heyyy zero escape fandom, i have a fic idea thats in the works !!!! ik im just Some Guy but hopefully ill post it. heres the logline

akane kurashiki struggles to adjust to life without the guidance of red strings. or: akane opens her eyes to the strain of her relationships and the ways in which her trauma has affected her.

so basically when i was playing thru ztd i had this idea of a post-ztd fic where junpei meets aoi without pretenses (bc in 999 he just knows him as santa and not aoi) and yk. insert haha funny shenanigans. but then i realized thats Boring so i scrapped that. then i wrote a fic abt akane and aoi's strained relationship post 999. though i didnt finish it. and THEN i had an idea where the kurashiki siblings, the klim family and junpei go on a roadtrip only to witness a murder. but never wrote it. so this fic was born, basically combining all those ideas (akane and aoi's strained relationship, aoi and junpei meeting, and the kurashikis interacting w the klims also junpei is there). the idea of focusing on akane's trauma was bc i was reading someone's analysis post abt the subject

akane as a character is someone i resonate with a lot but i wont go into that bc thats Personal! and it sucks how canon barely acknowledges her trauma and how she struggles and maybe even comes to terms w it. 999, in essence, is abt the cycle of trauma. its abt akane regaining agency, recreating the environment that traumatized her. which makes sense as to why she acts the way she does in ztd (rlly unstable, panicky, doesnt have a plan despite usually calculating and in control. like she literally got kidnapped Again and isnt around sigma and phi who she initially planned with, why do u expect her to act like she usually does. i wish ppl understood this abt her character). 

so in a post-ztd scenario, where she's supposed to be in a safe environment without planning any nonary games or saving the world, she feels like she's lost control which she feels she desperately needs to stay on top. so she dives herself into work and controls every aspect of herself and her relationships to the point where it makes her physically ill fhdjhfd but i promise theres a lighthearted aspect but i wont cross that bridge till we get there

Quirk: Enchantment

By feeding off of others’ positive energy, the user can create colourful, sticker-like talismans that enhance the wearers’ skills and abilities! These stickers won’t work on the user, though, and they’ll fall off once all their energy is used up.

Putting too much of their energy into these stickers can cause the user to become exhausted (physically and emotionally), and overall their quirk can take a serious toll on their mental health.

Quirk: Wight

The user can “absorb” others’ negative emotions, channeling them into bad luck and/or happenstances that they can inflict on others. However, they experience the bad luck in conjunction with their target(s), and they can only store up a limited amount of negativity at a time.

The more negative emotions the user stores up, the more it will affect them (mentally-emotionally; psychologically). They cannot control the form the “bad luck” takes, but they can get a vague sense for it.

Quirk: Apparition

The user can appear as an intangible (though fully visible) apparition to those who love them. Their projections will not be visible to those who don’t love them, and they (the projections) cannot perform actions that defy the laws of physics (such as floating mid-air).

The user’s quirk varies based on their definition of love, and thus, may expand to include unhealthy relationships as well. Their projections are separate entities from their physical body.

Hooray for more uncensored swearing! Sorry, this took so long! It’s hard to think of things for the Autumn Troupe since I don’t know them super well!

🍁🧡Banri Settsu🧡🍁

Whenever it's time for practice, Banri begins by smacking the back of Juza's head! (Not super hard, but enough for it to piss him off)

Diluc main, that is all. Before he got Diluc he was an Amber main, and somehow was good. Still uses her every once in a while!

Slightly intimidated by languages sometimes, I dunno how to explain it, so hopefully the dialogue does!

Chews on things a lot when he’s nervous! He always has gum or a lollipop to avoid chewing on his shirt, his nails and other inedible things!

On nights where he just can’t sleep, he’ll go on walks or drive around on his motorcycle!

Terrible with eye contact and looking like he’s paying attention. Sakyo has to snap his fingers at him to make sure he’s listening!

Y’know the awkward sibling hug from Gravity Falls, he and Kumon have done that...a lot. It’s not actually awkward though, they just liked the show!

Cried twice when he got his piercings, the first time was because he was very, very afraid, the second time was because he was so happy that he looked good with them!

Has Heelys! One time, he tried to 'heely' into the rehearsal room, but he immediately fell over!

Plays the ukulele! He wanted to play guitar because he saw someone serenading their partner with it at school! He borrowed Masumi's guitar but bar chords suck and his hands are kinda small, so he settled for the uke!

"Aghhh! How do you play that! That hurts my fingies!"

"But you're only like an inch taller than me!"

Has a Tiktok! He doesn't post often, it's more for looking at memes or sick outfits. (He does the dances though! He's pretty good at them but they're all in his drafts since he's not super confident in them!)

Y’know how kids crawl up the stairs really fast. He does that. Constantly. Kazunari joins in, sometimes. It pisses Sakyo off a lot, but he gave up on trying to get them to stop.

Sakoda got him a mug that said #1 Dad but he crossed it out and replaced ‘Dad’ with ‘Aniki’! Sakyo still drinks out of it, sometimes!

