i know i can, i have been making an active choice lately to stop myself before saying a name given by the american occupation and questioning what land i'm really on or really speaking about, and rewiring my brain to think less in terms of city, state, country, and more in terms of the wide breadth of land that is Turtle Island and her historical and modern territories stewarded by First Nations peoples

i know this is sometimes thought of as performative, it very much can be, but it has culminated in me alongside action to support the communities that (at least some of) my ancestors colonized and settled. if you are not Black, Indigenous, or a refugee, you are not as dissimilar to the average israeli settler as you might like to think, especially if you balk at correctly naming the land. the colonization of Turtle Island is ongoing and it's all of our jobs to dismantle this occupation, from the words built in to our every day to the institutions they represent.

anyways if you, like me, are on the lands of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy / Seneca, you might know they do not collect land tax. but i encourage supporting Ganondagan State Historic Site in their mission to connect Native youth with their culture and wisdom from their elders, educating everyone on their values, and fostering respect and understanding within Native and settler relations. some of my earliest memories are of the long house and land there and i encourage anyone with the ability to come visit sometime; it's breathtaking.

i also encourage all settlers to research what land you're on right now (this website is a great resource) and see how you can materially support the people whose land you're on. you can search your address, click through a list of tribes who have/had stewardship over the territory, and from there find each tribes websites and projects.

Of the transmigrators, who would be the most insane about holidays? And how would the disciples react to seeing their shizun going insane on an ostensibly random day?

Qi Qingqi, she used to be an influencer and she loved loved loved the holidays and loves decorating, giving and receiving gifts, she would decorate the entire mountain if let loose and allowed to run wild. During the month of December, she would turn the peak into a winter wonderland then throw a feast and gift giving session on new years eve (because she loves seeing ppls reactions)

(she's not celebrating Christmas but she just loves the vibes and looks of Christmas)

people usually held smaller celebrations for the new years so this wasn't really that jarring for the disciples, it was only when she brought out these strangely themed decorations that they started raising eyebrows
