buuuh thinking about how like basic things about the carapacians are just. not cared about, or are overlooked in a sense
like the basic parallels of terezi , vriska and snowman and spades are known but it’s so easy to see how that extends to kanaya and rose or how jade john and PM and WV switch in a sense(with jades and WVs situations on the three year trip being very similar at least post recon)

you know what. screw this. i was gonna try to be funny about it by sending younes an ask about kanaya after i met her but time's run out on that clearly.
THIS IS MY OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT. I HAVE STARTED ON HOMESTUCK. IM SO SORRY EVERYONE
anyways its pretty good. ive finished act three and the first intermission with the midnight crew (which ill be honest. didnt care a ton for. i know that theres some plot significance to it because i recognise the names Snowman and Lord English so i didnt skip it but it took the wind out of my homestuck sails HARD) and uh. good comic. big fan of jade (which does not surprise me in the slightest) and relate a little too much to rose (which DOES surprise me quite a lot, i wasnt expecting to like her a ton), but all four of the kids are supremely well-written thus far.
#i havent read from it in like four days and i entirely blame the midnight crew.#sorry mr spades slick but you fail to captivate me in the same way as the beta kids#i think that going in knowing basically the whole cast has *really* negatively impacted my experience reading it unfortunately#because unsurprisingly im the most invested in the characters the fandom cares the most about#re: the kids and the main twelve trolls#and to a lesser extent those other twelve trolls whose categorical name escapes me#which is fine hypothetically#but it also means that i find myself sorta brushing over segments with the midnight crew or the wayward vagabond and co.#because i wanna get back to having my mind melted by the big four#anyways my formal apology for reading homestuck will be released in 5-7 business days and get out of my house#and the void screameth back#greenyball

well most importantly to me, the panel art of the latest upd8 was absolutely spectacular!!!!
#tuna.txt#upd8 spoilers#i thought the writing was interesting but maybe could have gone on a little longer#i think kanaya should have gotten to speak a little more#im not crazy about jades characterization in. all of 2#i think it this they did better-ish but shes still not the jade i know#also i think the.... cringe? of candy is based in that i think candy is supposed to reflect maybe the worst possible outcome for earth c?#idk. im not sure how to word it but i mainly read 2 for its panels lolz#how do i put it.... its like the fallout 3 of homestuck?#there are lots of aspects i actually like about it!#but in comparison to its predecessor i think theres a lot 2 doesnt understand about hs proper?#someone out there probably knows a more eloquent and thought out way of saying it!#also i actually really like ruby. shes such a little punk and reminds me of 13 year old rose#i saw somebody else point out that they see candy rose as rose at her worst#which i think furthers my idea that candy is meant to represent most of the cast at their worst#or being effected severely by the others being at the worst#i guess its not a horrible way to rewrite lore reasons for the kind of misogynist air of making jade rose and jane be at their worst#to ME the true post canon is kittyquest lol but 2 presents some *interesting* character avenues!

have you / will you read post canon? I find it interesting, there's definitely problems but I find some moments really cool and taking a whole new direction with homestucks initial ending makes it very special. it's definitely not perfect, tends to be like TV-MA homestuck, but I feel like there's a lot of aspects underneath the dir(k)t that make it charming in its own way. Maybe it's just the perspective I like to read things in though.
I’m not sure I’ve ever heard anyone speak kindly about post canon (that’s homestuck 2 right? The candy and meat thing?). It’s nice to know there are some people who enjoy it amidst the hate it goes through. I’m sure lots of people put a lot of effort into it. That being said, no, I’m afraid I’m not interested in reading it. I don’t have a big reason besides just being content with where homestuck ended. And also I’m discouraged by the bad things I have heard.
#a little more in depth- I’m not like. the most interested in character relation type drama stuff. which I believe post canon focuses on#I really really liked the humor and just insanity of the first acts of homestuck#I enjoyed the lower quality drawings honestly there’s something I really liked about homestuck when it felt like more of a passion project#I like sburb a lot- it’s one of my biggest draws to homestuck#and if they’re not playing sburb I don’t know if I’m interested#sorry!!
