More notes for Roach conlanging. Roach has grammatical gender, in which only Male, Female, and Object are grammatical genders, whereas Worker uses feminine grammar, Queen and King use a slight variant on feminine grammar, and Drone, and Queen-Alate use masculine grammar. This is because King is derived from Queen, due to their similar positions in a colony, and Queen-Alate is derived from Drone, as both are forms of alate.

Queen is an alteration of feminine grammar that functionally just adds a handful of extra syllables to it, and King is an offsprout of Queen that uses the same grammar with different pronouns. Queen-Alate, despite the name, is derived from Drone, as they are both for referring to different types of alate ant.

I truly cannot stand Google docs.

I'm organizing recipes that I've printed over the years, some of them dating back like 15 years, and there's quite a few that are just. The web page, including ads and reviews and a bunch of shit that I just don't want, and they're poorly formatted and I don't even bother following them when I want to make butter-cake or whatever, I just find a new one and follow it on my phone. Others are typed out or handwritten and I have no idea the origin. So the idea is to type them all up, have more uniform formatting and just make them easier to follow for me personally.

Unfortunately the easiest program for this is Google docs, because it's easy to print from and the tabs help me keep track of where I am. Except for whatever reason none of my styles will stick. No matter how many times I make them the default, and apply the default to the next tab, it doesn't work. It goes back to their default. And it's like. A two point difference in front size, and not being aligned correctly. So it's easy but it's tedious to have to fix it on every single recipe.

If there's a better free program out there, I'd love to hear it. Ellipsus (that I use for writing) isn't as easy to print individual pages from, and I'd have to create separate documents for each recipe, which I don't want to do. Microsoft word would be the same thing, I'm pretty sure.

And I know it doesn't matter it's just annoying.

How did your flight go??

Okay, so, the flights themselves were fine, but the flight from Miami to Buenos Aires got delayed, which was so annoying because I ALREADY had to wait in the airport for ten hours, and then I ALSO had to stay overnight. Which, actually, wasn't that bad bc I got to finish watching BBC Merlin and also sleep, but it also meant that I didn't meet my host family for a whole extra day.

But the flights themselves were fine. I watched some TV. Read some Dracula. Wrote at least 6k words in my current WIP.

I truly fucking hate how some of these side gig tasks are formatted/instructed. Your shit doesn't make sense; the field you claim exists for me to type in isn't there (if it is, it's greyed out and there's no way to change that on my end) and I appreciate a room full of tech bros doesn't want to take five minutes to have an arts/english major read over and edit their shitty instructions so they're actually something a person can comprehend without reading it over five times, but also. Fuck them; it would not take that long and the money you're wasting on this project won't be any less wasted if you pay someone to proofread your shit that's an actual human, and not an AI.
