takes on the void aspect?
Void is about nothingness. Secrets, hiding things, staying quiet, sneaking around. Void is like the back side of a webpage. It’s like when you look at the html code and see what’s going on under the hood. Except um… there’s nothing. It’s kind of like space if there was complete absence everywhere. I just watched part of a video about visualizing the fourth dimension and I think it’s actually JUST like that. I started thinking of 4D as like if two 2D planes intersected and it looked and seemed impossible from both planes pov. And I was like what if I took my hands (3D planes) and phased them through each other. It would be impossible but theoretically that would be the 4th dimension. It’s supposed to be similar to “inside” 3D but not exactly the same bc 3D already has inside. It’s like turning a sphere inside out without cutting it open. It like folds in over itself which seems impossible to us in the 3D world but is totally normal in 4D.
Void players don’t mind the confusing nature of all that shit I just said; in fact, they embrace the meaningless and unimportant and the hard to understand. A void player might be interested in useless information that other people overlook, like the way I pick up interesting pieces of plastic and scraps of writing on the street like it’s treasure. Void players appreciate the unappreciated. They notice the overlooked. They’re very interesting people, but you wouldn’t think it because they’re so unassuming and quiet. (Looks at canon void players) ok….. they can be quite in your face obnoxious about their meaningless bullshit. People are different.
The point is, the people who share this aspect are really good at knowing the unknowable and caring about the uncaringable. Very interesting aspect. I like it.

On the subject of Equius Zahhak: hypersexuality and patriarchy.
It's been a hot minute since I promised to write something like this, and I've been meaning to test a new writing style for these big posts anyways - so I'm going to try my hand at explaining my personal interpretation of Equius Zahhak.
Equius is one of my favourite side characters in Homestuck, and though the individual components of his characterisation are intentionally facetious and humourous, all of these components then come together to form a fantastic and deeply layered commentary, however unintentional.
Let's begin with the basics: our introduction to Equius proper.
The narrative makes it clear from the start how you're meant to feel about this guy for starters - he's a creep and a weirdo. Nepeta says as much in their very first interaction on-screen:
Tumblr media
This is backed up by the narrator themselves exhibiting a discomfort with him, painting him as a cryptic and eerily observant loner:
Tumblr media
Once again, he's making people uncomfortable. Discomfort is going to be a very common theme going forward, particularly once we tap into Equius' personal interests and the justification behind them.
The next sign is when we first see him properly on-screen, and the narrator is immediately mortified by the state of his room and advises us to move on with the story.
Tumblr media
So, immediately, any cognizant reader knows what's up. This guy is a joke character. A punchline, a fool, a weird asshole with no redeeming qualities. This is, of course, the intended reaction.
...Which then brings us to the subversions involved with Equius' character. Every single off-putting and strange thing about him is subsequently repainted in a more flattering light by the conclusion of his screen-time.
What begins as an overcontrolling, possessive demeanour towards Nepeta becomes a genuine, albeit perhaps overbearing desire to protect his moirail from harm. The context of him being Vriska's neighbour helps us infer that he's very, very aware of the dangers of FLARPing.
Tumblr media
What starts as a bizarre and testosterone-poisoned obsession with strength becomes more of a fleshed-out character flaw. It's an inherent fault that Equius cannot control that brings him more distress than anything else. We'll delve into that later.
Tumblr media
This is not, of course, to say that Equius is without genuine fault. You are still meant to find problems with his behaviour, of course you are; the Aradiabot fiasco is an intentional violation of personal agency based around an unhealthy obsession. He allows himself and his moirail to die because of his refusal to disobey the vapid and classist hemospectrum.
Okay, so why is he like this?
I'm glad you've asked. This is where this delves more into conjecture, based around a few different things.
The state of the internet and online culture at the time of Equius' inception; and the ramifications therein.
What we know to be true about the aspect of Void, and how Equius interacts with it.
The added retroactive context of Hussie's handling of queer topics (as a non-binary person themselves!), particularly on the subject of gender identity.
Let's start with point one.
Equius and hypersexuality.
At the time of Homestuck's inception, it was a veritable fact that the internet was overrun with overt sexuality, oft for the sake of shock value as opposed to arousal. Screamers and shock sites like 2girls1cup, goatse, Mr. Hands... (that last one is particularly relevant).
I cite Mr. Hands in particular because therein we get to the use of bestiality as a gross-out punchline. This is what Hussie's invoking with Equius; you're looking at this guy and seeing a gross freak who hangs horse porn on his walls. It's appealing to the fact that:
Homosexuality was considered a funny punchline.
The furry fandom was considered a funny puchline.
Bestiality was considered a funny punchline.
And so, this thirteen year old child hanging gay horse porn on his walls is meant to be played for laughs.
