PCG: SO YOU DIDN'T REMEMBER SEEING THIS FROG WHEN YOU WERE A KID AT ALL? ?GG: no, it completely slipped my mind
I’m not surprised; it was the notoriously scatterbrained Dream Jade who encountered this frog, after all. She probably thought it was another Skaian illusion, and dismissed it out of hand.
PCG: HOW DID SHE GET YOU TO REMEMBER? […] ?GG: well, like it was before ?GG: the choices she gives you seem to have to do with facing mortality ?GG: and making it clear if you choose one path over another it will lead to your death ?GG: and that your death may even be necessary to accomplish a goal FGA: Yes Ive Inferred Their Ultimata Are All Personalized Variations On The Presentation Of Such Dilemmas
Well, that certainly fits Davesprite’s Deringer situation - and Alt!John’s encounter with his Denizen ended in his death, so I guess the implication is that he made a Choice, too.
What about Kanaya, though? She didn't accept her Denizen's terms; if she had, would she have died as well?
Let's try and think this one through. If we roll with my theory that she was asked to ensure the trolls were responsible custodians of their universe, she’d probably have had to deal with the Players who wouldn't let that happen. That means taking on Eridan, at the very least, which could easily have turned violent. Maybe they'd kill each other, just like in the Alpha Timeline - but since Kanaya agreed to die, she wouldn't be walking away from this one as a rainbow drinker. She'd be gone for good.
In this scenario, the trolls would have their Final Frog, and presumably, their universe would have been less problematic as a result. They might actually have been able to enter this iteration of their universe - not as tyrants, but as bad-tempered custodians. Grim auxiliatrices, if you will.
What about Doomed John, then? Kanaya’s statement implies that he could have chosen to live, but how is that possible in a doomed timeline?
Well, maybe Typheus offered to un-doom John's timeline, promoting it to the new Alpha - and at the same time, he explained Davesprite's importance to the original Alpha, making it clear that preserving the current timeline would retroactively erase everything that was 'supposed' to happen. John could have sacrificed the future to preserve his present - but ultimately, he chose to die, so that countless others would live.
Alright, I think I’m starting to break these Choices wide open. Let’s try and puzzle out Davesprite’s first Choice, then – the one he made in his original timeline, and implicitly rejected by fleeing.
By abandoning Hephaestus, Future Dave chose to live – so if he’d heard his Denizen out, he would have had to die. Perhaps his offer was similar to Doomed John’s - Hephaestus could have 'repaired' his entire session, allowing Future Rose to win it, but she’d have to win it entirely alone.
He fled, though, so he survived, instead of his session. Sounds like if you reject your Denizen’s terms, you live, and if you accept them, you die...
?GG: that is not really what made this hard ?GG: i mean ?GG: nobody wants to die of course ?GG: but at least… ?GG: that is a clear thing
...and Jade accepted her Choice.
Oh, no.

pls literally anything kate martin it’s so dry out here 🙏🙏 maybe like kate x influncer reader or something idk
Sure can! We'll get through this drought together ✊ (Did I write too much? Yes. Do I regret it? No.)
Kate Martin x influencer/soccer player reader
How you two met: You play for the soccer team at Iowa university. So naturally, after the season ended you usually spend some of your afternoons playing pickup soccer at the local parks nearby to satisfy the itch to always be playing your sport. Another hobby you also like to do a lot is to record your journey. You vlog about your flights, your training, practices, your tips on how to have a balanced life between sports and studies, and some behind the scenes with your team members. You have a fairly large following of 500k subscribers due to your personality and engaging content. On one particular afternoon, your fiery competitive spirit and impressive skills are able to catch the attention of one particular person amidst the small crowd that always gathered to watch the simple matches. It was none other than Kate Martin. Once the match ended you had seen one of your teammates walk over towards you and Kate followed right behind her (since Kate seems so friendly i def think she hangs out with other athletes outside of basketball). As you packed your things, you felt a pair of pretty eyes staring at your every move. You decide to start the convo up by saying that you watch all her games because you love the way she plays. You watch as her cheeks get a little rosy and she goes on a cute little rant about how she watches your vlogs and videos and that, whenever she could, she would drop by to see your team play. You joke that you guys should hang up so she could teach you to play basketball before your teammate says that she and her girlfriend (who was someone you play with and against constantly in these simple matches) had to go. She leaves you alone with Kate and you bring up that you guys should definitely hang out and she brings out the idea of going to recovery together cuz why not since she will undoubtedly be busy with her own season starting. You agree and that’s the beginning of how you two started talking.
How you got close: So as mentioned above, you guys definitely see each other around the athletic and rehab center in the university. Since you practice off season, you prefer to be safe than sorry and attend your recovery session religiously. Thanks to this, you guys are able to strike up conversations here and there but they're never too long. Not until you need to get into the dreaded ice bath for one session after being inexplicably sore for days on end. You decide that it's the perfect time to get your camera out and record your funny reaction to it to later post it. While walking over to your doom, you come face to face with Kate. You shamelessly note that she was wearing really revealing clothes. She smiles and asks where you’re headed and you explain and she immediately asks if she could join you cuz she was going over there too. Once you get there you turn on your camera and explain to the viewers what was going to happen. While you did that, you felt Kate looming behind you. You stop the camera and ask what’s wrong and she gets a little embarrassed asking you cute questions about how the camera worked. You laugh and give her a little class while you two sit side by side while you show her the basics. She jokes that she would love to be your camerawoman and you don’t have it in you to say no. Not with the way she stares at you with her eyes. (Anyway before I get carried away) You set the camera up so that it catches you both while you get into the big tub of ice. She laughs as she watches you shuffle awkwardly towards the cold pit of despair and pokes at you with jokes about how you look rn. You shoot her a look and grab a handful of water to throw her way. She shrieks and grabs your wrist to stop you, letting her hold lingering a little longer than normal (you also note just how strong Kate is). Snapping out of whatever was between you all of the sudden with her touch, you look at the camera and think screw it, getting in hastily without double thinking about it. You regret it immediately, screaming and Kate doubles down with laughter. What she doesn’t expect is for you to yank her inside out of spite. In an attempt to stop herself from falling into the cold water, she holds a hand out towards the edge, but you’ve tugged her down enough for her to have no choice but to step over the edge and fall into the tub. This, however, leads to you being placed in another unfortunate position. She holds the edges of the tub, trying to adjust to the coldness, while single handedly pinning you to the edge of the metal tub. It takes a few seconds to register, especially with you looking up at her while she lets out short puffs of air, while her muscles on her toned stomach contract. Kate seems to notice this and moves back to the other side. You clear your throat and turn to the camera with a funny face while you ignore the rosy blush that has settled on Kate’s face. After this it was just a mixture of flirting and flattery between you too.
She went to see you often when you played and brought you snacks or just went to simply support you. It’s obvious you started to show up more recently to her games to watch her play in person instead of from your home. It’s hard to say if that was the reason, but whenever you went to her games she always showed off. Whether it was double-doubles or even one triple-double. When the games would end she would act all cocky and say that it was normal but you would see the blinding smile on her lips when you would tell her good job. What you liked was how the adrenaline crash would hit her (not in a bad way) after a hard and long game and win. She would be super soft and slow and be all cute. You once insisted on driving her towards her dorms because she was too tired and she insisted on putting on music. You let her ofc and what follows is her singing her heart out while lazily looking over towards you every now and then. She reaches over and uses your hand as a mic and you can’t help but laugh. After a few songs you notice how the playlist switches to flowers songs and Kate never lets go of the hold of your hand.
No question she loves being in your vids. She has also definitely made you do a challenge video about hot sauces (ik it’s random but she def would). Other than that, you both do a bunch of silly challenges together. She also gave you the idea of starting this new “series” of her just basically teaching you the basics for basketball and vice versa. This becomes a huge hit online. What goes on behind the scenes is different tho. On video, you guys seem strictly platonic and playful with you cracking jokes and making fun when you mess up really bad on one certain move. However, once the cameras are off Kate is more free and less tense. She is more touchy, especially when showing you how to shoot the basketball properly (Like you can’t tell me this woman wouldn’t wrap her arms around your shoulders to position your hands on the ball. Don’t even get me started with defense and the way yall would be so close). You (I) also find it lowkey hot whenever you guys are done with your little secession and she’s panting and sweaty. You lowkey like it even more when she gets out of the locker room showers all clean and fresh.
