and some Jews are doing is BAD for Jesus and BAD for Christianity. I saw a gay flag in Israel on TV a year ago during this war. I just saw a gay umbrella in Gaza 2 months ago in beginning of the second ceasfire with a Gazan man holding the gay flag umbrella. Shame, shame, shame Gazan lost man with the gay flag umbrella. Trang's work at 51.94 years old. Tuesday is my first time I will tell a psychiatrist who I say I am (a human being who happens to carry the hardcore heterosexuaity of God as a non-human-force that created the universe (s) and beyond?, Jesus' father, Allah, Yahweh, Brahmin, Ong Troi, or etc., or the female Buddha or hardcore heterosexual female philosopher, and female Freud. I pray this is my last post. Off I go to another Tumblr. Take care folks and children and I'll be ready for an earth in bay Area for there are many rich tech people and company who supports Israel in this war and of course the Palestinie lawsuit enjoys its break sitting in 9th appeal court for7.7 months while the Gazan children died in humanity 's first war where the most children is found (30% of population: War Against Children or Genocide. I am also willing to punish myself in this earthquake in th Bay Area (where I live in the heart of it) for it was my tax dollars that helped in killing Gazans children and this War on Children.
------
Hey everyone, God (non-human-force that created the universe or universes and beyond) clicked on a heart emoji on this post. I didn't do it. I swear.
-----
Just heard on NPR radio of Trump's man saying he has no phone number of that editor whom he accidentally added to the conversation about attack plan against Yemen. Dear lost humans, that's God (non-human-force that created the universe or universes and beyond,) showing himself there for you. I told you humans in my recent post that conservative America and Trumps and Biden (the forces of current empire) will meet God soon as he is about to reveal his existence in weird-non-human-made coincidences to see who is the boss: human or a non-man-force via Christianity who promotes that God is a human being via the Lord Jesus Christ (who. Came down only as God's son); however, Christianity labeled hima as God-man so that makes it OK to worship a human being looking man (Jesus) in the place of his father. I could be wrong so let's sit back and see more evidences of God with the timing of my US Supreme Court appeal submission, to an earth quake in Bay area and San Francisco to punish Biden people sitting on my Palestinian lawsuit for 7.7 months and where I got hurt, to more weird natural disaster in conversative areas for those who voted for Trump so he can "finish the job" in Gaza with hima dn Netanyahu bombing during Ramadan celebrations who killed massive number of women and children. God disapproved of Trump's bombing in Yemen on a Ramada night of people going out to celebrate, so God punished those involved with inadvertently added a journalist in the party with attack plan placed in it to destroy Trump's MAGA version of white DEI reputation of unqualified white people being hired to support Trump at all cost.
------
Anyhow, I might have to do one last post for a petition of rehearing which will cost me $200 to lecture any U.S. Supreme Court judges who dare to defy the law of the land by dismissing my lawsuit.
See ya later. I'll be away from Tumblr to rest my arthritis, eyes ,na dold brain cells, and prepare to die and lose everything in a a Bay Area earthquake.

Mere Christianity Podcast: Episode 4

Book 2: What Christian's Believe
Chapter 1. The Rival Conceptions Of God
I have been asked to tell you what Christians believe, and I am going to begin by telling you one thing that Christians do not need to believe. If you are a Christian you do not have to believe that all the other religions are simply wrong all through. If you are an atheist you do have to believe that the main point in all the religions of the whole world is simply one huge mistake. If you are a Christian, you are free to think that all these religions, even the queerest ones, contain at least some hint of the truth. When I was an atheist I had to try to persuade myself that most of the human race have always been wrong about the question that mattered to them most; when I became a Christian I was able to take a more liberal view.
But, of course, being a Christian does mean thinking that where Christianity differs from other religions, Christianity is right and they are wrong. As in arithmetic-there is only one right answer to a sum, and all other answers are wrong: but some of the wrong answers are much nearer being right than others.
The first big division of humanity is into the majority, who believe in some kind of God or gods, and the minority who do not. On this point, Christianity lines up with the majority-lines up with ancient Greeks and Romans, modern savages, Stoics, Platonists, Hindus, Mohammedans, etc., against the modern Western European materialist.