But with the retroactive lens we're looking at this through now? It's not only deeply disturbing for reasons I don't think I need to explain, but it's also a portrait of unhealthy teenage sexuality and the ramifications of exposure to explicit content at a young age.
Because it's a veritable fact that Equius does not understand boundaries and has a deeply flawed relationship with his sexuality. It's the kind of hypersexuality induced by childhood exposure to sexual material, and I would go as far as to call it a kind of CSE.
Tumblr media
Need more proof of this? Dave Strider. Bro's weird sex puppets and usage of pornography as a punchline undeniably fucked Dave up, and explains the way he so regularly uses sex, particularly gay sex as a source of humour. Dave is the same problem that Equius rises, played seriously at a point in the story wherein these things are no longer treated so facetiously.
Tumblr media
Furthermore, it becomes clear that Equius does not actually understand what he is consuming and emulating. Pornography isn't pornography to him, it's fine art. He's uncomfortable and unhappy with his sexuality because he lacks a label for it and doesn't know what it is he's feeling. This is tied to his Aspect of Void; but more on that in just a second.
Tumblr media
This is uncomfortable. It is meant to be uncomfortable.
Equius' toying with casteplay and power dynamics is a clear representation of this frayed relationship - and it also segues into our point about his lack of self-worth.
Equius, the Heir of Void.
The Void Aspect. The Aspect of irrelevance, secrecy, ignorance, simplicity and absence, amongst other things.
The Heir Class. The Class that indicates an overabundance of the player's Aspect that overwhelms them and embodies them.
Equius is he who inherits, becomes and is consumed by emptiness. Because Equius Zahhak does not have a sense of selfhood or self-worth. The inference brought about by his title as the Heir of Void is that Equius is overwhelmed by nothingness.
Combine this with his Dersite status and the consensus on Lunar Sway (Prospit indicating externalisation, Derse indicating internalisation) and you get a very clear image of how Equius' title translates.
An overwhelming, consuming sense of internalised absence and nothingness. This is where Equius' hemospectrum adherence comes in! It's a cover up to compensate for his purposelessness and lack of meaningful identity. He sees himself as being deficient in anything real or of substance, and so adheres to the system placed before him because it is the only thing he feels he understands.
Once again, this is uncomfortable and a real phenomenon amongst teen boys. We see it with Eridan, too; young and confused teenagers with no sense of purpose falling into harmful and bigoted pipelines because they have no sense of direction otherwise.
(In a roundabout sense this explains Tavros' role as well; The Page indicates a deficit in their Aspect throughout the session and so the trolls lacking Breath in the form of directionlessness fits fairly well).
It's almost like watching a young boy fall into the alt-right, or start feed into Andrew Tate-style snake oil bullshit. It's the exact same kind of exploitation on a much larger scale; because it's the whole of Alternian society orchestrated by Doc Scratch.
You know... the Doc Scratch meant to represent online groomers?
Tumblr media
So, we've been over about all I can cover about Equius' sexual trauma, lack of boundaries and emptiness/lack of self. So, how does this translate? Particularly thinking on the last point, I'd like to give my two cents about a very interesting headcanon for Equius that's been circulating a lot lately.
Equius, and gender identity.
A transfeminine reading greatly enhances the content of Equius' character, and provides a narratively satisfying character arc and means of development for them.
(From hereon out, I will be referring to Equius by the pronouns she/her).
I've seen Nekropsii sum this up beautifully, and I'll paraphrase this interpretation to the best of my ability; Equius' manifestation of masculinity is akin to a poison to her.
Tumblr media
It makes her into a grotesque, testosterone-poisoned freak that physically cannot interact with anything around her without hurting it. It is the metaphorical confusion and fury of dysphoria made literal. It is the emptiness and lack of self that I myself can corrobate as a trans woman myself.
Masculinity is a curse for Equius. Much like quite a few other Homestuck characters (Dave & Jake come to mind), Equius really fucking hates being a guy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, this ties into my final point.
How I personally would have developed Equius had she been given the screentime to keep being relevant to the story.
The transfeminine character arc seems obvious. I believe that, if a person would be willing and able to tackle the more obscene and deliberately uncomfortable components of Equius' character, you could make an incredibly raw and interesting portrayal of transition and identity.
What's more; this is corroborated by Equius' closest relationship. Nepeta Leijon, the Rogue of Heart. The girl whose role indicates the ability to share identity and selfhood. Nepeta could very, very easily function as a catalyst for Equius gaining her own identity and being helped through the transition process. It makes an already STRONG and stable moirallegiance all the more interesting and heartwarming to witness.
This is not to say that Equius should not have agency herself, of course; an important part of this development would be the formulation of an independent self without debilitating outside influence. It would be allowing herself not to be consumed needlessly by Void.