Azami also made him a friendship bracelet when he was a lot younger. Sakyo doesn’t wear it (because it doesn’t fit him anymore) but he still has it! He likes rubbing the beads between his fingers.

Good at trivia! Like, really good. He somewhat enjoys Trivia Murder Party. (I just watched a play through and skipped to a random question, I have no idea if it’s actually hard lol.)

Often criticizes Izumi’s eyeliner and ends up just doing it for her. N-not that he minds or anything!

Played Love Nikki at some point, I do not take that much criticism.

Because I think the troupe/play themes are canon, he definitely helped with Shake the Shape and wrote some of RESPAWN!

Always has extra hair ties on him, even though most of the others don’t really need them. Most of the time, the hair ties end up being used for...other purposes.

What do you think about the ending of jtbc`s lost. And what do you think of Bu-Jung Kang-Jae? They are a breathtaking pair. And it is not often that I find a pair so addicting to watch.

After sleeping on it and processing everything, I really liked the way the show ended and it was how I expected it to end. Obviously there's always like 'wish list' type of scenes you want from your main pair and on a different show, maybe those more 'fairytale' kind of scenes would make sense and fit. But this show was too realistic for that and it would've cheapened the ending I think. The open ended scene with our Bu-jeong and Kang-jae was so fitting for these two. Any grand romantic gesture or over the top finale scene would be a disservice to them imo. Putting the rest under the cut cus it’s long haha also some spoilers

Bu-jeong and Kang-jae are both quiet characters. They often say very little in their scenes, both together and with other people. It's interesting that the times we hear them speak the most are in those voiceovers - the unsent letters and unsent text messages. I agree so much with you, they were such an addicting pair to watch on screen. I'd often think of them during the week between episodes. Hats off to the writer and director for portraying two amazing characters that weren't caricatures or unrealistic. I loved the show's theme of love and how people give, receive, accept, push away, and cling to love... both romantic and platonic/familial was woven into the story so well.

One thing that stuck with me is how Bu-jeong's father meant so much to people in different ways and they all loved him in their own way. Obviously he meant the most to Bu-jeong... he was her whole world for so long and as she said in her final letter to him, she'd never lived a day in this world without him. To her husband, he was a father figure he never had and truly loved him like his own father. I really loved the scene on the bed when he tells her that he was jealous of her for having him as a father. Even to the mother in law, there was a deep respect she had for him and he was someone who she could confide in about her past knowing he’d never tell a soul. To Kang-jae.... I wish we had more scenes of them together, but the one we got with them in the hallway when he said that no one ever talks about how being young is lonely. It was like he SAW Kang-jae and it sort of took him aback. I love that all the moments before he was being kinda cheeky or passive aggressive with giving him the cake so he’d remember them/Bu-jeong, and yet it was unexpectedly a gesture that stuck with him for months later having kept the flower decoration. Yes, he kept it because of Be-jeong but that link to her father was also there. I loved every time he walked by the apartment door he would pause or glance over. And the final scene where he went to take him some dinner and found out the bad news... oof that was heartbreaking. Also, in the tent when Bu-jeong talks about how people all think she’s angry and thanks him for saying she looks sad instead... I loved that moment because she had said how everyone looks at her a certain way and he comforts her by saying not everyone - not her father, and not him. It’s one of those small moments where he knew how to reach out to her and part of that was because of that link they have with her father.

....Idk where i’m going with this but I just really loved this show. I loved that it ended with a fresh start for both of them. Kang-jae seems to have grown his business and hopefully has started to learn that love doesn’t come from the person who pays you the most, but instead just making his money in the best way he knows how (get your $$$, king!). Bu-jeong finally getting a clean slate, so to speak, and looking happier and lighter than ever. I was so glad that she seemed free and content and her career was maybe back on track finally. Also nice to see her wedding ring missing. If they had stayed together they’d both be miserable. We don’t know if he ever got back together with his first love/affair and for the purpose of the story it’s kinda nice not to know. I’m glad they both got to speak the truth for once to each other in that bedroom scene. It seemed cathartic and long overdue. 

The look Bu-jeong and Kang-jae share at the end made my heart soar. It started out as genuine surprise on his end that was met with a look from her like she was gauging his reaction. She definitely went to the observatory in hopes that she’d see him, the look on her face almost has a questioning look like she wasn’t sure if he’d want to see her again. His face also looked slightly pained like it almost HURT to see her again, but in a good way. That way you’ve been longing to see someone for ages and you finally catch their eye in a crowded room. The little scoff he does that makes her smile the tiniest smile and then we see him finally smile back. :’))))) 

When she told her husband that she liked someone but she hadn’t told him... oof that hurt my heart but this final scene makes me know they have a future together in some capacity. The way they’ve both grown over the course of the series and learnt things about themselves and life... They weren’t ready to be together for real when she was still married and still processing her grief and depression and he still had to figure more things out for his own life. But I think now, they actually have a chance to be something real... They’ve found each other again after months apart and I think they’re ready to start over. Together.