Now I go on to the next big division. People who all believe in God can be divided according to the sort of God they believe in. There are two very different ideas on this subject. One of them is the idea that He is beyond good and evil. We humans call one thing good and another thing bad. But according to some people that is merely our human point of view. These people would say that the wiser you become the less you would want to call anything good or bad, and the more clearly you would see that everything is good in one way and bad in another, and that nothing could have been different. Consequently, these people think that long before you got anywhere near the divine point of view the distinction would have disappeared altogether. We call a cancer bad, they would say, because it kills a man; but you might just as well call a successful surgeon bad because he kills a cancer. It all depends on the point of view. The other and opposite idea is that God is quite definitely "good" or "righteous." a God who takes sides, who loves love and hates hatred, who wants us to behave in one way and not in another. The first of these views-the one that thinks God beyond good and evil-is called Pantheism. It was held by the great Prussian philosopher Hagel and, as far as I can understand them, by the Hindus. The other view is held by Jews, Mohammedans and Christians.
And with this big difference between Pantheism and the Christian idea of God, there usually goes another. Pantheists usually believe that God, so to speak, animates the universe as you animate your body: that the universe almost is God, so that if it did not exist He would not exist either, and anything you find in the universe is a part of God. The Christian idea is quite different. They think God invented and made the universe-like a man making a picture or composing a tune. A painter is not a picture, and he does not die if his picture is destroyed. You may say, "He's put a lot of himself into it," but you only mean that all its beauty and interest has come out of his head. His skill is not in the picture in the same way that it is in his head, or even in his hands expect you see how this difference between Pantheists and Christians hangs together with the other one. If you do not take the distinction between good and bad very seriously, then it is easy to say that anything you find in this world is a part of God. But, of course, if you think some things really bad, and God really good, then you cannot talk like that. You must believe that God is separate from the world and that some of the things we see in it are contrary to His will. Confronted with a cancer or a slum the Pantheist can say, "If you could only see it from the divine point of view, you would realise that this also is God." The Christian replies, "Don't talk damned nonsense." (One listener complained of the word damned as frivolous swearing. But I mean exactly what I say-nonsense that is damned is under God's curse, and will [apart from God's grace] lead those who believe it to eternal death.)
For Christianity is a fighting religion. It thinks God made the world-that space and time, heat and cold, and all the colours and tastes, and all the animals and vegetables, are things that God "made up out of His head" as a man makes up a story. But it also thinks that a great many things have gone wrong with the world that God made and that God insists, and insists very loudly, on our putting them right again.
And, of course, that raises a very big question. If a good God made the world why has it gone wrong? And for many years I simply refused to listen to the Christian answers to this question, because I kept on feeling "whatever you say, and however clever your arguments are, isn't it much simpler and easier to say that the world was not made by any intelligent power? Aren't all your arguments simply a complicated attempt to avoid the obvious?" But then that threw me back into another difficulty.
My argument against God was that the universe seemed so cruel and unjust. But how had I got this idea of just and unjust? A man does not call a line crooked unless he has some idea of a straight line. What was I comparing this universe with when I called it unjust? If the whole show was bad and senseless from A to Z, so to speak, why did I, who was supposed to be part of the show, find myself in such violent reaction against it? A man feels wet when he falls into water, because man is not a water animal: a fish would not feel wet.
Of course I could have given up my idea of justice by saying it was nothing but a private idea of my own. But if I did that, then my argument against God collapsed too- for the argument depended on saying that the world was really unjust, not simply that it did not happen to please my private fancies. Thus in the very act of trying to prove that God did not exist-in other words, that the whole of reality was senseless-I found I was forced to assume that one part of reality-namely my idea of justice-was full of sense.
Consequently atheism turns out to be too simple. If the whole universe has no meaning, we should never have found out that it has no meaning: just as, if there were no light in the universe and therefore no creatures with eyes, we should never know it was dark. Dark would be without meaning.
Chapter 2. The Invasion
Very well then, atheism is too simple. And I will tell you another view that is also too simple. It is the view I call Christianity-and-water, the view which simply says there is a good God in Heaven and everything is all right-leaving out all the difficult and terrible doctrines about sin and hell and the devil, and the redemption. Both these are boys' philosophies.
It is no good asking for a simple religion. After all, real things are not simple. They look simple, but they are not. The table I am sitting at looks simple: but ask a scientist to tell you what it is really made of-all about the atoms and how the light waves rebound from them and hit my eye and what they do to the optic nerve and what it does to my brain-and, of course, you find that what we call "seeing a table" lands you in mysteries and complications which you can hardly get to the end of. A child saying a child's prayer looks simple. And if you are content to stop there, well and good. But if you are not-and the modern world usually is not-if you want to go on and ask what is really happening- then you must be prepared for something difficult. If we ask for something more than simplicity, it is silly then to complain that the something more is not simple.