Equius, and further relationship dynamics.
Equius' relationship with Gamzee (which I have always read as a one-sided kismesis) is also very important to me. This is not healthy. Equius is using Gamzee as a vessel for her fantasies and lack of boundaries, and through her black feelings she vents out her frustration with her sexuality and intrinsic need to obey and serve someone of a higher caste.
Tumblr media
I don't think I need to tell any of you how well that works out once Gamzee goes sober. (I'd rather not dwell on the topic of the Makaras too long; that's something for a wholly separate post - and one that I'm sure would end up being rather scathing towards Hussie).
Finally, Equius' relationship with Aradia. This is also one I feel is unhealthy and once again one-sided. It is the same principle as Gamzee; merely in the red quadrant as opposed to the pitch one. Equius is using somebody as a vessel to vent out her feelings of purposelessness and frustration, and deliberately ignoring the lack of reciprocation.
Tumblr media
Both of these connections are similar; and both of them end with Equius getting her shit kicked in.
How one would retool and treat these relationships post-character development is up to them, but I personally think it would be healthier for Equius to step away from both of them. I don't think Aradia would want or need Equius' continued presence in her life, and Gamzee is notoriously terrible at relationships. (We know damn well how a reciprocated blackrom with him turns out, just ask Terezi).
Tumblr media
Equius, in conclusion.
That's all I really have to say on this matter; a long-winded and ultimately self-serving wall of text that I'm sure will come off as masturbatory and stupid when I read over it again. That being said, I wanted to lay all of this down in one place.
tl;dr - Equius Zahhak is a complex and interesting character with commentaries on teenage hypersexuality and unhealthy masculinity, and reading her as a trans woman provides an incredibly interesting character arc for her in the long term.

Note
Can I have a land for the maid of void who loves both cute pastel things and creepy things, hides her emotions behind her mask so she won't feel like a burden to those close to her. And suffers from Sleepy Bitch Disease, and loves icebergs and creepy videos along with weirdly enough cutesy things.
We’re more of a writing prompts blog, so @creative-classpect’s Land making guide (found here: https://creative-classpect.tumblr.com/post/155197786320/how-to-make-a-sburb-land-so-a-looot-of-my ) will probably be of more help. As for my suggestion? Try… LOGAS, the Land of Glaciers and Secrets.

VOID PLAYERZ ONLY
as with the prev polls: if you consider multiple, i suggest going for the one u feel aligned with currently/most often, which one u wanna represent in a poll like this, whichever has the most compelling role/narrative, whatever works for U. classpecting is very subjective, and fluid for a lot of people.
i actively encourage discussion in the replies of what your class and aspect mean to u. simple or lengthy, i wanna hear it :J
excluding master classes bc no space for em, sorry.
for those who cant vote: i’d appreciate u passing the poll along. also, i’ll likely post updates throughout the week on how it’s going so everyone can have a peek inside. thank u

Aspects
My views on Homestuck's Aspects. Part of this analysis is the idea that Aspects have relationships to each other, each bringing the other about.
I will use my own custom Aspect symbols throughout, but the analysis itself is based on canon.
Space
Tumblr media
Space is the Aspect of beginnings, of new things. Space experiments and improvises. Space cares about what is possible now, and cares more about the discoveries made in a journey than about a specific endpoint. Space is infinite discovery and potential.
Space is represented by art, fashion, atoms, and frogs.
Space is the color of the night sky, empty beyond human perception, endless and unfathomable but not featureless. Inky darkness, dotted by stars. Space has no color at all, which sometimes results in it using Sburb’s default texture.
Space is opposed to the Aspect of Time.
Space is the fundamental force of creation that gives rise to the duality of Life and Doom well as the unknown mysteries of Void.
Void
Tumblr media
Void is the Aspect of the unknown. Of hidden, ill-defined things impossible for us to know or give names to. Void is the Aspect of true reality, of things on a spectrum, of quantum and biology.
Void is represented by water, darkness, and pumpkins.
Void is the color of deep waters, hiding what lies within; its color somewhere on a gradient, but impossible for humans to pinpoint or define no matter how long they stare; Void is the shifting hues of the color of the sky.
Void is opposed to the Aspect of Light.
The unexplored unknowns of the Void hide the untapped potential that is Space, leading to new creation.
Life
Tumblr media
Life is the Aspect of agency and self-direction. Life is self-directed and idealistic; Life concerns itself primarily with what Life wants to do, not caring for obstacles or drawbacks. Life sees an infinitude of options, and picks the one it desires.
Life is represented by plants, food, coins, and wealth.
Life is opposed to the Aspect of Doom.