How she asks you out: After basically a few weeks of her popping up in your vids both of your fans suddenly notice you two getting closer and closer. One day you’re recording while walking to get a massage. You turn a corner and come face to face with what seems like a wall. You jump back when you realize you just ran into Kate. You turn the camera off and smile up at her. You ask her where she’s headed but something’s off. You watch as she doesn’t look at you and avoids any type of eye contact as she fumbles over her words. A laugh comes from you as you go up to turn your camera back on but she shocks you by snatching the camera away. You ask her what was wrong and she mumbles something you can’t catch so you ask her to speak up and even get on your tiptoes to lean into her space to hear her better. She tries again and you can faintly hear her asking you out on a date. To say you were shocked was an understatement but you would be lying if you said you didn’t feel something forming between you too after these weeks spent together. Ofc you said yes.
You guys go out to a cliche aquarium date (bc i love aquariums what about it). Once you guys get there it seems like something has lifted off her shoulder and she’s acting like a totally different person. She’s more touchy and a real charmer (shamelessly putting an arm around your shoulder and uses her height over you to her advantage. When someone gets too close she definitely stands next to you and the person to create distance and def had a sweet interaction with a kid I mean c'mon). She’s taking sneaky pics of you and trust she would kiss you under those tunnels with the blue lights and fishes, making her look so good after you both tiptoe around it all day.
How it is to date her: (keeping it on the DL is so sexy idc what anyone says) Although Kate isn’t a huge name like Caitlin, you both reach an agreement to keep it on the dl. That and the addition of your evergrowing vlog page. This being said, Kate would appear more in your videos and it’s not really a secret. She shows up in your study videos in the background, helps out with your workout videos, does Q&As with you, and when you're off season she definitely travels with you.
She’s a very caring person and def loves to cuddle after a long day. She also kisses the ground you walk on (You can’t tell me she doesn’t have photo albums of you and her). (Can I also say that she’s a tremendous kisser? TRUST that she will make out with you in a secret room in the stadium because she just can’t wait until you get home after a game). Kate is your personal cheerleader in games and would treat you like a princess after your games (she’s drawing a bath and brushing your hair and basically doing all the work for you while praising you on how well you did).
After a hard loss however it’s a whole different story. You can’t lie tho…It’s your favorite side of Kate. You can see it in her as soon as the buzzer sounds (especially after she scores a lot and still loses oml). Kate basically disappears into the crowd and into the locker room before you can catch her. After a bit of time and unanswered calls and text messages, you decide to walk towards the locker rooms and are surprised when you're tugged into a small storage room. Kate immediately gets to work and smashes her lips with yours and lets her hands wander around you. You just love the way her rosy cheeks look and how sinful her eyes were as she let them shamelessly look you over. Kate isn’t up for any talking tho. Her moves are sloppy and desperate, like she couldn't care less if someone busted you two right then and there. Whenever you try to talk and try to get her to calm down she just goes back and kick starts another makeout sesh.

Classpects
A “Classpect” is a player’s title in Sburb, which uses the formula [Class] of [Aspect]. Not only does a Classpect dictate a player's reality-bending powers, but it defines a player’s place in their session, their place in reality, and their place within the narrative itself.
There are two components that make up a player's Classpect: their aspect and their class. There are 12 aspects and 14 classes in total. Hypothetically, ANY player could be ANY of the 168 total combos of these, no matter the person, but Sburb will narrow down the options and pick a player’s Classpect depending on how it thinks it can BEST use them in the game/their specific session.
A Classpect is chosen via a sort of “sorting hat” method. The person you are (struggles, goals, gaming strategies, how you interact with the world and others, etc.) inadvertently dictates your Classpect, but that is only BEFORE THE GAME STARTS. Once you’ve entered Sburb, Skaia will ultimately decide your role based on everything it gathered, and you are stuck with it whether you like it or not.
[In total: Classpects are a predetermined in-game role to fulfill as well as a narrative tool.]
Aspects
Aspects are described as “the basic building blocks of everything that exists within paradox space”; a cosmic property that relates MOST to a player and that they have the potential to BEST excel at.
A player’s aspect is always something the player starts out STRUGGLING with in some way. No one ever has total control or knowledge of their aspect right off the bat. It is something that challenges the player and must be learned over time so the player can grow and reach their full potential as a Hero of their aspect.
Aspects are a neutral and nuanced concept- no aspect is inherently good nor bad.
The 12 aspects: Breath, Light, Time, Space, Life, Hope, Void, Heart, Blood, Mind, Doom, and Rage.
Breath: The aspect of freedom and detachment. Breath is impossible to hold down, easy breezy, head in the clouds, go with the flow. Breath is breeze, movement, flight, weightlessness, indirection, and independence. Breath blows whatever way it feels like, not caring about much else.
Narrative connection: Plot development.
Breath’s opposing aspect is Blood.
Light: The aspect of knowledge and illumination. Light exposes the hidden, brightens the dark corners, brings things into the spotlight. Light is relevance, illumination, luck, enlightenment, sight, visibility, definition, and attention. Light brings itself to what is hidden in the dark.
Narrative connection: Plot relevance.
Lights opposing aspect is Void.
Time: The aspect of rhythm and destruction. Time is connected to death, the past and future, taking action, small details, the destination over the journey. Time is repetition, iteration, cycles, pace, patterns, preservation, decay, continuity, and management. Time is the steady tick of a clock, the constant rotation of an ever-turning gear.
Narrative connection: Pacing.
Times opposing aspect is Space.
[Time is one of the fundamental fabrics making up paradox space and is therefore an aspect required to win Sburb. If your session does not have a Time player, your session is doomed to fail.]
Space: The aspect of creation and beginnings. Space is new things, focused on the wait-and-see, the big picture, the here-and-now, the journey over the destination. Space is destiny, matter, physics, making, innovation, and intuition. Space is a vast endless infinity of possibility.
Narrative connection: Setting.
Spaces opposing aspect is Time.
[Space is one of the fundamental fabrics making up paradox space and is therefore an aspect required to win Sburb. If your session does not have a Space player, your session is doomed to fail.]
Life: The aspect of agency and autonomy. Life is foraging your own path, own destiny, self-direction, growing and strengthening. Life is nature, health, resilience, energy, progress, healing, vitality, and nourishment. Life sees its route and fights to take it.
Narrative connection: Agency/action.
Life’s opposing aspect is Doom.
Hope: The aspect of belief. Hope is dreams and wishes, blind optimism, unstoppable force, the "there’s always a way, nothings impossible". Hope is faith, possibility, positivity, will, imagination, and determination. Hope is a clear, enthusiastic "YES!".
Narrative connection: Convenience.
Hopes opposing aspect is Rage.
Void: The aspect of nothingness and the unknown. Void is a blank canvas, an empty page, a dark corner, a shadow concealing darkness. Void is secrets, mystery, invisibility, unexplained, ignorance, irrelevance, and uncertainty. Void obscures what the light can't reach.
Narrative connection: Plot irrelevance.
Voids opposing aspect is Light.
Heart: The aspect of feeling and self. Heart is the core of a person, their identity, passions and interests, the soul, feelings instead of thoughts. Heart is motivation, love, emotions, uniqueness, personal, individualism, bias, and passion. Heart follows itself.
Narrative connection: Inner self.
Hearts opposing aspect is Mind.
Blood: The aspect of unity. Blood is down to earth, grounded and chained, has expectations, forms relationships. Blood is community, responsibility, care, effort, stability, obligation, and connection. Blood is running through everyone's veins and knows it.
Narrative connection: Character dynamics.
Blood’s opposing aspect is Breath.
Mind: The aspect of thought. Mind is unbiased decision making, apathy, black and white, blends in with the crowd. Mind is equality, ration, logic, reason, judgement, calculation, choice, balance, and justification. Mind pushes away feelings and thinks instead.