Very often, however, this silly procedure is adopted by people who are not silly, but who, consciously or unconsciously, want to destroy Christianity. Such people put up a version of Christianity suitable for a child of six and make that the object of their attack. When you try to explain the Christian doctrine as it is really held by an instructed adult, they then complain that you are making their heads turn round and that it is all too complicated and that if there really were a God they are sure He would have made "religion" simple, because simplicity is so beautiful, etc. You must be on your guard against these people for they will change their ground every minute and only waste your tune. Notice, too, their idea of God "making religion simple": as if "religion" were something God invented, and not His statement to us of certain quite unalterable facts about His own nature.
Besides being complicated, reality, in my experience, is usually odd. It is not neat, not obvious, not what you expect. For instance, when you have grasped that the earth and the other planets all go round the sun, you would naturally expect that all the planets were made to match-all at equal distances from each other, say, or distances that regularly increased, or all the same size, or else getting bigger or smaller as you go farther from the sun. In fact, you find no rhyme or reason (that we can see) about either the sizes or the distances; and some of them have one moon, one has four, one has two, some have none, and one has a ring.
Reality, in fact, is usually something you could not have guessed. That is one of the reasons I believe Christianity. It is a religion you could not have guessed. If it offered us just the kind of universe we had always expected, I should feel we were making it up. But, in fact, it is not the sort of thing anyone would have made up. It has just that queer twist about it that real things have. So let us leave behind all these boys' philosophies-these over-simple answers. The problem is not simple and the answer is not going to be simpler either.
What is the problem? A universe that contains much that is obviously bad and apparently meaningless, but containing creatures like ourselves who know that it is bad and meaningless. There are only two views that face all the facts. One is the Christian view that this is a good world that has gone wrong, but still retains the memory of what it ought to have been. The other is the view called Dualism. Dualism means the belief that there are two equal and independent powers at the back of everything, one of them good and the other bad, and that this universe is the battlefield in which they fight out an endless war. I personally think that next to Christianity Dualism is the manliest and most sensible creed on the market. But it has a catch in it.
The two powers, or spirits, or gods-the good one and the bad one-are supposed to be quite independent. They both existed from all eternity. Neither of them made the other, neither of them has any more right than the other to call itself God. Each presumably thinks it is good and thinks the other bad. One of them likes hatred and cruelty, the other likes love and mercy, and each backs its own view. Now what do we mean when we call one of them the Good Power and the other the Bad Power? Either we are merely saying that we happen to prefer the one to the other-like preferring beer to cider-or else we are saying that, whatever the two powers think about it, and whichever we humans, at the moment,, happen to like, one of them is actually wrong, actually mistaken, in regarding itself as good. Now if we mean merely that we happen to prefer the first, then we must give up talking about good and evil at all. For good means what you ought to prefer quite regardless of what you happen to like at any given moment. If "being good" meant simply joining the side you happened to fancy, for no real reason, then good would not deserve to be called good. So we must mean that one of the two powers is actually wrong and the other actually right
But the moment you say that, you are putting into the universe a third thing in addition to the two Powers: some law or standard or rule of good which one of the powers conforms to and the other fails to conform to. But since the two powers are judged by this standard, then this standard, or the Being who made this standard, is farther back and higher up than either of them, and He will be the real God. In fact, what we meant by calling them good and bad turns out to be that one of them is in a right relation to the real ultimate God and the other in a wrong relation to Him.
The same point can be made in a different way. If Dualism is true, then the bad Power must be a being who likes badness for its own sake. But in reality we have no experience of anyone liking badness just because it is bad. The nearest we can get to it is in cruelty. But in real life people are cruel for one of two reasons- either because they are sadists, that is, because they have a sexual perversion which makes cruelty a cause of sensual pleasure to them, or else for the sake of something they are going to get out of it-money, or power, or safety. But pleasure, money, power, and safety are all, as far as they go, good things. The badness consists in pursuing them by the wrong method, or in the wrong way, or too much. I do not mean, of course, that the people who do this are not desperately wicked. I do mean that wickedness, when you examine it, turns out to be the pursuit of some good in the wrong way. You can be good for the mere sake of goodness: you cannot be bad for the mere sake of badness. You can do a kind action when you are not feeling kind and when it gives you no pleasure, simply because kindness is right; but no one ever did a cruel action simply because cruelty is wrong-only because cruelty was pleasant or useful to him. In other words badness cannot succeed even in being bad in the same way in which goodness is good. Goodness is, so to speak, itself: badness is only spoiled goodness. And there must be something good first before it can be spoiled. We called sadism a sexual perversion; but you must first have the idea of a normal sexuality before you can talk of its being perverted; and you can see which is the perversion, because you can explain the perverted from the normal, and cannot explain the normal from the perverted. It follows that this Bad Power, who is supposed to be on an equal footing with the Good Power, and to love badness in the same way as the Good Power loves goodness, is a mere bogy. In order to be bad he must have good things to want and then to pursue in the wrong way: he must have impulses which were originally good in order to be able to pervert them. But if he is bad he cannot supply himself either with good things to desire or with good impulses to pervert. He must be getting both from the Good Power. And if so, then he is not independent. He is part of the Good Power's world: he was made either by the Good Power or by some power above them both.