The ultimate freedom to do whatever one wants eventually leads to the ennui of Breath. The interplay of Life and Doom leads to defining one's self in Heart or hiding in Mind.
Doom
Tumblr media
Doom is the Aspect of fate and constraint. Doom has burdens and limitations; Doom concerns itself with practical issues instead of lofty ideals. Doom sees no escape or negotiation, going with what others demand of you.
Doom is represented by skulls, death, and fire.
Doom is opposed to the Aspect of Life.
The practical matters and the knowledge of our limits leads to the endless toil of Blood. The interplay of Life and Doom leads defining one's self in Heart or hiding in Mind.
Breath
Tumblr media
Breath is the Aspect of detachment. Breath goes with the flow, not caring about anything or anyone in particular; Breath does whatever feels right in the moment, not worrying about much.
Breath is represented by wind, leaves, and rivers.
Breath is opposed to the Aspect of Blood.
The freedom of exploration of and detachment of goals leads to the compromise and negotiation of Hope and to exploration of the self in Heart.
Blood
Tumblr media
Blood is the Aspect of effort. Blood has lofty expectations, from both itself and others, and runs itself ragged to accomplish all of them. Blood cares intensely about what it does, without rest or thought.
Blood is represented by blood, sweat, stone, and iron.
Blood is opposed to the Aspect of Breath.
The exertion and toil of Blood eventually lead either to hiding in Mind or to the revolution of Rage.
Heart
Tumblr media
Heart is the Aspect of self and emotion. Heart is a person's identity and definition, their emotions and their friendships and their biases. Heart goes with its gut. Heart cares about what its heart directs it to.
Heart is represented by music, hats, and horses.
Heart is opposed to the Aspect of Mind.
Heart’s loyalty and instinct lead to the upheaval of Rage and Heart’s caring nature leads to Blood.
Mind
Tumblr media
Mind is the Aspect of thought and masking. Mind coldly adapts itself to circumstance, hiding the true self in order to blend in with what's acceptable. Mind is impartial. Mind weighs all the options, and picks the one most suited to the situation.
Mind is represented by masks, blindfolds, and scales.
Mind is opposed to the Aspect of Heart.
Mind’s bottling of emotions leads to the real detachment of Breath; and Mind’s adaptive nature leads to Hope.
Rage
Tumblr media
Rage is the Aspect of rebellion. Rage is skeptical of what society presents as true, and fights tooth and nail for what it stands for. Rage riots and fights back; Rage would sooner bring revenge than healing. Rage fights for sudden change.
Rage is represented by fangs, beasts, and waves.
Rage is opposed to the Aspect of Hope.
In fighting against their shackles, one gains the newfound options of Life. Rage’s sudden changes forms half of the past events of Time.
Hope
Tumblr media
Hope is the Aspect of diplomacy. Hope believes everyone is good at heart, and that everything could be solved if only everyone talked things out. Hope has blind faith and will sooner comfort a friend than hurt an enemy. Hope solves things slowly and steadily.
Hope is represented by religion, ribbons, and blankets.
Hope is opposed to the Aspect of Rage.
Hope’s compromises and negotiations lead to new shackles in the form of Doom. Hope’s slow changes form half the past events of Time.
Time
Tumblr media
Time is the Aspect of the past. Time is concerned with traditions, patterns, and the inevitability of what came before. Time brings the authority of established rules and governance. Time looks to what was to decide what will come about.
Time is associated with gears, crowns, sand, and clocks.
Time is the color of a gear turning to rust, of blood leaving a vein, of a game timer running out. Time powers shine in all colors at once before they settle on one.
Time is opposed to the Aspect of Space.
The knowledge of the established patterns of Time leads to the knowledge and definition of Light.
Light
Tumblr media
Light is the Aspect of definition. Light has clear rules, clear definitions, and clear answers. Light creates frameworks of understanding and puts things in black and white, right and wrong, relevant and irrelevant, which can sometimes lead to ignoring the gray areas between. Light is the Aspect of human knowledge of the world, our ideas, stories, and sciences.
Light is represented by the sun, fire, and compasses.
Light is the blazing color of the sun, impossible to look at for long, but shining its light everywhere, a white light that returns as a myriad of colors.
Light is opposed to the Aspect of Void.
The sharp delineations of Light ignore the gray areas outside definition, creating Void.

Sylph of Void
The Sylph of Void. One who heals secrecy, darkness, and nothingness while also healing with them.
The cool black abyss. Come in peace and watch your step
Sylph- heal their aspect and heal with it. They bring their aspect to where there is little of it, sowing the seeds for their aspect to grow.
Void- major themes of nothingness, obscurity, and the Void. Minor themes of ignorance, secrecy, darkness and null.