Narrative connection: Outer self.
Minds opposing aspect is Heart.
Doom: The aspect of fate and constraint. Doom works within the rules, within restriction, follows damands. Doom is burdens, prophecy, acceptance, necessity, limitation, punishment, and misfortune. Doom does not negotiate against the inevitable.
Narrative connection: Conflict.
Doom’s opposing aspect is Life.
Rage: The aspect of refusal and rebellion. Rage is the ugly truth, holding back, immovable object, being stuck, “it’s impossible, there’s no way out”. Rage is cynicism, defiance, fury, negativity, anger, riot and revenge. Rage is a loud, guttural “NO!”.
Narrative connection: Contrivance.
Rage’s opposing aspect is Hope.
Classes
Classes are the second ingredient of the Classpect formula. Since an aspect is a cosmic property that relates most to a player, a class is how that player USES/INTERACTS with that cosmic property & its powers. Classes are NOT something a player struggles with and are just dictated by how they approach/play the game.
Classes are a neutral and nuanced concept- no class is a “worse/better” or “evolved” version of another, no class is gender locked, and no class is inherently good nor bad.
There are six functions of classes: creation, destruction, exploitation, manipulation, knowledge, and relocation.
[Creation: Bringing something into existence.
Destruction: Taking something out of existence.
Exploitation: Having something and using it.
Manipulation: Changing or altering something.
Knowledge: Knowing all about something.
Relocation: Stealing and/or moving something.]
The 14 classes: Heir, Seer, Knight, Witch, Maid, Page, Rogue, Prince, Mage, Sylph, Thief, and Bard, and the two master classes: Lord and Muse.
Heir: One who changes with their aspect or is changed through their aspect. Heirs inherit their aspect and can greatly use it for their session and coplayers.
Class function: Manipulation.
Heirs' counterpart class is Witch.
Seer: One who knows their aspect or knows through their aspect. Seers are knowledge-seekers who obtain information by observing, and guide their coplayers using what they learn.
Class function: Knowledge.
Seer's counterpart class is Mage.
Knight: One who fights for/protects their aspect or fights/protects using their aspect. Knights are set on serving and defending their session and coplayers, using their persona as a shield and their aspect as a weapon.
Class function: Exploitation.
Knight's counterpart class is Page.
Witch: One who alters/bends their aspect or alters/bends using their aspect. Witches utilize their powers to bend the rules and test the limits of their aspect and session itself.
Class function: Manipulation.
Witch's counterpart class is Heir.
Maid: One who serves/repairs their aspect or serves/repairs with their aspect. Maids clean, preserve, and maintain their session with/and their aspect, just as a housekeeper would.
Class function: Creation.
Maid's counterpart class is Sylph.
Page: One who strengthens their aspect or finds themselves through their aspect. Pages start out as weaker underdogs, but once their potential is fully realized, they can use their power to an astounding degree.
Class function: Exploitation.
Page's counterpart class is Knight.
Rogue: One who steals their aspect or steals from their aspect to provide others with it. Rouges take from their aspect and redistribute what they steal to their coplayers Robin Hood style.
Class function: Relocation.
Rouge's counterpart class is Thief.
Prince: One who destroys their aspect or destroys with their aspect. Princes are powerful, blunt forces in their session who once fully realized, will stop at nothing until they reach their goal.
Class function: Destruction.
Prince's counterpart class is Bard.
Mage: One who understands their aspect or understands through their aspect. Mages are the experiencers of their aspect that utilize their experience with it to guide themselves.
Class function: Knowledge.
Mage's counterpart class is Seer.
Thief: One who steals their aspect or steals from their aspect to keep themselves. Thieves are focused on taking from their session and others in it, then keeping that power for their own benefit.
Class function: Relocation.
Thief's counterpart class is Rogue.
Sylph: One who heals/mends their aspect or heals/mends using their aspect. Sylphs are vastly supportive to their coplayers through both backstage influence and personal interference.
Class function: Creation.
Sylph's counterpart class is Maid.
Bard: One who allows the destruction of their aspect or invites destruction through their aspect. Bards can be kind of a wildcard for their session, possibly for the best (or the worst).
Class function: Destruction.
Bard's counterpart class is Prince.
Master Classes
Lord: One who rules their aspect or rules using their aspect. Lords are intensely powerful domineers who command their aspect, session, and everything in it to bow down to them.
Lord's counterpart class is Muse.
Muse: One who inspires their aspect or inspires through their aspect. Muses are completely in tune with their aspect and influence their session with it, leading it like a conductor with their baton.
Muse's counterpart class is Lord.

Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to Stats Equalized!
This Month's Fighters...
Davepetasprite^2 vs Stevonnie!
Conditions:
No other restrictions.
Scenario:
Steven and Connie are going on a date fused together as Stevonnie on the beach when Davepeta crashes down to Earth right in front of them. Stevonnie asks if they've alright as they pull them from the crater, but Davepeta brushes it off, casually explaining that they've been at war with the New Galactic Republic ever since some guy named Horn beat up Sollux and now some Skywalker guy blasted them across time and space. This does not make Stevonnie any less concerned, especially as they don't know what any of that means beyond "war" and "blasted across time and space" but the topic gets side tracked when Davepeta points out that their gemstone belly button looks a lot like "that Universe guy" and asks if they've landed in Gem Territory. Stevonnie explains that they kind of are Steven and the two get into comparing and contrasting how Gems snd Sprites fuse. Davepeta ponders out loud which kind of fusion is stronger and challenges Stevonnie to a sparring match.
"Um, didn't you just say you're in a war?"
"B33 < nah, it's chill. the war's nothing purrsonal, i'm sure skyguy will understand if i hold off on kicking his ass fur a bit."
"Every word out of your mouth makes me more concerned...."
Analysis: Davepetasprite^2
Sprites. The mysterious, aloof guides of the Gods. When mortal beings play the video game SBURB to become the gods of a New Universe, the Sprites are assigned as their guides. In order for a session to be successful, Sprites most be fused with physical objects, be that an inanimate toy, a dead creature, or even a living person so that they might have the sentience to guide their assigned Player through their quest.
Davesprite was one such Sprite. Hailing from a doomed timeline where his best friend John died horribly, Davesprite traveled back to prevent this future, becoming his past self's Sprite in the new timeline.
While this did successfully prevent the death of his friend, Davesprite didn't anticipate how this would effect himself. The versions of his friends in this new timeline weren't the same people he knew in his timeline. John was back, but it wasn't his John. His friends didn't even consider him to be the "real Dave" anymore. They had a Dave. And it wasn't him. The timeline didn't need two Daves anymore. He was just leftovers.
He was just a Sprite. A figment of a dead timeline. What use would he be when the story was over?
Dave would unwittingly get his answer after inadvertently fusing with Nepetasprite. The two were merged and reborn again as something new. Part troll, part human, part crow. Reformed not as a leftover Dave or forgotten Nepeta, but as something entirely themselves.
It helps that they're indisputably the most powerful Sprite in Paradox Space. That's a nice boon.
As a fully Prototyped Sprite, Davepetasprite^2 should have all of the boons inherent to their biology. Sprites can become intangible at will, create light constructs like a green lantern ring, fly, and posses a natural nigh-omniscient understanding of SBURB and its function in the greater multiverse... at least, in so far as it would help their assigned Player. Furthermore, as a fully realized Sprite, Davepeta has very little worry of accidentally fusing with something or someone just by touching them for too long.
It helps that their components are absolute juggernauts in their own right. Any version of Dave or Nepeta could be counted among the most skilled fighters Paradox Space has to offer and Davepetasprite^2 has the combined experiences of both of them. Nepeta was a proud hunter who happily battled the beasts of hellplanet Alternia while Davesprite could go toe to toe against 3x Prototyped Jack Noir, who could slaughter entire armies single handed. Both of these fighters could demolish the armies of Derse, but combined together, they gave even Lord English, the destoyer of all Paradox Space, a good fight.