Put it more simply still. To be bad, he must exist and have intelligence and will. But existence, intelligence and will are in themselves good. Therefore he must be getting them from the Good Power: even to be bad he must borrow or steal from his opponent. And do you now begin to see why Christianity has always said that the devil is a fallen angel? That is not a mere story for the children. It is a real recognition of the fact that evil is a parasite, not an original thing. The powers which enable evil to carry on are powers given it by goodness. All the things which enable a bad man to be effectively bad are in themselves good things-resolution, cleverness, good looks, existence itself. That is why Dualism, in a strict sense, will not work.
But I freely admit that real Christianity (as distinct from Christianity-and-water) goes much nearer to Dualism than people think. One of the things that surprised me when I first read the New Testament seriously was that it talked so much about a Dark Power in the universe-a mighty evil spirit who was held to be the Power behind death and disease, and sin. The difference is that Christianity thinks this Dark Power was created by God, and was good when he was created, and went wrong. Christianity agrees with Dualism that this universe is at war. But it does not think this is a war between independent powers. It thinks it is a civil war, a rebellion, and that we are living in a part of the universe occupied by the rebel.
Enemy-occupied territory-that is what this world is. Christianity is the story of how the rightful king has landed, you might say landed in disguise, and is calling us all to take part in a great campaign of sabotage. When you go to church you are really listening-in to the secret wireless from our friends: that is why the enemy is so anxious to prevent us from going. He does it by playing on our conceit and laziness and intellectual snobbery. I know someone will ask me, "Do you really mean, at this time of day, to reintroduce our old friend the devil-hoofs and horns and all?" Well, what the time of day has to do with it I do not know. And I am not particular about the hoofs and horns. But in other respects my answer is "Yes, I do." I do not claim to know anything about his personal appearance. If anybody really wants to know him better I would say to that person, "Don't worry. If you really want to, you will Whether you'll like it when you do is another question."
To be continued in episode 5, based on the works of CS Lewis.
A Christian apologetical book by the British author C. S. Lewis. The book consists of four parts: the first presents Lewis's arguments for the existence of God; the second contains his defence of Christian theology, including his notable "Liar, lunatic, or Lord" trilemma; the third has him exploring Christian ethics, among which are cardinal and theological virtues; in the final, he writes on the Christian conception of God.

Asteroid VARUNA (20000) in your astrology natal chart 💕✨💸
(updated version) - by : brielledoesastrology (tumblr)
<Ok so basically i ever made a post on varuna like maybe 1 year ago if i am not wrong and turns out there is some stuff there that needs to be corrected, so i made this new post>
Asteroid VARUNA code number : 20000
[also just a reminder that varuna is a "dwarf planet" or a "trans neptunian object" not an "asteroid", but i am just gonna use the word "asteroid" to make it easier]
The asteroid Varuna (20000) in astrology represents : being globally known, legendary fame, amazing leadership skills (if relating to politics or being a leader of something), being iconic, being unforgettable, immortality, being believed by other people easily, charisma, immortal fame and power, grandness, fame that is in history, being extremely rich or wealthy (if relating to money or material stuff), having a feeling that the universe is always in their side, being judgemental, being connected to the waters (especially ocean water), immense, vast, hugeness, greatness, immortal fame.