Abilities
Shroud
The Sylph of Void allows shadows, mystery, and secrecy to blossom, bloom, and spread. The Sylph is capable of a sort of sleight of hand and misdirection, allowing little unnoticed changes to become areas of obfuscation and confusion.
Initially this could manifest as a blackout doctrine, specializing in redacting, deleting, and disconnecting key pieces of information. Carefully editing audio and video, blacking out text in sensitive files, and other similar forms of direct information control. The Sylph is something of a counterintelligence agent, either as minor as someone being a troll or as grand as one of the Men In Black, choosing to carefully and meticulously erase key details.
At lower levels these methods of shrouding would begin to take on a more supernatural lean, able to not simply block out the information in the present, but expand beyond the medium to the information itself. When they begin octuring information it subtly alters other records of the same object or event and can even pass into the minds of anyone witnessing the shroud. Carving a face out of a painting could result in all other portraits of the person in the castle being similarly removed with servants unable to easily remember who the portrait was supposed to be of.
As the Sylph of Void progresses this would move beyond tampering and enter into interfering with reality with less interference. The Sylph would be able to cast their shroud over objects and people, akin to a magic placing a blanket over something they wish to disappear. While cloaked, objects and people would be in a field of stasis, unaware of time and unburdened by things like cause and effect. These people or objects sit in a place of superposition where until the shroud is removed, nothing has occurred yet. The coin at the apex of a toss. All while their gap in the world is felt, reverberating out. This can be used to effectively erase periods of a timeline, to hide things away in the hidden depths of the Incipisphere, and to allow the disappearance of any person or object to invoke inquiry about the mysterious void left behind.
At medium levels, the Sylph of Void can allow these shadows to lengthen, controlling a dimmer to the world itself.  Their shroud would increase in size, allowing for more subjects of greater size, number, and distance to the Sylph to become hidden. As long as they remain shrouded it is like they never even existed or a magic trick yet to meet a resolution, if it ever will. Prolonged time shrouded could result in things being swallowed by the void, never to be seen again. The Sylph could cause these lost things to be forgotten as well.
At higher levels, the Sylph of Void would be able to cloak entire places within their shroud, erasing and neutralizing all details and senses related to the place. Entire airships, armies, castles, moments themselves could simply cease to be. The looming dread of a mysterious threat passing over an army as monsters disappear behind the curtain of reality. The Sylph of Void controls the curtains of the stage, and with it, what stories get told. People, places, and events can be forced to transpire “off-screen” away from anything of importance or note, if the Sylph allows them to transpire at all.
Safe haven
A Sylph of Void renews with void, healing and restoring with nothingness, obscurity, and lack of focus. The Sylph knows how to take the pressure off, allowing time and rest away from the vibrant sights and sounds of the world around them. They can cause things to lose relevance and immediate impact, creating a gentle environment.
While they are more than capable of reducing harm, they might lack the drive necessary to achieve their ends or fully sympathize with the desires of others, a caretaker focused solely on recovery without the end goal of activity in mind.
At lower levels the Sylph has a cooling, soothing, perhaps even to the point of stifling aura. They are capable of suppressing or even nullifying pain, hunger, and stress, at the cost of all else: initiative, drive, extreme emotions, and clarity of purpose. They could refresh and restore stamina and endurance and in more extreme cases, allow for their allies to simply shrug off harm and keep standing or even alive through the Sylph alone.
As they progress this ability to soothe and nullify would expand into an aura around them, a lack of narrative focus and spotlight allowing them to bring peace and reprieve. Similar to how conflicts in movies tend to slow for a character interaction scene, the Sylph would be able to bide their time. Attacks never seem to make a solid impact, ranged weaponry flying harmlessly past, boss monsters being easily distracted by other threats, etc. The Sylph would particularly excel at evacuations, with those they can maintain focus on simply fading away and disappearing into the background to maneuver and escape.
At medium levels the Sylph of Void can create their own pocket in reality, a literal safe space beyond the borders of the world around them. This pocket dimension would be a space of deep introspection and quiet peace, where little, if anything, could interfere. Without shape and form, this nebulous area of nothingness is a cool dark abyss, where time is slowed. The Sylph and their allies would have a time to rest, a pause button for the world around them. While in this safe haven things may not occur in their immediate surroundings, but other functions far away may still occur. While the area around the Safe Haven may slow and lose tension, the spotlight must always be directed and for better or worse, it will go elsewhere.
At higher levels this Safe Haven would expand in dimension and ability, evolving from a small protective space to a large area completely outside the bounds of space and time, without cause and effect, without narrative pressure and tension. The Safe Haven is a world unto itself, existing between the threads of reality, the space between pages, where all lost and forgotten things dwell. Even should this kingdom of darkness manage to be breached, swirling protective shadows and horrorterror guardians are able to protect the Sylph of Void.