In many ways, Davepetasprite^2 is the ultimate payoff that both Nepeta and Davesprite could ask for. Two characters made irrelevant, tragically left behind by their closest friends after fulfilling their one purpose, reborn again as something new. Something themselves.
Claw claw, meowtherfuckers.
Analysis: Stevonnie
Fusion. The ultimate form of bond between Gems. The physical embodiment of a relationship between two people, coming together to create something entirely new. Literally.
With Gems, this merging is possible only because their bodies are physically made of hard light. As such, a fusion between and human and a gem is impossible. Or was, until Steven Universe came along. As a half gem, half human, Steven was able to create the first gem human fusion in history. A living statement of his close bond between him and his girlfriend Connie. Something entirely new. Stevonnie.
Naturally, Stevonnie has all of Steven's Gem powers combined with Connie's keen tactical mind, creating a skilled and versatile warrior. A hero that the Crystal Gems could be proud of. They wield Steven's nigh indestructible pink shields, which they can materialize at any time, either portably or around their entire body. They've also been known to wield Rose's Sword, an absolute giant of a sword that was specifically designed to cut through Gems with ease.
On top their weapons, Stevonnie has access to all of Steven's powers, including his limited flight, regeneration, mental projection, healing spit, and even life creation. The end result is a devastatingly versatile foe, likely the most powerful and versatile across the entire universe, as Stevonnie's three-fourths human physiology makes them immune to most gem neutralizing weapons.
Both Steven and Connie have been trained by the Cystal Gems, the thousand year old protectors of Earth, and both have fought against the toughest warriors the galaxy has to offer. As Stevonnie, they were able to defeat Jasper, a perfect quartz gem super soldier, while both of their components have teamed up to save the entire planet from the Homeworld Empire on several occasions.
All together, Stevonnie is the best attributes of both their components, making them arguably the greatest hero in the universe. The perfectly embody the compassion, trust, and hope that their relationship is built on. The perfect representation of both Steven and Connie.
Throwdown Breakdown:
This fight is an interesting one. Both characters share quite a few strengths and weaknesses. While both fusions can be undercut and even destroyed if their components aren't seeing eye to eye, the situation here is pretty unlikely to create that internal conflict and neither one of these fighters would willingly press each other's trauma buttons even if they had the means to.
Both should be pretty even in terms of skill. Both fusions are made up of some of the best fighters their universes can offer, to the point where some of their best feats were considered completely impossible. Connie can fight as an equal with and against centuries old Gem warriors, all while swinging around a sword roughly as big as she is, cutting through cars in a single swing. On the other hand, Nepeta is such a skilled fighter and proud hunter that she's completely unaffected by the hellish nightmares that plague troll kind, as for her, it's just reliving proud memories of the hunt. And so on.
On the one hand, I do think Stevonnie is going to be better coordinated tactically. Steven and Connie have been close friends since childhood, going on constant death defying adventures together while Dave and Nepeta are relative strangers brought together by happenstance. However, I would say Davepeta's skill feats as a whole edge out Stevonnie's. Both characters have fought against ancient empire built on Eons of conquest, but whereas the Homeworld Empire has always been a massive threat, Nepeta and her friends curbstomped roughly 90% of Derse with disappointing ease, minus some roadblocks here or there. So really, it all kinda cancels out skill wise, with one team being better together innately while the other is more skilled in general.
Ultimately, this is decided by powers and abilities. In which case, I'd say Davepeta's arsenal counters Stevonnie's.
Intangibility is a perfect counter against Stevonnie's shields, Davepeta has slightly better flight due to it not being just a form of self gravity manipulation like what Steven does, and Nepeta has innate mental resistances the nullify Steven's telepathic powers.
Remember those dreams I mentioned earlier? It's been very heavily implied that these nightmares are either caused by the horrorterrors, or by the purple bloods keepinh Alternia in line. Either way, that's a massive scale of mind control that Nepeta is simply unaffected by, meaning she should be able to just push Steven out of Davepeta's mind if he tries anything.
While this would by no means be an easy fight, especially with Stevonnie's fast acting regeneration, Davepeta's intagibility is a counter that Stevonnie simply has no real answer too. It would be a hard fought fight... but the Sprite beats the Gem this time.
This Month's Winner is...
Davepetasprite^2!

revisiting failstuck part 2
vv Open Pesterlog vv
- - AnachronisticMedic [AM] began pestering ??? - - AM: Part 2. I don’t know how many sections this will be broken into. AM: Next character is Wincar. I spent a lot more time psychoanalyzing him than any other character, so I’d like to think I have a better grasp on his classpect. AM: I classpected him as a Thief of Doom. Let me explain what that means: AM: Thieves are bastards, with a negative connotation. Except for that one old friend of mine who is a Thief of Time and introduced me to Homestuck. Anyways, thieves like to work on their own and for their own benefit, no matter the cost, including at the expense of their teammates. The main challenge of the Thief is learning to work in a way that doesn’t involve impeding the people around them. Most of the time, anyways. They can still do a little trolling as long as it isn’t TOO harmful. AM: The Doom aspect is about rules, fate, and death. AM: However, it’s important to note that this doesn’t automatically mean that every Doom player will be super gloomy and depressed or cynical, though the person writing this and the character they are writing this about are a bit like that. Rot and death make room for new things, after all. AM: Stealing- or at least attempting to steal- fate seems to be a thing with this guy. When he loses the race in LoS, he makes a deal with the Ender Dragon to try to get it. I think the Rapper Failboat Arc could also tie into this but I don’t know how. AM: And finally, lunar sway. He’s Derse, no doubt about it. AM: In this AU, Wincar still cannot escape the possession canon event. At some point he runs into a dragon working for the Horrorterrors, eldritch gods from the Furthest Ring, outside of Skaia’s influence, who want to see the destruction of this Sburb session. He goes grimdark, which essentially does the same thing as being corrupted by the Ender Dragon in LoS, and now his brother and his brother’s friends have to fight him to get him back. Yeah. AM: Wait, there’s one more thing I forgot to mention: each classpect gives some cool abilities once a player reaches god tier. AM: For Failboat, since his class is reallocation, he can move souls around. No I am not joking. Dirk, a Prince of Heart in Homestuck, was nearly able to tear someone’s soul out of their body. And that was just the imagined version of him. AM: Wincar’s classpect is weird. It’s not like he can move people’s suffering around, he has to specifically steal it. Maybe he can use it like mana for attacks? I dunno..
#failboat au#failstuck#not putting this on the main tag since it’ll clog it up#The twins are an active/passive class pair.. Interesting.#^Thief and rogue are canonically paired together as the stealing classes.

could you analyse a sesh with a prince of blood, a knight of heart, a mage of life, a mage of mind, a mage of time, and a witch of hope?
Wuhoh. That's one mentally ill session.
I’ll start with a quick rundown of how the classpects would interact with each other
The prince of blood and witch of hope will be at consant odds, with the prince desprately self sabotaging their relationships and the witch drying desperately to hold everything together. I could see the witch getting especially upset at the prince while trying to self sabotage because the witch is trying so hard to hold everything together and this is the thanks they get? They won't have a fun time.
And all the mages. Oof mages are especially troubled, and will go through a lot throughout the session. The mage of time self isolating out of panic, and sprinkled with a high possibility of someone dying right in front of them or they themself dying.
The mage of life would likely be shoved into a leader role that they can not mentally handle, forced to make decisions they do not have the confidence to make.
The mage of mind would likely succumb to the witch of hope, forcing themself to grit their teeth and get through the session without a complaint. This won't last long, they'll break eventually.
The knight of heart would naturally hide behind themself, likely not knowing how to do anything else. They’d get along with the mind player as they would be going through similar things. I could see them having the closest relationship within the group.
Now, we know a session is not viable without a knight, a time player, and a space player, which we are missing the latter. However, I personally like to subscribe to session fuckery so let’s see how we can make this session alive.
The mage of time would know the session is already doomed, and would try to explain this, likely getting nowhere with the witch. The session would be an absolute mess until the witch of hope sucks up their pride and understands that the session is doomed.