Mythology of the vedic god Varuna : Varuna is the name of an ancient Indian creator-deity. He created heaven and earth and determined their outer limits, as the horizon. He is also responsible for ensuring that the sun crosses the sky each day, for rainfall, and the order of seasons. He is the supreme keeper of human order and god of law, insisting that people be truthful and honour their oaths and contracts. (Just a reminder that varuna is a god in the vedic era but in today Hinduism varuna became the god of the ocean, but he is still a vedic god from the vedic era originally). Varuna, in the Vedic phase of Hindu mythology, the god-sovereign, the personification of divine authority. He is the ruler of the sky realm and the upholder of cosmic and moral law (rita), a duty shared with the group of gods known as the Adityas (see Aditi), of whom he was the chief. Varuna is also the vedic god of the heavens, cosmic and space in vedic. (Please understand that i am not an expert on vedic mythology, so if you are an expert at it you can correct me in the comments if i am wrong)
⚠️ Warning : i consider this asteroid as prominent and brings the most effect if it conjuncts ur personal planets (sun, moon, venus, mercury, mars) and if it conjuncts ur personal points (ac,dc,ic,mc), i use 0 - 2.5 orbs (for conjunctions). For sextile, trine, opposite and square aspects to asteroids i usually use 0 - 2 orbs. Yes tight conjunctions of planet / personal points to asteroids tends to give the most effect, but other aspects (sextile, trine, square, opposite, etc) still exist, even they produce effects. If it doesn't aspect any of your planets or personal points, check the house placement of the asteroid, maybe some stuff/topics relating to this asteroid could affect some topics/stuff relating to the house placement . ⚠️
Some observations about famous people who have the asteroid varuna prominent in their astrology natal charts ✨ :
- people with varuna conjunct their descendant are very influential people but they are alot of fans and alot of haters who really hate them at the same time (example : Eminem, kim kardashian, paris hilton, vladimir putin)
- people with varuna conjunct mars are very vastly well known for their martian qualities (example : maddona)
- people with varuna conjuncting their personal planets but it is badly aspected by other planets are ussualy vastly known but for their bad qualities (example : jacob elordi, shia lebouf)
- people with varuna conjunct their vertex or anti - vertex are fated to be vastly well known (example : alexa demie)
- naomi campbell have varuna conjunct sun opposite her neptune this really make sense she is very vastly known of her shady entertaining personality, i love it 😂
- people with varuna prominent in their chart if they become famous or well known they will be considered as like a "king" or "queen" of something by alot of people

okay. i had stopped engaging with this thread of my own accord and i apologise to everyone who's gonna get notifs again because i decided to wake this up. (I'm sorry to you too, swan. I said I was done with this post and I woke this up again. Sorry if you got a notif) now, i get called all sorts of things on twitter that i never feel the need to defend myself against because it's always zutara shippers doing it and i can't take any opinion, no matter how valid, by a ZK shipper seriously enough to warrant engagement. yes, i know it's wrong and just because someone ships ZK doesn't mean they can't have valid takes. but i have been in the fandom long enough not to give ZK shippers the benefit of doubt (i know it's wrong!) i just reserve the right to be a hater. there isn't even any deep reason behind it. ZKs on twitter call me stupid all the time. lmao. ZKs calling anyone stupid, the jokes write themselves.
but! since it's fellow zuko blog that assumed i lack media literacy, i feel the need to defend my honour ( was that a zuko pun? guess we'd never know!)
i am assuming the best intention here: i am not good with words and i was especially angry at avatar studios for their mistreatment of mai when i made the og post--so that meant i was even less eloquent than usual. it doesn't help that zuko is a fan favourite and overall more important so they don't even care to develop him as a better boyfriend (this was before ashes dropped and now i do think given how little zuko appeared, hicks did him much better than yang ever did. i'd never forgive yang for how he massacred my darling boy). so you'd find me using things that even i would argue are ooc against him--in certain cases--because other characters (especially mai) never get the kind of grace he does. yes, he's my fav. but he ain't a girl.
so, if i am not good at explaning something (i know i'm not) that's on me and not on people who might misunderstand. assuming that i didn't convey what i was trying to in that post, i am making this one. this time, with examples!!! yay!!! (i used to get bad grades in essays because i have difficulty putting abstract ideas into words and you know how i worked around it? comparisons and examples. it did help my grades)
list of shows/movies with chosen one/monarch leads (basically people with huge responsibilities to the world/their countries) prioritising their love interest
castlevania: nocturne

“No! You’ll kill her, Sehkmet. You’ll kill Annette. I don’t care about the world. I don’t care if we live in eternal fucking darkness. Leave her alone. Leave Annette alone!”
sekhmet is a goddess who has taken over annette's body to defeat the villain. because she needed a mortal vessel for it. but it was too much for annette's body to control all of her powers. annette was on fire and richter uses his ice magic to hold her and keep her temperature down.