Passives
Something from nothing- you never require tools to fix an object or heal a creature, seemingly making due with nothing at all
Better without- even when you are not present you are helpful
Whisper network- you can share secretive information regardless of distance or method

I made a Homestuck OC. I’m actually kinda happy about them too. I even drew art of them (which is ass because I suck at art), but I didn’t wanna just blab about them without a visual for reference. I also just used Troll Doll Maker for the little guy in the corner.
Tumblr media
This is my little guy! Their name is Hedeon Lirazz! They’re a Bard of Void and a Jade Blood.
The name is actually pretty simple. Hedeon is actually a Russian equivalent for the Hebrew name Gideon, which means Hewer, Feller, and Destroyer. I didn’t go with Gideon for personal reasons but liked the way the latter part of the name rolled off the tongue. Lirazz is based on Liraz, which is another Hebrew name that means Secret. So yeah, their name just means “Destroyer of Secrets”. I’m very creative.
For their design, I (very poorly) based their horns off of a moth’s antennae since, as a Bard, they’ll behave like a Light Player and moths are attracted to light. I also had it so that their eyes are covered, “voiding” them from view. I just gave them a standard dress shirt and vest because they’re a studious little fellow.
As a Bard of Void, they passively destroy Void by attempting to be knowledgeable about a lot of things, including people. They love random tidbits of trivia and can be a bit annoying with how much they like to blab. They actually also destroy other people’s Void by giving them attention, validation, and genuine interest in the things they like. But because of their focus on gathering knowledge, they has a tendency to see people as little puzzles rather than actual people.
Because all Void as an aspect also ties into sexuality and gender identity, I made them Nonbinary. I also made them Demiromantic and Demisexual. I thought it tied into the Bard part of them a bit since both Demi orientations involve having an emotional connection to feel attraction and I like the thought it would be funny for someone with the “nothing” aspect to need to have “something” in order to engage in a relationship due to them being a Bard.
Their motivation for garnering information is because they feel as though there’s a hunger (void) within them and that knowledge and entertainment is the only way they can satisfy their gluttony (bard making them seem like a light player).
If it’s not obvious, I’m a lot better at writing and thinking of character designs than actually drawing said things, but I wanted you guys to actually see how I see them. Let me know if you have any thoughts, questions, or criticisms! Thank you for reading :o)

Introduction to my Classpecting Ideas
This felt like a good idea for something to put out before I put my Knight & Page analysis out there, since I plan on making this a 6 part series. (Potentially 7 if demand for a Lord/Muse addendum is high enough).
So, I'll be laying out my most important philosophies on the subject here for future reference.
Classpecting is...
Point A. Classpecting is malleable.
There is not one rigid, set definition for any Class pair, or any Aspect pairing. The freedom of the author is that they may assign any symbolism to a concept that they may like.
What I mean by this is that people often seem to think that manifestations of an Aspect within Homestuck's narrative paint that object or idea as a concept inherently tied to that Aspect.
Example: Pumpkins & Void. You would not believe the amount of people in the early fandom who swore by the idea that pumpkins were inherently just Void constructs because of their role in Homestuck's narrative.
No? Pumpkins symbolise Void in Homestuck itself and Homestuck itself only only due to a running gag inherent to Homestuck itself.
Anything, with enough narrative basis and existing thematic ties, can serve to symbolise an Aspect. Furthermore, two different authors may have different ideas of what Aspect something represents.
Some authors may see alcohol, for example, as a Void-bound concept owing to its obfuscation of fair judgement. Some may see it as a Light-bound concept owing to the idea of 'in vino veritas' and the tendency of drunkenness to induce truthful confessions. Some may see it as a Life-bound concept owing to its associations with hedonism and impulsive behaviour.
With enough narrative consistence, anything is possible. Homestuck's narrative is not as rigid of a point of reference as some people would swear by it being. This is deeply important.
Point B. Classpecting is not the whole of a character.
I can't exactly phrase this in a satisfactory manner, but... a Classpect is not a personality type in of itself. An individual being a Prince of Heart does not instantly make them Dirk Strider. It merely means that their core value is identity & selfhood, and they interact with it by destroying it. It is that simple!
I see, time and time again, Classpecting blogs acting as if a Classpect is indicative of a character's whole personality and giving guides as to the exact behaviours & quirks a character with that Classpect should have.
I am imploring you to explore wider possibilities when it comes to this. Even if it means sharing a title with a canon character! It doesn't mean you have to just rewrite that canon character because that's not how Classpecting works.
I've seen fanventure characters share titles with canon characters. (Sovereignstuck's Annomi Errata & Dynama Zarrow sharing titles with Dirk & Porrim respectively, and Porrim herself is also a player in that narrative, mind you!)