If god tiered, the witch can go absolutely drunk on hope, making a universe tadpole, or at the very least a ghost imprint of one to be created.
The mage of life can bring the tadpole to life, leaving the knight to take care of it. I wouldn’t be surprised of the knight went to the time player for assistance as well.
Once met with the Ultimate Reward, the time player should be able to release the tadpole, making the new universe.
Congratulations, thank you for playing.

H_H hey there... i was wondering if you could explain to me why void is associated with robotics?
H_H i always had an interest, and void was my native aspect.
[]_[] AND, I HAVE SEEN MANY OTHER VOID PLAYERS CORROBORATE!!!!
...zzz...
H_H so anyway... ...zzz... ...i don't know, it just bothers me... how a lot of players seem to thinks it's a myth... or something...
...zzz...
...
[]_[] BUT IT'S JUST NOT! IT'S A REALLY GREAT ADVANTAGE, YOU CAN DO SO MUCH WITH IT, IT'S LIKE THE GREATEST, I BUILT A ROBOT BODY FOR A FRIEND AND THEY WERE ABLE TO POSSESS IT AFTER THEY DIED, AND I THINK MOST VOID PLAYERS CAN! I THINK THE ASPECT GIVES YOU THE TALENT A LITTLE BIT WHILE YOU HAVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
...
...zzz... ...zzz...
H_H i dunno... maybe that's too much, if you don't already know... like, the basics, and stuff...
H_H also I think it might not work, with some players? i heard... trolls, especially the lowbloods, have... ...zzz... ...stronger ghosts, or something? or ghosts, that are different from the ones in dream bubbles...?
H_H but maybe it works still, if you dream your way to them, with the robot body captchalogued... if you bring it to them... ...zzz...
"Void players are good with robotics" isn't a stereotype I know existed. I can't really see why that would be the case, so maybe it's just the caprices of Void being weird and connecting it to some incongruent association.
And yeah, robotics is a really useful skill. Dying can be circumvented through various methods, so "put that ghost in a robot" is a good final measure. And even putting that aside, if you can build a robot body, you can build a robot limb. Getting your arm ripped or blown off is not even that uncommon, it happens to everyone at least once. And while the internet toughguy advice is "power through it and you'll get a new arm in the new session" (unless you've internalized your disability as a fundamental aspect of your character), this ignores the fact that dismemberment is a pretty debilitating status effect.
On Trolls, I think you have it backwards. Lowbloods tend to have "stronger ghosts" because they're more frequently psychic (and tend to be better at using those powers). Not to mention Burgundy Trolls sometimes can outright commune or summon the dead, which DEFINITELY seems like outright magic but is instead considered a "psychic ability". I'd love to hear the science on that. Either way, that they maintain a stronger astral/postmortem presence would make them easier to fit inside the robot, no? And the highbloods, who are frequently bereft of psychic powers, would be unable to maintain that presence. It at least makes sense to me, lowbloods are physically frail but could potentially live after death, highbloods are hard to kill but are hard to roboticize. A sort of trade-off? Or maybe it's a moot point because most robotic back-up bodies incorporate a captchalogued or scanned copy of the brain.
I absolutely don't think you can robot-body a Dream Ghost though. "Dream Ghost" is a colloquial expression, they're more... Something else. A memory of a person that sometimes becomes an actual person. Even if you could get them to fit inside (I think they're "physical", but made of different stuff), they're not longer recognized as Players, and are thus Doomed. The only workaround for that would be capturing a Dream Ghost native to the Session you're currently in, which would require bringing a robot body into your own dreams (impossible) or making a Ring Journey (dire cost), locating a Dream Bubble (good luck) that specifically contains your target native player (statistically improbable), and then dragging them back into your own Session (good luck).

I saw you mentioned kujou sara on your hope player post, would you mind elaborating on your reasoning behind her being a hope player? Im not judging i promise I’m just a curious Sara fan lol
Of course! I'm more than happy to elaborate~
Kujou Sara: The Heir of Hope
Heir:
One who is influenced by their aspect
Alternatively, one who inherits their aspect or one who becomes their aspect
Hope:
Abstract: Conviction, Imagination, Fantasy, Delusion, Actual Hope
Literal: Light, Wings, Feathers, Religion
Hope is the aspect of ideals and conviction; driven by what they think is right and deliver justice to what they consider is wrong:
Kujou Sara is no different. The Lady Tengu has earned the title 'Devotee of the Divine' for her loyalty to her Archon Ei. She is known by many people of this characteristic of hers.
She had even abandoned her ties with her fellow youkai in order to serve the mortals of the shougun's land, as said by Dainslief
There's a comment Kokomi makes on her faithfulness to the Shogun, commending how she can uphold it no matter what her god demands of their people, and perfectly summarizes her classpect:
The context of this opinion comes during the middle of a civil war between the rebels lead by Kokomi and the Shogun's forces led by Kujou Sara. The battle has arisen from a decree in which all citizens of Inazuma must give up their visions, either voluntarily or by force.
Most, if not all, were discontent with the Vision Hunt Decree and opposed it, unlike the Tengu General who in fact upheld it. She believed that the manifestation of her ambitions was not hers, but Ei's and would gladly return it to her if asked of her.
Sara held the belief that the Shogun had the right to withdraw everyone of their visions, including hers, and so she became the head of the Vision Hunt Decree.
So how can a woman who isn't a mortal come to adore the Shogun so much?
According to Sara's vision story, the Tengu fell from a height that should've killed her. Yet the next morning, she was found relatively unscathed. The only thing that could explain the anomaly was the glowing vision in her hand.
There is a common misconception that the Archons are the ones who hand out visions, and that prenotion is the foundation of Sara's beliefs.
She believed to be favored by the Electro Archon herself and was rewarded a vision and thus saving her life. And for saving her life, Kujou Sara devotes it to the Shogun.
Which segways nicely into her class: The Heir
Heirs, like Witches, are a part of the Magician class, but instead of influencing their aspect as they like, Heirs are influenced by it.
They're natural born leaders, often being the driving force of their teams that propel them towards their goals.
Egbert is one such Heir. The first character you meet in the webcomic and the leader of his friends' SBURB session. This Breath-bound was able to direct the rest of the Beta kids on what to do during the early part of the game. He was also the first to ascend to godtier, a massive step in SBURB's progression.
The most important instance though, happens after the events of Game Over. John, under Terezi's instruction, is sent to F1X the timeline with his retocon powers so it doesn't lead to the utter oblivion of everyone and their session.
In other words, Egbert can influence the direction of the timeline.
However, when an Heir's aspect comes to them naturally, they mustn't let it consume them.
Heir of Doom Mituna Captor once was a powerful psiioniic that had the ability to foretell disasters, which could've been used to guide his SGRUB team away from trouble. Despite its usefulness though, no one would belive him, causing things to take a turn for the worst for the goldblood:
With no one taking into consideration his warnings, Mituna was left to himself before his mind is consumed by his visions: Burning himself out to protect his teammates from an unknown threat, becoming doomed. That final act of heroism rendered him powerless and brain-damaged.
Then there's Heir of Void Equius Zahaak. He had very little in terms of screen time. Void is the aspect of isolation and the b100 b100d and usually kept to himself in the start of Hivebent. He has strength that surpasses most of the beta trolls to the point where he can bruise anyone with the gentlest of touches from him, making him unable to even touch another troll.
Though he was able to overcome the loneliness with his moirail Nepeta, Equius wasn't able to save himself from succumbing to irrelevance and obscurity; Being killed by Gamzee and his identity being overwritten by AR, effectively erasing Equius from the story
To tie this all in with Kujou Sara... yes, she is described as a charismatic and natural-born leader as well as often being what inspires her troops to keep on fighting, a symbol of hope. Just as an Archon's power is proportional to their people's belief in them, Sara's belief in hers empowers her.
Sara's sense of right and wrong matches those of the Shogun, inheriting her morals and making them her own. It feels almost as if she embodies her will.
She is willing to fight and take down those who don't obey the Shogun, even going as far to wage war with Watatsumi Island. But Sara would do anything for her god if it meant that she was doing the right thing.