jodhaa/akbar
"to all present and the mughal empire, i say this for the last time: queen jodhaa is a hindu rajput, she is my wife and the empress of india. any act against her is an act against the mughal empire."
this movie isn't hundred percent historically accurate but mughal emperor akbar did marry the hindu princess jodhaa for diplomatic reasons and he also has the reputation of being a tolerant ruler. but speaking of only the movie here: the mughal court was opposed to an inter-religious marriage but akbar stood steadfast in his support of jodhaa.
baahubali: the conclusion
a whole lot of plot here. the hero's evil brother (who wants the throne) manages to wheedle a promise out of their mother that he'd marry the princess the hero loves (the mother did not know of the love story until now) anyways, the hero goes against his mother and everyone in court and is ultimately stripped of his birthright. he chose her over the throne.
and finally, ATLA itself!
Why would I choose cosmic energy over Katara?
i made sure to pick all the heroes. because dracula of castlevania is the ultimate loverboy, but he was very much the villain (a great husband though). i don't want zuko to be dracula. although i think it's a fun little concept to play with in some dark au. that's why we love fanfiction, don't we? zuko would have to stay a villain for that though! which is why i don't blame him for leaving mai in a letter. it's one of the most forgivable things he has done with regards to her given she was a villain until this point and the narrative had the responsibility of supporting the right thing (and not only does mai forgive him immediately, but proceeds to put her life on the line for him). i find his behaviour in the beach deplorable! and of course, him not screaming, crying, throwing up after the boiling rock. which i do think is ooc! no matter how i twist it, it is simply too ooc for zuko, who's fatal flaw is that he cares too much, not to spare mai a single thought after she was willing to die for him. i know it can only be explained away by out-of-universe reasons: they didn't have screentime (could have cut out that useless ember island players ep), the narrative doesn't give a flying fuck about mai blah blah blah. ZKs love to ooh and aah and say he forgot her in prison... don't they realise how bad it makes zuko look? i thought they were supposed to be zuko fans and they can't even tell when something is ooc for him? and given how mai gets so much hate for not being a good girlfriend to zuko--remember how i say a lot of zuko hate tends to be reactionary?--so, think about it: zuko didn't care for the safety of the girl who saved his life. how's that for being an s-tier jerk? (for the nth time: i know it was ooc) but what if zuko wasn't granted so much wiggle room by the fandom?
now let's talk about consequences a little, shall we?
in castlevania: nocturne there aren't any because alucard steps in and tells richter "annette wouldn't want it" and that's what makes him let go of her.
when i watched that the first time i was immediately struck with the idea to draw a comic where zuko tries to jump off the gondola when he sees mai committing treason. it would be incredibly in-character. this guy thinks laws of physics don't apply to him and acting irrationally in stressful situations is kind of his brand. he'd probably have thought he'd bend the heat when he hits the water or something--he'll figure it out, fly by the seat of his pants--very zuko. only for sokka to tackle him and remind him he'd be throwing away mai's sacrifice if he gets caught or killed or both. the former would lead to the later anyways. and that's what would make him acquiesces. respect for mai's sacrifice. but we can't have good things i suppose (i'll draw it someday)
jodhaa/akbar: the religious leader in akbar's court teams up with his brother-in-law to try and overthrow him.
baahubali: he loses the throne, yes. but this event leads to a domino effect that gets him killed. ooops.
aang: much like richter, he lets go of katara for katara's sake. even then he's narratively punished for it. immediately.
this brings me to my point: these were all heroes, they managed to do their duties in the end. they managed to do the right thing. choosing their love interests is something the narrative supports them for doing. richter and aang were loverboy extraordinaire. for akbar and baahubali, they did the right thing too. hence why they were heroes. an alliance between the mughals and rajputs avoided a lot of bloodshed. and baahubali was right: his mother shouldn't have given word about devasena's marriage without her consent. here the forces around them/their duties require them to do something that is wrong (kinda like how what's legal isn't necessarily right).
baahubali's tyrant of a brother becomes king, but he goes and lives among the peasants and protects them. he gave up the throne for his wife but he managed to do his duty to the people in his country.
after the war, something similar could be done for maiko now that mai is not a villain anymore. there isn't going to be any moral quandaries.
showing zuko prioritising mai even though he is a monarch and has the responsibility of an entire country would not only make for good romance writing but also show zuko in a good light.