I've seen fanventure characters share titles with eachother. (Vast Error's Dismas Mersiv is a Rogue of Mind. One of my fantrolls is also a Rogue of Mind!)
In every instance, they are fundamentally different people. I cannot put it any simpler than this.
Point C. Classpecting is always applicable.
That is the perfection of the Classpecting system. You can give a title to any character, from anything ever made. It's not even that difficult if you're half-decent at media analysis!
Quite literally all you need to do is ask yourself two questions.
"What's this character's core value?" and "How do they interact with that?" Do that, and you've got yourself a Classpect.
That's the beauty of it! It's obviously not going to be as airtight as a story that has the Classpecting system baked directly into the narrative, but it's still going to work out!
Hell, do it to yourself! Do it to your friends! The world's your oyster. You can do anything you want, forever, for the rest of time. I'm a Seer of Life! My best friend is a Page of Blood! My mother is a Witch of Hope! Go wild.
Post formatting
For my Classpecting posts, I'll aim to give two related definitions for every Class.
Definition A is the narrative function, what the Class says about the person and how they interact with their Aspect as an abstract concept.
Definition B is the practical function, what the Class says about their role in the session and how they interact with their Aspect as a SBURB construct.
Therefore, we get an idea of both the abstract, personal definition of a Classpect, and the functional, game application of a Classpect.
I'll also aim to give about two or three examples for each individual title about how you could write a character with them, since there are always going to be multiple directions you can take with a Classpect.
Conclusion
tl;dr - what I'm trying to say is this. Classpecting is malleable, easily applicable & capable of saying any number of things, and my posts will aim to give two concise definitions of both narrative and practical function for every title.
I'll get the Knight:Page analysis done either today or tomorrow, and the rest of the Class posts will be staggered releases in order of poll results. Thus, the order is going to be:
Knights & Pages, Deficiency and Exploitation.
Mages & Seers, Experience and Comprehension.
Witches & Heirs, Adherence and Manipulation.
Princes & Bards, Instability and Destruction.
Thieves & Rogues, Inundation and Redistribution.
Maids & Sylphs, Maintenance and Generation.
And, potentially...
7. Lords & Muses, Absolution and Dominion.
And then, subsequently, the order for the Aspect posts, which I've decided based on relevance to the canon, roughly speaking anyways...
Space & Time, Genesis and Terminus.
Breath & Blood, Fluidity and Stability.
Light & Void, Potential and Simplicity.
Heart & Mind, Instinct and Dialectics.
Life & Doom, Progress and Stagnation.
Hope & Rage, Conviction and Iconoclasm.
I look forward to the next post. Until then, take care.

I've been really enjoying your posts on black holes and homes as sources of gravity (as I understand the posts so far). Out of curiosity, what do you make of page 5404, where Drunk Rose describes in drunk babble that Gravitation itself is somehow related to "the intrinsic nature of nothingness"? Combined with a few of the screenshots you've taken, it feels like you're hitting on something close to Void as a thematic presence in Homestuck to me, but bugger me if I know what it is!
My instinct is that Rose has reached the same conclusion I have: that 'gravity', as a metonym for the influence of a black hole, is just the inevitable pull towards oblivion. I think she's using "nothingness" as a euphemism for "space", over which gravity has dominion, but through this we can start to appreciate how the concepts of Space and Void weave into each other ("nothingness", "space" and "void" all being functional synonyms).
Understanding that Rose's lapse into alcoholism is her own way of succumbing to 'gravity' - a pull towards toxic familial cycles which not only evokes Vriska's own "addiction" to breaking 8-balls but also literally surrounds the drinker in a dark pocket - her allusions to the Void and gravity here are also tinged by her own experience and outlook as a Seer of Light (who heavily relied on a magic cue ball as her source; a fountain of information which is symbolically opposed to the information-consuming black hole). In particular, the idea that the gravity/knowledge contained within the apple was "for BIDDEN..!" feels like it harkens back to Rose's own quest for forbidden knowledge, which led ultimately to her first foray into the dark. (Like a sun collapsing in on itself, in her hunger for information Rose becomes the black hole in a simultaneously Biblical-and-Newtonian fall-from-grace-cum-moment-of-inspiration. Oh, hey, exactly like Kanaya said would happen!)