Like before, it's admirable that her loyalty knows no bounds, but she's is so consumed in the shogun that it harms the people that she is supposed to protect. Gorou, a general on the other side of the war, and Kazuha both comment on this characteristic of hers. Her devotion to the Electro Archon is the driving factor as to why she went along with the Vision Hunt Decree despite it being unpopular to Inazuma's citizens. Rather than listenting to the Shogun to demonstrate her allegiance to Inazuma, she should've listened to its people as the Vision Hunt Decree has caused some to loose their drive to live.
Not only is this loyalty detrimental to others, but also to herself as for most her life she put the shogun before her own personal desires:
After the Hunt, however, Sara starts to break out of the mindset she has and starts to think for herself. Her first act of her individuality is to apologize to those she has hurt during its reign.
As Heir of Hope, Kujou Sara has already shown to be a great commander for her army, so much so that I would consider her to be Inazuma's leader if it weren't for Ei's puppet.
An Heir of Hope is powered by belief. If this lady Tengu were to place more of her devotion into the people she swore to protect, then perhaps she could ascend from being a major figure head of the Kujou clan to one that would reflect Inazuma’s image.

So I apologize if this isn't what you usually do but could you explain your take on a Page of Doom please, if that's not what you do can I just ask you Classpect Ragatha from The Amazing Digital Circus please
you know what, i can do both!
ragatha's classpect here!
my take on a page of doom under the cut!
y'know, it's really funny you included these in the same ask- one of my first requests was someone asking for page of doom pomni!
in my personal interpretation, a page isn't someone who "starts weak and grows strong"; i feel like a slightly more nuanced definition would be along the lines of, a character who starts undirected and full of potential, and later gains control over and direction with their powers. this can be seen with jake- his hope powers before the session begins/before the Fuckening happens are definitely present, he just doesn't quite know how to use them with intention yet. he accidentally manifests brain ghost dirk, and he manipulates his desired outcomes into being, through his conversation with jane and dirk. it isn't until after trickster mode happens that he begins to gain an understanding of intentional use of his hope, and aranea healing his emotional problems (caused by understanding the damage he caused) allows him to begin using his powers with intention.
doom is the aspect of inevitability, of the destined-to-be. obviously death is doom's largest domain, but doom also covers other swaths of territory; doomed sessions are the majority of sessions SBURB produces, regardless of whether they are null, void, or dead. doomed timelines are also very common; someone fucked up and deviated from the path, so there is no other way forward but backwards. a doom player mindful of these facts will manipulate the definition of doom; if x, y, and z must happen, we can use them to produce a, b, and c, benefiting our session in exchange.
a page of doom would likely not be fully aware of their abilities from square one. without knowledge of doom or how to use it, they would remain completely in the dark about their fate. they may subconsciously use doom to get what they want, unintentionally invoking the power of inevitability to convince others to do what they want because "it'll happen regardless". as the page awakens, they might begin seeing the rules and laws outlining their life; seeing these rules would allow the page to find ways to bend them. a page of doom may work closely with their session's time player to avoid botching their session as well as unnecessary casualties. a fully awakened page of doom would have a mastery over death; able to harness doom, condemning their enemies to brutal or terrible fates. a page of doom may also be required to make a sacrifice for their team, ultimately winning the game and preventing the timeline from slipping into doom.
hope you enjoyed! this is my first time writing one of these- i might do more if people suggest them!

okay so it seems like some of you are interested in the AU I mentioned about in that one post, so here, to all of you, the introduction to that said crossover AU, MidnightStuck! This AU is a crossover between Midnight Horror School and Homestuck. A little cringe, I know, but I am so free about it.
I’ve even wrote a whole Google Document related to it for all of those who are interested! I know some of you are probably not fully aware of Homestuck or it’s story BUT I have some stuff somewhat explained within the document if you need some clarification!
Underneath the cut and underneath the Google Document includes a slightly shorten version of the plot for the AU if you wanna read it before entering into the document! (I’ve done this to not make the post too long for anyone reading)
THE PLOT
The plot is basically where the students within MHS all get together to play SBURB, which of course, starts off very rocky as things start going absolutely catastrophic with their world and school being nearly destroyed. They all were able to save their school and some parts of the school’s yard in time and enter the Medium. So? For those who are aware of Homestuck and SBURB, how would this work with everyone using the same place to play SBURB and build up to their gates to enter their respective world? Well, they actually all work together to build up to get to their gates, the gates for each player is actually one giant gate! They each get teleported to their worlds when they enter through the gate instead of having two players get sent to the same world!
The first SBURB session was started up by Liddy and Hikky, the second SBURB session was started up by Juno and Rosso, and the third SBURB session was started up by Ampoo and Watt. But here’s a problem with Ampoo and Watt’s session, none of them were assigned as a Space player, Watt was lucky enough to be assigned as a Knight of Doom since the player who was assigned the Space aspect needs a Knight player to help give life to the Genesis Frog to start up their new universe/world. However, Ampoo was not assigned with the Space aspect but instead got assigned as a Heir of Light, so without a Space player in their session, the third SBURB session started decaying, making it a void session. Before the session started destroying itself, Watt and Ampoo were lucky enough to be sent into one of the other two sessions but the both of them couldn’t go into the same session otherwise it would be extremely off-balanced for everyone. Watt was sent into Session One and Ampoo was sent into Session Two.
Towards the halfway point of both sessions, the two sessions are allowed to combine into one big session together to take down the huge main quests in general and to create a better yet bigger new universe together.

how gameplay loops keep you playing
youtube
after watching this video I kind of understand how and why some games have people hooked in the video it explains how lots of games have a core loop and how that usually makes up the bulk of the gameplay which are called core loops this can be like clearing rooms in doom or the movement and platforming in Mario this is a very important part of the game as it what the other part of the game is tied to which is gameplay loops this could be things like upgrades in a rouge like that makes every run different so it doesn't get repetitive or levels in Mario which all are design to be a different challenge to keep the player engaged with the game
but also some games can have a much longer and more meta game gameplay loop such as a total war game where you are building up an army and spending half your play session preparing for the core gameplay loop which is the big and flashy battles or in a RPG where you are building up your characters levels and progressing the story to go beat a boss
overall gameplay loops come in a variety of ways and identifying what you want your main part of your play session for your player to look like is key to making a well paced game

Doing this for the rest of the famous lists you suggested because it's autism touy sorting time!! Hell yeah!!
Four Humors
Fitting them into the four humors was kinda tough and I don't think it really fits tbh.
Grian is Blood/Sanguine/Happy/Spring/Wet
Scott is Phelgm/Phelgmatic/Calm and Reserved/Winter/Cold
Pearl is Black Bile/Melancholic/Sad/Autumn/Dry
Martyn is Yellow Bile/Choleric/Angry/Summer/Hot
Alternatively, perhaps you could make a case for Grian being Melancholic, which lets Martyn be Sanguine and Pearl Choleric. The issue I had really was with the sad one, no one's really sad in this series they're all just bloodthirsty.
Also the humors are associated with seasons so that's another way to sort them. I'm not really happy with how they're associated with the humors tbh, so an alternate sorting:
Four Seasons
Grian: Summer (bright, happy, plentiful, in control)
Scott: Spring (flower husbands. Thats it.)
Pearl: Autumn (the beginning of the end. She was doomed from the start)
Martyn: Winter (cold and unyielding, but it's his ruthlessness that got him the win)
Five Stages of Grief
Grian: He gets Denial :) I don't know how to explain it but like it works? It works right? Right.
Scott: Ugh Bargaining fits so well with the way he keeps arguing for more advantages for himself, arguing against the way things are supposed to be... But it didn't fit so he gets Acceptance. Scott deals with his fate the best imo.
Pearl: Anger. She is THE queen of coping with her grief with anger, so she goes there
Martyn: Now Martyn actually get Bargaining. It works for me cause of the whole lying and negociating for advantage. Yeah.