honestly, i find the "that's what loving a monarch is" argument tired and boring and not at all revolutionary. i find the writing in the above mentioned movies and shows (notice how few of them i was able to find!) so much more refreshing. given that we live in a society where let alone expect men to be good partners, it's actively discouraged! (simp is an insult for fuck's sake) a woman being loved and cherished by her partner above all else is refreshing.
and forget about romance, there's nothing interesting in the "that's what loving a monarch is like" and "mai would always come second" in terms of writing either. managing to balance duty and love both would make for much more interesting writing: aang's whole arc was about that!
even before i shipped maiko hardcore, i always loved atla. and the reason was the message it imparts through aang: he managed to neutralise ozai without sacrificing his air nomad values and/or katara. i still see people complaining that aang didn't sacrifice anything: first of all, he lost his entire people. what more do you want? secondly, there's nothing glorious in sacrifice. no one should have to do it! stop romanticising stuff like that! sacrifices have to be made, yes, respect the people who do that but always remember they shouldn't have had to do it! do not glorify it. systemic failure needs individuals to sacrifice themselves. treat the root of the cause.
kinda like how aang ended the war and ushered in a new era where no one would have to choose between their loved ones and doing the right thing.
that's the message of atla and it's freaking amazing.
i think the "that's what loving a monarch is like" argument is "aang didn't sacrifice anything!!! a hero should have to!!!" in another format. the sentiment behind the two is the same.
it's the kind of sentiment that is also behind the term "collateral damage".
besides, while watching the show i also noticed in the boiling rock, zuko's first instinct isn't to tell mai that it's for a greater cause and that it isn't about her (which he does tell her later, but we'd come to that in a bit) but it is to apologise to her for the hurt he's caused.
when he tells her it isn't about her, he's lashing out (much in the same way that led him to call iroh lazy and jealous of ozai and mai a big blag) when mai objects to it ("thanks, zuko. that makes me feel all better") he immediately goes back to apologising again. and explains to her, without trivialising the hurt he's caused her, why he had to do it. even in a lockup, in a difficult situation, he doesn't invalidate mai's hurt feelings (which much of the fandom does: "it isn't about you, girl! he has greater things to do". but zuko didn't act holier-than-thou with her). the "women don't understand larger obligations" is also a misogynistic pitfall atla managed to avoid with maiko. first with zuko acknowledging that leaving her in a letter was wrong and later by having mai switch sides. she protected him while he fulfilled his larger obligations.
it was clever writing. "that's what loving a monarch is like" is not.
mai does accept she would always come second, i have no doubt. that doesn't mean the audience--or zuko--should stand by that.
i want maiko to be an equal and healthy romance. as of now, zuko has yet to match mai's boiling rock level of devotion from a meta perspective--and i know avatar studios don't care enough to do it.
i can even give evidence that it would be completely in-character for zuko. idk why people have this reading of him that he cares for honour/duty above all else but that's a fundamental misunderstanding of his character.
pay attention to what a character does, not what a character says. zuko yells "honour" and "destiny" quite a lot but he isn't hesitant to throw honour out the window when the situation calls for it.
as for what zuko really cares about: it's people. above missions and duty and honour and causes. zuko cares for people.
he got his face burned for some recruits he had never seen. what's more, he didn't care about battle strategy, he cared about people.
he prioritises his crew's safety over his mission (capturing aang).
he almost got his cover blown when he witnessed bullying in the boiling rock and sokka had to hold him back.
he took lightning for katara (good thing katara was someone who was able to fight azula and heal him too) but i have no doubt he'd have done it for some random bystander too. and then what? he'd have died and azula would've been firelord. or maybe not given ozai was defeated but still. everything was up in the air. zuko wasn't thinking. His instinct is to put people above all else.
zuko cares about people above all else. the narrative supports him for it. it is never implied that it is something he needs to grow out of. zuko as firelord would not stand for "collateral damage." i want him to do something like the bullet points above for mai too.
ashes was good enough that it stopped me from dropping maiko like a hot potato. mai got to breathe outside of zuko and zuko acknowledged that "wouldn't [she] want to make sure other little girls don't go through what she did?" he granted her agency and he has her back. this was something i predicted on twitter months before ashes released btw.
anyways. all this when avatar studios are probably not even thinking about it this way. they only listen to mai-bad-girlfriend complains (which she wasn't, she was a great girlfriend) they are ready to shave down her unconventional personality to appeal to mai haters (it ain't gonna work. bloom @goldenchloris made an amazing post about it here.) (which the og cartoon was careful not to do, aaron ehasz got fanmail about it) but they really don't care to show zuko being a good boyfriend--he's improved in ashes but it's still not close to what mai did for him in tbr. and here i gave myself a cramp typing all that.
bye!