But through allusions to Adam and Eve, and the plucking of primordial ideas "from the void" or "the abyss of coinsciousness", we also get the sense that nothingness is the substrate from which things are born - in a manner of speaking, "the Void" here is an ideological incestuous slurry. Just as the void consists of the aspects of creation so "closely woven together [...] that they are barely separable", all things are eventually pulled by forces of gravity (or inevitability, or Time, or whatever name suits them in the context), manifested as a black hole, into nothingness... just to be mixed up and recombined again in Paradox Space's great masturbatory cycle of life and death, like English being born again and again in countless universes. And what Rose "take[s] for granned", about the ease of creating complex objects and the difficulty of creating simple ones, is the exact opposite problem to what the Rogue of Void experiences.
I don't know if I'm HAPPY with these answers, per se... Rose's rant is so rich with imagery I feel like I should be able to give you one, cohesive answer rather than 2-3 smaller fragmented ones. Perhaps that's sort of the point - in her drunkenness, Rose has access to this veritably spaghetti heap of interwoven ideas, but lacks the vision to line them up into a unified Point? But I can't help but feel like that's a cop-out.
Thanks so much for asking though!

(prolly) extremely inaccurate classpect analysis (but its of combined classpects)
Parasite of stagnancy
(combined classpect by @superxstarzz)
Tumblr media
cool :3 so keep in mind i have no idea what I'm actually doing
A thief of void is someone who steals void or steals through void for themselves while a prince of light is someone who destroys or destroys through light for themselves.
So I think it would make sense for a parasite of stagnancy to destroys through light by stealing void or steals through void by destroying light. (if that makes sense)
Parasites of Stagnancy are very secretive people, and don't exactly seem very useful or important unless they make a point to do otherwise. They could also be seemingly just really confusing and all over the place or just seem like they are some kind of background character while they're secretly in control of everything they may need to happen.
when interacting with others they could probably be going on and on about random things that are unimportant and have nothing to do with the situation, essentially distracting others from what they're doing when no ones watching.
they'd know everyone's secrets because no one really thinks they can do any damage by knowing. they prolly give horrible advise on purpose lmfaoo.
they'll either make or break their session all while no ones looking. They will likely start their game by being everyone's friend, or just knowing everyone, but probably not liking any of them. Eventually once they get into their land, they'll start distancing themselves and focusing on moving up their echeladder and godteiring before the rest of their team. from then, they'll stick around people, listening in on their private conversations, and learning things they weren't supposed to. they'll uses what they learn to give people a *push* into the right direction. they might push a little too hard, which would be their downfall.
Their strife specibus will likely consist of small things that they could hide on themselves. things that rely on luck or are easy if you know how they work. probably things like Vriska's dice, daggers, or maybe a wand. Their powers might consist of ruining luck for others, blinding others, or controlling light in general, going invisible, making objects (like how Roxy made the matriorb), and disorienting/confusing someone.

SEER OF VOID BEAM!!!!
Literally reverse rose lalonde, very nice.
Tumblr media
The Seer is someone who studies their main Aspect by using its opposite as a source. Rose consulted the Horrorterrors and Doc Scratch (an entity she didnt exactly knew very well about and used to leave pretty vague about information although he infact did never lie) as a way to get information (Light), and Terezi used roleplay and impersonation/assumption (Heart motif) as a way of tracing logic (Mind) between the facts.
Void is the Aspect that deals with vagueness in general. It doesn't necessarily embody inexistence although it is one of its motifs, more likely it is the stuff that it's there but its not plainly obvious to the naked eye. That's also why i believe invisible energy/connection is one of Void's motifs, due to the abundance of internet signal on the Furthest Ring and the Fenestrated Planes being a thing.
The Seer of Void would be someone who wants to learn about Void by getting it through Light. This is more likely someone who would consult every type of readable source about Void there is to know the most of. Someone who would try to comprehend the uncomprehendable with information. You could have someone that tries to understand the Horrorterrors by consulting every bit of information there is, someone who wants to understand ignorance by doing detailed studies of it, someone who wants to comprehend mysteries or possibly find clues by using special glasses/visions, and many more stuff.
The Seer's growth is that he needs to take care of himself to NOT be corrupted by his opposite Aspect to the point where it forbiddens him. Rose had this in a more literal sense with her Grimdark form symbolizing her blind trust in the Horrorterrors's words and Terezi had in a more metaphorical sense with her feelings (Heart) interrupting her in the most crucial hours and preventing her from doing the right thing, like her not killing Gamzee on [S] GAME OVER for example.
This gets really interesting when we're talking about a Seer of Void. Maybe this Seer doesn't really get to know Void very well exactly because he's only studying theoretical information about it and isn't properly experiencing it, or maybe something more literal like his binding to Light makes him more of a target/enemy to the Horrorterrors than an ally, or maybe even a opposite Grimdark form if you want to play with that.
Anyway, the general rule of the Seer is that they want to comprehend their main Aspect by studying their opposite in some way. In this Seer's case he wants to comprehend vagueness by getting information about it. Make of that what you will.