Scar: I really wanted to give him Denial but it just didn't fit in with the others. Acceptance would have been good too but he gets Depression. A denially accepting kind of depression. He's so aloooooone :)
Six Quarks In The Standard Model Of Particle Physics Idk
The six "flavors" of quarks are up, down, strange, charm, top, and bottom. What kind of names are those what kind of sorting system is that OP thats just atrocious these are just names these aren't personality or character archetypes in the slightest. Anyways I will play with the hand I've been given as usual.
Up: the lightest of the quarks, also one of the most stable and therefore common. Putting Grian as this because. He jumps around lots. Hollow bones? I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING
Charm: It uhhhh. Fuck i don't know it is decayed from the higgs boson i guess, which indicates? Adaptability? HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DO THIS❗❗It reminds me of Scott I guess. Scott's kind of a charmer.
Top/Truth: This one's massive! It lives an extremely short life! I guess Cleo could work since there's the whole "Real life only lasted one session" thing, but I want to put Pearl as this? Like for me, she's not a survivor. For all of double life she played fast and loose with her hearts and her life. So, top quark be upon ye.
Strange: ...Martyn? He's a strange guy? Guys i really don't know what I'm doing. Help.
Bottom/Beauty: Well the bottom one doesn't decay as much into lower mass quarks i fucking guess. So that means a character with strict adherence to rules and uh... Yeah they don't change? So uh. Scar I guess. He doesn't listen to shit but he is pretty consistent in it. This is terrible. Also this one's a product in most top quarks decays apparently, so bond.
Down: second lightest, very stable and used everywhere as well. That's Cleo because ive entirely run out of ideas sorry Cleo you get the basic one.
Can't wait until season 118 of the life series where I'll get to assign every player a spot on the periodic table. Scar's Fluor btw.
Okay fuck you I'm making this primary colors instead. Using the three main ones and the artist ones too.
Six Primary Colors
Grian: yellow. He never left the desert...
Scott: cyan. Hair!
Pearl: red. Self explanatory honestly if you dont get this i cant help you
Martyn: blue. He was the only one who really fit it okay. Also ocean color?
Scar: magenta. Uhhh hes a purple ass guy. Lilacs. Idk.
Cleo: green. because zomboid....
not that i have a problem with the winners=celestial bodies/tarot cards interpretations BUT consider: we just keep changing the categories based on the number of winners to whatever famous list of things best corresponds to the current number
so something like:
2 winners: day and night
3 winners: sun moon and stars
4: humors/temperaments
5: stages of grief
6: uhh types of quarks in the standard model of particle physics idk
7: deadly sins
8: planets in the solar system
9: circles of hell
etc. etc. and so on see we don’t have to stick to one thing if grian can change the gimmick every season so can we
#saying this affectionately op but really. fucking quarks. what the hell am i supposed to be doing with these.#klm-zoflorr

game loops
youtube
this video explains how a lot of games fall into the trap of being too repetitive where the game is just not worth playing anymore. he instead gives an example of a game called Hades, where the gameplay is actually different, as you start with nothing, and slowly progress to get stronger and fight different enemies to get out of Hell.
Game loops can be found in almost every category of games ranging from FPS to road likes, these game loops can last as long as they want with some lasting just a few seconds. A prime example being the DOOM franchise, where you kill enemies in a room, go into another and the cycle repeats with harder enemies, these direct loops are called core loops.
Seen in Mario, where jumping on blocks to progress has an approach, an execution, and an ending is a core loop. and as this is what you'll be doing a lot of the time playing Mario, the developers make sure something as simple as just walking around is fun enough to keep doing over and over again.
For more longer game/core loops, such as conquest, you might be able to get through maybe one or two game loops per session, however, the developers know how to make the gameplay fun, no matter how long it may take the player to complete the core loop.
this can lead to the issue of a game relying on too many short gameplay loops can eventually make the player bored, whereas long gameplay loops, which obviously take longer to complete, feel more accomplishing to complete as you're putting more time and effort into getting to the end, but this may also lead to a lack of motivation to play as it can take too long.
So many games try use usually more shorter to medium length game loops, such as Far cry, which use points of interest like towers or treasure for the players to capture, these serve as an anchor point for players to do other things rather than travel directly to another main story mission, which can make it hard for players to get into a consistent gameplay motion.
many games use currency/rewards as a game loop, for example the grand theft auto series, you will never really have enough money to buy every car you want, which will ultimately lead you to redoing missions or working for more money to afford the next car.

Marble hornets!stuck thoughts bc its that time of night again and talking into the void of shit nobody cares abt is my thing and bc this has been brewing in my head for half a year now i think? Some of these are disconnected thoughts and concepts that dont work together
their session is a horribly glitched out seemingly void session where the white queen and black queen were not separate entities (may also include black king and white king idk!) (this is the operator)
This entity is also their first guardian. Lord english esque in how it perpetuates its own creation (yknow how arasol found the code for sgrub. I think it does smth similar w tapes or some other method. Arg to find your sburb disc loser) and in how it seems almost to have always been present in the life of tim (you know) and alex (birthday video)
Possibility: Alex discovered the sburb code or whatever the mechanism was and tried to hide it thinking it would prevent the apocalypse from happening. It doesnt and never would have. Jay finds them i think (maybe for a while alex blames jay for the apocalypse bc he couldnt keep his goddamn nose out of it)
as an amalgam of four game constructs (WQ BQ BK WK) it is considered the exile of the main four (alex, brian, tim, and jay) and indirectly fucks them via “commands” on the computer terminal. Tims pills run interference for whatever reason.
Brian (as hoodie) eventually gains access to his terminal and occasionally through “hacking”, the terminals of the other four guys. TTA brainblasts you w audio visual hallucinations sometimes
Jessica, seth, amy, and sarah have “normal” exiles. Thank god
Heres a fucked up thought: tim and alex have opposing views on initiating the scratch. Who is on what side probably requires a more nuanced understanding of their characters than what i have but heres an attempt to pick a side for each and figure out reasoning:
So first of all neither character has a perfect understanding of what the scratch truly is or how it works. They do not have a doc scratch or trolls to yell at them for universe cancer so there is no real way for them to have a full picture of the implications of doing this.
alex is actually for NOT initiating the scratchz his reaction to finding out they “caused” the end of the world (or more accurately were harbingers of that end) is “we all deserve to die.”, heavily rooted in christian/cartholic (i am tired sorry for conflating the two) guilt for what i hope are Obvious Reasons and the whole “you need to kill everyone and then yourself” thing. Additionally does not believe the scratch will destroy the operator (he is right) so trapping it in this dead universe is the best they can do in his eyes (he can not actually hope to trap it). Sees them all as infected by it but ESPECIALLY Tim as “the source” (why? I dont know. I think it favored him as a doom player. Tim being a doom player also makes him the most literally representation of everything alex hates and resents about the situation).
Tim is for initiating the scratch. He believes that the scratch will wipe out the operator for good (it wont). I had mlre thoughts on this but i got sjdetracked sorry
Jessica survives the scratch somehow
Maybe she is hidden away by tim before the scratch starts, maybe he even is able to hide with her from it? Would imply tim knows the scratch is surviveable and thus the operator could escape from it but would also reflect how his self preservation kind of outweighs any desire to be a martyr unlike alex. Tim Will Survive a la final girl? I had better ways of expressing this thought but i lost it. If you look at this and say “you dont know what youre talking about” you are so correct
Either way, due to tims planning or a glitch in their already buggy session, she falls through the fabric of spacetime and into the new universe but loses all her memories/has a fuzzy recollection.