I never took maiko's bad writing seriously because it was so clearly a tertiary sub-plot
When Zuko goes "they let out you of prison?" I was like "wtf" but only for a moment
Because him simply forgetting her was THAT unthinkable for me. He doesn't move like that.
I shipped maiko because I found it interesting that someone gloomy and morose like Mai was paired up with Zuko instead of someone who could stereotypically fix all his problems. I loved seeing the side of him that only comes out when he's with her!
Maiko's a great ship when you love Zuko and don't care for Mai. It was like that for me until I joined the fandom and saw zutara wouldn't leave Mai alone.
Seeing them constantly mock her for the way Zuko treated her made me like her more and go "wow, Zuko's really a jerk huh?"
I started shipping Maiko because I liked Zuko and now I might stop shipping it because I like Mai.
Unless I find it tragically romantic that Mai gives it her all for a man who doesn't even think of her when she's not infront of him and doesn't love her as much as she loves him (which I don't) I can't ship Maiko
I'm pretty sure they'd get back together in Ashes of the Academy but if Zuko doesn't explicitly prove that he's going to value and cherish her going forward, then idc that it's canon, I'm done with this ship.
#i just felt like word vomiting#this made me take my laptop out#and yes i really did take the media literacy comment to heart i'm not ashamed to admit that#maiko#also a whole bunch of other things#atla#castlevania: nocturne#baahubali#jodhaa akbar#castlevania#i want mai to be loved and cherished#she deserves it#unconditionally so#zuko is already more important character having mai make sacrifices for him while he doesn't reciprocate that doesn't send a very#comfortable message imo

hello! could I request a scenario where the y/n of thor, loki and hercules or shiva suffers an anxiety attack to such an extent that she faints while they lost sight of her for a moment please.
I hope this is fine! I’m sorry if I got anything wrong!

Thor didn't know how to react, neither what he was supposed to do, when he found you. Just a couple of minutes earlier you were right beside him, apparently doing fine.
He immediately looks for help, there is no reason he should try to work things out on his own, after all it's actually the first time the God of Thunder had to deal with this kind of situation. He puts his pride aside and asks the other deities to check what happened, staying by your side until you won't feel fine (and even after that).
He isn't used to this kind of events, but will try to prevent this to happen again. He felt powerless, and what let this happen twice as long as he is by your side.

It's difficult to fool someone as Loki, he is the one who is supposed to fool others. Yet, despite noticing that something was definitely off, he couldn't understand what that bad omen was. Then you disappeared and when he found you again, you were laying unconscious. He thought he knew you better than everyone else, but failed to notice something this critical.
Loki isn't as clueless as Thor and doesn't need anybody's help, yet this doesn't reassure him at all – for once, he is feeling guilty. He knows he often surpasses the limits when pulling pranks, but wasn't expecting this to happen. Loki is scared this might be his fault.
Once you wake up, he will apologize – even if you tell him that he isn't the cause of your malaise. Still, this doesn't reassure him enough, from now on Loki will be more careful – he already was, despite trying to hide it – because he regrets not being able to help you earlier.

The moment he lost sight of you – even for barely a couple of minutes – Heracles panicked. He could tell when you weren't feeling well, almost as if he could actually read your mind and that was one of those moments. He knew he should have been with you; what he didn't know was were he could find you. It was when he heard Göll scream that he reached you.
Despite the valkyries telling him to go get some rest – and that they would have looked after you while he was away – but he firmly refused, Herculed had already allowed you to faint and he wouldn't had been able to forgive himself if anything else happened to you during his absence.
When you will recover, Hercules will immediately hold you close to him, happy to see you fine again. He will swear you to protect you always but also to trust him, telling him if there's anything that's making you feel bad, so that you can reach a solution together.

Shiva is the calmest one – actually he is really concerned about you but doesn't show it, after all he has to be the model the other deities of the Hindu pantheon should follow, he can't allowa himself to show his fear and concern.
Despite his easygoing and carefree attitude, this time he wants to have a serious conversation with you – of course, once you will feel well. He had been too busy lazing around to notice that you weren't feeling well, but now regrets it.
He is caring towards you - he always is, but now even more - you notice how he is taking measures subtly, so you can feel at ease even when he’s not around. Even from afar though, he is always checking you are fine - which made him the object of Rudra and the other deities’ jokes. He doesn’t care about their teasing, it alleviates his worries over you.