If tim does survive this could explain how she is able to be situated in a universe where she should not exist (he got everything arranged the way sburb guardians (non first ones) would)
This is how marble hornets comic happens and that cast would get involved
Have you considered skully sprite for your troubles. Yes? Okay i dont have a more developed thought than that i spedread the comics from excitement and did. Not internalize the meaningful stuff bc im small brained
….i just rmbrd the ^2sprites and. Thinking sbt that in relation to skullysprite is… yeah id be wanting to fix the broken too if i was an amalgam of several dead bodies shoved into a sprite in this timeline (maybe)
Obviously real skuly is more than that but i dont fully understand them so. Ack
Anyway this sessions FOR SURE players are jessica, taylor, adam (who i ALWAYS tag as seth bc i dont have a BRAIN) and david (and skully! In a way)
Adam kills david during the session. I know it in my heart. Bastard >:(
I cant think of anything else good night

>The only way you can make a thing that happened, not happen, is if you're suggesting that you're in a Doomed Timeline and will go back in time to prevent your Alpha Timeself from being attributed Quartz. Which, putting aside that there's little to no way you could influence Title Attribution (it happens pre-Entry, and time travel is locked to Entry)
---
I don't think that's necessarily right. First of all, it doesn't matter if it happens pre-entry, because the pre-entry assignment could still know the future (I think). Second of all, it's NOT a thing that's happened.
Or at least, it wouldn't have been. But it is actually, because I went to use my quest bed and it didn't... work. (The bed got destroyed. I arrived to rubble. I didn't even know they could be broken...? Not sure what the fuck happened to it, but I'm not going to bother looking for the slab, got a sneaking suspicion that it'll be much the same.) So my plan is bunk.
I can't stress to you enough how much my plan would not have involved time travel. But whatever, irrelevant, I know this is basically impossible to understand.
To anyone else who rolls Quartz some day, my task for you is this: Figure out how to explain our new understanding of not-Time (and other Quartz-concepts) to people who've not gotten Quartz before. I *think* it's comprehensible without needing to have rolled Quartz yourself, but I feel like I don't have the vocabulary for it or something.
Experientiality? Positionality? Individualism? The only one Quartz cares about directly is the first one, but it's colored by the other two as well. The platonic ideal of yourself? No, probably not, but I do think I understand what the folks who babble about "ultimate selves" are talking about a little better now.
If something was *experienced* then it must have *happened*, non-hallucinatorily (maybe?), to something capable of *having experiences* (not sure how to define that). Through Quartz, or other methods such as duplicloning, multiple beings may have experienced the same thing. But in the case of dupliclones, after the split, they can no longer be the same person, because this contradicts, at the very least, positionality (uh, the way I'm using the word, anyway... I mean it in relation to LITERAL position). The reason Rain players get confused is because it DOESN'T (I think) contradict instantiation (continuity of consciousness (not really, but that's close)).
(Wait fuck isn't this all just what Heart was supposed to be about? I've played Heart before, it wasn't like this.)
Quartz allows one to know all of this as a matter of course. And it's instantiation that's the real bugger. If I've not been instantiated, then this would have all been hallucinatory (uh... for a certain measure of the word). That may seem like it calls causality into question, but I think it avoids it by not interacting directly with it at all.
Whatever, point is: If the game DOES check if a ghost WOULD inhabit a dream bubble, and DOES avoid assigning Quartz if someone would (and yes, I know that's unlikely because since when does the game care about redundancy, it would just be really convenient if it *did* work that way) then by being the kind of person who would have had a ghost in the session, you can ensure that you never get assigned Quartz. This is not Time travel, it is merely the game's measurement of a non-instantiated version of yourself's hypothesized counterfactual existence.
Okay, I think I managed to write all that at least close to correctly, and not get my thoughts twisted around too much. Or at least I'm so sick of this that I don't care if there's errors anymore.
Anyway. I'm off to the mirror.
Pre-Entry Title Assignment is precognitive, but what I'm saying is that there would be no way to influence it Post-Entry. Like the "original Vagabouncy" or the tinfoil hat trick. Once you've entered the Medium, the Hall of Mirrors is basically the only way of changing your Title.
And I think I'm vaguely understanding what you mean? Basically, when multiple Timelines are created, multiple versions of yourself are created, experiencing their own distinct existences. There is a "true self", the one in the Alpha Timeline, and the Doomed Timeselves can convey those experiences to the Alpha Timeline, usually in order to avoid disaster. But they can't assimilate back, becoming their Alpha Selves. So they become different people, essentially. Look at this rough illustration. One "true self", and different branching paths, some of which terminate by themselves, some of which meet back with the Alpha Timeline, but unable to become a part of it (eventually terminating without assimilating). Multiple distinct iterations, only one is given priority.
Meanwhile with Rain, there is no distinction between a "true self". They're all distinct and the same, simultaneously. If a Time Clone dies, that distinct iteration ends. If the "Alpha Self" dies, then all possibilities would terminate, as they are derivative of the Alpha. Meanwhile Rain Clones don't have a distinct sense of being "true", but share a continuity. They're all "true", and if one dies, then their consciousness rejoins the same continuity, eventually. I imagine a lot of the Rain Player Insanity is because the brain was never meant to handle being five guys at the same time. In truth, "Clone" is a misnomer. No distinction is made between "original" and "derivative".
(yes, that's supposed to be "penis" in cursive. A Rain Clone devoting their entire existence to some goofy antic is entirely in-character for Rain.)
Meanwhile with Quartz, would it be fair to illustrate their continuity of self like this?
Here, there is one distinct "true self", a prioritized central continuity represented by the center line, like Time (and unlike Rain). However, like Rain (and unlike Time), the derivative experiences eventually assimilate back to the true continuity, becoming "the same". Where Quartz is distinct is that these derivative experiences are not "physical", they're more metaphysical. Rain Clones do mitosis and split into two or five different instances of the same dude. Time Clones are theoretically being made *every second*, because each decision made creates an infinite number of alternate timelines, but you only become aware of a Time Clone when they become relevant, i.e. when they travel out of their Doomed Timeline and into yours. Meanwhile, Quartz does not do or experience "clones". Instead, take those infinite derivatives born from every action. Quartz "scans" for the most advantageous derivative, and absorbs it, allowing you to embody a perfected self that avoids the mistakes of their "inferior selves" while learning from their "superior selves", becoming an "Ultimate Self" as you put it. Or in other words, Quartz doesn't created Doomed Timelines and maintain an Alpha Timeline like Time does. Quartz eats Doomed Timelines to ensure the existence of an Alpha Timeline.
(EXAMPLE: There is an obstacle course. A Time Player is about to try it, when their Future Self steps in, informing them of the fastest routes and pitfalls to avoid. The Future Self vanishes, and the Time Player completes the obstacle course. They then go back in time, informing their Past Self of the same information. A Quartz Player, meanwhile, would experience different versions of themselves either falling into traps, taking the wrong path, finding shortcuts, etc. The Quartz player would then replicate the ideal experiences while avoiding the experiences that harm them.)
(EXAMPLE: There is a shiny red button in a hidden laboratory. A Time Player is about to press it, when they look to the side and see their own irradiated corpse. The Time Player infers that it would be a bad idea to press the button. The Quartz Player is about to press it when they experience themselves and all of their friends dying to atomic hellfire. The Quartz Player infers that it would be a bad idea to press the button.)
This would fit Quartz' apparent domain of repetition and memories. Quartz Players experiencing perpetual deja vu because they're drawing upon experiences of versions of themselves that don't exist. I imagine a Quartz Player might even get their own version of how in Dark Souls you can see the ghosts and bloodstains of other players, which is useful when they're walking down a hall and see a bloodstain or a ghost dying next to the kindly old crone who spends one minute laughing at the end of every sentence.
The main complications I'm seeing in your hypothesis are twofold. One, Quest Beds are indeed indestructible. So them crumbling in any circumstance should be signposting for "your entire session is fucked and you are about to die". Red Miles type stuff. Two, I think your Dream Bubble theory is completely off-base. There is no "kind" of person who does or does not produce a Dream Ghost. Anyone can and everyone does. I think it's more likely that Quartz simply assimilates derivative iterations of oneself, and thus it's incompatible with mechanic that would produce a derivative iteration. Rain isn't derivative, because they're all "true". Time does produce derivatives, because there's only one "truth". Similarly, let's just say that Dream Ghosts are a lot like Time Clones. This does raise the question of if anyone in your Session is producing Dream Ghosts, or if you're temporarily cut off from it, but considering that this is extremely perilous and borderline impossible to check safely, let's ignore that for now.
I think we've learned a lot about Quartz. Get to the Hall of Mirrors. You've provided enough information for now.
